~*In a fortress located far north*~

"So do you know who is playing the NightRunners game?!" Elise asked with a smile. "Can you tell us?" Pastel asked, looking at Nike. "Yes, I can tell you. Elsie, I have a special job for you...you will need to deliver these letters." Nike said, sliding several letters down the table the three girls were sitting at. "You chose them well this time Nike..." Estella said. "One of them will win, but first they must live..." Nike said with a smile, Elise, Pastel and Estalla ran out of the room, letters in hand

"Ah, school is such a pain..." I said grimly, putting my hands behind my head, looking to the sunset. "God, it's that late already?" I asked with a sigh.

~Everyday repeats it's self. Everyday is work. Tragedies happen. Happiness happens. If u could? Would u change?~

Lulu finished her homework. She whipped away her inside tears with rather stupid thoughts, "Another day to pass the day right?" Oh how dumb. Everyday she would work so hard to get......what? Nothing was worth all the work she did. Nothing. Lulu opened her notebook that hid under her bed. She flipped to the page of what she drew was a devil. She slowly followed the traces, "Maybe........if I could become a devil...people would fear me and let me be free........"

But then again. Life had a timer. No?

Elsie ran around, quickly seeing one of the players. "There she is..." she laughed, appereing beside Llu's window as the sunset. She placed the letter, then running off again, not leaving a trace.

I arrived at my house lyeing on me bed, sighing in relief as I looked up to my window, seeing a slip of paper. I flipped over, ignoring it for the moment.

I was in the woods petting my old friend, Zen a pure white wolf watching the sun set slowly. "I'll have to go soon..." The wolf whimpered as it sat closer to me and put his head on my shoulder as I hugged it...

"Hey, are you joist going to lay there? Open the note!" Elise's, Estella and Pastel's voice laughed from inside my mind. "Ugh, now I'm hearing things..." I complained, sitting up and opening the note.

Dear fellow friend~

Please show up at the lake in the woods near the park tonight at 1:00.

Sincerely-

Your new Boss.

I wiped my eyes and placed the flowers i had picked from our garden on the cold, lifeless tombstone. "Why?" I asked myself "WHY HER?!" It is hard to belive that it has been an entire year since my sister Elizabeth died. I can still remember that day, it was a breezy Monday morning and my sister and I were going to school. I slept in being the naturally lazy teen I am, so she left without me. They say she was only a block from the school parking lot when a drunk dumba** ran a red light and slamed into her car. They say that she died instantly from the impact, I'm thankfull for that at the very least. "Well it's getting late" I told myself, and so I slumped home from the cemetery to my house 2 blocks away. Of course when I walked in the house my mom was sobbing uncontrollably over a picture of my sis as my dad tried to console her. I forced myself up the stairs and into my bed with an agonizing headache and a heart full of sorrow.

A letter was carefully placed at Zack's window. "You better be ready..." Elise's voice laughed before the presence of her faded away.

Jake slammed the door behind him and collapsed on the couch, the early morning sun streaming through the window and into his eyes. Another long night at work. He rubbed his eyes and walked into the bathroom, and looked at his crumpled figure in the mirror. He ran his finger across the scar on his cheek, remembering how Sherry left him. He let out a sigh, and opened up the cabinet. He opened the bottle of pills and tossed a few in his mouth, gruffly shaking his head as they went down uncomfortably, leaving a disgusting eucalyptus flavor. He discarded his jacket on the table and sat on the couch. Ever since Sherry left him, this was his routine. Work, sleep, work, sleep. He wondered if it was really even worth it. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

"ahhhhh~ This chocolate milk is sooooo good!" Lulu gasped as she walked to her open window. She noticed a little note on the ledge. "Eh, must be another one of my notes I forgot to put away." She went to reach it when a breeze came and stached the note away. "Hey!" She yelled trying to reach for it but it was too far away. "Ehh!! I need that for my test tommarow!" Lulu looked out. "Maybe I could just go get it......but it's really late and Mama and Papa are in bed. Plus it's really dark out......" Lulu thought some more till she decided, "Ok...just this one time."

She grabbed her purple long sleeved jacket and quietly came out of the house with a small flashlight. She then ran trying to capture the note. But the bad thing was.....She lived by the park~

(Can someone explain what time of day it is and where everyone is at? After that I will be happy to post. :P)

(its SUPPOSED TO BE NIGHT)

Being a homeless orphan, I decided to spend the night in the corner of a park. I opened up my backpack and pulled out a book, studying as always. It was actually surprising I went to school as an orphan, but I thrived on learning, ever since I was born. As I finished a book on Quantum Physics I decided to pick up a reading book. Looking at the bottom of my backpack, I found a book I had loved as a six-year old. The Night Runners. Quite sophisticated of a book actually, but I read it like it was a Dr. Seuss book. Looking at the side, I saw a III mark. The roman numeral for three. I sat there, analyzing and trying to figure out what it was for, after all, this was a single book, not a series of any kind. "Something feels so....ominous." I muttred, staring at the book, re-reading it.

I saw that it was night time and my blue eyes turned yellow and my white tail appeared and my ears as well. "I better go home..." I thought as I hugged Zen good bye he whimpered as I got up and left to go home. I arrived home and opened the door to be empty as always I went up stairs to the balcony and climbed up to the roof as I stared at the moon.

  • Author

"Please come..." Elise's voice echoed as a note appeared on the balcony.

(AWESOME.)

Kyou sat on a roof, the one she usually sat on on clear nights like this. Most people asked why she didn't go home, but she didn't have one. She lost her parents years ago to a car crash, and since then she's been living anywhere dry. She didn't have any other relatives. She never told anyone though. She didn't know why though. She wondered when she was going to have a home, if ever.

I saw the note and read it, "The lake? That's where I see Zen..." I thought as I looked at my watch it was 12:16, "I better get going..." I thought to myself jumping roof to roof and saw a girl but ignored her and jumped down and walked into the woods...

  • Author

"Oh, It looks like your not the last one..." Elsie said from the roof beside Kyou. "Here ya go." she said, giving her the note then vanishing.

(AM i not good enough for a note? No, jk but still wth? :P)

A cloaked girl would appear, leaving a letter...if you are a NightRunner you must face Three challenges of the NightRunners:

One: This will occur in your home. Fail, and you die.

Two: This occurs beside your school. Fail, and you die.

Three: This occurs at the park, near the woods, at the lake. Incorrectly anser the question, and you will be murdered.

I was stratled at how dark this book was. I looked around here at the park, noticing woods, and a lake. I was frightened already. "No....a coincidence....this is fake." Regardless, my curiosity caused me to read on.

IF you arrive at the lake, you will be greeted by the three forsighters and two people, a boy and girl. The woman’s name is Nike. Nike is the Greek Goddess of Victory; she has wings and can hunt you down if you make one wrong move so be warned. The man’s name is Ares. Ares is the Greek God of War, he can also hunt you down just as easily as Nike can.

These two have assigned you a simple game. The goal of the game is to ne the winner of course. But what is the reward? The reward is to rain as the new God of Existence.

You shall be called a NightRunner because you will ONLY be allowed to fight at night. If you dare fight during the day you shall be killed on the spot.

"Mythology in this too? How interesting..."

Kyou read the note, puzzled.

"What....?" she said analyzing it. "Who was that...."

Kyou got up, deciding she go. She was a really confident person, and she always thought she could do anything. So jumping down and walking toward the woods, she headed to the lake.

"Opps, not so fast." Estella entered, appearing in front of Kyou. "Tell me one thing, fail to tell me, I will attack." she smiled, her voice an odd dark. "Think long and hard about this thing..." she laughed. "If assigned on a quest, would you help your friends if you were assigned to kill them? Would you kill them? Would befriend them, but still be friends?" she asked.

~*MEANWHILE*~

"Hey, I need you to have this." Elise said, holding out out a card. "Silly fool. Estella will come soon." the girl said, vanishing.

(http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.png Jake hasn't got a letter yet.)

Piers sat on the bloodstained couch, looking down at the bodies of his sister, brother, and single mother. He buried his face in his hands and stifled a sob. 'Who could have done this? And why? Why couldn't I have been here to protect them?' Piers thought, blowing out a sigh. Sirens flashed outside, disrupting the tranquil darkness. Piers sighed again. "Goodbye, dear family." He said, and sprinted upstairs, and jumped out the window. He continued to run through the woods to his apartment building, which was a few blocks away.

(Who exactly did Elise give the card too? Nothing specified in that part of your post.)

"Letter." Elise said with a smile through Jake's window, setting a letter down.

(SORRY then, you just weren't specific.)

I saw a girl hand me a note and vanish, before I even had a chance to see her face. (Who the hell was she? Do I look like a fool to her?) I read the note.

Dear fellow friend~

Please show up at the lake in the woods near the park tonight at 1:00.

"This has to be fake....right?" I closed my book and placed it in my backpack. (Good thing I decided to go to the park today, not much of a walk to the lake.) I strolled through the woods, with the lake already in line of sight. "Guess I stay here until One 'O Clock then." I sat on the grass near the lake, and began to read more to pass the time. I wondered if anything would happen. I wasn't afraid....but everything seemed ominous.

Jake rubbed his eyes and turned his head to see the clock. "Nine forty three." He muttered. Not time for work yet. He got up off of the couch when something caught his eye. 'An envelope?' He thought lucidly. He took the letter off the window sill and broke the seal. Inside was a piece of weathered parchment that read:

The fate of you is unknown. Or is your fate hidden in your everyday actions? That is their question…

You, yourself will be sent a letter by a cloaked girl some night soon, It will arrive on your window and you will have to come. If you do not show up at the lake that is just down not that far in the forest beside the park, then you will die.

You will face three challenges before you get there. Three foresighters will ask you several questions about you, and you must tell the truth.

One challenge is located right in front of your door. If you fail this challenge, you will be killed.

The second challenge will happen beside your school that is not that far from the park. If you fail the challenge, you will be killed.

The last challenge will be located at the park, right near the woods, near the lake. If you do not correctly answer the question then you will be murdered.

The goal of the game is to be the winner of course. But what is the reward? The reward is to reign as the new God of Existence.

You shall be called a NightRunner because you will ONLY be allowed to fight at night. If you dare fight during the day you shall be killed on the spot.

Jake gave a chuckle. If this was a prank, they were doing it wrong. 'At my front door? What does that mean?' He thought as he walked to the front door.

(WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND AT THE FRONT DOOR? lol)

(Estella will make a projection of herself and appear infront of you, asking the question. She will say the smae thing she says to everyone, so not a big deal)

"Opps, not so fast." Estella entered, appearing in front of Jake.

~*Another Projection of Estella*~

Estella appeared in front of Joshua.
