Anyone else make special teams when they get a Pokemon game? For example, I used only Grass Pokemon in Pokemon White.

I'm getting both Black 2 and White 2, and while I plan on doing a Fire Type Monotype challenge, I'm trying to think of some interesting criteria for the other one. Any ideas?

Anybody else making a special team?

I always make weather teams when I get anew Pokémon game.

In White I made a sandstorm team, now I'm going to make a rain team (time to get Politoed xD)

I was going to do the normal Type vs Type advantage technique, but I am thinking about getting:

Pikachu, Flareon, Samurott (originally supposed to be Serperior, but I already used him in White :c), Lucario, Staraptor and -enter pokemon here- (since I already have a water type pokemon, originally supposed to be Empoleon)

but im actually thinking of just picking random pokemon that i like and dislike, to give them a try.

So I'll be switching Pokèmon over 100x in the PC. c:

I used a rain team and a toxic spike team. I think i might try sandstorm or just stick with what i already used.

Ever considered trying out Roserade?

It's a great Natural Cure Spiker.

had one for Diamond and Platinum

You can get it's minor form (Budew) on White Forest.

Or, you can transfer one Roserade from your Platinum.

I just use the Pokemon I feel best fit my strategy, although I do mostly depend on my water type starters.

I'm so glad that BW2 can trade with BW early on so I can get a good team set up ahead of time.

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no! Why'd I type that out instead of copy-paste?

I transferred over Pokemon for my Platinum and Soul Silver teams and I've got to say that it ruined the games a little. Sure, I loved having the power and the strategy, but it took away from the adventure and the search. Please don't import too many Pokemon.

Oh no... I remembered now.

Swift Swim + Rain is banned on OU.

Time to get myself a defensive team (Then it's time to get Poison Heal Gliscor xD)

If I got this game, it would be a full team of DRAGONITES. Because they are intense and shoot hyper beams xD

I thought of a genius idea! But since I'm such a genius (non-conceited), I came up with two ideas! But since I'm not a genius at all, I can only use one. And even further from geniusness, I spelled genius "genious" three times and I'm sure geniusness is not a real word.

Idea 1-

I would use a team of NFEs (Not Fully Evolved). While this would normally be annoying (imagine pressing B every time any of your Pokemon leveled up), I have composed a list of Unova Dex Pokemon that evolve in special ways. It's in spoilers because of its length.

Pansear

Pansage

Panpour

Magneton

Growlithe

Electibuzz

Magmar

Vulpix

Boldore

Gurdurr

Onix

Skitty

Clefairy

Eevee

Minccino

Roselia

Combee (Male)

Karrablast

Shelmet

Nosepass

Lampent

Tangela

Piloswine

Gligar

Staryu

Sneasel

Piloswine

Jigglypuff

Lickitung

Yanma

Idea 2-

I would use a team solely of Pokemon who do not evolve. The list is also in spoilers.

Dunsparce

Audino

Basculin

Sigilyph

Emolga

Heracross

Pinsir

Durant

Heatmor

Alomomola

Zangoose

Seviper

Cyrogonal

Skarmory

Lunatone

Solrock

Absol

Stunfisk

Shuckle

Corsola

Laparas

Delibird

Ditto

Sawk

Throh

Bouffalant

Druddigon

Tropius

Carnivine

I never do until after the games. I just mean that if there's a certain type of Pokemon I want early on for my main team I'll go catch it in White and transfer it. I never get much in the first place.

I've seen a lot of people speed through the game with level 100 Pokemon they transferred just so they can say they know what happens first :/

Of course, even though you can catch an Eevee in White 2, I've hatched an Eevee all ready for travel to White 2 to become my second main battle Pokemon after my starter. I want to evolve it into a Glaceon later on, but Twist Mountain is off limits until you finish the game :/

Okay, that's understandable. I transferred over a whole team of Lv 1 Pokemon in Platinum and I feel like I ruined the game. I transferred over a single Bulbasaur in SS and I felt alright.

In one of the last runs I did in SS, I chose a Cyndaquil, and traded from my HG a Chikorita, Totodile, Pikachu, and Dratini.

It was a great run xD

Figured I'd resurrect this since the game is so close!

I'll either do a combination of these guys:

(Don't Evolve)

Emolga

Heracross

Seviper

Ditto

Druddigon

Laparas

Lunatone

Bouffalant

Absol

Corsola

Or these:

(NFE)

Dewott

Magneton

Electibuzz

Boldore

Onix

Skitty

Minccino

Roselia

Piloswine

Lickitung

Thoughts?

If you're going to use Ditto, you'd better get Impostor.

I highly advise you to use Druddiggon, and Lapras.

Of course! He'd be useless without it! I plan on planning a team of 7 and using Ditto if I can find one in a Hidden Hollow.

Those two were actually some of my favorites on the list. Them and Emolga.

I'm not sure if I want to use Heracross- I already have one from SS.

Heracross already had its time. Back in the 3rd Gen.

Also the Pokémon are listed roughly in order of obtaining, so I may need to use temporary Pokémon until I get to Lapras.

So I guess the goal is

Emolga

Druddigon

Lapras

Lunatone

Absol

Seviper/Bouffalant/(Diito)

Until you get Ditto, you should go for Seviper (If you find him before Bouffalant)
