What's up with this "Whistle scene"? I didn't do/view it, so from what I've read I missed out on seeing Tidus return because of this scene which I had no idea about. I completed the story: 83% by the way.

 

Also is there any difference between New Game Plus and the normal game?

 

And also how should I go about my save files now that I have New Game Plus?

Well to get the "whistle scene" and the secret ending you need to 100% complete the game then start a new game as new game plus, over the 100% completed game and then you will get these extra scenes. And when you make a new game plus you can either overwrite it over your other file or you can just make a new file completely. Also what the new game plus does is it transfers all your abilities and items from your old file into your new game plus one.

New Game Plus also has some new dungeons, where you can get some dress spheres you may have missed, and I believe you can even have duplicates of dress spheres. I just remember going through that one dungeon and running into a Mega Tonberry and it doing 25k damage to me. I cried a little.

 

I never 100% that game because some of the things are so complicated to get.

Remember in FFX how Tidus always said that if she whistled, he'd come running? Yeah.

I'm not sure about differences, probably another chance to go through Via Infinito (if that's what it's called)

I would save on a new file in case you would want to load up that save and go back and do whatever, maybe do all the side missions.

I don't think the NG+ carries that over.

There are a few things that don't contribute to 100% completion. The Via Infinito doesn't have to be completed, but you have to get the cutscene where you unlock it. Viewing scenes on the commspheres also counts towards your percentage. Same with a lot of dungeons

There's so much stuff in this game that requires specific timing and such, and so many obscure actions you need to take (Did you even know that you have to press X to get the whistling scenes to happen?)

Anyways, one of the things you can do in a new game plus is take the other side in handing over the awesome sphere.

I used a guide. There are such things as no-spoiler guides.

And it's pretty easy to avoid things.
