Xenoblade Chronicles: A Desperate Gamble for a Good Game

Posted

So, in the years of owning a Wii I haven't exactly been graced with frequent high-quality releases. I liked Mario Galaxy and Skyward Sword and such, but overall it seems that the release date for good games on the Wii is pretty much bi-annual.

That being said, I've heard nothing but good things about Xenoblade Chronicles. The gameplay looks fun, it's open-world, and it looks gorgeous, especially for a Wii game.

The render distance looks extremely far, with the environments not having shoddy textures. You may think I'm grasping for straws being a Wii owner, and I really am, but I've honestly heard great things about it and I'm excited that there's a title out there that works well on the system (or so it seems).

Now, I have 2 reservations about buying this game:

  • You never now how a game actually feels until you play it yourself.

  • The price.
This game can be bought on eBay or amazon for anywhere from $50 to $100. That's not a price point to gamble. So here's what I'm looking for: I want to know, from people who have played this, if this game is actually worth the price, or if it's overhyped and not all that great.

Any input is much appreciated. Thanks, fellow KH13'ers :D

I've only played about 2 hours of Xenoblade, but from what I've seen it's pretty fun. It's super long too (~60-80 hours), so the high price point is pretty well justified for the amount of content.

Also, since it was only being printed in a few places, I would get a copy while you still can. :V

Gamestop has it for $50.

* it is a gamestop exclusive, thats why it is marked up other places
