Anyone know which pokemon games you'd need to be able to catch every single pokemon?(except event pokemon, I'll probably trade them)

As a mandatory part of the game?

Never happened.

In Emerald you had to catch them all if you wanted a Johto Starter.

Besides Emerald, nothing happens.

No I mean which of the games would you need for it to be possible to catch every single pokemon

It's impossible to catch every pokemon legitimately. Most legendaries cannot be obtained without Wi-Fi events or other methods.

That's impossible.

You need to have Event Pokémons, plus Pokémons from other games that you can't catch.

For example: Let's say that you have Pokémon Platinum. You'll notice that you can't catch Stunky and Glameow, since Stunky appears on Diamond, and Glameow appears on Pearl. They're Unobtainable Pokémons.

That's why I said I'd probably trade the event pokemon

you still don't understand, as in how many of the games would I have to buy for it to be possible to complete the national pokedex in gen V

NO one seems to really understand the question the person is asking. It's a pretty simple too.

Well ok then, you could get Pokemon Black or White and then using Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver, FireRed/LeafGreen and Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald to trade certain pokemon over then you can have all pokemon caught.

It's literally impossible to get all pokemon otherwise.

you can go for a hack game that you can find online and use an emulator on phone/computer to play them.......tbh some of them i find better than the original ones

I got them all in Diamond but... let's say it was hard and now I try to do the same in B2... it is so annoying to transfer them http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png

You could buy some of the GBA games (should be cheap by now) if you have a DS. Won't work with 3DS.

And it doesn't work with the DSi too.
