TCNN (The City News Network) Bulletin:Breaking News: Raul Pottza and collective terrorist group of over 100 stormed the industrial district today and overtook the Keihg Manufacturing Facility and the Iefrix Industrial Complex, calling for the presidents of the competing companies to dismantle their augmentation production immediately, police and news agencies on site, no word from either corporation yet.Current Events Board- Anti-Aug Hostage Situation, Location- The City Industrial District, Characters on-scene- Dain, Jack, Raul, YukaHey Everybody, Veritas here. I've previously made a fairly successful RP that was based around the KH universe, now I want to try something for more unique, thrilling and ambitious. It will require many people, and a strong willingness to have fun and be creative, though I plan to make it as interesting and easy to be a part of this RP as possible. If I can't get enough people, I'll put it on hiatus until later, but if we can get enough people, I assure you I plan this to be unlike any RP you've ever been a part of on this site. Read more if this sounds at all interesting.Welcome to The City. The year is 2034, and the world is a drastically different place. Augmentations have changed humanity, boosted globalization, increased productivity and standard of living, and begun a new era of seeming peace. However, that's only what it looks like on the outside. While the world may be mostly peaceful because of these enhancements, their rise has led to a whole new level of corporation, international juggernauts that wage an invisible war with each other every day. Iefrix International (known as I.I.) and Keihg Technologies (K.T.) are the frontrunner corporations, hosting huge labs which develop tomorrow's technologies ranging from ear pieces, to holo-screens (Glass coated holographic projector screens no thicker than a centimeter which have replace TVs), to robotic prosthetics (which range from human-level, to the expensive and regulated super-human level, and even the classified military-grade).These two companies both happened to start in a southern Washington city that soon grew due to their influence. That city is now the largest and most opulent in the world, so much so that it is simple referred to as The City (by most it is referred to as T.C.). These two companies are at each others throats, fighting in locations around the world for resources and markets. Those who act for these companies are the Agents. These people have full access to the range of weapons tech that their companies supply, and roam the world fighting their enemies. Even S.C. 1 (Space Colony) the first and currently only orbiting habitation satellite is not outside of the companies reach. Both companies have shrewd and combative Presidents, who will stop at nothing to see the other company fall. While they fight all over the world, the true fight is where both companies are headquarters, The City, and neither will stop until the other is ashes, even if it sets the very world on fire.So, the setup here is an agent or president of either Iefrix International, or Keihg Technologies. I will allow two people to act as police partners investigating both companies. The inciting event (I will begin with it once we start) will begin in The City, and all characters will begin there, but feel free to go around the world and even into space (I will create events and constantly update the situation in this original post which can be referenced at all times for current objectives. I will also update the story in the thread itself every 3 pages, and compile the story up to the present in this post as well. Now, onto the rules:-Only one character is allowed per person, there will be so much happening that there will be no time to go off on your personal story, all interaction should be with other players (the exception is a very minor side character or two that you use to further events as you need, if you make more than 3 posts acting as a character besides your primary, I will give you a single warning and that will be it. I don't want anyone go off on their own tangent for an extended period of time.-Be creative! Have a cool character that other people want to interact with and make sure you have them do interesting things. Send messages to other players if you want to plot. I don't want to impede your creativity, so don't feel the need to consult me in order to plot with other players or create a twist, so long as it follows the rule below.-Do not godmod, but even more important, do not give yourself a spontaneous advantage over other players. I see the "I teleport behind you instantly" all too often, and that is not fair to the other player. If you are fighting, do not specify whether your attack connects, allow your opponent to decide that. If you are being attacked, allow yourself to be injured sometimes, everyone's mortal.-Obscene language is completely okay, given the situation. I leave it to your discretion in saying don't over do it, otherwise, do what you feel is right for your character.-Use parentheses for comments outside of the RP once it has begun, feel free to ask questions, though remember to use messages if there's no need to comment on things to everyone.Here's the character sheet, to reiterate, anyone can be an agent (augmented), one person to be the president of each company (commanding all agents within their company) and two people to optionally be police officers (non-augmented but with the power of the police force behind you, and the two cops are partners).Augmentations can include limb augs (including guns and blades), eye upgrades, computer interface upgrades, internal upgrades, ect. "I think we found him, Jack. Get that think away from my face." Yuka sighed, staring at the gun to her face. "Your Raul? Interesting. I don't know why Im here, this person kidnaped me." Yuka sighed, quickly tracing her hand over her left eye to make sure the eyepatch was still there. "Don't hurt me, I have no reason to be injured." Yuka snapped.

Jack thought:  Really?  Oh good grief and stared at Raul.  He points the handgun in his right at Rauls' head and says:  "Hi there mastermind.  Now tell me, why do you think that keeping people hostage is such a good idea?"

Raul fired a round over Jack's shoulder.

 

"Shutup dog! You say a damn word when I tell you that you can. Men, take them, follow me down to the hostages."

 

Two leuitenants approached Jack and Yuka with rifles drawn...

"I did nothing, I simply fallowed him, I don't see why are taking us. What are you going to do with us? Answer that. I expect an answer. Don't even question me at all because you are getting no answers, only complaints. If you are taking us somewhere where are you taking us? I have no reason to be taken away." Yuka blurted out, crossing her arms and looking up at the lieutenants and then Raul.

Jack looked over his almost shot shoulder and then back to Raul and his men.  He then thought:  This could have gone better.  Looks like I won't be getting answers right away.  Given the current circumstance, there seems like only one option to take for now.  I put the gun down and had myself in a surrendering pose.

Raul

 

"We are taking you down to join the rest of the hostages, just more for those CEOs in their high towers to worry about. This way!" Raul barked and began to march down toward the hostage holding area.

 

Dain

 

He heard the footsteps.... damn they weren't to the sewer's yet.

 

"Sir, we've got an issue... seems to be Raul coming down with... what looks to be two hostages. Orders?" He primed his gun.

"Hostage this, hostage that. Why am I your hostage? Who are you? Your name would be nice, I would like to know the name of the person taking me away. I'm Yuka and that is Jack." Yuka said, motioning towards Jake.

"Are you another person who is wanting my eye? I don't like people fighting over me because of my eye." she said simply. 

After listening to that, I thought:  How could they want something they haven't even seen?  But anyway, maybe I can think of a good plan once we arrive to where the hostages are at.

Hey everyone, seems like I've got some bad news. Firstly, I could not be more grateful to those of you who have stuck with the RP, and you all have my thanks. However, I've been thinking about this for several days, and as I said in the opening post, without enough participation, the goals of an RP of this size become incredibly difficult to attain if not impossible. I was interested in at least trying the concept even with only a moderate amount of people, but due to people being busy (Not of a fault of theirs) and having to leave for other reasons, the RP's goal of being on a global scape and be a consitenty larger escalations of conflicts has become a bit too lofty. I appreciate the effort of every one of you, but at the same time with the amount of people we have the RP both moves incredibly slowly and we lose out on the potential scale of conflicts that may have been possible. This is not the fault of anyones, it just happens, and that's that. This does not mean I have stopped being interested in the idea, though, and the amazing things you all have put forth in this thread so far have only redoubled my interest in the concept, but now I want to rework it and try to have it be an even stronger, attempt next time.

 

I once again thank you all for all your time, this post will be considered the ending of the RP, feel free to post more comments out of RP. I hope you all have an amazing holiday and I will certainly see you around!

That's completely fine Veritas.  I got to say, the RP was entertaining; a shame it has to end befoe getting really good.  But like you said, everyone has to be busy with somethings to no be able to post in this (heck, with all the school work I have, it's amazing I come on at all).  Hopefully there will be a better time for something like this.
