Captains Log: Day 14

It is the brick of a new day. We have been sailing for over two weeks now. With any luck, we should be coming close to our destination of the Sea Temple. Although, the skies have been nice and the water has been clear, which means sooner or later there will be something bad that will happen, thinking it could be a hard sea storm, I wish I could just get out of here. But I am starting to really enjoy this crew, and really hope that they can make it out alive. Though, I feel as if this is not everyone who was destined for the power of greatness. I will reported back soon

The air was nice and crisped on the waves of the shores. The sun was shining with a warm temperature in its path. The sky was peaceful and partly cloudy. All in all, it was a pretty nice day to be on the ocean in a pirate ship. Nick walked out of his cabin and walked on the dock. He noticed it was a beauty of a day and noticed that the boat was still running its course with magic. He then spotted Allison watching the waves. He walked over to her and smiled, "Yet another beautiful day, isn't it?" Allison then smiled as she looked at Nick. "Yes, it is nice out today. So how much further do you think it is til we reach the Sea Temple?" Allison asked. "Not too far, we should be in the bermuda triangle soon enough." Nick said. "Thats good." Allison replied.

Nessa ran inside quickly, shutting the door behind her. "This isn't exactly an ordinary ship." She remarked. The storm was horrible, though. "How far is the Sea Temple now?"

Fenris nodded. "A foolish venture," he said, "We might as well jump overboard to save us all the trouble." Night went patted Fenris on the shoulder. "Aw, come on, don't be such a downer," he said, "Ever thought there might be a reason that ships dissappear?"

"Short of storms or murderous sea monsters? No," Fenris replied.

(Sorry I haven't replied much-busy and my sister's a computer hog. I'll try to respond as much as I can)

Balthasar rolled his eyes. "Who let Debby Downer on board..."

Balthasar glanced over to a nearby window where he saw a land formation in the distance through the dark storm approaching them.

"Hey guys... Is that the place we're going to?" He said as he pointed to the window.

Matt heard the storm and knew it wasn't a good sign. "Something tells me that we may not come out of this one, and also that this was a bad day to end up on a strange boat and travel to the middle of nowhere, hey, Balthasar was it, what does the island look like?" asked Matt as he walked over to the window.

(I'm gonna leave the description up to Xeveemon because it's his rp and all haha)

"I can't quite make out all the details, this storms in the way. But that definitely looks like an island."

He turned to Allison. "Hey, you can't move the storm away from us, can you? It's all made out of water isn't it? Maybe then we can get a better view, and the ship won't sink on us."

Night approached the window. "An island?" he asked, "So does that mea we're finally here?" Fenris was nearby fixing his gun and improving the material. "If you have something in mind do it quickly."

"Guys, that is just an island. No, where we are going is still about ten minutes away. And it wouldn't be called Sea Temple if it was on land, we are going below." Nick said with a smile. But as soon as he finished, the ship was rocked so hard that it tipped over. "Damn, we are going under!" Nick said. He then took out a magic spear staff and then casted a spell. Everyone was teleported away from the ship and would all end up somewhere on the island.

DARKSIDE: THE CURSE OF THE SEA

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Island

Nick opened his eyes to see that he was on the shore of the island. "Hmh, I hate when that happens. I wonder where every one else is." Nick said looking around. He got off the ground, picked up his pirate hat, and started to see if he would be able to find anyone.

Allison was walking in the jungle part of the island. "Well, I don't see anyone. What was that storm anyways? Is that why no one makes it out?" Allison thought to herself. She walked around noticing there were not an animal or bug in sight. "Thats odd." Allison said.

(I want everyone to end up some where on the island that is different than others (basically your character has lost where the others went). It is a full circular island with a moutain in the middle, forest/jungle all around the moutain, and then about 20% of a shore around the island.)

Balthasar had materialized on top of the mountain, landing on his back onto the ground.

"What just happened?" He asked, getting up. He then glanced around to see that no one was around him. "Oh... Guess I'm on my own."

He looked around his surroundings until he saw steps leading up to a large temple.

"Is this the sea temple?" He asked himeself. "No, Nick said the sea temple wasn't on this island. In fact he said the temple was under water I think. Then what temple is..."

He didn't know why, but Balthasar was somehow drawn to the temple on the mountain. It almost seemed.... familiar to him. But why? He had been to a lot of places, but anywhere near the Bermuda Triangle wasn't on his list. Still, he was somehow attracted to the mysterious temple, and without even trying to resist the urge, he went up to the steps to explore the temple.

(I gotta head out now, talk to ya later guys)

Without him knowing, Balthasar was being followed by a figure in the shadows.

Balthasar reached the entrance to the temple, Where there were many images and some type of writing all over the temple walls.

"This place... Why do I know it so well? Have I really seen it before.?"

With all of his might he pushed the large doors open, to reveal a large entryway into the temple. Balthasar stepped inside.

"Well, where to now?" He said as he saw three pathways. After looking at the pathways for a while, he seemed to be pulled by some non existent force to the left.

"Left it is then." He said monotonously, walking down the left pathway as the large entry doors closed behind him.

The figure got inside just in time before the doors closed. It then followed quietly behind Balthasar.

Balthasar went down a few more corridors, choosing the direction in which to go purely based on instinct, until he came to a huge room, with a type of alter in the center behind a large stuatue of a person sitting at a throne. Located all around the room were pictures of wars, battles, and a familiar scene of a story he'd heard about once before.

"Hey that's the three main Greek gods," Balthasar said as he approached the wall. "This is about how that one titan ate his children except for Zeus, who freed them all. What was his name again... Kronos?"

He had gotten goosebumps after saying that name. There was something about it that made him feel weird.

Balthasar looked over to the statue of the man sitting on the throne. "Is that supposed to be.... Kronos?" He said, approaching the statue as his goosebumps got worse.

He noticed a stand in front of the statue with a stone tablet on it. He walked over to the tablet and noticed it was written in ancient Greek writing. Yet, for some reason, he was able to read it.

"When the one born in the Temple of Kronos returns to his birthplace, he shall receive his ability to control the flow of time. For he is the son of Kronos."

He was so confused by the fact that he could read ancient Greek so easily, especially considering the language he'd grown up with all his life was English. He thought he saw something else on the tablet, but it was very dusty to tell. So he placed his hand on the cold tablet in an attempt to dust off the tablet. Only when his hand came in contact with the tablet, a flow of energy rushed into him, as he flew back hitting the wall and slowly falling unconscious.

"What the..." He muttered before passing out, as the eyes of the Kronos statue shined an emerald glow before fading away again.

The figure that had been following Balthasar entered the area. The first image we could see is a spiral cane with a snakes head on it. "Hmh, I thought it couldn't be done, that it was only a myth. Well then, I guess it is time to enlist my apprentice." a mans voice could be heard followed by a dark laugh. The full image of the man was then revealed. He wore a black top hat, wore a dark suit, had dark suit shoes, had long fuzzy straight brown hair, and had yellowish brownish eyes. The man was tall about 6'5'-6'7'. The man walked over to Balthasar and awoke him with a spell.

Balthasar slowly awoke.

"Ow, my head..." He said rubbing the area of pain. He glanced over to the man in the top hat, and quickly scooted away while still on the ground, suprised that there was someone else in the temple.

"Who- who are you?" Balthasar asked. "Did you follow me in here or something?"

"Yes and yes. My name is Quintus, Balthasar. I have waited for your return for years now. You took longer to get here then I had thought." Quintus said with a smile.

Balthasar thought of this man as friendly, at least he did for the time being, so he stood up and stretched.

(Man I have a big tendency to pass out...) He thought to himself. Then he looked to Quintus. "How'd you know I would come here? I didn't even know where this place was until I met Nick and the others. And what just happened?" He asked in a bit of a rush.

"I knew that on this date in history, the son of Kronos would come back to where he was born and find out that he was one of the most special people on this planet. And so I waited and watched over you as your protector. It was I who even put you on that ship and made the harsh storm just so you can finally be who you really are. Now I know I may have overstep my boundaries, but it need to happen some time. As for what you just experienced, that is your father passing on your powers to you. Now I have also served as a watcher of Nick's group ever since I saw a monster in the woods." Quintus said.

Balthasar stopped rubbing his head.

"Wait, I have powers now? This is all so crazy, although with what I've seen so far..."

Then he glanced back at Quintus. "Wait, but why have you protected me? What do you want with me anyways?" He asked with a little bit of an attitude behind his voice.

"Your father wish was for me to teach you. Now your father was a cruel man, but when you were born he knew that you were the most special of all his kids. So he enlisted a Sorcerer to guide you. I am here to fulfill his wish to help you become one of the greatest. And you technicallny have the ability to perform powers, such as immobilization and combustion of molecules, but you won't be able to perform them until you learn how to control them. So it is my job to teach you how to do just that. Now come, we must find your friends and tell show them the way back on course for the Sea Temple." Quintus said.

Balthasar took this in, then nodded, following Quintus.

(Me, the son of a titan? Is that even possible?) He thought to himself.

"I wonder where Nick and the others are anyways," He said aloud, wondering if Quintus knew the answer to that himself

"I'd say one is on the shore, another in the jungle, and the rest have yet to respond." Quintus said using his magical powers to locate everyone. "I have a question for you, why is it that you are always the one in trouble or causes trouble?" Quintus asked Balthasar.

Balthasar shrugged. "I'm always on the move because I have to, so after I found out that I couldn't have friends because of my necessary moving habits, I got tired of trying to care for someone when I'd have to leave them anyways." He continued down the stairs with Quintus. "I went from not caring about anyone else, to not even caring about myself. I started drinking, getting into fights, and now sometimes I'll wake up on the side of a road somewhere with no memory of what happened. I suppose I didn't have a reason to care about anyone or myself, so I just got into all the trouble that came my way." He continued walking quietly.

"Well, noting how you were living life, I decided to stay out of it, but made sure that you didn't die. Now I think you should try and care about yourself and others again. It seems to me like you have found people you can be friends with. Also, I think you should not get too attached to any girl, that would make you less focus on your training, even though Allison really isn't taken." Quintus said.

Balthasar grinned. "Oh, so she is available? So she's playing hard to get, huh? Well, that's only gonna make me try harder." He said as he picked up his walking pace. "You're gonna train me huh? When do we start? It's cool to think I'm like Allison. I wonder how strong I can be..." He pondered as he continued to walk.
