A possible future for the Spirit Dream Eaters?

Posted

Hi, guys. I hope you have spent a great Halloween. I'm sure Jack Skellington has been pretty busy this last night.

Anyway, I want to share with you something. You see, the Dream Eaters are a point of "Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance" that has been intriguing me since the beginning; as some of you already know. Surely you have noticed too, but I see in the Spirits Dream Eaters a reflect of the characters from another popular game which I'm also fan: Pokemon. I loved when I played with party members and allies in the previous games, but the Spirits really makes me wish they return in future games.

Half of Kingdom Hearts universe is Disney, and one of the main phrases of Disney's universe is about "Making the Dreams Come True". With that, I think it should be possible to make the Dream Eaters exist in the "real world" (The Realm of Light). How?, well, maybe by the power of memories (KH:CoM). It's said that sometimes dreams represent or memories of past experiences. So, if the Castle of Oblivion was able to materialize Sora's memories about all the places he visited and all the character he met, I think it could also materialize "copies" of those memories and give them the form of a Dream Eater that represent Sora's memories of that place. Think about it, many of the Dream Eaters we have seen could represent Sora's adventures in some of Disney's worlds: Pegaslick is Sora's memories from Olympus Coliseum (because of Pegasus), Tatsu Steed from Atlantica, Aura Lion from The Pride Lands, Ghostabocky from Halloween Town...etc. Don't you think it would be very possible?

I have been thinking about another funny act. As you know, the main trinity of Kingdom Hearts are Sora, Kairi and Riku. If you compare them with the more recent Pokemon Games, I think Sora can fit in the Male Protagonist role, Kairi could have the Female Protagonist role and Riku could be the Rival. Funny, huh? I even realized which Pokemon would fit better for Sora, Riku and Kairi. The best generation for them would be the first one, in Kanto, and their start Pokemon would be the ones which fit with their names:

- Charmander for Sora, who would end having a Charizard. As a Pokemon similar to a flying dragon, it suits with Sora's name that means "Sky".

- Squirtle for Kairi, who would end having a Blastoise. As a Pokemon that is a giant water turtle, it suits perfectly with Kairi's names that means "Sea".

- Bulbasaur for Riku, who would end having a Venusaur. As a Grass Type Pokemon linked to plants (and by extension, to earth) it suits very well with Riku's name, which means "land".

*NOTE: Honestly, I think for Riku it would suit better Torterra, from Sinnoh. As a Grass/Ground Type Pokemon, it's more linked to earth than Venusaur. Besides, Torterra is very similar to Venusaur. To avoid having two Turtles Pokemon, I think Kairi could also have Empoleon as a replacement of Blastoise. The problem is Sora because, as Sinnoh's Fire Starter doesn't fly (Infernape), he will still have Charizard.

Sora, Riku and Kairi could also be linked to some legendary Pokemon that also shares their relationship with "Sky", "Sea" and "Earth". Those are the main legendary Pokemon from the third Generation (Hoenn), with the games Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. Check it:

- Sora could be linked with Rayquaza, which represents the atmosphere (the sky).

- Kairi could be linked with Kyogre, which represents the hydrosphere (the seas and oceans).

- Riku could be linked with Groudon, which represents the lithosphere (the land).

Well, what do you think? Do you share my opinion that Spirit Dream Eaters should return in future games and live in "the real world" as regular beings?

Yes i think they should return for future kh games although i like the Spirit Dream Eaters a lot!

you never know. maybe Sora gets them as his own ability or Nomura plans using them in final battle against Xehanorts. I can somehow see scene in my mind, where Dream Eaters comes to 7 lights aid into Keyblade Graveyard (or wherever the final battle is fought)
