Since I am a newbie at the popular mod for Arma 2, I'd decided to start a clan so that fellow members on this site can all play together. I'm pretty lonely too, and I have no friends who play the game so might as well grab a bunch of people on here to play with!

For some of you who don't know, Day Z is a zombie survival mod and it's extremely realistic. You have to travel a large map, and search for items you'll need to survive. You can choose to team up with people, or kill everyone to loot their supplies.

You need Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead to play Day Z, which is a free mod. You can purchase Arma 2: Combined Operations which include both Operation Arrowhead, and the regular Arma 2 game to play Day Z. Right now on steam it's seventeen dollars, which is not bad. It's going to be that way until the 27th, I believe and then it's going to cost from twenty to thirty dollars.

Now since this is a clan, there's some stuff that has to be go over.

We work together as a team! So please don't argue with one another, nor should you try to steal from each other. If you have a problem with a person, take it outside the game.

Also, if someone is in need of help, try to help them if you can.

As with people not in the clan, don't go randomly shooting people. If you're a bandit other people will know, and thus the clan would be targeted. If someone's friendly, just let them pass on by.

If someone shoots at you for no random reason, be my guess and take the asshole down!

Anyway, I wanted to see who would actually be willing to join before a official clan is created.

I've been playing Day Z for quite some time. I would love to hunt each and everyone one of you down one by one, so I can safely devour your corpses in the wilderness, away from the zombies. set up a small outpost for Kh13 members only and fight off zombies and bandits with you guys!

 

Also, I say we adopt a "weapon= shoot on sight" policy. Anyone not with us move holster their weapon 5 seconds after the warning or be shot. That's how I survive anyway.

That sounds awesome. I don't think anyone except for a few people on here has Day Z If anything, are you being serious? I'd love to fight alongside you, especially since you're very clever.

Thanks, my computer has been acting up though so my performance hasn't been optimal but I can still play, things just get a little rough in a firefight though.

Ahh the controls are a real challenge. Once you know what they are, it's easy to get used to. Wan't me to give you a link to a guide I used? I read it and figured it out really quick.

Used to play Dayz and got bored of it. Maybe playing with you guys should be more fun.

Well we have KH13 steam group already. Sad thing is that we have something like 7 or 8 members there. (Lack of PC gamers)

And for the love of all things that are good, please play in third person unless you are shooting. The first person camera is horrible and playing in third person increases your situational awareness as you will be able to see a little behind you and to your sides. Go into first person when shooting because the third person crosshairs are a little off. 

 

Also, the big cities like Cherno and Electro are nothing but a bloodbath. Everything you can find there can be found elsewhere. It's basically a giant free for all on those areas. The reason why they are so populated is because you can spawn close by and there are hospitals there. If you need to go to the cities for any reason, be prepared for a firefight. 

 

And NEVER call out friendly. It's redundant and will only get you killed. Anyone who is also friendly won't generally fire on you, and calling friendly to bandits only lets them know you are nearby. These bandits will proceed to hunt you down and kill you. In general, never announce your presence unless you KNOW you will win the battle. 

 

In general, be as paranoid as you can possibly be. Assume everywhere you go is a death trap and everyone you see is hostile. This will keep you alive much longer than you may think. It's one thing if you believe everyone is out to get you, it's another when it's actually true.
