Everyone receives a letter.

 

Dear Contestant,

You have been accepted to compete in this year’s Omni verse Grand Tournament!

The victor will be titled strongest fighter in existence and will gain a power that none has ever had. The battles will be completely random, the winners of each match will be moved up to the next round and the matches will be randomized once more. This sequence will continue till the end of the tournament. Everyone will stay one our ground and sleep in dorms that will hold four people each. Later in the tournament you will be moved to more isolated dorms once others are sent to the loser’s brackets. The losers of each match will battle in a sub-tournament to reinsure who is the greatest. Everyone should be able to face everyone in this tournament. If you feel that you have not fought everyone by the end of this tournament, please speak to the tournament host and referee, Elite.

Rules:

1)   Stay in the ring

2)   If you are down for longer than the count of ten you loose

3)   No battling outside of the arena

4)   If a battle ends in a draw, I will test your stamina other ways

5)   Don’t piss me off

Neena nodded and continued walking towards the arena. It seemed that Silver had won, and the rematch was going to begin. Neena knew that she should leave Yuka to talk to whomever he wished. Neena was usually hesitant to assassinate family members. She knew how hard that was, and it was often not what her clients truly wanted to better themselves. But she had been so eager to redeem herself for almost killing an innocent, and Yuka seemed so sure of herself. Oh well. Hopefully, Yuka knew what she was doing. Neena found herself in the stands. She looked around for a place to sit, and saw Silver. She walked up to him. "Hey, did you win your match?" she asked.

I looked away from Garry and the new competitor, and towards the arena where only one fighter stood. "Still one more to even show up..." I mumbled to myself as I looked around. (I don't even know what he looks like, why am I looking around?) I thought and contradicted myself. Looking around I glanced at the new competitor again. He was a wielder of darkness, clearly, even his appearance shows it. He seems more carefree and enthusiatic than serious though, it doesn't suit him, in my opinion. Elsewhere, there was a suit of armor...entering a tournament while protected in that, clever of whomever was within. I also saw Neena and Silver conversating, they seemed like good friends already. "Maybe I should try and make more friends here..." 'How does it feel to have all your friends used by me and my siblings? Humans are so pathetic.' I clenched my head again...I felt as if someone was entering my own mind and screwing with it. Envy...the one person I had ever despised and dreaded through my life...was torturing me again...even when Envy died. But...why? Why not Greed, the one demon I befriended? 'Your grandmother, your friend, your comrade, and hundreds of innocents. All their souls have been taken and destroyed by me-- as well as their bodies. Come at me, with all you've got.' "I'm getting sick of this..." I mumbled furiously. My eyes were tiresome, and while still watery from all these grievances in my mind, they burned with a fiery hatred.

Silver nonchalantly about; not truly interested in much at the moment, but was satisfied with getting an idea of where exactly this 'arena' was. He turned though, when he heard Neena approach him.

"Oh, 'Ello Neena." Silver said, turning to face her, "My match? Yeah..I won. I guess. Vergil mostly gave up, but I guess that means I won." Silver said, scratching his chin with an awkward expression.

I must be the worst fighter to only win because the other guy gave up. He thought, soon rubbing his pitch black hair.

Gexln turned and walked towards the stands, he wanted to see the rematch between the two fighters. He dragged Darkness' Sorrow along the ground beside him, wondering whether it would be a good idea or not. He shrugged. I'll find out later on he thought to himself. He took a seat at the stands. Looking up at Elite, he shouted, "When are you going to fight?"

(I PMed him... if he doesn't post soon i'm going to disqualify him for no appearance in the ring)

(I'd be happy to take his place if he doesn't show, with a different charactet of course. He seems to have last been online not long after your post here, Zephyr)

Elite looked around looking for Daxam. "Looks like a no show......" He looked down at Jason. "It's your lucky day... you just became the victor........" Elite then held out his right hand. "Now we move to round two.... Anyone who has been defeated move into the ring.... Victors return to your dorms."

Gexln gave up, clearly elite wasn't going to answer his question. He decided that the best course of action, for now, was to move into the ring and wait to see who his next opponent will be. With a sigh, he walked into the ring, he was still fuming over the fact that he had lost. He was still plotting. He sat down over near the side of the ring and waited.

Hearing Elite's announcement, Yuka stood up from her dorm bed, making her way over to the arena. Once there, she sat beside Joshua.

(Certainly.)

 

Vashle rubbed the back of his head and grabbed his back,getting it on his shoulder. "Well,I'm going."Vashle says as he started to walk away. Garry stared. "Already?"He asks. Vashle noded. "Yeah. I came to try out my new moves. Nothing more nor less. I have no more to do here. Besides,I better get back before I get in trouble with Master Joe."Vashle says as he walked away. Garry stared and smiled a bit before looking back foward. "Hope to see ya around then."Garry says. Vashle smiled and waved. "See ya!"Vashle says as he kept walking and eventually dissapeared in a flurry of flames of darkness. Garry smiled and losed his eyes a bit and started to hum a song.

I was a bit confused now. Garry seemed to have forfeited on our match yet Elite declared him the winner afterwards. Hmm. I supposed I'd go by what Elite had said. I sat in the arena, uncertain of where I was certainly supposed to go. I looked beside me to see Yuka there as well. 'All of your friends have been quite useful bodies. How about this one? She'll be no different.' I looked down after that memory, not wanting others to see my mind in distress. My memories of Envy were like mind torture at this point.

The losers all against each other. Oh boy that ought a be a good one. Being a good kid for once the stubborn teen remained in his room. Slightly musing to himself at the thoughts of what would happen.

Gexln scratched his head, thinking. "Wonder who i'm going to be against. Whose skull shall i crush this time?" he asked quietly, thinking aloud.(come on guys..)

"Hey, Joshua? Are you okay?" Yuka asked, almost childishly.

At least Ace is gone. Yuka didn't have to worry about being teased by some go-lucky boy who is younger then her.

Elite began talking to the ones who were defeated. "You four shall fight in a two on two fight. Joshua and Yuka versus Virgil and Gexln. This battle will let the other have time to rest and recoup from the earlier battles."

(Envy...is she doing this in my mind because I killed Garry...? Maybe...but I probably do deserve it...) I thought to myself while glancing at the one named Gexin. His words unnerved me a bit. Not too much, luckily. I then looked back at Yuka beside me, glaring into her eyes unknowingly. Unless both of those eyes were green, then I would know that Yuka really is...Yuka. "Yes...I'm fine Yuka." I mumbled raspily, and with an obvious lie. "What about you?" I asked afterwards, still with a minor glance to her eyes. 'You four shall fight on a two-on-two fight. Joshua and Yuka versus Virgil and Gexin.' Elite had said, springing me back to my mind. 'So...Vergil isn't on our side after all.' 'Of course. He's with Dante; he's Dante's brother.' "What they're doing...its not really...evil...is it...? It doesn't seem like that..." "I guess we're against them." I muttered to Yuka, glancing mainly at the other Vergil.

"I'll be okay. If you end up controlling my blood, try to get a hold of yourself." Yuka said, petting Joshua's head a bit with a smile.

Gexln looked at his opponents. Gah...teamwork he thought to himself. He was against a girl with a weird eye, and a kid that controlled peoples' bodies? Gexln looked at Elite. "Is this some kind of joke?" he asked. With a sigh of disbelief, he turned to look at Virgil. "Hey, don't slow me down" he said gruffly. Looking once again at Joshua and Yuka, he held Darkness' Sorrow at the ready. "This is going to be fun" he said coldly, eyes glowing a faint but very real red, signifying darkness.

~Joshua~"....Blood's not going to be a problem right now, Yuka..." I said quietly. I had explained to her that my abilities constantly changed, whether for better or worse. (I bet they think I can only control blood and have nothing else to do....) I thought to myself while glaring at Gexin and Virgil. 'This is going to be fun.' I heard Gexin say...I see, he was a fighter, he wanted to fight, and he probably wouldn't mind killing. I hated these kinds of people. But I never said anything about it. 'All that potential gone to waste. Look at what you can do, all this destruction, and you don't even want to kill someone you hate?! What a modest and righteous way to go, but it'll give me a major advantage.' For once, all this of Envy is actually getting me more emotional, which could be helpful here...

"Come on." Yuka smiled, grabbing her daggers and removing the eyepatch off of her left eye.

Yuka turned to Joshua, for the moment, her eye was covered by her hair.

"Hey, I won't let anyone kick my ass this time." she smiled, making her way to her desinated area in the arena, slightly repositioning her daggers.

"No this is not a joke... now quit trying to act like your above me because i am certain that you're nothing." Elite gave Gexln a glare that if looks could kill, Gexln would have fell over dead right on the spot. "Now the Loser's sweep will now begin! The team that wins will head to the next round the team that loses will be sent home and will have this event erased from their memories." He said simply. "Fight!"

~Joshua~(Vergil...he's been my enemy before, and here another Virgil is, my opponent). I thought and looked at Yuka, nodding and stepping forward after Elite spoke. (Hydrogen is the most common element, practically everywhere...then there's oxygen, not as abundant but I only need half as many, and...) I thought, gallons of water dotted across the entire tournament area. I could've made much more, but I needed to save a lot to breathe in and live in the first place. I gathered all the water I had practically conjured into one large stream and smashed it quickly onto Gexin and Virgil simultaneously while boiling the water intensely. Before the water would evaporate, I would put it at just the right temperature to keep it in its liquid form. I then continued boiling Gexin's and Virgil's skin with third degree burning water, simultaneously and continuously, forming a colder layer of moist skin on Yuka to keep her at a good temperature if she came in contact with any of it.

Gexln's eyes widened in shock as the water came rushing towards him. He held the blade of Darkness' Sorrow directly in front of him, blocking most of the water and parting it to the sides. The blade struggled under the pressure, but he held it strong. Small bits of water flicked into Gexln's face, stinging it, but he avoided the majority. "Well nice to know we're not taking it easy" he said to himself, hoping he hadn't parted the water straight into Vergil. His mind began working furiously, trying to figure out a way to turn this around. He took a single step forward, parting the water even further and advancing slowly towards Joshua.
