(Spoilers) Room of Awakening and Room of Sleep

Posted

In regards to the Room of Awakening and Room of Sleep, do we know exactly what the purposes of these rooms are?

So if im correct:

Ventus is in the room of awakening which is hidden in castle oblivion

Aqua's armour is in the room of sleep which is hidden underneath the lab in radiant garden

Is there major importance to these rooms?

plus, only aqua knows the secrets to castle oblivion, does that mean that she might be the one to locate ventus?

Ventus is in the room of awakening

Aqua's armor is in the room of sleep

They most likely do have importance

I highly suspect Aqua will be the one to locate Ventus

This is one of the many things(Dark Margin, Roxas time in the Org., Riku and Mickey's absence, etc) Nomura said he wanted to explain/expand on either before or during KH3.

Care to explain a bit more ?

Because room of awakening has major importance, while the room of sleep, (besides holding Aqua's armor) has little importance.

so... the rooms themselves aren't really connected in any way? (besides the similar names)

I think that the main reason for the room of sleep is to show that Xemnas still knew Aqua  since he was the one who visited it. Similarly with the room of awakening Xemnas wanted to find it and I think he somehow knew or felt that Ventus was in the castle. This is my opinion though and could be totally wrong( just like everything else I thought I could think ahead about in KH)

Despite being teased for the longest very little is known about these rooms. What we do know:

Room of Sleep/Repose :

It's located underneath the castle at Radiant Garden

The Organization had made it.

Xemnas apparently "sleeps" in there. (Granted, the name)

Aqua's armour and Keyblade is kept there.

Xemnas talks to someone there but it's unknown who but another voice is heard.

Xemnas seems to use the room to access memories.

Room of Waking:

It's located somewhere in Castle Oblivion.

It was once the "throne room" of Land of Departure's castle.

Only the LoD's Successor can access the room, the currently being Aqua.

Xemnas wants to find it to find "the other friend" but has yet to locate it.

Ven's body is sleeping there.

This is the general gist, but aside from this there doesn't to be much known about the rooms. It's murky but in general the Room of Sleep seems mainly for accessing memories and the Room of waking is essentially a very private "storage room". Since the RoW is probably much older than the RoS I don't think they were meant to correlate with each other directly.

I order to return Ventus's Heart to his body, Aqua must lead the way through Castle Oblivion or something. The Chamber of Awakening is meant to hold Ventus's body safe until his Heart awakens and returns.

The Chamber of Sleep is were Aqua's armor lay after she sacrificed it to save Terra-Xehanort, and apparently Xemnas went there to regain his memories or something.

Apparently, the apprentices (founders of the Organization XIII) all know of the Chamber of Sleep. As for the Chamber of Awakening, Xemnas and Xigbar know of it. Saïx was told by Xemnas to look for it, and in turn he gave Axel that mission, but neither seems to have known the purpose. Zexion knew of it and the 'friend', but remotely.
