Hobart has experienced record heat today. Hobart reached 41.8 degrees celsius today, and it's the highest ever recorded temperature for Hobart. It's not out of the question it may go even higher this month given the current heat wave in Australia and another one in a week's time.

 

For those who don't know, Hobart is the capital city of Tasmania. It is the closest part of Australia to the South Pole.

sheesh!!! that's crazy!!!! i'm in queensland and it's supposed to get to around 30ish... i feel bad for you guys but im not surprised, i went to horsham (near(ish) to melbourne) a couple of years back and it got to 48 degrees!!!!! i litterally couldnt go to sleep it was so hot lol

I'd honestly like to live there ._. I like hot rather then cold x3 and here in Colorado it's been pretty cold lately. Im used to the cold but still it sucks.
