I just beat Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns of The Patriots last night and I have to say that it has to be one of the most emotional games I've ever played. It had a lot of sad moments that made me want to feel bad for the characters. Like with the B&B (Beauty and the Beast) Unit. They had to endure a lot of turtore and sad stuff to become what they were now. Drebin telling all of those stories about their childhood made things kinda sad and kinda makes you feel sorry for them. Then here's what I consider to be the most saddest scene in the entire game: Naomi's death. I mean oh my gosh that was just a tear jerker right there. I mean I didn't cry about it but I know that had to make some people cry especially with "Enclosure" playing in the background along with those flashbacks of Sniper Wolf's death. Dang...that has to be the most saddest scene in a video game ever.
But I also liked how they made a crap ton of references to the other Metal Gear Solid games. Like all four members of the B&B unit were a reference to the bosses of MGS1. Then there was the car chase scene where you had to ride in EVA's motorcycle to escape Raging Raven and to protect "Big Boss" corpse. That was one of the best moments in the game along with fighting Liquid-Ocelot at the end of the game. I liked how your health bar changes as you fought him. That was an epic boss fight. Loved how they remixed two songs from MGS1 and MGS2. i was amazed by that and it filled me with nostalgia.
So overall, I have to say MGS4 was one of the best and most emotional games ever made. No other video game can come that close to being emotional depressing, nostalgic, and awesome at the same time. My mind was blown away at this game.
