So over the years we've gained around 500 pokemon to the original 151. Catching them all has become quite a feat at this point. And as we've seen some of the new ones have looked...less than desirable. My question is do you think they'll ever stop at a certain number? I think they might but really it is their way to make some extra money. They could of course cycle through old pokemon for future games if they ever do stop making them. They do have enough of them to do that after all. xD

But anyway, what about you? Thoughts? Comments? Random hate towards puppies?

I wasn't talking about the series ending. Just the creation of new pokemon slowing down.

It might slow down a bit but like I said there are 50 billion other variations of Pokémon to be made. After all, Pokémon can go from animals, gears to DNA. They can always make pre-evolutions/another evolution of any Pokémon. XY is going to have less new Pokémon than previous generation since the rest are going to be evolution stages from Gen 1 - Gen 5. There are going to be more ways to create it.

When they will run out of ideas will either be around the next decade or so.

True. Like I said it is their way of making money so I doubt it'd be any time soon if they did. I do think it's a possibility out there that they could do it if they ever decided to. They could end up shifting towards it gradually by doing what they're doing with x and y's numbers. And yeah, pretty much anything can be a pokemon after all xD coughsarcophaguscough

Lets not forget Gen I was meant to have 190 Pokémon but they saved some of the Pokémon for later Generations, mainly for Gen II. These Pokémon got decoded and became "Missingno"s.

Also a magnet that evolves into more magnets, land mine which evolves into two landmines, trashbag that evolves into a dumpster, cell/cancer, stove, land mower, anything related to Rotom really, candle that evolves into a lamp that evolves into a chandelier, ice cream and much more.

Anyway, being able to catch all the Pokemon is much better than buying them as DLC like what happened in Final Fantasy XIII-2 where you have to buy monsters encounters.Did We ever bought a Legendary Pokemon as paid DLC???? I don't think you've paid 5 dollars to catch Arceus or Mewtwo, and even Event Pokemon are given to you for FREE wether you've got the event Pokemon from the Mystery Gift Feature or have participated and a real life event.

Even the company is aware of how ridiculous this is. Have you noticed that nowhere in the games, manga, nor anime does it say "Gotta Catch 'em all!" Anymore?

That's why I said that they never said that catching them all is mandatory,it's just a freakin catchphrase, there are other franchises that uses catchphrases that is not mandatory to the overall experience.

Besides, can you really catch 600 Pokemon?????

It was kinda easy to get all 151 Pokémons.

Nowadays it's impossible to get ALL Pokémons.

I'll give 1000€ to the person who catches them all after Pokémon X and Y comes out

I have them all on my Pearl version, but I didn't have the patients to transfer the ones I needed over to Black/Black 2 to complete the Dex. So I have one of every Pokemon, just not all on the same game lol...

Over 700 pokemon now. xD Nintendo is driving slaves if they think we can catch um all.

Hell, even the new games no longer have the "Gotta Catch'em all" phrase anymore

Completing the Pokedex is just a side quest. The main goal of every game is to become a Pokemon Master and defeat the evil organizations in said games
