I'm gonna get into Metal Gear now...

Posted

Any advice for me? Should I start with the original game, or should I just kick off with the HD collection? I'm relatively sure that some of you here play it, so I thought you guys might help. Google failed me.

I recommend starting with the metal gear solid series (I assume you were talking about the metal gear series in general). Play the original, then the hd collection ones in their order, then 4 is my recommended order.

I meant to say Solid in the first post. So, yea, I should get the PSOne Classic off the store before anything?I read that the actual chronological order is all topsy turvy, does that matter?

The actual order is something like peace walker or 3 first, then peace walker or 3 (whichever wasn't first), then 1, 2, 4 but it doesn't really matter. Playing them in the number order is what I did and I understood it pretty fine.

It would have been cool of them to pack in a code for the PSX MGS in the HD collection...Oh well, I'll probably buy the HD collection first, but just put it on the backburner until I play the first. Can you give me an idea of what I'm in for? From what I hear, the story is crazy as balls.

Great story, with some really hilarious parts. Especially in 2 xDGood stealth game, awesome cutscenes and a ton of different types of bosses ranging from hard to funny to tedious to epic.

Sounds like my kind of game, then.

I agree with Weiss

I'd play them in order :)

Start with MGS 1, then ply HD collection: start with MGS 2 then with MGS 3 and then MGS PW and after that get MGS4

The story goes in order: MGS 3, MGS PW, then MGS 1, 2 and 4, but I recommend not to play on this order if you don't want to spoil yourself small detail and leave yourself confused.
