WIth the Kingdom Hearts HD remakes and the hopefully soon to be Final Fantasy X remake, I've been thinking how amazing it would be to have a Final Fantasy VII compilation remake.

 

a New, overhaul of Final Fantasy VII (up to todays graphics standards and voice acting, ect.)

HD upgrades to Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus (similar to kingdom hearts HD remix),

and a copy of Advent Children

 

all of my wants right here ^

To update FFVII they would basically have to make a whole new game. Square would have to be very confident that it would be profitable given how much time and money they would have to put into it. So I'm not sure if they would. But I hope they do one day.

They've already said they are not remaking FF7 until another Final Fantasy Game surpasses it in all ways, including how well it sells, and how well recieved it is.

Considering how hyped up people have been for Versus....It might be The One.

I'd love that. If Versus XIII can meet FFVII in sales, and i hope it does, then WE CAN GET A REMAKE. WE CAN GET FFVII, CRISIS CORE, BEFORE CRISIS, AND MAYBE THE ADVENT CHILDREN MOVIE ON PS4!(Because, its obvious now that the remake will not be on PS3)

It would be great if they did but they won't be doing it for quite some time since they'll need something to get sales as good as/better than it.

This exactly.  I seriously don't expect we'll ever see a Final Fantasy VII remake.  Not saying it wouldn't be great--because it would--but I think a FF7 remake would be some serious work, not to mention money.  Square's not going to take the time to remake it if their new installments are a success--unless they were really, really desperate...because desperate men do desperate things.
