So I'll start first.

It's not a perfect game but it's a damn good one. The story was engaging and the characters were quite lovable aside from a few others.

As for the gameplay, I don't really use ALL the vigors. I only used the crows and devil's kiss. Same goes for the weapons as well. I rarely use the RPG, and I've been using the pistol and carbine all the way through. Maybe it's because I was playing on normal mode. =/

I've yet to go through the game the second time but I'll type it out on what I've remembered during my playthrough.

- THAT ENDING OH MY GOD! I'll be honest here, I've expected a plot twist in the game but not NUMBERS of layers of plot twists! Obviously Elizabeth's father will be Comstock but I never expected her to be Booker's daughter from his timeline. That really blew my mind. I totally don't know who Anna was since he kept on repeating about it. That was.. quite mindblowing. Rapture obviously and the infinite universe of lighthouses.

- They really dealt with the racism really REALLY well! It's not too the extreme to me but it really captured that racism topic during that period of time.

- After Elizabeth was kidnapped by the songbird and booker went through the time rift, he said July, I thought it was like.. 6 months? But I never expect it to be like 70 years later.

- I still don't get it about the luteces though. Are they twins or a lutece from a different timeline? Like the male lutece is from another time and the female lutece is from another time aka Comstock time.

- Any of you guys have any idea how Elizabeth got her powers? I'm still not sure. I never collected all the voxaphones though. I've yet to go through my 2nd playthrough and exploring around even more.

Imo it's a perfect game.

I used vigors sometimes for the rocket launchers, patriots and Handymen. Also carbine is perfect, used that almost all the time.

I expected Booker to be Comstock actually, but didn't expect anything else at all.

They did, just annoyed at the fact people (I saw it most on Tumblr and Youtube) just hate the game because it has racism. They missed the entire point, and it's like they never picked up a history textbook before.

- After Elizabeth was kidnapped by the songbird and booker went through the time rift, he said July, I thought it was like.. 6 months? But I never expect it to be like 70 years later.

It is 6 months through a tear, but it wasn't actually 6 months. Constants and variables through the tears, remember?

- I still don't get it about the luteces though. Are they twins or a lutece from a different timeline? Like the male lutece is from another time and the female lutece is from another time aka Comstock time.

Twins from different tears, they weren't meant to be with each other at all. It's like the male version of Rosalind Lutece. They were killed by Comstock but managed to survive by tears. It's really the same person, just one is a male from an alternate reality and one is a female in another reality.

- Any of you guys have any idea how Elizabeth got her powers? I'm still not sure. I never collected all the voxaphones though. I've yet to go through my 2nd playthrough and exploring around even more.

In theory, I believe she got her powers through all the tests Rosalind Lutece gave her without her consent in the tower. Another theory is that she grasped the power when she lost her finger, and since the tear energy contacted the blood and went through her entire body, leaving her with the ability to control tears. But it's a theory, some of the topics in the game is left unexplained yet hinted for theoretical reasons.

So I'll start first.

- Any of you guys have any idea how Elizabeth got her powers? I'm still not sure. I never collected all the voxaphones though. I've yet to go through my 2nd playthrough and exploring around even more.

"What makes the girl

different? I suspect is has less to do with what she is, and rather

more with what she is not. A small part of her remains from where she

came. It would seem the universe does not like its peas mixed with its

porridge."

Clever things in the game

- This would be Booker 124 time going to Columbia, going from what twins say to him thought-out game. Lines like he doesn't row or I'm surprised that didn't kill him, the chalkboard in beginning of showing number times that they when though this and when goes heads or tails.

- The game might be connected to the original bioshock

http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2013/03/29/the-one-twist-in-bioshock-infinite-you-might-have-missed-completely/

- The game is very deep and is very easy to miss things. It's also very smart game

- Bioshock: Infinite is perfect game for me but i understand why's not for everyone. To me it's my goty for 2013 only think can beat it is last of us

Thanks guys. I've had yet to go through the entire game the second time to fully explore it.

So Elizabeth got her powers from when she lost her finger.

The only mystery thing remains... well to me, is about the songbird. I've read that the songbird is gonna be somewhat related to the first bioshock and future dlc will be about the songbird. I gotta admit, our encounter with the songbird in the game was not much. We've only encountered it 3 times? 4, if we counted Elizabeth summoning him during the final fight.

Since I'm the only one so far who thinks Infinite isn't such a perfect game, the least I could do is to give my own reasons:

- The only thing that made me felt that it's not a perfect game was because of the gameplay. I kinda expect myself to set up traps and ambushing them instead of them ambushing me all the time.

- Sure Vigors has the abilty for me to set up traps but I never used it at all. Even in a bad situation, I was never forced to change my weapon to an even strong one. I used the Pistol and Carbine all the way through and I've only used the RPG maybe 2 or 3 times when facing the Handyman.

- I thought I was able to buy weapons but I was forced to use 2 instead of keeping all of them in my inventory. Of course to counter my own argument was that it's easier to change my weapons on the fly and use the vigors but I don't use the Vigors as much as well. I kinda expect myself to use all the weapons throughout the entire game but I didn't even use the volleygun or the handcannon once.

- I've only used 2 Vigors and that was Devil's Kiss and the crows. I never bothered using other vigors, but it can also be based on your own liking as well.

- I feel that story-wise is a very Bioshock game. From a gameplay standpoint, I don't think it's a very bioshock-y game but just mindless shooting.

- Why I think it is mindless shooting was because I never bothered going into any tactical gameplay ideas like what I did with Bioshock 1, and I feel that it is just a distraction for me to go along with the story. All I did was burst my way through without thinking and just basically obliterated everyone. If it were to be somewhat an improvement gameplay from Bioshock 1, I could find myself saying Infinite to be a perfect game.

- Pacing of the story is probably the best one so far but the only unnecessary part for me was fighting Lady Comstock's ghost 3 times, I think fighting her once was good enough and move along with finding the other tears.

Other than that, the game is great but not perfect for me. I'm glad the story, characters and setting was awesome and that was what made me play all the way through.

If you guys don't mind me asking, why do you think Bioshock Infinite is a perfect game? I'm curious to know, and don't worry. I won't argue with you guys. I'm just curious and I wanna know your point of view of the game. =)

On the songbird which i admit is a mystery there is audio diary that mentions it

"These holes have shown me yet another wonder, though I’ve yet to see

the application for it. They illuminate a merger of machine and man that

is somehow the lesser, yet the greater, of both parties. The process

seems to be irreversible. Perhaps, though, Comstock will have some need of this kind of thing to keep watch in that tower he is building."

You assume he got his technology from Rapture.

I like that you see Songbird only couple time it makes each appearance special and makes it more of a threat. Where Big daddy's after you run into couple into no longer really treating enemy or has much of presence especially in Bioshock 2 where Big daddy no longer special.

Well i think it's 10 out of 10 game but no game is going to be perfect but Infinite flaws to me are minor and still seems like perfect game, I understand how to other people it's not.

I actually used more vigors and weapons than i did in previously Bioshock games, I think they give players more play-styles to choose from it's your choice not to use them. I felt that sky rail add alot to the fights were fun and felt like evolution from Bioshock 1. I think different gear setups and vigors that you can choose style that fits your need which is nice rpg element previous game didn't really have. And ghost thing somewhat annoying but i can see why they did it.

For me why Infinite is "perfect game" is that it shows what games can be, it tells story that only can be told in a video game. The more time you explore Columbia that more your rewarded seeing posters, characters interacting and just looking into shops and seeing things that most games never do as well clever Easter eggs. It tells a story that is easily best in a video game but it has depth. After you finish it your left thinking about the experience you have played and that's when you know you have amazing story where it's still on your mind after you after you finished it. There's alot of parts in game that your just walking and just seeing the world they've created. It's great era piece and character are top-notch as well. While gameplay is games weakest part, i still really enjoyed playing it trying new ideas and using skyrails it always keep me interested. When i play games, I'm more into story side than gameplay side but to me Infinite does both well. The way use music in game is impressive as well and adds alot to the experience of the game. I also like that while you have no real choice to make, Infinite is one of the best games at showing choices the characters make. It also deals with theme's most games won't while Bioshock 1 dealt with some of them i feel Infinite takes on more handles it all well. It doesn't hold your hand and you have to pay attention which you get rewarded for it. It's also one of few games that after i finished it i when started up second play-though.

It really does make sense since he can use tears to go to rapture. Never thought of that. =/

Maybe you're right about the songbird not appearing that much in the game, but it still feels very mysterious to me about it and not much backstory either. Maybe it's just me.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot about the skyrail gameplay. Oh I do love using the skyrails. It's fun.

You're the only one so far who has your own valid reason why you think it's a perfect game to you and I understand why it is now. Lotsa great points. Love it.

I'll have to play through the game the second time or just wait and see what Irrational has in store for their future DLC's. =/

Yeah it bothers me abit about songbird, i prefer the original where you know how they created a big daddy and that creator gets killed by one. Hopefully they address it more since it feels like cop out, I would have liked audio diaries addressing its backstory more in-depth.

I do hope the songbird will be explained more in the upcoming dlc and not in an entirely new game. I don't think infinite deserve to have a sequel. That's what i think at least. The ending was satisfying enough. =/

I agree with Infinite being standalone, if there was equal it would be made be 2k Marin like bioshock 2 and like bioshock 2 it wouln't be as special as first time you visited Columbia.

Bioshock Infinite is a game that is excellent on so many levels, that there is simply no denying it. Any complaint you have is a nitpick. Period.

If you like gameplay, this game provides a smorgasbord of gameplay mechanics for you to enjoy. If you like characters, everyone here is fleshed out. If you like story, then there is no way you will be disappointed in the way things unfold. If you like twists, then my God are you in for one.

Every element of this game is thought out, and executed well. Nothing is sloppy. If you have a question about a character, then it was probably answered in that Voxophone you missed. If you have a confusion for the story, then you just havn't thought about it enough.

It is amazing. And for that reason, I have decided... it is my favorite standalone game of all time. My favorite series is still Kingdom Hearts, with the Bioshock frachise running second, and with Infinite heading up the list as the best standalone title. It's that good.

And on that note...

What. The. Fuck just happened. I saw the end credits scene, so I know Booker DeWitt isn't dead... but, Comstock and him are the same person? Or is it a metaphorical thing, where they're not technically the same, but one can not exist without the other?

Elizabeth definitely got her powers somehow by either going through that first tear, or by having experiments tested on her by the Luteces. Either way, she got it from the machine. But here is another question... are Anna and Elizabeth the same person? I know that Booker claimed to have a wife, and that she died in childbirth, but when Elizabeth was being taken through the tear, he kept shouting "Anna!". So did he name the child Anna, or did his confused mind just merge the two people into one in his head?

I know there's an answer, and it will probably come to me once my mind clears a bit.

Just amazing. And here I thought "Would you kindly?" was one balls of a twist...

There the same person but took a different choice, after the battle of Wounded Knee Booker had the choice to be baptized when he picked that choice he became Comstock but when he didn't that's Booker your playing as. Anna and Elizabeth are same person, in world where Booker became Comstock he took Booker's baby and renamed her to Elizabeth.

Now the after credits ending can be seen multiple ways here's one of them

"One theory is that through Comstock's death at the baptism, the onlyuniverse which remained was that in which Booker declined the baptism, and never attempted to sell his daughter. In this final universe, Bookerand Anna are assumed to live happily ever after."

but due "constants and variables" idea any ending idea you have after post credits scene could be true.

Yeah, that post was right after I beat the game. I've had some time to think about it, and come to all of the same conclusions...

Except for one.

I think both universes were destroyed, the one where he accepted and the one where he rejected...

and the universe we see in stinger is one where Booker just doesn't even get presented with the choice.

  • Author

The timeline they went during the ending was the time when he was about to be baptised and killed that booker there, hence destroying what ever happened after that.

I think the world he rejected goes on as normal, but his debts doesn't show during the after credits, so you might be right on both worlds being destroyed. =/

There are a lot of constant and variables, so I guess the after credits was the rejected booker, but had a good life instead of having debts. Could be either way, but also in that constant will have a lighthouse, a crazy man, and a weird city.
