    I think it would be little better in Gen 3 due to the fact that you can control when the tiles change.  Therefore I can search for a while, but my game down and pick it up the next day without starting over.

    Also you can always roll back the date on DPPt so the tile spots don't change. With this, I enjoyed catching my shiny Feebas.
