Funny how actually only one 'instrument' is different from the others, because the rest are actually normal I believe so, as after you complete the big ordeal at Hollow Bastion, you are actually given the choice to start at either Agrabah or Beast's Castle/Land of Dragons, so you could go straight to Halloween Town if you wanted. Not sure, never actually done it.

Not sure, never actually done it. I remember being able to go to Land of Dragons or Beast's Castle or Port Royal, but not that far on Agrabah and Hallowen Town. Yeah i never do that too, don't like to alter the order of battle level.
