Hey guys I just wanted to know if anyone here is a serious body-builder or just works out? I recently just seriously started to work out. Started off weighing in at 65kgs and in a couple of weeks gone up to 70kgs, just putting on muscle mass. In a few weeks im going for a fitness test/ physique test over in Melbourne (a city in my country). Just wanted to know if yous have any tips on putting on muscle mass quick? Would LOVE to reach 80kgs quick.

Also feel free to discuss your work-out schedule and other factors like calorie/protein intake (that sort of stuff).

Thanks people :)

That sounds like work, which means sweating. Which is gross.

Melbourne represent! Sorry, I can't really help you out, I just felt like commenting. I do basic bicep curls, tricep dips and crunches when I feel like it (a couple times a week on rotation usually) so I don't exactly have a routine going. I'm too lazy.

A 5kg gain in a couple of weeks sounds very impressive. At that rate, it shouldn't take you very long to reach 80kg. How tall are you?

Do you take protein supplements? My friend has been going to the gym 3 times a week for the last few months and takes protein shakes, and he's been showing pretty decent results. He was really skinny before hand, and has gained 5-10kg.

I started working out and gained 20 pounds in a year which for me is impressive since I'm only like 135 pounds and 5'8 and 16 years old so yeah

I'm not really pro or active on body building things, but I can say few things:

Train your abs, that will help you a lot.

Try to try out different things and don't just train one body part like biceps or something.

Don't only push your maximum limit, do series with smaller weights to gain more durability and putting variety on your training makes it more useful

Don't start using any protein/energy stuff right away

Do something else as well, like go jogging, biking or something like that.

You don't always need to go to gym if you want to train, just do push ups, pulls ups, sit-ups and stuff like that in home everyday

If you need tips on doing some move or using some device in gym, just go and ask someone else. It is so much better to use all devices properly than potentially hurting yourself.

Get yourself good diet

Drink a lot of water (not too much during the performance though)

Remember to stretch your muscles well before and after training

Good luck with training! Hope you can get some good results! Don't be discouraged if you don't get to your goals right away!

Representing!Im like 6foot something so yeah pretty tall xD I take a protein shake about 20mins after each sesh, and I only work-out 4 days a week and rest the other 3. I read its the best way to go seeing as you need those rest days for the muscle to repair and improve those results. And yeah 5kgs in 2 weeks so thanks :)

Thanks man, and thanks for the tips, muchly appreciated :)

I work out, but not with weights. Mostly martial arts and core workouts. But I wouldn't actually call it "working out" so much as just "getting fit". Now you on the other hand...DAYUM. Nice work bro.

And I'd like to help you out with the muscle mass thing but alas, I am a dork, and cannot offer any help. Best of luck though!

I don't need to work out when I have magic and am princess of my own kingdom.

I don't know much about the protein shakes, since I don't drink them, but DAYUM DUDE

Oh wait actually, I've heard that Nutrishake stuff works pretty well. Just do some proper research, of course. And stay away from Ensures. Those things are for people who really don't eat much (like my mother); they're packed with preservatives and other...things.
