Weiss 8,279 Posted May 10, 2013 Here we can discuss the topic about Nuzlockes in general. Like 'em? Hate them? Best results you've had? Ever completed one? Discuss! Introduction to Nuzlockes I was originally heard about Nuzlockes a few years back but never payed much attention to them. Then, when Shana on Kh13 brought them up in a status some time back I decided to do my reasearch. At first it sounded like a terrible thing to me but I eventually watched videos of it. It actually led me to find a big Nuzlocke runner named HardyT3kyoyo (who doesn't do them much anymore). After seeing several videos of nuzlockes I decided to give them a try for myself. My Nuzlockes: I've done a few nuzlockes. Only of gen 3 games though. My first one was Ruby which I failed terribly at. I picked Treecko as a starter so I was able to beat Roxanne pretty easily. Brawly literally owned all four of my pokemon team with his makuhita though. My second one was of Fire Red. I started with a Bulbasaur. I actually have a screenshot still of this one Also, my Dugtrio got Ariel ace (i don't even know how a dugtrio can learn that but okay) which made it great. My main three pokemon throughout the ending of the game were a Dugtrio, a Venonat which became a venomoth and Dumbfish the Gyrados. Dugtrio died to Koga, Venomoth died to Sabrina. Dumbfish was able to own both Blaine and Giovanni. Then Blue beat Dumbfish. With his Charizard of all things. And it was his last Pokemon versus my only Pokemon (1v6). This was a pretty amazing success compared to all of my other nuzlockes. My third one was of Emerald, where I once again chose Treecko but lost to the third gym this time round. I had nothing that could get a good hit on Wattson's Magneton. Finally, my last nuzlocke was of Platinum. I never actually finished this one. I've beaten Roark and picked Turtwig (if you can't tell by now I like grass starters). I had a Turtwig and a Machop and a very weak starly. Need to finish this one sometime My opinion on Nuzlockes: I quite enjoy playing nuzlockes. They make the game very interesting an a death of a Pokemon mean a lot more. It also gets you to use pokemon you would normally never use (like dugtrio and venomoth in my case) and find out how great they actually are. For things that I've played a lot of times, like the third gen games, it takes the game and makes it have more variety. I doubt I'll ever go all the way and complete one pass the champion though. LordOfTheCastle 92 Posted May 10, 2013 Y'know, the idea around nuzlockes is cool and it sounds like it adds a lot of depth to the game, but...I've had way too many pokemon randomly killed by an insanely high critical hit that I don't think I could manage it.I've actually never beaten a Pokemon game, I always give up. Oops, did I just admit that?
Dio Brando 5,810 Posted May 10, 2013 It's fun to watch people doing the nuzlocke like Marriland But I just can't ever do a nuzlocke run.....EVER I don't like losing my Pokemon forever once it faints and I didn't like the limitations on the Pokemon you can catch in the NuzlockeWedlocke run.
