Girls’ Generation sub-unit Taetiseo releases debut album jacket cover for ‘Twinkle’

 

 

Girls’ Generation‘s sub-unit, ‘Taetiseo‘, is gearing up for the release of their debut mini-album, ‘Twinkle‘, on April 29th!

 

The girls will be releasing their title track through iTunes for the global market with a special photo booklet that will be different from its offline release.

 

The title track, “Twinkle”, is the production of Jam Factory‘s Brandon Fraley, Jamelle Fraley, and Javier Solis, and is described to be a modern rearrangement of ’70s and ’80s style music like Stevie Wonder. As it is a medium tempo dance track of the funky soul genre, fans can definitely expect to see a new side to the girls.

 

Following the title track release on Itunes and online portals on April 29th, the full album will be released the next day on the 30th.

 

Taetiseo’s debut is already rocking the search portal charts, sweeping every entertainment board imaginable as they slowly release teasers one by one.

 

Fans can expect the album’s offline release on May 2nd.

Hyoyeon Joins Cast of 'Dancing With The Stars Season 2'

 

 

Hyoyeon will be joining MBC’s “Dancing With the Stars Season 2″, which will begin airing on April 27th. An MBC staff member stated, “After confirming her participation, Hyoyeon has been busy practicing. You will get to see a new side of Hyoyeon.”

Hyoyeon is one of the dancers in Girls’ Generation. Because of this, the producers have high expectations for her. A source stated, “As expectations are high, Hyoyeon has also been practicing a lot. It will be a chance for Hyoyeon to show off free dances unlike Girls’ Generation’s choreography.”

Other stars such as Tony An and actress Choi Yeo Jin will be joining Hyoyeon on the show. Recording for the first episode was finished on April 15th. The first episode of “Dancing With the Stars Season 2″ will air on April 27th at 9:55pm KST, and live broadcasts of the show will begin May 4th.

'Twinkle' Achieves All-Kill on Korean Charts, Places Highly on iTunes Charts Worldwide

 

 

Shortly after being released, Girls’ Generation – TTS’s “Twinkle” gained an all-kill on Korean music charts, while the mini-album ranked in various positions on iTunes charts across the globe.

 

The song shot to #1 on MelOn, Bugs, Olleh, Soribada, Mnet, Daum and Naver mere hours after the release, but perhaps even more exciting is the reaction to the worldwide album release. “Twinkle” not only charted highly in South Korea, but in various countries around the world on the iTunes store. The mini-album rose to #2 on the iTunes Pop album chart in the US store, and peaked at #4 in the overall album chart, just behind world-renowned and 6-time Grammy award winning artist Adele and her album “21″, which won Album of the Year in early 2012. Girls’ Generation set yet another record as the highest ranking Korean artist on the iTunes album charts.

 

 

Alongside their success in the US Chart, Girls’ Generation – TTS charted highly in many more countries. “Twinkle” rose to #10 on iTunes Mexico’s pop album chart, #18 in Spain, #32 in Ireland, #26 in the Netherlands, #22 in the UK, and charted at various positions on the Top Albums chart, including #11 in Sweden, #2 in Japan, #6 in Brazil, #60 in the UK, #15 in Finland, #36 in France, #56 in Italy, #5 in Canada, #4 in Australia, #8 in New Zealand, and even #1 in Bulgaria, showing just how just how global the appeal of Girls’ Generation has become.
