Has anyone here ever had a ...

I was just curious if anyone here has ever had a kidney stone before. I have one right now, and it is causing a tremendous amount of pain. :(  I will have surgery in a couple of days to take care of it. I am a bit scared though because I have never had a surgery before. I am currently praying ,and thinking that when it is all over I will feel better. Anyways, has anyone else had an experience like this?

I've had a gallstone but it was too small to warrant surgery since the pain I got only flared up when I got viral infections.  You shouldn't worry it's a routine procedure and will be over in no time, you'll feel a lot better once it's gone.

And you'll be drugged up. Woo.

Yes. Just last year....nnngh, it was horrible, but I still have that darned kidney stone in my bathroom cabinet. No one goes in there. Anyway, it was extremely horrible as it passed through the kidney, but it all ends. I had to pee the thing out though, so having it surgically removed is different. I wish you the best of luck! Nothing can really go wrong, though. Just the pain, the removal, and BAM! its gone. My orchestra conductor had a kidney stone earlier this year, so we had a conversation about it too :P

Thanks for relating your experience with me. It must have been very painful for you to pass your kidney stone. I thought that was what I was going to have to do, but the doctors said that my kidney stone is about three times the average size. Maybe I will ask if they can show me my stone after they remove it. :P

You are welcome. How old are you, by the way? I think I had just turned thirteen when I got mine. Three times as large as average sounds excruciating, I don't know how big mine was, but I think it was around average. I kept my kidney stone, obviously, it came right out as I passed it. Very weird.

No, but I will have to have arm surgery soon.

Hey, best of luck, really. A few members in my family have had them in the past but I can't really remember all the details. People have them done all the time though so even though surgery seems like a big thing, I'm sure you're in good hands, and your kidneys will be good as new afterwards :]

I've never had one surprisingly, I end up with tons of illnesses and not this yet. Maybe soon. But I hope you feel better! I really do & good luck with the surgery. <3

I just turned 20 a month ago. I had been experiencing slight pain in my lower right part of my back on and off for about 6 months, but I didn't really think anything of it at first. Until ironically I started to feel really sick on my 20th birthday. After that I went to the doctor who sent me to several other offices to have tests performed so they could figure out what was wrong with me.

Kramer is the only person that I know that has gotten a kidney stone.
