if any of you know me you'd know i have ocd. (signature. duh.) but does it mean i have magical thinking if i dont do something then i stop liking something? example:

if i dont open a drawer then i will stop liking one piece.

if i dont touch my dog then i will start thinking like a womanizer and wont like TRUE love.

1. is it possible for these effects to happen if i dont to these?

2. is this considered magical thinking?

I think those are a little out there, but it does sound normal for someone with OCD.  I've been suffering a huge relapse ever since the fall so I know how you feel.

I also have OCD. There are many different types of it, I think. People obsess over different things. I go to a physiologist to get help because it also ruins huge parts of my life. I want things to look perfect, I obsess over thoughts and constantly thinks about things I don't want to think about, things which frightens me and I end up doing nothing but being scared of doing anything sometimes. That's sort of how my OCD works.

To me, it sounds kind of weird that by opening a drawer, you'll stop liking One Piece. That's new to me. But again, people have different problems with it. Perhaps, if you think that if you don't touch it, and you've already linked it with the idea of stop liking One Piece, then if you don't touch then your brain will obsess over the fact that you didn't touch. And since you've linked it with One Piece, you'll start obsessing over that too and you'll end up tricking your brain into think that you no longer like One Piece because you didn't open the drawer.

I see it highly unlikely that you'll truly stop liking One Piece or that you'll become a womanizer, but since you're obsessing over the idea that you will if you don't do a certain thing, then when you don't do this certain thing, then you'll fool your brain into believing it. Now I'm just repeating myself but I'm trying to get across what I think.

I'm not quite sure what you mean with this "magical thinking" of yours. By the way, have you been properly diagnosed with OCD, and are you also seeing a psychologist?

I'd have to dig through my psychology book again to answer these questions. Too bad I'm brain dead at the moment.

Magical thinking oftentimes comes from association. Your examples don't make much sense unless you have a reason for associating one piece with a drawer.
