So i just beat white today (I'm not slow i just really took my time) and i thought to myself, after figuring out that the amount of boxes in the game are enough to catch all 649 Pokemon, so I've been thinking about. Should i try getting all 649? have any of you caught every Pokemon? and if so what game?

You can try but only a select few have caught all 649 without cheating.

If you do catch them all Gen 7 should be out by then.

well i mean for the "unattainable pokemon" like event pokemon whose events are over (celebi,Jirachi,etc) i have a special method of obtain them, which i consider borderline cheating but i wouldn't count the next gen pokemon because . y'know they aren't on the white national dex, and catching the 649 is already an achievement in it's own correct?

The best I could do was something about 250 - 300 in Diamond... I never tried it again because it really isn't fun at all imo ... (there are also Pokemon Hack Versions which contain every Pokemon and that's way cooler) ... Maybe I'll try it again in X/Y if I have the time for it

I'd never catch 649 Pokemon. Maybe 251. But that's it.

It's impossible to get all the Pokemon unless you have Gen 3 games,FireRed and LeafGreen,Gen 4 games,HeartGold and SoulSilver and Gen 5 games and transfer all your pokemon from previous gens to Gen 5.

 

I never attempted a Pokedex completion since it doesn't matter if you complete it,and what you get from completing it doesn't worth the effort

well i mean for johto i was planning on trading but other than that i have a emerald and a firered, and i could just obtain the pokemon that aren't in those games by y'know trading also

I could if I tried to, but I find it pointless. Yes, I have all the events from gen 4 onward, so event Pokemon aren't a problem. 

Go for it, if you want to have the personal accomplishment of doing it, then more power to ya.

I'm currently 5 Pokemon away from completing the Diamond Dex. And one of them is Shaymin.

I almost have my National Dex completed on Black 2 but I have all the main series, and yeah it takes alot of work rounding up all the Pokemon but there's a real fealing of pride filing up all thse empty spots in the dex. You should totally try it!
