Okay, I don't know that much about video game consoles, but I do know quite a bit about games.  Weird, right?  Anyway, huge KH and FF fan here!!  I know that FFX, all of the games involved with FFXIII, and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix are coming out on the PS3.  Good enough reason to buy a PS3, right?  Well, then E3 stuff happens and KHIII and FFXV are announced for the PS4!!!

 

So, I guess some of my questions are as follows:

 

1. Is there going to be a Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix?  From what I've read online, there's going to be.  But is it going to be for the PS3?

 

2. If I bought a PS4, would I be able to play PS3 games on the console?

 

And 3.  Who else is glad to see KHIII finally in development?

 

So what do you think:  PS3...or PS4?

Both.  KH3 won't be released for a few years.  Get it later when it's down in price, get a PS3 first since it's already down in price.

Get a PS3 first. Its cheaper, and KH3 wont be out until probably 2015, so the PS4 can go down in price first. Besides, the HD ReMIXs for KH are gonna be on there, with the Final Mix's. Besides, theres also the X games and the XIII games, not to mention other good games like Ni No Kuni and Tales of Xillia. And Infamous and Uncharted

1. Not much has been said about 2.5, so I don't really know.

 

2. I believe Sony is working on a sort of Cloud feature that allows you to play past games.

Gaikai will let you play PS3 games on your PS4, so I would go with PS4. Don't shell out extra money for solely a few games

ps3 2 and 1 games will be available on ps4 but only as downloads off of psn, so kind of like ps3.

 

ps3 has many great rpgs and it is released right now while ps4 only has a confirmed roster and no released games,

so my advice is get a ps3 and work on saving up for a ps4 while kh3 and 15 are under production

 

if youve ever heard of the disgaea series there are 3 of them on ps3, they should keep you busy while you are saving once you have a ps3.

PS4. You will be able play PS3 games using Gaikai which comes to the PS4 shortly after launch. The PS4 will be a much better long-term investment and surely you will get much more joy out of it.

If PS4 was backwards compatible I'd say get it and I'm not sure if it is or not but if it isn't get a PS3 for the time being and wait a while then get a PS4 to get the next KH games. It makes sense I guess.  Also since Sony plans to keep PS3 alive till like 2016 they may release the 2.5 or any other KH game on there (maybe) so that's also something to consider.

1. It hasn't officially been announced yet, but the credits of HD 1.5 ReMIX strongly hint to it. It is very likely that it'll be on PS3.

2. No, it doesn't have backwards compatibility.

You should get PS3 and try some other games. You say that you are FF fan? There will be in 27 August Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn, it's a MMORPG. It might interests you

Gotta pay to keep playing it though.

 

Get a PS3 so you can play HD 1.5 ReMIX, Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2 & Lightning Returns along with X/X-2 HD Remaster and HD 2.5 ReMIX along with a lot of other great games. Wait till 2016 to get a PS4, the likely slim will be available and it'll have gone down in price, XV will be available and KH3 will probably come out that year.

Should probably wait until all info on Gaikai is released since its only been said older games like PS1 games will be playable and PS3 will be later(when is later? and will KH 1.5 and 2.5 be on it?).
