May approached the DWMA. "Wow... It's a lot bigger than I imagined it would be..." She muttered as she stepped up the stairs to the entrance. Class was starting in half an hour. May had made sure to get there extra early so she wouldn't miss her first day. She walked through the door and nervously walked to her classroom. She sat towards the back and pulled out her textbook to get a head start on the day.

Hoshi ran through the hallway, spotting a figure entering a door.  She had no idea who it was, but regardless, she chased after the person and barged into the classroom, very clumsily.  She looked at the whole class as she rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment.

 

"Uh, hi everybody.  I-I'm Hoshi..." she said hesitantly.  She looked around and saw that mostly everyone, if not all were there.  She stared at Professor Igor.  "Am I late?"

(Aire actually hasn't learned who her partner is yet... Everyone was going to learn during the first assignment, sorry. ._.)

 

Professor Igor looked at Hoshi, who had just entered. "Ah, Hoshi, there you are!" He exclaimed. "You're late, but I'll let it slide since it's day one... Anyway, it's time for assignments, everyone! I'll send you off in groups of six. There, you'll probably learn who your Meister or Weapon is. I mean, what better way to learn than through experience, eh?" He said, laughing. "Now then... May, Mizuri, Aire, Hoshi, Joshua, and Kenji... You six will be Group A. I'm sending you all to New York City, as there have been sightings of a Kishin Egg Soul there. Now then, for the rest of you... ShiftStar, Akane, Sairi, Alexander, Arch, and Paloma... You are Group B. You will be going to Paris to track down another Kishin  Egg Soul. Now then, good luck to all of you!" The professor shouted, then left the room, leaving the students alone.

 

May looked at the others who were supposed to be going with her.. They seemed strong enough... She wondered who would be her Meister.

 

(Alright, I guess that when everyone's ready, the groups can be taken to their locations. Just say that you're ready to move on at the end of your next post, if you are!

"Awwww yeaaaah, the country of love, man! I've always wanted to go to Paris...and now, I finally can! I'm gonna LOVE this academy! Oh yes, and Aire, I apologize for what happened...even though now we can spend the rest of our academy days together! There's a plus!  :D"

 

Aire was not so excited about going to New York, especially after what just happened. "Mmmmph...no, I'll be a good student, and show mom and dad up!" Sudden mood change aside, she was much eager now.

 

(Yeah, I'm ready Though, I might not be able to post the rest of today. I'm kicked off the computer until tomorrow.  <_<)

Joshua raised his hand rather politely, still with a nervous expression looking towards their teacher. "Uh...um...Professor Igor...." He said, again, barely loud enough for their professor to hear. "Um...we're being sent off on our first day...? I mean...none of us have a partner and I've never really fought anyone...." Joshua gulped. He could fight from a distance, so he was relatively safer than some of the others...but he was also one of the youngest-- the smallest, and the most fragile one there. One hit to him, and it may be enough to end everything. A Kishin would be literally impossible to defeat. They're trouble even for Shinigami-- or, Lord Death. No one would probably ever fight a Kishin here...just an evil human who's soul became a Kishin egg. But, still, what if the egg ended up completing and becoming a Kishin!? Then we'd be done for. "I just...don't know if it's a good idea for us...."

She heard one of her classmates asking about such a sudden mission and she had to concur.  It was too early for such a thing.  She had yet to be acquainted with everyone properly, but instead of voicing her opinion, she silently nodded her hair in agreement.  "Would we be able to survive such a thing?" she wondered.

"Paris... I just got back to my home, now I'm going back to Paris... Well, at least my French won't get rusty..." Shift thought, looking over to Akane. "Hey. I suppose since were on the same team, wh-why not team up?" He asked, now stuttering much less.

"Yes!" Mizuri exclaimed with excitement "I love New York I've been there several times and no it like the back of my hand! Let's get started." Mizuri was happy and knew it was a piece of cake. He cracked his knuckles and stood up ready for the trip. As nervous as he was he knew that he was skilled at fighting and was in a group of people.

Paloma jumped out of her seat.

"Alright, Paris! I can try out authentic french fries now!" She sat back down. "Let's just hope that Akane chick doesn't ruin it for me..." She muttered. (I know I shouldn't be making enemies but...)

She looked to everyone else. "Well, ready when you all are."

 

(Kenji)

 

Kenji pat Joshua's back. "It shouldn't be too bad, it's only an egg right?" He looked at his group. "I'm sure we can hold our own pretty well."

(I wonder if I should tell Lord Death) He thought to himself. (A first mission, the first time he has been able to go more than ten miles away from DWMA)

Sairi stared blankly at the Professor. Paris? She hadn't been a lot of places before and barely knew these people. Was this going to be a good or bad thing? Sairi looked at Alexander for a second. He was a Meister. She'd have to ask him something later.

May decided she couldn't always stay quiet and nervous like this. She'd need to talk to people at some point, especially since she needed a Meister. She decided to try to talk to one of the people in her group... She noticed that the Meister who introduced himself to her earlier, Mizuri, seemed excited to go. She decided to try to talk with him. "So, you know what it's like there, then? That's good... I hear it's a big city, having someone that knows their way around would be really helpful." May smiled, glad that she'd finally managed to talk to someone, and that they had a guide.

Joshua sighed again, looking a bit up to Kenji for a few moments. "Yeah...I guess so. I mean...with six of us...I'm sure the evil human won't win...but what if they can get at least one of us? It'd probably be me...." He looked down a bit, and then rested his head and arms on the desk in front of him, just kicking his legs in the air boringly. "Not to mention, three of us going on this mission will be weapons, right...? We can't just split someone's soul...one's going to have to eat it. I've never eaten the soul of an evil human, though...a uh...Kishin egg, it's called. Well...I've never eaten any soul...."Alexander stared off at no one, just in the distance, as if in a trance. (Paris? Why's everyone so excited about this? All it'll be is a stuck-up fancy big city. Haven't they ever been to a big city? I remember living in New York. It was smelly, the people were impeccably rude...I don't see how anyone could like these kinds of places.) Alexander thought, and sighed. He then slightly turned to his right, (And then there's this girl...Sairi, I think. She keeps glancing over at me...it's a bit creepy and unnerving. She'll just mess me up-- make me nervous again.) Alexander turned away, facing the front again. With Sairi on the right, Alexander let his hair stay over his eye, so as not to see if or if not Sairi ends up looking his way again. (I don't need a partner anyways. I'm able enough to fight with my soul wavelength....)

"Oh...yeah." He said with a shy smile he needed a weapon and friends too so he decided to be as nice as he could be. "I hope I can be of help I know the way around I just hope people will take the time to listen." He hoped that his past experiences wouldn't get in the way after all New York City is where he lost his little sister, Alice. The only thing he had left of her was her lock and key necklace and her heart headphones the rest that was left his family kept. Mizuri put this to the back of his head and continued talking with May as their friendship grew and him and the other students got ready for New York.

"Looks like everyone's partnering up..." Hoshi thought to herself.  "Who was in my group again?" she wondered.

 

She began to panic as she looked around looking for some sort of way to assimilate into the small conversations.  She needed a partner for the trip to New York and it was starting to become hopeless.  She propped herself up, trying to get enough momentum to talk to some of her New York buddies, but to no avail.  She sat back down, losing her momentary confidence. 

 

"I hope the professor just assigns us our partners..."

Akane watched as professor Igor left the room and she frowned. He's not going to at least accompany us, she thought, that's stupid. "But heading to Paris, I like the sound of that!" She looked around to see her other group mates, a bit happy that Paloma was coming along with her. She turned around to grin at her then looked over at ShiftStar. "Well the professor said we had to find our partners on our own, sure why not." she said and stood up. "But if we can't match soul frequencies, we are screwed." she said sounding dead serious. "Ready to leave when you guys are!" Akane said sounding a bit excited.

May nodded. "I'll listen! I've never been there before, so I'd be lost if I didn't know someone else who knew how to get around..." She said, then had an idea. "Hey, you're a Meister, right? I wonder if we'd be able to partner up..." She said hopefully. She wanted a partner soon. She looked around at the others in their group. She was hoping she'd be able to make more friends on this trip...

Hoshi looked around once again, still not making any progress.  She looked at a girl a little ways near her, May.  She was being asked a question that Hoshi couldn't hear, but she did hear her asking about a Meister.  Hoshi's face saddened as she could see more and more pairing up.

 

"Maybe I can make some friends."  

 

Hoshi approached the girl slowly and shyly.  She stuck out her hand and poked May's shoulder.  "Uh...a-are you guys part of the New York group too?  I'm not r-really acquainted with anyone here..." she asked, closing her eyes and backing away in embarrassment.

May smiled, noticing that this girl seemed more nervous than she did. She tried to calm her down a bit by putting on a friendly expression.

Kenji looked at Joshua.

"Hey, I'm not going to let anything happen to you Joshua, ok?" He said, smiling. "I won't let my friends get hurt."

He looked out a nearby window. "I've never eaten one myself, but I've heard from other weapons that they taste pretty good. Who knows, maybe you'll like the taste a lot yourself."

"Oh, May..." she opened her eyes and saw a warm embrace in the form of a very friendly expression. "Yes!" she said in a high pitched tone. "I-I'm Hoshi Midori-ao." She tried to calm down, knowing she was in a safe place.

 

She looked at the girl who maintained her friendliness. "Was everyone here as nice as her?"

 

After regaining some composure, Hoshi began to wonder who the other people in the group were. "Um, sorry to bother you, but do you happen to remember who Professor Igor assigned in the New York group, May?"

May thought back to what the professor had said. "Uh... Myself, you, Mizuri, Aire, Joshua, and Kenji are going to New York City, I think..." She told Hoshi. "It seems like a good group to me... Mizuri says that he knows his way around the city, too." She informed her new friend. "So... do you think you're ready for the assignment?" She asked Hoshi. "I've never really transformed before... I'm hoping I'll do well..."

"I don't think I'll ever be ready.." Hoshi muttered, almost out of earshot.  "But, I'll try my best!" she exclaimed, determined as ever.  "I'm sure you'll do very well with transforming..."  To her surprise, she had stopped stuttering and found a sense of place with the girl.  "It isn't that hard... more as hoping you don't let your partner down is what I fear."She looked at the girl, who started to doubt herself, intently.  "Guess even if you're surrounded by kind people, you still can doubt yourself.  I have to put on a brave face also!  Friendship is a two way street."

 

Hoshi clasped May's hand as she tried to cheer her up just as she did her.  "Let's do our best out there!"
