Ryan Reynolds talks Deadpool movie

Posted

After X men Origins: Wolverine hit theaters in 2009, Ryan Reynolds has been asked for years about the possible Deadpool spin-off at 20th Century Fox had Tim Miller attached to direct and Zombieland writers Rhett Reese  and Paul Wernick.

He last talked about the movie in March and now was asked again about the potential project in an interview with Total Film

He said:"That movie is alive and kicking, and then it's dead as a doornail. Then it's alive and kicking and then it's dead… it's like the worst relationship I've ever had! The character knows he's a comic-book character, he knows he's in a film, he knows who the executives are at the studio making the movie. In the current iteration of the script, Deadpool is aware of the Wolverine movie. He doesn't say anything disparaging about it but he does at one point play with the Deadpool action figure with some curiosity."

sounds neat, looks like they're aiming for a Deadpool that also breaks the 4th wall in the movie.

I am huge fan of Deadpool and I do think that Deadpool movie in the right hands would be success

I gotta agree with Reynolds. The way this movie gets my hopes up, then nothing happens for years is, indeed, the worst relationship I have ever had.

I would love for this movie to come out, but I am trying to remain in control of my hopes lest they be crushed again. At least till there is some concrete news, preferably a trailer.
