A few tidbits about Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII came from Japanese magazines this week. One important detail is time does stop in the game. Like The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s MaskLightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII has an in-game clock and events change depending on the time of day.

The clock stops at certain points in the game. Time also stops when you’re in battle so you can take your time while selecting attacks.

Money will be easier to obtain in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII since enemies drop cash after you defeat them. Another tweak is Lightning recovers HP if she’s standing on the field and not doing anything. Sure, that consumes time, but the other options are potions that cost money, eating at restaurants or consuming precious EP which is probably better used to freeze time during a fight.

Its nice to know that time at least stops during battle

One thing that bugs me about this time gimmick is the game's length,If the game end after the 13 days I wonder if its gonna take that long to beat it.

Gil* But anyway great to hear! :)

COOL! The clock stops at certain points. I already knew it stops in battle from the gameplay demos at E3 and Japan Expo.

I love how if you stay idle you recover HP. Thats nice.

Well, you can extend the time that the world has left BY DOING SIDE QUESTS, which also level you up.

And its not gonna be actual 13 days, maybe an hour or 2 will pass for you in the real world, when a day passes in the game, it wont be 24 hours for each day, that would take forever, especially at 13 days.

STOPZA!

I'm scared of the clock...It stresses me out, and the game is not out yet.
