I realized something about the ending of XIII-2....

Notice how when,

Caius dies, Chaos doesn't immediately infect the timeline even though Etro probably died at the exact same moment, or moments after. It waits until AFTER Serah dies to spread out into Gran Pulse. Now why could that be?

Short answer. Etro probably reinforced the gate to keep it firm and keep chaos at bay in case something should happen to her. But when Serah died, the gate had to open a little bit for her SOUL to enter into Valhalla. When the gate opened a small crack to allow that, the Chaos burst through.

It still would've happened eventually when someone else died, but she was the first to die after Caius, and thus, the chaos was released.

if etro was killed, it would have to be when caius died. We cant asssume it was an immediate death because we dont know but the crap that happened i assume would happen immediately after her death. The fact that chaos ingullfed the world after serah's death was probably a coincidence, mainly because they wanted to add emphasis to serah's death and needed the time to do it.

I'm still very confused about that ending. Is Caius still alive? What happened to him?

Caius is still alive

If you collect all 150 fragments and then beat Jet Bahamut again, you unlock the Secret Ending in which Caius talks to Yeul and engulfs the entire planet of Gran Pulse in Chaos...creating Nova Chrysallia in the process

Well, yes and no. The caius we see in the paradox ending is probably a Caius from the past, even though the present Caius is really dead. But i guess he could be kinda alive now, since Valhalla was pretty much the afterlife, and since it merged with Gran Pulse thanks to the chaos released, the afterlife and mortal world are one and the same now, so Caius will probably be in Lightning Returns.

The secret ending is not a paradox ending...it's a canon.

Caius is alive, but is no longer immortal due to the destruction of Etro's Heart

However...Caius SHOULD BE THE MAIL ANTAGONIST OF LRFFXIII....It will never made sense if Caius wasn't in the game

Right sorry, my bad. I said Paradox instead of secret by accident. xD

He should be the main protagonist, but it all depends on Toriyama's writing. Either he's the main antagonist and final boss, or its someone completely different.

That's probably what happened.
