Just a warning, I don't find this scary but some people might. I don't know, just don't wanna get yelled at by those people haha.

Ok if you don't know what it is, sleep paralysis is basically when you lose the ability to move (paralysis) while you are waking up or about to fall asleep. When I was 9 or 10, I experienced this. I was lying on my back and I woke up, but I hadn't noticed I was unable to move. And at the foot of my bed was something that looked like a man in a hat and a coat, pulling on my fan string over and over and over again. I was beyond scared, but all I could do was look at it! I was talking to my friend about this and he said he had a similar experience. Well experiences. Basically all of his younger life consisted of him dealing with sleep paralysis. He said he could see the outline of a man (he calls it shadow person, I looked it up and I guess that's a common phrase for it) and it just stood there. Now I'm really interested in this whole subject. But I'm just wondering, has this ever happened to anyone else?

Idk if I had this before. But I would like to ask something.Sometimes when I'm about to sleep I feel like I'm falling so I pretty much jump. Anyone know the cause and how it works? Or atleast what Its called. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about.

Oh I love that feeling of falling. I looked it up and it's called "Hypnic jerk". Apparently it's just a misinterpretation of signals from the muscles to the brain. And the dreams associated with it are like daydreams or hallucinations, not REM sleep. Regardless I find it fascinating non the less

My best guess would be your mind started to ignore stimuli from your body and then because you felt no pressure anywhere on your body. Since the only other time your body would feel like that is when falling, all of a sudden your defense mechanisms to protect against falling kicked in and... Though I could be wrong.

Thanks.

I warned ya! ;D

haha sorry :(

I just had sleeping paralysis last night... THAT SUCKED. I swore I could've heard some one talking to me, but I think it was all in my mind. I was just laying on my bed beginning to drift off when all of the sudden I felt getting tighter my breathing started to slow down, the only movement I can manage was my hand I could barely move my fingers. I swear it was like fighting a inner demon or something trying to gain control of my body again. Also oddly enough I didn't feel a shadow or a thing around me, I felt a woman near me *shudders*.

You heard someone talking? :0 I've been really exhausted before just lying in bed and I heard music at first and I was like "Hah ok it's good music" but then I realized it was like in my head (Can't even describe it). Then I heard a deep male voice that sounded like it was on the other end of a phone sort of mumbling and laughing. Freakiest thing ever, and if I let myself drift off I could hear the voice even clearer. So I stayed up all night lol
