Decided to start writing this since I had to take down ‘Tale of Jack’ chapters due to personal reasons.

 

This is a crossover between RWBY and Kingdom Hearts casts. The story revolves around the idea of a book being a gateway to each other's dimensions. There are more than one book to each dimension that could bring one to a different time and/or place.

 

Okay, I’ve been contemplating this crossover quite a while now, but I just didn’t know how I would do it.  But I eventually came up with a way to do it.  Anyways, I’ll try my very best to stay true to both stories in both feel and all that jazz.

 

So I decided to write in script format for this fanfiction just to mix it up a little, enjoy!

Act 1: Black and White

Scene 1: The RWBY Book

 

LAND OF DEPARTURE.  BEFORE MARK OF MASTERY IN BIRTH BY SLEEP.

 

Aqua and Master Eraqus are in a special room in the Land of Departure, filled with many scripts and books.

 

AQUA

Master Eraqus, where do you want me to put these books?

 

ERAQUS

Just right there, Aqua.

Aqua puts the books on top of a desk, but accidentally drops another book placed on it.  She picks it up and looks at it.

 

AQUA

R. W. B. Y.  Master, what is this book?

 

Aqua looks up, but Master Eraqus has left the room.  She starts to flip through the book.  A bright light envelops her face, then the room.  She disappears.  Ven enters the room.

 

VEN

Aqua, come on!  I’m gonna have a rematch against Terra and we need you to judge!  

 

Ven looks around and sees the book on the ground.  He picks it up and puts it on top of the desk.  He runs outside.

 

VEN

Where’s Aqua?

 

Meanwhile...

 

OUTSIDE A CLUB.  DURING “YELLOW” TRAILER

 

Loud music is heard throughout and outside the building.  There is a silhouette approaching two slide doors.  Before the silhouette can enter the door, something falls on it, leaving the image of a clump on the floor.

 

YANG

Ah!  Hey hey hey, what are you doing?  Get off me!

 

Aqua gets off of Yang, pats herself off and gets up.

 

AQUA

Sorry!

 

Aqua tries to help Yang up, but instead summons her Keyblade.  The Keyblade hits Yang’s jaws, sending her flying a couple of feet.  Yang does a somersault in mid-air to regain composure and footing.

 

YANG

That’s it!

 

Yang begins to burn gold.  (Hehe, pun)  She runs up to Aqua and sends a clean right jab.  Aqua tries to block with her Keyblade, but the blow is too strong.  Aqua flies through the air and disappears mid trajectory.  Yang pats her hands and her bottom.  She fixes her hair.

 

YANG

Well that’s that!

 

Yang approaches the club again as the doors open.  The music gets louder as she walks up to the bar, looking around the joint.

 

YANG

Strawberry sunrise, no ice.  Oh!  And one of those little umbrellas.

After some research, I’ve concluded that all RWBY trailers happen before the episodes.  So that’s the timeline I’ll be going by.  For Kingdom Hearts, I’ll be using the regular timeline.  Updates will be at least twice a week.

Oh my god! Weiss could use a sword and a keyblade! She could whoop some ass!

Decided to post it up a little before an hour.  Here’s Scene 2.  Enjoy!

Act 1 Scene 2: Another Book

 

TRAIN.  DURING “BLACK” TRAILER.

 

Adam and Blake make their way to the next cart, when Blake bumps into something.  A book drops.  She picks it up, latches it to her back, and keeps going.

 

Moments later...

 

Adam runs towards Blake, who is now on another cart.

 

BLAKE

Bye.

 

Blake cuts the links that connect her cart and his.  Blake looks at him as his cart stops moving.  She reaches towards her back for the book and opens it.

BLAKE

What is this?  

 

Blake reads passages of the book, envisioning the characters.

 

NAMINE

You... you were never supposed to exist, Roxas.

 

ROXAS

What...?  How could even say such a thing... even if it were true?

 

NAMINE

I’m sorry.  I guess... some things really are better left unsaid.

 

Blake flips to a page further into the book, beginning to tear up.

 

ROXAS

Organization XIII... they’re a bad group.

 

NAMINE

Bad or good, I don’t know.  They’re a group of incomplete people who wish to be whole.  To that end, they’re desperately searching for something.

 

ROXAS

What?

 

NAMINE

Kingdom Hearts.

 

Blake continues to read skipping to a later part of the scene.  She is now weeping immensely.

 

NAMINE

Roxas.  Nobodies like us are only half a person.  You won’t disappear.  You’ll be whole!

 

Blake closes the book as she can no longer control her tears.  She wipes her eyes, looking at the front cover.  There is a roman numeral two on the cover.

 

BLAKE

Kingdom Hearts.

 

Before...

 

Blake starts to think back to what had happened earlier.  Adam runs in front of Blake as she turns around momentarily.  She turns back and sees Adam’s right hand down, surprising her that her teacher was off stance.  This causes her to lose concentration and to bump into a nearby metal, cylindrical container where Adam placed the book.  The book drops as she stops.  Adam keeps running as if nothing has happened.  She picks it up and catches up.

 

...

 

BLAKE

This book was out-of-place from the beginning.  Did Adam drop this book on purpose?

It isn't far fetched at all though.  Think about it.  "Black the Beast descends from shadows"

Reading that book would make her feel overwhelmed in my opinion.

Act 1 Scene 3: Burdened

 

TWILIGHT TOWN: TUNNELS.  MIDDLE OF 358/2 DAYS AFTER XION WENT MISSING FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH RIKU AND ROXAS & AXEL ARE LOOKING FOR HER.

 

XION

Are you sure this is okay Riku?

 

RIKU

It’s best this way, Xion.

 

Riku opens up a corridor to darkness as he and Xion leave Axel and Roxas in the middle of the tunnels.  They arrive in the white room in the abandoned mansion.

 

RIKU

Stay here.  Read a book or something.

 

XION

I’ve never read books before, what are they like?

 

Riku tries to walk away the question bothers him.  He turns around.

 

RIKU

They’re like our lives, except better and unrealistic.

 

XION

Better...

 

Riku walks out of the room and heads for the library.  Xion frowns as she looks around.  There are no books to be found.

 

XION

I wonder if Roxas and Axel are alright...

 

Riku returns within minutes with a book at hand.  He hands her the book.

 

RIKU

Here’s a book.  It helped calm me down once... tame the darkness within me.

 

XION

Okay.  

 

Xion looks at the book and examines it closely.  She turns her head up and sees Riku is gone.

 

XION

R. W. B. Y.  Weiss...

 

Xion opens the book and song begins to play as if the room itself was singing it.

 

Mirror, tell me something.  Tell me who’s the loneliest of all?

 

Xion reads the book as the song keeps playing.

 

Mirror, tell me something.  Tell me who’s the loneliest of all?

 

XION (reading)

Suddenly, the white haired beauty was hit, leaving a vertical cut on her left eye.  A cut that will remain a scar on her face, but she did not falter.  Weiss, snow white, persevered, continuing to fight.

 

Fear of what’s inside of me; tell me can a heart be turned to stone?

Mirror mirror, what's behind you? Save me from the things I see.

I can keep it from the world, why won't you let me hide from me?

Mirror mirror, tell me something.  Who's the loneliest of all?

 

Xion says the final lines of the passage at the same time as the music.

 

XION

I'm the loneliest of all.

 

Xion closes the book as her emotions take over herself, not noticing she had emotions to feel.  She becomes angry throwing a book down and opening a corridor of darkness.

 

Later on...

 

TWILIGHT TOWN.  DAYS LATER.

 

ROXAS

Xion.  Where have you been?  Axel and I have been looking all over for you.

So I originally wrote a scene where Kairi fights Ruby, but I just felt it wasn’t right.  It didn’t feel like either stories and I felt rotten about it.  So I scrapped it altogether and began from a different point.  After some editing and changing ideas, I think this is more towards the feel of both stories.  I felt like I was gonna cry as I wrote it and I hope you feel the same.  Enjoy!

Act 1 Scene 4: A Friendly Reassurance

 

ON THE EDGE OF THE REALM OF DARKNESS.  ENDING OF Kingdom Hearts 2.

 

A bottles floats on the island from the vast ocean.  Sora takes the bottle, opens it and reads the note inside it.  He sits next to Riku.

 

Moments Later...

 

A Door to Light opens as Sora and Riku stare it down.  They enter the door.  The note and bottle fly into the door as well, as it closes.  The note falls back into the bottle as it closes itself and lands on a pile of snow.

 

RIGHT AT THE END OF THE “RED” TRAILER.

 

Many bullet shells fall on the ground as Ruby forms her signature stance, holding the scythe in her unique way.  She looks down to see something that doesn’t fit in, a bottle.

 

RUBY

Thinking of you wherever you are...  We pray for our sorrows to end and hope that our hearts will blend.

 

As she reads, Kairi’s voice takes over.

 

KAIRI

Now I will step forward to realize this wish... And who knows?  Starting a new journey may not be so hard...  Or maybe it’s already begun.  There are many worlds, but they share the same sky.  One sky, one destiny.

 

Another Door to Light opens in the air as Ruby is sucked in.

 

Meanwhile...

 

MYSTERIOUS TOWER.  AFTER DREAM DROP DISTANCE.

 

YEN SID

This will be your final training session before your Mark of Mastery Kairi.  You and Lea have done splendidly in your practices.

 

KAIRI

Thank you, Master Yen Sid!

 

Kairi looks at Lea, who stands there grim faced, expressing his frustration.

 

KAIRI

What’s wrong Lea?

 

LEA

I just don’t understand why I can’t bring myself to defeat Isa... even if it’s just a simulation.

 

KAIRI

That’s because you care about him Lea, but think about Sora.  He fought Riku even though he was his best friend, because he wanted to bring him back.  If you really care about him, you’ll do what’s right and save your best friend.

 

Lea stands there surprised at Kairi’s profoundness.  He looks away.

 

LEA

But Roxas is my best friend now (what about Xion? >;O)

 

KAIRI

You can have more than one best friend, Lea.  I think I can consider you one now.

 

Kairi smiles at him, while turning her head.  Lea backs off, worrying.

LEA

Hey hey hey!  I don’t wanna get the wrong idea, but you and Sora... aren’t you?

 

KAIRI

Haha, silly.  I’m just being nice.  

(Kairi becomes serious)

I forgive you for kidnapping me.  I’m sure we can bring back Roxas and Xi-

 

Kairi pauses.  She feels as if she was going to say a name, but the thought disappears.

 

LEA

Thanks.

 

KAIRI

But listen!

(Waves index finger at Lea)

Sora is mine.  Got it memorized?

 

LEA

Hey!  That’s my line!

 

Outside the tower, opens the Door to Light where Ruby falls.  Yen Sid senses the presence and guides her in using his infinite knowledge of magic.  Ruby floats into the room being sat down gently.  

 

RUBY

Where am I?

 

She gets up as she sees Kairi’s Keyblade.

 

RUBY

Ooh!  What kind of weapon is that?!?

MYSTERIOUS TOWER: BOTTOM FLOOR.  A COUPLE HOURS AFTER THE PREVIOUS SCENE.

 

Lea stands back against the cylindrical wall.  Ruby sits on the spiraling staircase.

 

LEA

Looks like it’s just us now.

 

RUBY

Yuppers!

 

LEA (rubbing chin)

So you’ve told us you’re from a high school called Signal... but I’ve never heard of it before.

 

RUBY (frowns)
Oh really?  (suddenly becomes excited)  I have two more years until I can join Beacon.  It’s going to be great!

 

Lea’s eyes widen as his attention switches to the somewhat redheaded girl sitting on the stairs.

 

LEA (surprise)

Beacon?

(thinks back, muttering)

He was talking about that before...

 

RUBY (curious)
Huh?

(turns head)

Who?

 

Lea takes a seat next to Ruby as he uses his hands to guide the story he begins to tell.

 

 

Earlier that day...

 

MYSTERIOUS TOWER: TOP FLOOR.

 

YEN SID

You must fight Saix in this book, Lea.  Open it to find yourself a week before yours, Axel’s demise.

 

Yen Sid hands Lea a book.  Lea looks at it and reads ‘Kingdom Hearts 2’ on the cover.  Yen Sid watches Lea as he opens the book.  A flash of light envelops the room, indicating Lea’s entry.

 

 

Inside the book...

 

THE WORLD THAT NEVER WAS: SAIX’S CHAMBER (Where Saix met his demise by the hands of Sora and Company).

 

Saix turns around from facing Kingdom Hearts to see his dear old friend.

 

SAIX
Axel?  No... Lea.

 

LEA
Hey Isa or should I say Xehanort’s dog now.

 

Lea jumps at Saix, immediately summoning his chakrams.  Saix responds by bringing out a claymore to swing back at Lea.

 

 

Outside the book...

 

YEN SID
My, that is quite intense fighting.

 

Yen Sid observes the Kingdom Hearts 2 Book on his desk bouncing around, symbolizing the fight going on between  the two.  Suddenly the book falls onto the floor, causing Yen Sid to look over his desk.  He picks up an opened book on the floor and puts it back on his desk, only to realize it is a different book.  

 

YEN SID
Oh no, Lea!  

 

Yen Sid sees the letters ‘R. W. B. Y.” on the book and the word ‘Black’ on the bottom.

 

 

In another book...

 

BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE “BLACK” TRAILER

 

The Kingdom Hearts 2 book falls flapping in the wind and lands in the red colored ground.  Adam walks up to it and picks it up.  He immediately recognizes the kind of book it is.

 

ADAM
A book of lore.

 

Adam goes into the book fully knowing what he might get himself into.  He enters in the middle of a one sided battle between Lea and Saix.  

 

 

In the book...

 

Lea is on the floor.  Adam jumps into the fray, blocking Saix’s downward strike.  He can immediately tell who the good and the bad are in this situation.

 

ADAM
What are you doing?  Get up and fight!

 

LEA
Who are you?

 

Adam amazingly pushes the claymore upwards and uses a series of slashes and gunshots to efficiently subdue his enemy.  Saix stares into the moon as he disappears into nothingness.

 

ADAM
From the looks of it, your savior.

LEA (saddened)

I couldn’t bring myself to do it...

 
Lea has explained his situation in detail and Adam offers him some piece of advice.
 

ADAM

Sounds like you need some conviction.

 

LEA
Yeah, I probably do.  I’m Lea by the way, got it memorized?

ADAM
Adam.

 
They shake hands.
 

ADAM

You need a reason to fight for, Lea.

(looks up)

That’s why I admire my pupil.  She’s up to the task as long as she views it as the right thing to do.  Even if she enters Beacon, I know she’ll stay true to herself.

 

LEA

That maybe true.  (smiles)  I’m assuming Beacon is a school, is it not?

 
Suddenly, something pulls Lea out of the book, mostly likely by magic of some sort, also dragging Adam out of the book and back to the red scenery.  Lea flies up and out of the place and back to the Mysterious Tower.  He is greeted by the presence of Kairi.

 
Back to the present...
 
MYSTERIOUS TOWER: BOTTOM FLOOR.
 

LEA

And then Kairi gave me a huge pep talk and you arrived.

 

RUBY
Adam, huh?  (cheerfully)  He seems like a good guy!

 
Ruby and Lea hear a huge thump from the upstairs.  Lea runs up and sees a guy in a black cloak holding the RWBY Black book.  Lea sticks out his hand summoning the Keyblade.
 

LEA
Hey!

 
The cloaked figure turns and pulls down his hood to reveal Isa.
 

ISA

Lea.  I’ve come to take this book.  You wouldn’t hurt your dear friend now, would you?

LEA (in fighting stance)
Not anymore Isa.  I’m gonna free you from the darkness that imprisons you, got it memorized?

 

ISA
Well this is-

 
As Isa says the line his face changes to a redhead with very spiky hair, similar to Lea’s hair when he was young.  The black cloak gains shades and thorns of red, white and black.
 

RX (Rex) THAW

-disappointing.  The name’s Rx Thaw, got it memorized?

LEA
Hey, that’ my line!  Stop stealing my line, damn it!

 
Ruby runs up the stairs and tries to open the door, but is repelled by some sort of magical barrier.  Rx summons a spinning chakram with his left hand as it breaks down to form a gun shape and small pieces of armor start to fall from the middle of the air to really show the gun weapon.
 

RX

I call her my Ramgun.

 

LEA
Why’s that?

 
Rx shoots the gun and a bullet comes out, it quickly starts to burn and turns into a chakram.  Lea blocks it as it spins against his Keyblade.  He hears Rx snap his right finger as the weapon clashing against his, turns into a flaming ram, catching Lea by surprise and bulldozing him to the wall.  The ram disappears.
 

LEA
Ach!

 

RUBY (from outside the door)

Lea!  Are you okay?

 
Ruby continues to smack her hands against the door, eventually trying to use her gunscythe to power through it, to no avail.  Lea drops his Keyblade as he loses consciousness.  Rx walks up to him and opens a corridor of darkness behind Lea, pushing him in.  He then takes on the appearance of Lea and opens the door.
 

RX

Hey Ruuuuuuuu-by.

 

RUBY
Are you okay?  Are you hurt?

 

Ruby inspects Rx to see everything is fine.

 

RX
I’m fine, it was just some lowly thief.  

(motioning to himself with his thumb)

I’m the great Lea, got it memorized?

RUBY (smiling)
Haha, I sure do!
