MYSTERIOUS TOWER: TOP FLOOR.  HOURS BEFORE.

 

Kairi stands next to the still amazed Ruby.  From the looks of things, Yen Sid has told as much as he could to the young girl.

RUBY

So you’re telling me... I’m in a book?

 

KAIRI

Not exactly.

(rubs cheek)

More like these books connect our universes together.

 

RUBY

That’s a little hard to believe.

 

LEA

Of course it is.

(Lea leans back and crosses his arms.)
You ever heard of this happening before?  No, cause no one ever comes back to tell the tale.

 

RUBY (surprised)
What?  You mean I can’t go back?

KAIRI
It isn’t so cut and dry like that... more like we don’t have the means to bring you back.

 

YEN SID
As Kairi says, we only have so many books.

 

Yen Sid motions to his bookshelf.  From a quick glance, one can see the white, black and yellow books.  

 

YEN SID
R. W. B. Y. RWBY is made of many installments, we only have three of the first four.

 

RUBY
So you’re saying I come from the RWBY Red book?

 

LEA
Precisely.

 

YEN SID
That is why I will task Kairi with this mission.  She will have to jump through the books and fix whatever she can.

 

KAIRI (nodding)
Yes, Master Yen Sid!

 

YEN SID

From beginning to end, you will stay in the story until you can fix it.  Consider this a mock Mark of Mastery

 

Lea (surprised)
What?!?  What about me?

YEN SID
You will sit this one out and stay here with mistress Ruby.  Please take her down stairs as I provide the rest of information needed for such a trying task to Kairi.

 

RUBY (snorting and quirkly humbled)

Mistress?

(smiling)

That’s so sweet!

 

LEA
Alright.

 

Lea opens the door, motioning his hands to Ruby.  Ruby walks out the door and down the stairs.

 

KAIRI
Don’t worry Lea!  You’ll get your chance.

 

Lea waves his hand as he begins to close the door behind him.

 

LEA
Yeah, yeah!

 

The door closes.  Yen Sid sticks his hand out in front of Kairi to summon a Keyblade.  Kairi is baffled from the development, being as it is the first time she has seen her master summon one of his own.

 

YEN SID
This is the Memory Binder.  With it, you will seal the memories affected by the chaos of these books.  You will retrieve all lost Kingdom Hearts and RWBY books and bring them back here.  

 

Kairi bows and takes the Keyblade.

 

A couple minutes later...

 

Kairi holds the RWBY Yellow book and opens it to the very first page.

 

KAIRI
Strong emotions trigger the book, but I don’t want to do that, right?

YEN SID
That is correct.  You must manually open a pathway using your key.

 

Kairi jumps back, summons and points her Keyblade towards the book.  A bright light envelops the room as she disappears.

 

In the book...

 

OUTSIDE A BAR.  MOMENTS BEFORE THE START OF THE “YELLOW” TRAILER.

 

Kairi wanders the street, Keyblade at hand, looking for subtle nuances that could possibly lead her to finishing her mission.

 

KAIRI
This places looks interes-

 

A black and red glove cover Kairi’s mouth, pulling  her back, as she disappears into the darkness.

 

MYSTERIOUS FIGURE
Mara, we have her.

Act 1 Scene 8: Thousand Worth

 

IN THE DARKNESS.  DIRECT CONTINUATION.

 

Kairi struggles to release from the hold.  After a couple seconds, she is able to do so, immediately trying to hack away at the attacker.  The figure backs off as she points her Keyblade towards her enemy.

 

KAIRI

Who are you?

MYSTERIOUS FIGURE
I-

 

KAIRI (strengthens grip)
Choose your words carefully.

 

The Mysterious Figure tries to step back, but Kairi answers with her own step forward.  He takes a huge gulp as he knows he’s at a disadvantage.

 

EDGR (Edgar) Xe (Shay)

The name’s Edgr Xe.

 

Suddenly, a group of individuals wearing different patterns of red, white and black appear around her, thirteen to be exact.  Kairi immediately knew she was in trouble and backed up to the direct middle for a better standpoint.

 

MYSTERIOUS FIGURE
Always taking whatever you want Edgr.  You’re lucky we arrived.  Looks like you would have been toast.

 

EDGR
Tch.

 

KAIRI

Organization XIII!

 

One of the individuals step forward and drop their hood.  She looks familiar, but who can she be?

 

MARA (Mah-Ruh) LUGI (Loo-Ji)

Please don’t call us that.  It is disgraceful to compare us to such low lives.  

(Sticks hands out backwards)

I am Mara Lugi, leader of Grimm.

 

KAIRI
Grimm?

(strengthening stance)

What do you guys want?

 

MARA
My my, what a tough young girl.  

(rhetorically)

Do you really think you can take all of us on?  Now be a good dear and lend us your pure heart.

 

Mara approaches Kairi.  Kairi un-summons the Memory Binder and summons her Destiny’s Embrace.  She sticks her Keyblade out, saying a line as light begins to engulf the room, causing most members to retreat into the dark depths they came from.

 

KAIRI
Faith!

 

Mara disappears and appears right behind Kairi, now holding a pink scythe.

 

VOICE INSIDE KAIRI
Kairi, behind you!

 

Kairi turns around and blocks Mara’s swing, immediately using a reflect spell to send her flying.

 

KAIRI (thinking)

Who was that?

 

NAMINE
It’s me, I’m still here after all.

 

Namine smiles within Kairi.

 

Inside Kairi...

 

DIVE TO THE HEART.

 

Kairi and Namine stand before each other on top of a white, yellow and pink patterned, stained glass station.

 

KAIRI
Namine!

NAMINE

Take this Kairi.

 

Namine hands Kairi a keychain shaped like a notepad.  Kairi takes it and examines it closely.

 

KAIRI
What’s this?

NAMINE

It’s what I think you are.

KAIRI
Which is?

 

Kairi begins to cry, unbeknownst to her at first, as Namine disappears and she is taken out of the calling station.  

 

Outside...

 

Kairi’s Keyblade changes into a new one, bearing the same Keychain Namine gave her.  As Kairi holds it, she understands.  She closes her eyes and sees a picture Namine drew.  In this picture, all those sleeping in sadness smile happily with the rest of the crew and more importantly, Sora.

 

KAIRI (also smiles)

Your picture is definitely worth a thousand words, Namine.

 

Mara flies over to Kairi and swings the scythe at her, Kairi blocks and successfully deflects the weapon.

 

KAIRI
It’s over, Mara!  This Keyblade’s Thousand Worth, and you’ll never be able to compare to it!

Kairi jumps towards Mara, slashing against her and ending on the opposite side.  Mara remains suspended in the air, slowly falling.

 

MARA (laughing)
Did Namine help you, princess?

 

Once again, Mara disappears.

KAIRI (surprised)
Huh?  How do you know that?

NAMINE (inside Kairi)
I knew it!  Marluxia!

Is she now?  Is she?The bad guys are anagrams + X... Some of them won't have the X like Mara because you know what the sigil represents after playing DDD, so Mara doesn't have use for an X in some names.  I tried making them into full names to change it up a bit.

Well, here’s another scene.  I’m currently doing something to the story that I just want to finish so I can move on to better parts.  Heads up, Scene 15 will be the end of this jumping around books... Enjoy!

Act 1 Scene 9: Agreement

 

DIRECT CONTINUATION.  REALM OF DARKNESS CONNECTED TO “YELLOW” TRAILER.

 

MARA

You lucked out princess.  I’ll leave you alone for now.

 

Mara disappears in the darkness.  

 

KAIRI (wondering)
Marluxia?

NAMINE
He was...

 

Namine appears in Dive to the Heart again and touches Kairi’s hands like Roxas did to Sora in Dream Drop Distance.  Kairi’s heart is suddenly filled with all of Namine’s troubles.  Kairi begins to cry.

 

KAIRI

Namine... I didn’t know.

 

NAMINE
Know what?
(pause)
That I took Sora’s memories?  I feel awful abou-

 

KAIRI
Not that Namine!  I’m sure you had your reasons...

(full of sorrow)
Why did Sora do that- chose to forget about you -for me?  

 

No response.  Namine simply smiles at Kairi.  Suddenly, Kairi’s vision of Namine switches to that of Xion’s momentarily.

KAIRI
Who-

(suddenly forgetting)

Huh?

 

Kairi is transported out of the Realm of Darkness and back to the “Yellow” Trailer to see Aqua and Yang’s confrontation.  Seemingly unscathed from being in the darkness for quite sometime without protection, she sees Yang flying after being hit with Aqua’s Keyblade.

 

KAIRI (cringing)
Ouch!

 

Yang runs over to Aqua and sends her flying.  Kairi manages to respond by casting a Stopga spell, something she had learned from the king himself.

 

KAIRI
Now let’s see...

 

Kairi summons the Memory Binder, switching it with her regular Keyblade.  Kairi points the Keyblade at Yang and then Aqua, effectively sealing their memories with relative ease.  She then switches Keyblades again and opens a portal back to Aqua’s time directly in front of Aqua’s estimated trajectory.  They unfreeze.

 

YANG
Well that’s that!

 

Yang pats herself off as she begins to forget the whole interaction, completely losing thought of it as she makes her way to the bar.

 

KAIRI

That was easy- too easy! -reveal yourself!

 

Kairi examines the environment, looking around, noticing a strong heavy feeling in the air.  Suddenly a person she recognized to be a member of Grim pops up right before her, almost challenging her to do something.

GRIM MEMBER

Listen, I don’t really feel like dealing with you right now, actually- I don’t feel like dealing with you at all.  So can you do me a favor and not interrupt our plans?

 

Kairi looks there, puzzled.  She tries making sense of his words, but his lazy sounding voice was the only thing to get through her mind.  He isn’t exactly threatening her.  What does she have to fear?

 

KAIRI
As long as your plans don’t involve interrupting my mission or the balance of the worlds-

 

GRIM MEMBER
Well, that’s where you have us pegged.  We want the same thing you do, balance.

 

KAIRI (surprised)
What?

GRIM MEMBER
We just want to disconnect these little books and destroy them.  We don’t want to be part of your Keyblade War.

 

Kairi looks shocked.  How does he know about such a thing?  Who is this guy?

 

GRIM MEMBER
No need to panic.  We know this due to the sheer fact that Xemnas tried to recruit us once.

 

Kairi’s stance becomes more refined, strengthening her position.  Her face becomes rough as she closely listens to him.

KAIRI
And?

GRIM MEMBER
We declined.

 

KAIRI
What happened after?

GRIM MEMBER (relaxed)
He imprisoned us in a realm.  After some time, we encountered two Nobodies that saved us from the imprisonment, offering us a chance to get back at him.

 

KAIRI
Why tell me all of this?

 

GRIM MEMBER
Because we never got our revenge, but that matters not.  Xemnas, Xehanort, whatever he’s calling himself is a hindrance to our plan.  We all have chosen not to interfere with your universe, so we would like it if you did the same with ours.  Finish your mission and leave us be.

 

The member disappears in the darkness as Kairi walks into the bar, watching Yang take out a whole bunch of people and ending up in the street with her sister, Ruby.  Kairi is a bit confused to see Ruby there, but is immediately sent out before further analyzation.

 

Meanwhile...

 

SOMEWHERE IN THE REALM OF DARKNESS.

 

MARA
Did you attach the sigil to her?

GRIM MEMBER

Just as planned.

So, just because I’m patching up all the holes before continuing where Rx is pretending to be Lea with Ruby’s company, this scene will be about Yen Sid!  Enjoy the old retired master! Here's a short scene, bonus cause it's short and it's unfair to hold it out.

Act 1 Scene 10: A Deal with Time

 

MYSTERIOUS TOWER.  ONE LAST TIME LET’S REWIND AN HOUR BEFORE.

 

Kairi holds the RWBY “Yellow” book as Yen Sid tells her his final words.

 

YEN SID
You must do this Kairi, for the safety of everyone their memories must be erased.

 

KAIRI
I-It just doesn’t feel right...

 

YEN SID
It’s what must be done.

KAIRI (hesitant)
I understand...

 

Kairi goes into the book as Yen Sid catches the book with his magic, guiding it back to his desk.  He then walks over to the shelf to pick up a similar book, but instead of it having to do with either universes, the only word written on it’s cover was ‘Origin.’  What can this book be?  Yen Sid opens the book to the ending page and summons his Keyblade, yet again, immediately entering it.

 

Inside the book...

 

ORIGINS.  WHITE ABYSS.

 

Yen Sid enters the book and sees nothing but white nothingness.

 

YEN SID (thinking)
I shall have a word with the creator of these books.

 

Yen Sid immediately flies west to see a person floating in midair writing a book.  The person turns to see Yen Sid.

 

YEN SID
Time, we must end this nonsense.

 

Time is the creator of each book, documenting everything ever to occur in each dimension.  He has a tough job to fill and only he can fill it... well him and his sister.  Yen Sid looks around, noticing something amiss.

 

YEN SID
Where is your sister?

 

TIME
Do you mean, Space?

YEN SID
Yes, we need her to jointly end the production of these gateways.

 

TIME (misunderstanding)
These aren’t gateways, Yen Sid.  They are documentation of the past.

 

YEN SID
Nonetheless, they can be used as portals to each other’s worlds.

 

TIME
That is not my concern.

 

Yen Sid can’t believe what he’s hearing.  Why is Time, his old friend, acting like this?  He’s endangering the very fabric he protected, time.  But Yen Sid is a crafty old coot and he knows how to deal with every situation it appears.

 

YEN SID

Then your books will become inaccurate if you do so.

 

TIME (angered)
What?

YEN SID
If people begin to cross books, the portrayal will be inaccurate to the actual story.

 

TIME (flustered)
That must not happen!  Gather all copies of my books and destroy them all!  I will not let history be a mockery!

 

YEN SID
Then you agree to keep all copies of your book here?

TIME (antsy)
Yes, yes!  I trust you with the Origins copy, as you are the only one with it.

 

YEN SID

I understand old friend.

Act 1 Scene 11: Breakthrough Part 1

 

“YELLOW” TRAILER.  RIGHT AFTER KAIRI AND THE GRIMM MEMBER’S CONFRONTATION.

 

Kairi walks into the bar, unbeknownst that a Recusant’s Sigil has been put on her back.

 

NAMINE
Kairi!

KAIRI (a little surprised)

Yeah, Namine?

NAMINE
You might want to check the back of your shirt and wipe off that symbol.

 

Kairi looks at her back to see an X placed on it.

 

KAIRI
What is this?

NAMINE
It’s a way to track you.  That guy placed it on you earlier.

 

Kairi tries to wipe it off, to no avail.  

NAMINE
If you can’t wipe it off, take the shirt off instead and put it somewhere else, maybe on one of those girls over there.

 

KAIRI

No Namine!  That’s mean!  I’ll just put it right here.

Kairi puts her shirt on the stairs.  She wears a plain white shirt under the pink one she had just discarded.  The trailer ends as Kairi is sucked away.  Kairi arrives in a different room in the tower, much to her surprise.  She is in the fairies’ quarters right next to Yen Sid’s loft.

 

KAIRI
How did the book end up here?

 

She opened the door to see Lea confronting someone and being defeated with ease, immediately closing it as quietly as possible.

 

KAIRI (thinking)
This is bad.

 

She opens the door slightly again, pointing her key into the corridor the guy had opened, a small light flashes behind him as he opens the door for Ruby.

 

KAIRI (still thinking)
Oh no, Ruby!

 

RX
I’m fine, it was just some lowly thief.  

(motioning to himself with his thumb)

I’m the great Lea, got it memorized?

RUBY (smiling)
Haha, I sure do!

 

NAMINE

Kairi, that keychain I gave you.

 

Kairi summons the Thousand Worth and looks at it closely.

 

NAMINE (continuing)
It has the ability to write yourself into other people’s hearts-

 

KAIRI
Kind of like you, Namine?

NAMINE
Yeah, but since it affects everyone instead of just Sora, it isn’t as strong.  You have relay a small message to her.

 

KAIRI

Can’t I just attack him from behind?

NAMINE
Marluxia is inside the room also.

 

Kairi takes a quick peek to see Mara Lugi hiding with some sort of power.

 

KAIRI (wondering)
How is she doing that?

 

NAMINE
I’m thinking someone is refracting the light.

 

KAIRI
What?

NAMINE
Anyways, you have one shot.

 

Kairi slightly opens the door and points the Keyblade at Ruby, sending a light through the room.  Mara picks up on this immediately opening the door, seeing Kairi.

KAIRI (surprised)
Uh, hi?

 

Mara summons her scythe again, but notices a checkmate position, calling back her weapon and looking back.  She puts her hand up and turns a complete 180 to see Lea holding his Keyblade at her.

 

LEA
Checkmate, whoever you guys are!

DIRECT CONTINUATION.  MYSTERIOUS TOWER.

 

Mara looks towards Ruby and Rx, noticing Rx on the floor with Ruby’s gunscythe pointed at him.

 

RUBY
I got your message Kairi!  Thank you!

 

Mara drops her hood.

 

LEA (immediately responding)
Marluxia- No, you’re a girl.

 

MARA
You could say it was a deal with the Devil.

 

LEA
Here to mess with us again?  Even when I’m not even part of the Organization anymore...

 

MARA
We only want to separate these two dimensions completely.

 

Namine momentarily and spiritually leaves Kairi, lashing out at her former accomplice.  She moves forward pointing at Kairi.

 

NAMINE
Then why did you guys put a sigil on Kairi?

 

LEA
And why attack us?

MARA
The sigil was just supposed to make sure you did your job.  The attack was due to the fact that Lea has foiled my plans too many times.

RUBY (butting in)
Why impersonate Lea then?

MARA

So you don’t grow suspicious while we patch everything up.

 

KAIRI (hostile)
I don’t believe you!

 

MARA
Fair enough.

 

Mara backs up as Lea, Kairi and Namine surround her inside Yen Sid’s loft.

 

MARA
I’ll back off and leave you to your duties, just make sure you finish your job and separate our two universes... for good.

 

LEA
You do realize you’re part of ours.

 

MARA
I was...

(pause)

Not anymore.

 

Mara uses her power to bring a book from Yen Sid’s desk in front of their eyes.

 

NAMINE (reading)

On this very day, a new byproduct of man and Grimm was born.  Mara Lugi, once man, now woman.  Her soul persecuted by self betrayal and guilt, she must live her life in this prison, a creature mandated by dust.

 

KAIRI (surprised)
It’s true...

 

MARA
There you have it.

 

RUBY
T-That doesn’t matter!  You’re a creature of Grimm and I have to slay you to save our world as well!

 

Ruby jumps up and pulls up her gunscythe, before being halted by the appearance of Yen Sid.

 

YEN SID

Mistress Ruby, please stay still.

 

Everyone stands there able to move their head, but nothing more.  Kairi and Lea immediately recognized it to be a Selective Stopza spell that only Yen Sid, himself, can use.

 

YEN SID
Mara is right.  As much as we would want hers and her henchmen’s demise, we cannot interfere with the natural course of time.

 

KAIRI
What are you saying?

YEN SID
Everyone must go back to their respective times and books to live out their natural course plotted by destiny.  We will not interfere.

 

RUBY (upset)
But-

YEN SID
I am sorry, Ruby.  You will one day have to deal with Mara yourself, but we cannot help you.

 

LEA (in disbelief)
What?  Are you kidding me?

NAMINE
Yeah!  Marluxia originated from our universe!

YEN SID
It is what must be done and-

 

KAIRI (finishing Yen Sid’s thought)
What must be done might be hard, but it’s the right thing to do.

 

YEN SID

Now I permit you and your henchman to disappear from our universe on the condition you never come back.

 

MARA
Understood.  But a warning to Ruby.  One day, you and I will be put up against each other, and you winning or losing will determine the fate of not only your universe, but this as well.

 

Mara starts to disappear.  Rx has taken this time to already retreat.

 

MARA
Good luck, miss fairy tale hero.

 

RUBY (yelling)
Wait!

Act 1 Scene 13: Shades of Gray

 

DIRECT CONTINUATION.  MYSTERIOUS TOWER.

 

Mara obeys the command, a little interested in what the girl might want to say.

 

MARA
Yes?

RUBY
Tell me about you...

(sad)
Why do I have to fight you?

KAIRI (tearing a little)
Ruby...

 

NAMINE (adding to the interview)
And what is Grimm?

 

MARA
As much as you all may think our dimensions do not connect, they do and one day there will be a time when my group and yours will coincide.

 

RUBY
But how... how do you know it has to end that way?

MARA
We are Grimm.  We exist to provide an equal life to the creatures of Grimm.  We are their advocates, their heroes, as hard it is to belief.  Your kind, man, wants us gone, they control us like we’re slaves, not worthy of living.

(passionately)
I for one am done of persecution.  Whether it is persecution of the lack of a heart or persecution of being a different creature, I will no longer tolerate it.  One day, you and your rag tag team will try to slay us and we will do the same.  If we win, I will not hesitate to recreate both dimensions and make sure it is equal for everyone.

 

RUBY
But...

KAIRI (swayed)
If that’s true...

 

RUBY
What are we fighting for then?

KAIRI
I doubt it’s freedom anymore...

 

After sharing some thoughts with Ruby inside her very heart, Kairi’s heart and hers were intertwined, thus gaining both girls the knowledge of both their dimensions.

 

RUBY
But creatures... creatures of Grimm are bad, that’s what they always told us in history class...

 

MARA
The world isn’t black and white.  We are all fighting for existence.

Ruby and Kairi begin to cry.  Lea stands there puzzled at the whole event.  Yen Sid is indifferent.

 

NAMINE
It’s true...

(giving up her fight)
We’re all misunderstood... but maybe we were never meant to exist any-

 

KAIRI (wiping her tears)

RUBY (wiping her tears)

MARA
You cannot.

 

RUBY
Why not?

MARA
Because you will forget these events.  You are from a book of origin and not the tale itself.

 

RUBY (confused)
What do you mean?

MARA (bluntly)
You are not the real Ruby.

(pointing at the bookshelf)
The real Ruby is in those books, RWBY 1 and so forth.  Those four books are just character origins.  Every person in existence has a book to describe their origin and yours is RWBY Red.

 

RUBY (surprised)
What?!?

 

KAIRI (confused)
Then why try to fix the books if they don’t affect their stories?

MARA
Because any change in those books affects those character’s personalities.

 

YEN SID
We can no longer speak to you Mara, we must finish our mission and you must go back.

MARA
That is my end game Ruby and if you ever somehow remember this, maybe you can help... but I won’t be waiting for such a thing.  I’ll see you soon.

 

Mara disappears, dropping a book on Yen Sid’s desk.  The book reads, ‘End Game.’

Act 1 Scene 14: Scattered Memories

 

MYSTERIOUS TOWER.  CONTINUATION.

 

KAIRI
Ruby...

 

Kairi and Lea stand there, still in awe.  Yen Sid has gone into the Origins book once again to tell Time of what has transpired.

 

RUBY (barely sane)
I’m okay Kairi, can we just finish what we started?

KAIRI

Sure.

 

LEA (knowingly)

I’m guessing you want me here to guard the fort...

 

KAIRI
Sorry Lea.

 

Kairi touches Lea’s right shoulder before opening a portal into the RWBY Black book.

 

LEA
Say hi to Adam for me.

 

KAIRI (smiling at him)

Will do.

 

Ruby stays silent as the two girls enter the “Black” trailer.

 

In the book...

 

“BLACK” TRAILER: WOODS.  

 

Kairi and Ruby appear behind trees as a book (Kingdom Hearts 2) falls onto the floor.

 

RUBY
That must be the book that fell into this book.

 

KAIRI (nodding)
Right!

 

Moments later...

 

Adam appears out of the book and before they can reach it, he has already grabbed the object and made it to Blake.  They follow the two, who slide down a mountain and jump onto a train.  Kairi seems hesitant.

 

RUBY
Let’s go!

 

KAIRI
Uh, you sure we ca-ahhhhhhhh

 

Before Kairi can process the act, she is already on her way down with Ruby.  Ruby lands on her feet while Kairi falls a little flat, luckily still on the train.

 

RUBY
Just what kind of guardian are you, Kairi?

 

KAIRI (offended)

Hey!  I have you know-

 

ROBOT
Intruders!

RUBY
No time for that!  Let’s go!

 

Ruby grabs Kairi’s hand as they run forward through the top of the train.  They eventually make it to another cart, seeing Blake and Adam cut through a bunch of enemies.  They hide behind some barrels.

 

BLAKE
Bye.

 

RUBY
Now Kairi!

 

Kairi points the Memory Binder at Blake to erase her memories, but misses and hits Adam instead.  He immediately forgets anything to do with the book and his memories of Lea and Saix.

RUBY
Close enough, now her!

Kairi does the same for Blake and Blake faints on the floor, dropping the book right next to her, thankfully still on the train.  They run to stand her up and take the book.

 

RUBY
What now?

 

KAIRI
Looks like our jobs are done here, so we shou-

 

RUBY
What about her?

 

KAIRI
She’ll wake up soon, I might have launched a little too much at her, though.

 

RUBY
Ah, we should stay until she wakes up though!

KAIRI
I think you’re right.

 

 

After staying for some time, they leave at Blake’s first yawn.  They arrive at the tower to see Lea snoozing, but do not complain.  They look through the books to see one missing.

 

KAIRI
Shouldn’t there be a White book?

 

RUBY
I think you’re right.

 

The two look around, but to no avail.

 

KAIRI
Well, Master Yen Sid said that Aqua came from a different time because she had access to the Yellow book in the past, so he took the book from the past and immediately moved it here.

 

RUBY
You think the White book is somewhere in the past?

KAIRI
It must be... but we could find it in the present, couldn’t we?

RUBY (head hurting)
I don’t know... let’s just find a way to get it!

 

Ruby looks at the bookshelf and sees every Kingdom Hearts book there, neatly ordered and in great condition.

 

RUBY (being thoughtful)

Well with every book for Kingdom Hearts returned, maybe we can find it in there.

 

KAIRI (analyzing)

It would be too much work to look for it individually, we need a point of entry.

 

Lea wakes up to hear half of their conversation.

 

LEA
I think I know what book you two are looking for.  I remember Roxas carrying a similar book during our time at the Organization.

 

KAIRI
So it’s between these two books, right?

Kairi points at the books, Kingdom Hearts 2 and 358/2 Days.

 

LEA (sure, but becoming confused)
It’s the latter.  I remember Roxas taking it from Xi-Xi... no, was it a she?

 

Lea questions himself as the two girls open the book and enter it.

 

In the book...

358/2 DAYS.  DIRECT CONTINUATION TO SCENE 3.

 

Kairi and Ruby arrive to see Roxas next to an unconscious Xion, who is taken away by Axel.  There is no book to be found.

 

RUBY (turning towards Kairi)
Looks like this isn’t the right place, so-

 

KAIRI
We missed.

Kairi points her Destiny’s Embrace upwards and lead them back to the tower.  

 

LEA (wondering)
What happened?

KAIRI
We shot too far out.

 

LEA
Ah.

 

They open the book to an earlier segment, being led into a white room.  They see a black haired girl listening to a song being played mysteriously around the room.

 

XION

I’m the loneliest of all...

Act 1 Scene 15: Forgotten

 

TWILIGHT TOWN: MANSION: WHITE ROOM.  358/2 DAYS.

 

Riku opens the door to see the two girls, Ruby instinctively responds.

RUBY
Kairi!

 

Ruby grabs Kairi’s Memory Binder and points it at Riku, he blocks the attack, but it bounces around the room, hitting him anyways.  Kairi is too surprised to react.

 

RIKU
Ugh... Kairi...

 

Xion turns around to see unwanted visitors, as Riku collapses on the ground.

 

XION (surprised)
Riku!

(turns head, pause)

Did he say Kairi?  Are you...

 

KAIRI
I’m sorry... have we met?

RUBY
Enough!  We don’t have time for this.

 

Ruby points the Keyblade again, this time to Xion.  The blast hits Xion, but it does not faze her one bit.

 

XION (tearing just a little)
Was I supposed to feel something?

 

RUBY (surprised)
Huh?

 

Ruby does it again.  Same conclusion.  She keeps doing it, making a fool of herself every time.  Kairi calls back her Keyblade, changing it to the Destiny’s Embrace when resummoning it.

 

KAIRI
Enough Ruby!  Why aren’t your memories being binded?

XION (grins, but her eyes show sorrow)

I guess it’s cause I’m already memories myself...

RUBY
What do you mean by that?

 

XION
Xemnas told me I was an imperfect replica of Roxas, made from Sora’s memories of her.

 

Xion points to Kairi.  Kairi is shocked.

 

KAIRI
Xi-Xion?

XION
Yeah... Don’t worry.  I’ve already made the decision to return back to Sora.  I hated the feeling of having my friends being torn apart.  I never want anyone else to feel like that.

 

Ruby begins to cry, although not comprehending the whole situation, just looking at Xion’s eyes could cause her the same pain.  Maybe it is her tie built with Kairi or maybe the situation really is that disheartening.  Ruby runs to Xion and hugs her.

 

KAIRI
Xion?

XION
Yes?

KAIRI
Mind if you give us that book?  It’s causing trouble for us in the future.

 

XION (surprised)

The Fut- Ah.  I understand.

 

Xion puts the book down on the table.  (Wait? In Scene 3, Xion throws the book down... why didn’t she do that this time?  It’s cause Kairi intervened.  Yen Sid was right when he said that the slightest things can change an outcome.  Or does it really?)  Kairi and Ruby leave, saying their last words of farewell to Xion.

 

KAIRI
Xion, I’ll promise to help Sora bring you back.

 

Kairi smiles as they disappear.  Xion becomes angry at the sole fact that she’s the cause of these many problems for everyone.  Xion sees a book she had missed earlier, when looking for a book.  It happened to be stuck underneath a small corner.  She reads the title, ‘Happy Ever After,’ immediately becoming mad at it and throwing it on the floor.  She opens a corridor of darkness.

 

 

Back to Kairi and Ruby...

 

PRESENT TIME.  MYSTERIOUS TOWER.

RUBY (sad)
I guess this is it, Kairi.

 

KAIRI
I guess so.

 

LEA
Enough with your sappy goodbyes, you’ll have to open a portal to Red’s book-

(pointing at Ruby, then the book)

-and send her and her memories of this packing.  Then Yen Sid and I, then yourself.

 

Even with Lea’s straightforward orders, the two girls still want to have their corny farewell.  They begin to cry for a bit and eventually part ways, doing exactly what Lea has ordered.

 

RUBY (tear leaving her right eye)
Bye.

 

Kairi points the Keyblade at Ruby and afterwards, sends her back to her book.

 

 

Later...

 

Yen Sid comes back from his third visit to Origins, returning all original copies of the books to Time.  Kairi seals Lea’s and then Yen Sid’s memories.  Kairi points the Keyblade at her heart.  She smiles.

 

Kairi (tearing)
This was fun.

Hm, reasons.  I chose to do it this way because we don’t know how canon the trailers are and I really want to make this fit into the two series as seamless as possible.  Act 2 Scene 1 will be up soon.

Guess what, guys!  New act, new font!  As you all know, this story is called Books of Lore, emphasizing the significance of words.  Font is no different!  How you choose to display each chapter can be taken from many different angles.  I feel this will best some up how this act will be.  First of all, the font is bigger, just like the act and it’s bubbly and pops out, just like the act.  Going all out on this one guys!

 

This is Act 2: New Beginnings and also Mirror Act 2: Grimm Origins.  Yup, two acts in one.  Basically, it’ll happen like this:

Act 2: New Beginnings

Scene 1: Uprooted

 

MYSTERIOUS TOWER.  AFTER Kingdom Hearts 3.

 

Yen Sid sits on his chair as he looks outside, waiting for everyone to arrive.  

OUTSIDE.

 

Three armored figures fly onto the island world.  They are the cast of Birth by Sleep, Terra, Ven and Aqua.  Soon everyone starts popping up, all heading straight to Yen Sid’s loft.  Everyone, meaning EVERYONE (Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Namine, Xion, Lea, Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Eraqus, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy) enters the room.  A blond man enters the room last.

 

ANSEM THE WISE
It is good to see you all, my friends.

 

YEN SID
Ansem, the same to you.

 

MICKEY (wondering)
So what exactly did you want us to do Yen Sid?

 

RIKU
Mickey, you don’t know?

 

MICKEY (confused)
Do you, Riku?

 

SORA (teasing)
Haha, looks like the King isn’t so all-knowing!

 

YEN SID
Mickey, old pal.  It seems you haven’t received the memo-

 

LEA (interjecting, smirking)

It’s a party, your highness.

 

AQUA (butting in)

Yes, Mickey, we’re here to celebrate our recent victory.

 

VEN

Yeah!  This is all so weird to me still.

 

Ventus looks at Roxas.  It seems it is still awkward between the two of them.  Roxas and Namine sit next to each other enjoying themselves, laughing.  Xion looks at them a bit jealous until Riku covers her eyes.  

 

XION (struggling)
Hey!

 

RIKU

Oh lighten up.

XION (brushing his hands away)
You changed, Riku!  You used to be so uptight!

 

SORA
Haha, he was wasn’t he?

 

RIKU (punching Sora’s shoulder playfully)

It’s your fault!  That happy go lucky mood of yours affects all of us.

 

Kairi jumps towards Sora as he catches her and gives her a piggyback ride.

 

KAIRI
You should be thanking, Sora!

 

ROXAS
It’s a bit cramped in here.

 

ERAQUS
I agree with the boy, Yen Sid.  We could use more space.

 

The door opens hitting Terra’s head.

 

TERRA
Ach!

 

Aeleus, Even, Ienzo, and Dilan enter.

 

IENZO (smiling)
Hi everyone!

 

XION

Looks like someone’s awfully chipper!

 

DILAN

I don’t see why not.

 

AELEUS

We’re just like everyone else.  We’re glad the battle ended the way it did.

 

LEA (mood lowering)

Too bad Isa couldn’t make it.

 

EVEN
What happened to Isa was a tra-

 

NAMINE
Ah, ah ah!  It’s time to celebrate guys!  We should get some tea and cake!

 

SORA
How about chips, we need chips.

 

A figure appears in the back of the room, no one notices due to their guards being down from the countless distractions and overwhelming happiness.

 

YEN SID
You are right, my friend.

 

Yen Sid uses his magic to expand the room.  Everyone is surprised.  Roxas and Namine, leaning on the wall, sitting down, fall back to the ground as the wall spreads out.

 

ERAQUS
Your magic never ceases to amaze me, Yen Sid.

 

SORA, ROXAS, and VENTUS
WOAH!!

 

KAIRI, NAMINE, and XION

This is amazing.

 

Both trios look at each other with serious faces, stay silent for a couple seconds, and begin to laugh hysterically.

 

LEA
To be young...

 

AQUA (teasing)

I’m pretty sure you’re close to Ven’s age Lea!

 

Lea looks away, blushing a bit.  Terra closely examines the two and puts his arms around the two.

 

TERRA (unreadable)

Well, that’s enough of that.  How about we get some cake guys.

 

The mysterious figure goes into the Fairie’s Chamber, still unnoticed.  He opens up drawers until he finds three books, taking all three out.  He sends two to the realm of Darkness and carries one, exiting.  Everyone is having fun, sipping all sorts of beverages and eating all sorts of snacks.  The figure drops his signature black, red and white cloak and out comes black wings.  He flies up.

 

WINGED FIGURE

Listen!

 

Everyone turns, instinctively summoning their weapons.

 

SORA
What do you want?!

 

The hostility and tension in the room are thick.  Everyone points their weapon at the intruder.

 

Cifer (Cypher) Xul (Shool)

The name is Cifer Xul.  I’m here to bring you all to the destined place.

 

Cifer opens the book upwards and a light emerges from it.  Kairi instinctively sends some sort of light based spell towards him as he is surprised at what the book reads.

 

Cifer Xul (surprised)

New Beginnings?  This is the wrong book!

 

Cifer uses the book to block the attack, out of habit, and inadvertently reflects the blast every direction, sort of like a mist spray.  Everyone is hit, even him, causing him to drop the book.  Yen Sid, having the strongest resistance to magic is the last one to be subdued as each one falls to the ground unconscious.  He looks towards Kairi’s Keyblade, realizing she had used the Memory Binder for this interaction.

 

YEN SID
This isn’t good.

 

Yen Sid points his Keyblade towards the sky sending a light out into the Lanes Between.  To where, only Yen Sid knows.  The book begins to suck up everyone into it as they fall, all being lightly laid on the ground in different places in a large bustling city.  Ven, having slept so long, has built a strong passive urge to awaken faster and stay awoken longer, clearly showing this by waking up first.  He looks to his side and only Aqua is there and another girl with yellow hair that he cannot recognize.  Ven scratches his head as he examines the alley they ended up in.

 

VEN (wondering)
Where are we?

Mirror Act 2: Grimm Origins

Scene 1: Uprooted

 

IN A SMALL HOUSE.  RWBY WORLD.

 

A shivering, little boy squats in a closet in the warm embrace of his mother.  Loud bangs are heard emanating from the front door, eventually knocking it over.  More loud noises are heard from the boy’s perspective, clearly hearing the rampaging through the house.  The footsteps travelling everywhere eventually come to a seize, the intruders leave.

 

MOM
Honey, honey, it’s okay.

 

BOY (crying)
Mom, why are they after us?

 

MOM
Because we are savages to them.

 

BOY
What make us so savage?

 

MOM
We are creatures of Grimm.

 

Later...

 

TIME SKIP: 5 YEARS LATER.  IN THE WOODS

 

The boy is now thirteen and outside watching his dad cut trees with a large axe.

 

BOY
Dad, mom told me that they hate us cause we’re creatures of Grimm.

 

DAD
That is true, boy.

 

BOY
Why?  We don’t harm them.

 

DAD (sighing)
That’s the thing, everyone likes to generalize.  Man mostly encounters the bad seeds, often classifying us with the many.

 

BOY
Why?  But that’s unfair!

DAD
The world isn’t fair, Ficer (Fy-Sir).

 

FICER
Mom fought for making it fair!  Making life fair!  Doesn’t that matter?

 

DAD (angry)

And look where it led her.  Your mom’s gone, Ficer, and we, well we’re scavenging for everyday necessities.  Don’t let her sacrifice be in vain, so-

 

An arrow flies through the way as it begins to pick up speed and burns, most likely due to it being dust imbued.  It hits the dad.

 

DAD (coughing blood)

Ficer, you must live on.

 

FICER (crying)
Dad...

 

The dad throws the axe at the boy, prompting Ficer to  instinctively catch it.  A barrage of arrows pierce through the trees, climaxing and make their descent towards the general area of the two.  Ficer runs behind a tree, taking out a short sword, cleverly hidden in the axe, that happened to be it’s sheathe.  He turns the sword over, connecting it with the axe, to produce a sort of staff.  He then kicks the axe blade off to reveal a small sharp metal part on the other side. He now has a lance. He picks up the axe head, that has a handle on it’s blunt side. He puts the lance behind his neck as he grabs it from both sides, separating the two now connected with rope.

 

FICER
I’ve had enough of you filthy men, it’s time to fight back!

 

Ficer’s dad is old and probably can’t take them, but Ficer is young and inexperienced.  What can he possibly do?  He runs up to his newly established enemies and starts fighting with intensity.  His weapons are unique and catches the basic-weapon-armed enemies down easily.  One archer manages to escape.  A strange figure appears behind Ficer.

 

DEATH
Kid, you seem talented, how about joining us.

 

FICER
Who is us?

 

DEATH
Grimm, the liberation army.

 

Ficer looks at the tall figure.  He seems questionable, but he can tell he is a creature of Grimm.  He is hesitant.

 

FICER
What’s in it for me?

 

DEATH
I can give you the powers you seek.

 

Later...

20 YEARS LATER.  REALM OF DARKNESS, BRIDGE BETWEEN UNIVERSES.

 

Ficer floats in front of Death, with powers he has acquired from the same person.  His black wings flap behind him, keeping him afloat.

 

DEATH
Your training is finally complete young Lucifer.

 

FICER
Lucifer, huh?  I like that.

 

DEATH
Lucifer, you shall be my right hand man and help me collect the rest of the necessary members.

 

LUCIFER
Understood.

 

One by one, Lucifer does as Death asked, gathering the rest of the members until ending up in the Kingdom Hearts Universe one day.

 

EDGE OF REALM OF DARKNESS.  BETWEEN BIRTH BY SLEEP AND Kingdom Hearts 1.

 

A corridor of darkness opens, revealing a cool looking old dude in an Organization uniform.

 

XIGBAR

We need more vessels Xehanort.

 

XEMNAS
Xemnas.  It is fine, it seems someone has joined us.

 

LUCIFER
What a coincidence, I’m looking for recruits also.

 

Lucifer spreads out his wings as he summons his unique weapon, but is too slow.  Xemnas teleports in front of him and by the time he can gather what has occurred, a Keyblade has already pierced his heart.  Lucifer falls to the ground, immediately turning into a Heartless. Xemnas puts down the new creation.  The remnants leaves behind a shell, immediately turning to a human-esque version of Lucifer, a Nobody.  Xemnas tries to insert a heart piece into Lucifer’s Nobody, but it is bounced away.  Death appears.

 

DEATH
That is interesting.  It seems this.

(Death holds Xemnas’s Keyblade)
This allows us to become man.

 

Death misunderstands the situation and replicates Xemnas’s Keyblade.  Xemnas calls the Keyblade back.  Death disappears into the darkness, arriving back to the bridge between universes.  Death stabs himself, turning into a Heartless and Nobody.  He slays the Heartless.

 

LUCIFER
What... What happened to me?

 

DEATH
We have a new plan my friend!  We are going to become man and rebuild the system ourselves.

 

LUCIFER
What do you mean, Death?

DEX (Decks) TAH (Ta)
Not Death.  I am Dex Tah.  And you, you my friend, Cifer Xul.

 

CIFER XUL
Anagrams?  Why not Ficer?

 

DEX TAH
That is too obvious and Cifer sounds more like man.

 

CIFER XUL

What is the X for?

 

DEX TAH
I do not know.  Those people all had X’s in their names.  I assume it is something that helps retain the form of man.  (wrong lol.)

 

CIFER XUL

After knowing you for 20 years, I still find you weird, Deathy ole’ pal.
