About the Castle That Never Was...

Posted

So, near the end of KH2, Maleficent makes it clear that she intends to take the Castle That Never Was for her own, once she cleared out the Heartless. Now, we don't see what happens after her and Pete take the fight off screen, but we can assume that she makes good on her promise to take out the Heartless. And with the rest of the Organization dead, and with no actual proof that she's living anywhere else, is Maleficent currently residing in the Castle That Never Was? And if she is, what sort of shenanigans will go down in the event that Team Xehanort returns?

Wasn't the Organization still there in DDD? (correct me if I'm wrong)

I think that was just a dream state of the world that never was not the actual world.

Wasn't the Organization still there in DDD? (correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm not sure. I thought it was kept kind of vague as to what the state of the union was there. But maybe, because Sora's out of his dream land at that point, I guess.

She probably turned it into another hallow bastion.

No, I mean when Riku went there and found the "real Organization XIII" there.

TWTNW is an inbetween world meaning it can easily exist in both sleeping and awakened status which is why the new organization chose that place to meet up given the time travel circumstances and such. Plus that was always the organizations home too :P

I want to ask more about the World That Never Was. Is that world a part of reality? Or is also a world of sleep?

Nomura: When that world’s logo appears, it indicates the boundary between the dream and reality. When Sora arrives, it’s reality and then goes into a world of sleep. Riku arrives in the sleeping world, and as you progress and the world logo appears, that’s when it becomes reality.

Aha, subtle. I assumed that, when I first played the game. Still, it's good for Nomura to confirm it
