Ummmmm, if you are talking about MX picking Ventus, it was because Ventus was originally his apprentice and I assume that he just decided to use him to create the X-Blade because he had him with him. He could have used any person with a regular heart, but that's why I think he chose Ven.

He met Ven and made him his apprentice. Xehanort says that their meeting was destiny, and that he could feel Ven's potential. However, he claims that Ven was far too gentle and therefore useless as his vessel, so instead Xehanort used him for the X-blade plan.
