Maybe. I just assumed it was an imitation, due to the similarities. They also say his thief costume copied Link, his Ranger costume copied Robin hood, his White Mage costume copied Minwu, & his Dragoon costume copied Kain Highwind.

The Dragoon costume looks just like Kain, that could've just been Squaresoft being lazy. I'd say that his Mystic Swordsman costume is similar to Minwu, I dunno about the Thief though. I haven't used Thief or WM much for him.

 

Also, for everyone who has Dissidia, switch between Bartz and Terra on the character select screen. I swear, Bartz's Dissidia design makes it look like he's crossdressing as Terra, just with a different color and slightly different clothing. They even have the same pose. ._.
