EDIT: According to Wikipedia it was rated TV-MA "due to some instances of profanity, crude humor and adult situations".

Apparently, Axis Powers Hetalia is rated TV-MA.

When I tried to watch it from the FUNimation channel on YouTube, this is what I got:

"'Hetalia: Axis Powers - Hetalia: Axis Powers (SUB) - 1 - Episode 1'

The video you have requested has been rated "TV-MA" and may not be appropriate for younger audiences

I guess it is~

That's where I've been watching them. The only problem is, it's really laggy on my computer and every episode takes forever to load. ;_:

I'm guessing that it's from all the racism. That's why they dropped the dub in the first place.

EDIT: Another confusing revelation...looks like the dub's still going on...I don't know.

But now my parents won't let me buy it.

pfffft....we're all turning into North Korea. DX Apparently, the dub is still going on....I keep hearing different things. And that's terrible. D: I'm probably going to buy it and "forget" to tell my mom what it's rated. -w-

"We rate each series as a whole and are rating Hetalia as TV-MA because of some instances of profanity, crude humor and adult situations."

thats the dumbest reason ever. usually they just give tv-14 to shows like that unless theres actual nudity or reallyyrealllyy adult situations. i wouldnt even give france an ma rating. xD;;

lol, this is a fail on their part for that reason of most of the viewers being under 18 and now cant purchase the dvds since their parents wont get them for them / will kill them if they find out the rating. P:

I know, right? The only time they use "bad language" is in episode 8 along with any scene involving Romano. And I believe Russia said "gentleman" once. One. Bloody. Time.

And the only sexual humor I can remember in the series is pervy France, and the "erogenous zone" joke (but I don't even think that's in the anime yet). FUNimation even gave Ouran High School Host Club (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ouran_host_club) a TV-14 rating, and there's more sexual humor in one episode of that show than in every episode of Hetalia combined. :P

They're probably going to sell, maybe, about 15 copies of the DVDs. If they're lucky, that is.

And the thing is, that's just the subbers. In episode...I don't know, whenever Italy randomly grows up, still wearing his feminine clothes and singing Marukaite Chikyuu, the subbers put it as "I sound like a gentleman!" But he actually says something like, "Boku no koe wa hen'na da!" which just translates to "My voice sounds weird!" So they are actually just adding more humor.

I don't know enough Japanese to figure out this on my own, but America doesn't really say "I choose you, China!" either. But that's beside the point.

If FUNimation has been relying on fansubbers to decide whether or not the show's inappropriate, I'm seriously going to laugh at the irony of that.

And, yeah, I heard that somewhere, too. xD It's really something like, "Go get 'em, China!". Or something like that. -w-;;

But I'm not saying that FUNimation is relying on the fansubbers, I'm just saying that there really isn't that much language like that. There is some racist terms (they call China something pretty bad at one point) but other than that, it would make much more sense to have it be TV-14.

I Don't know what this anime is.....but...

Form the way your discribing it sounds kinda like its in between and should be rated TV-14m (witch is like TV-MA only for 17-15 year olds.) So I guess if they did tha....then aigna I sa w this aniem wich looks like a robert rodrigaz movie.

watch it on www.watchanimeon.com xD

Oh god I remember that awesome firetruck Box xD

Crud. I watch Hetalia. Thank goodness i'll never tell my parents about it. Wait a minute. I remember showing my dad pictures of what the countries would look like as humans. And i showed him videos of Hetalia clips being used, like this one:
