Sons of Gallifrey News and General Discussion Thread

Posted

Alright, Sons of Gallifrey will probably end up being as big as Doctor Who itself, so I felt a general discussion thread was needed. If you haven't heard of Sons of Gallifrey, feel free to read up below!Official Teaserhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQ_3u4gbreo

In June of 2013, more than 3,000 people from all over the world became part of an impossible project. They would work together to put a TARDIS in orbit. Many of those people were associated with "Doctor Who", both on camera and behind the scenes.

Emboldened by the amazing success of the project, this small army of cast, crew, and dedicated fans decided to do something truly spectacular, something that has already been described as "the most ambitious project of its kind ever attempted."

Together, they would create a pilot episode for a new "Doctor Who" spin-off series called "Sons of Gallifrey." Once completed, "Sons of Gallifrey" will be presented to the BBC. The series will follow the adventures of a young Doctor and a young Master on their earliest journey through time and space, before they became enemies.

The pilot will be shot in March of 2014 in Cardiff, by an award winning team of BBC and "Doctor Who" veterans, and will star some of the UK's most talented 20-something actors, not to mention a host of familiar faces from previous series. And here's the hook: viewers won't know which of the two Time Lords is The Doctor and which is The Master. There will be plenty of clues in every episode, but really, how reliable could those clues possibly be?

The Master has always been presented as The Doctor's arch nemesis, but their relationship is much more complex than that. "Sons of Gallifrey" will explore that relationship, and by concealing the identities of the characters, viewers will be able to bond with both, free of bias, so that when their true identities are revealed, the audience will feel the same sense of loss that The Doctor experiences.

Excited yet? Wait, there's more!
