The City of Bones movie showed great potential in its over all interpretation of the book. The casting was close to perfect and the overall feeling of the book was well captured. While some parts were exeucted weakly, over all the film showed great potential should its cinematic universe be continued. Its already been promised that the City of Ashes movie will be way more closer to the book, as was many second installments of book adapation movies. Chamber of Secrets, New Moon and Sea of Monsters were all much closer to the book than their first installments were, and fans liked them much better than the first one as well. You must also consider that this was the people working on City of Bones' first time, so now that they know the world better and have listened to feedback, then the second time around may indeed be the charm! Just give it a chance, even if you did not like City of Bones, hang in there, City of Ashes onwards could be amazing films that could be even better than the books!
