Grimm Tidings (1x1x1x1(x1) )

Posted

This RP is for Neko-chan, NatronSpore, CloakedSchemerX, maybe Evelyn Bookless, and myself. No one else is allowed to post here save for the occasional comment.

"Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains; but have so easily forgotten their own story. Man, born of dust was strong, wise and resourceful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. Creatures of darkness, Grimm, were bent on returning man's brief existence to the void. But even the smallest shred of hope was enough to unlock the key to winning this war, appropriately named Dust. With nature's wrath in hand humankind fought back the darkness; and in its absence came peace, prosperity and most importantly: life. Though Grimm tidings are among us. So gather your soldiers, build your monuments to a so called "free world", but remember, there will be no victory in strength alone."

The Grimm are slowly returning stronger than ever, it is up to us huntsman, us huntresses, to combat the darkness. This story will follow the lives of four of such peoples, and perhaps a fifth.

Sikota's character:

Name: Aria Asyr

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance: Not the tallest of girls, but probably a little above average in terms of height. She's rather frail, almost to the point of being able to be called skinny, but not that thin. She has neck length, kinda messy, light auburn hair, and hazel colored eyes. She wears dark violet clothes under her rather form fitting, lavender, almost white armor. It's in your best interest not to mention her bust (or lack thereof)

Weapon: Angel's Ascent. It's a ring on her left hand that expands into a clawed glove. The tips of the claws function as a machine gun and there's different types of dust stored along each finger, which combinations can flow into the glove and shoot out the palm.

Bio: Having been training to fight ever since she could remember, Aria eventually set off on her own, believing herself ready to protect the world. She's a huntress, just not officially.

Aria sighed again and sat down on the ground.

"I don't have any parents..." She said slowly.

Dazed, Joshua looked up past the trees to the sky as two simultaneous snaps echoed throughout the quietude of the area. I looked up as the sound waves travelled, just as flames burst along the area. If I were in any other nearby tree, I'd be scorched. The culprits were above me the whole time, and quickly fled afterwards. Lost and slowly processing things, it was too late for me to get near enough to thenm. (Why did they even do this!?) I thought with a bit of angst, bringing the water properties of Dust from the air and clouds, I'm attempt to cull the flames, but, to no avail. The fires thickened and spread, consuming the forest far and wide at an exponential rate of growth. (If I can't even stop a fire right in front of me...how can I go to Beacon and slay monsters? I guess they're right....) I thought, sighing. I let out one last gust of wind upward, pulling the oxygen out of the flames temporarily, and then drifting away, looking for any of the people i'd seen today.

Ferro whirled around to face the girl. "You have parents. But even if they aren't alive anymore or they simply are not bringing you up, I am going to stay with you. You are much too vulnerable on your own out here. I will bring you to safety." Ferro packed his bow away. He didn't think the girl would run away anymore, now that she had calmed down. Ferro walked past her, and as he did, he gave her a pat on the shoulder. He considered being on good terms with her conducive to his success in keeping her alive. "Let's go."

Joshua followed the first two he saw, the ones whom were fighting the beowolves. He watched from behind a currently non-burning tree, just listening to them. He said nothing, and didn't look at them for more than a second, but listened as the girl seemed to confess a source of strife. He felt saddened already, sympathetic as always, but couldn't work up any courage to even say anything.

Aria slowly stood back up and began following the mystery man. She was reluctant, but she didn't know what to do next. The way he took down that Nevermore like it was nothing... There was no getting past him. This guy had gone more from a prince to an annoying big brother. Why couldn't it have been her actual brother instead? She missed him. "I'm Aria, by the way." She said.

Ferro tilted his head slightly at Aria's words. "Ferro." He kept walking through the trees. He knew she would follow by this point. Ferro decided to carry his bow. It would be better that way if he needed to use it. He spun it out and fitted an arrow, but left it undrawn. He entered a state of unconscious alertness, taking everything in around him with a glance.

Aria regarded Ferro. He looked... Wary. He was a jerk and definitely a bit old for her, but this wariness brought back his attractive mysteriousness from earlier. Though now that he was confirmed a big jerk, Aria decide she could mess around a bit. "So, Ferro," she asked innocently, trotting over to his side, "where'd you get that huge bow?"

Ferro spared only a glance for Aria. "I made it. It and the wings." He flexed his wings to emphasize his statement. "I won't go into the details. They would just bore you out of your mind. Unless you like that sort of thing. And this isn't a very big bow. Ten feet would be getting large." Ferro recalled the years he had spent practicing to build up to this size. He could use larger if he wanted to, but this size and draw strength allowed him to fire shots with impunity.

Seeing that all seemed well with these two, aside from them not even giving mention to the blazing forest, Joshua decided to.leave and see his most recent Professor from Signal Academy. He was as qualified as a professor at Beacon, but he chose to teach the younger students of Signal. Hopefully he could give advice or even consult to the professors at Beacon, in order to help Joshua get to attend Beacon.

"So Kiiro....how many people do you think we burned?" Akai asked quietly as the two walked through the town.

"I doubt we burnt anyone." Kiiro snapped.

"Whatever you say Kiiro..." Akai sighed.

Ferro halted his forward progress. "And you hiding in the trees, you shouldn't be out here either." He turned to confront the boy who had been skirting their path. "Yes, I knew you were there. My hearing is quite acute. Unfortunately for you, it was my ears and not my nose that benefitted from the worsening of my eyesight (true fact for me irl). I wear contact lenses to correct the deficit."

Joshua, slightly nervous, yet slightly angry as he knew where this conversation may lead, merely glared back at Ferro. He gulped. In all, them knowing of his presence here didn't bug him at all. "Shouldn't be out here...?" He asked rhetorically, "And why not...?"

"Well, you should know, considering you listened in earlier. What are you, ten? I can't believe someone so young would be out here!" What am I, a chaperon? Oh well, I brought this upon myself. "What would you have done if a Death Stalker had shown up? You could have died just being out here!" Ferro put a hand under his mask and rubbed his forehead. Kids. What are they good for? "You're coming with me, I'll get you to a safe place." he said tiredly.

Joshua grunted in irritation already. "My age doesn't have to do with anything! Did you NOT just have a conversation like this moments ago!?" He asked Ferro,m acknowledging the fact Aria was here too. "What if THIS, what if THAT, those questions are all COMPLETELY irrelevant! Are you trying to make a point? Because you're not doing a very good job at getting there, and besides, I could have easily fought against a Death Stalker! Even a Nevermore wouldn't be all too difficult! You could die here just as easily as I could. But I bet you're not going to think so...." Joshua backed up a bit, not wanting to be taken by force like Aria was. "I'm younger than you, so that means I can't fight for myself. I'm younger than you, so that mean's you're always right and I'm always wrong. I've met too many people like you. You're not taking me anywhere...."

Ferro's eyes narrowed. Nobody could see it of course, but they could see the tensing of his stance. A cold and deadly serious voice issued from behind the mask. "Be content that a Nevermore is the worst thing you know." Ferro opened his wings. "Would you two rather I leave you here to die at the hands of Grimmlens and Sutherri?"

(And now we enter the realm of speculation.)

"Did you not just hear what I said? I can defend myself! But no, I'm younger than you, so that means I can't fight for myself. Is that what you're trying to say? You're proving my point-- you're being judgmental and you don't even know me! I HATE people like you...think you know everything...." Joshua grumbled, but turned around and headed away, wanting to ignore Ferro now. Hopefully Aria didn't have to deal with him too much.

Ferro watched the boy retreat into the undergrowth. "That is one who will never become a Huntsman. He lets his emotions rule him and fails to recognize his own weaknesses." he said to Aira as soon as the boy was out of earshot. "I have a weakness too, you know. And it's a failure to let people get themselves killed. Come on, we're following him. And we're going to do it from the trees." Ferro launched upward with his wings and alighted soundlessly on a tree branch.

Aria giggled. Amidst his argument with the little boy, she had hid herself in the trees a good ways away. She eventually came back upon the boy who had just stormed off. She held a finger to her lips, telling him to keep quiet before gesturing him to follow and leaping off the branch with added propulsion from the emblem she formed.

Ferro pushed off the branch and into the sky. He continued for a time until he realized the girl was nowhere to be seen. Dammit, he thought, they'll both get killed! Ferro began a systematic aerial scan of the surrounding area. No sign. Dammit! I hope they don't run into a Grimmlen.

Joshua, a bit confused, enhanced himself with an air-based Dust magic, and followed Aria. She seemed a bit chipper, probably not about to scold me as Ferrow would. She probably understood my position after all, even if I was provoked pretty quickly. Regardless, I was unsure of why she wanted me to follow her.

Ferro's search soon located the two youngsters moving deeper into the forest. Maybe I should just follow them from up here, Ferro thought. It will be easier to track them and will also prevent emotional outbursts from the boy. Ferro followed the pair silently from the air, he bow at the ready in case anything decided to show up.

Aria hopped out of the tree and extended her hand toward or rather down to the young boy. "Hiya." She said. "My name's Aria." They both seemed to have a mutual distaste for Ferro, but if that wasn't enough she could always leave him for the Beowolves.

Joshua stood awkwardly for a moment, as usual being shy whenever he met someone, unlike meeting someomeA like Ferro, who he began to dislike immediately. For people he didn't know or actually liked, though, it would take time to open up to them. He extended his hand up to Aria's anyways, "Um...h-hi...Aria...." He stuttered, "My name's...Joshua. You can call me Josh if you want, too...."

(I'm bored and so I'm going to take temporary control. Here's a Grimmlen for you. As I said earlier, this is all speculation and make-believe.)

As the pair was walking through the forest, a figure approached them out of the bushes. As it came forward, they could see that it was humanoid and completely black except for glowing red eyes with red lines radiating out from them. It's eyes seemed to grow larger and larger as it walked forward, and the forest seemed to fade and fade, until the two were standing on a featureless grey plain under a red sky. An unearthly sound seemed to come from the ground beneath their feet (or maybe it was the sky above their heads), rattling and rasping as if coming through a long pipe. "Ahahaahahaahhahaahh."

Ferro took his eyes off the boy and the girl for a moment to scan the horizon for any dangers. When he brought them back to the forest, the boy and girl were nowhere to be seen. Dammit, he thought, where'd they go? He reverted back to his meticulous scanning.

"What the..." Aria took a step back. "Joshua, do you know what that thing is?" She asked nervously. She was shivering. It was not like her to get scared like this.
