"Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains; but have so easily forgotten their own story. Man, born of dust was strong, wise and resourceful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. Creatures of darkness, Grimm, were bent on returning man's brief existence to the void. But even the smallest shred of hope was enough to unlock the key to winning this war, appropriately named Dust. With nature's wrath in hand humankind fought back the darkness; and in its absence came peace, prosperity and most importantly: life. Though Grimm tidings are among us. So gather your soldiers, build your monuments to a so called "free world", but remember, there will be no victory in strength alone."

 

The Grimm are slowly returning stronger than ever, it is up to us huntsman, us huntresses, to combat the darkness. This story will follow the lives of four of such peoples, and perhaps a fifth.

 

 

Sikota's character:

 

 

Name: Aria Asyr

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance: Not the tallest of girls, but probably a little above average in terms of height. She's rather frail, almost to the point of being able to be called skinny, but not that thin. She has neck length, kinda messy, light auburn hair, and hazel colored eyes. She wears dark violet clothes under her rather form fitting, lavender, almost white armor. It's in your best interest not to mention her bust (or lack thereof)

Weapon: Angel's Ascent. It's a ring on her left hand that expands into a clawed glove. The tips of the claws function as a machine gun and there's different types of dust stored along each finger, which combinations can flow into the glove and shoot out the palm.

Bio: Having been training to fight ever since she could remember, Aria eventually set off on her own, believing herself ready to protect the world. She's a huntress, just not officially.

 

 

Aria couldn't help but be a little disappointed as she jogged over to the four of them. Joshua seemed or not have heard her telepathic message. The disappointment was in the Akai girl's threat. Kiiro was, with some pun intended, hot. She could feel her own face heating up. She cleared her throat and bowed. "Aria Asyr. Pleasure to meet you all."

"Huh? Yeah...I can hear you—" Joshua stopped his sentence short, having turned around to see Aria gone. He hadn't realized that what she said was telepathic, and assumed that she had just spoke it a moment ago. In the slight distance, Joshua could see Aria and a few others, near the two people whom had started the fire. (I guess Aria's over there now...I need to try to stop the fire, though....) Joshua thought, with a slifht look of worry across his face. He knew how to combat a grimmlen now, at least. (Well...bye....) Joshua thought, looking at Aria for a second before going ahead to the fire. (I liked Aria, too...she was nice....)

A look passed between the short boy and the huge man when Aria gave her name. The boy gave he a strange look. "Asyr, huh? You got an older brother?" Suddenly, a figure alighted behind the boy and tapped him on the shoulder. The boy leaped probably twenty feet into the air, weapons ready, but when he saw who it was, he glided down and gave the person a hug. "Ferro! I haven't seen you since, well, since we graduated! How's it going, leader?" "Fine, thanks. I've been keeping an eye on that one." he said, pointing to Aria. The huge man set the twins on the ground, strode over to Ferro, and gave him a bear hug that lifted him off the ground. "Good to see you."

"You guys know Aaron?" Aria asked excitedly, ignoring the reappearance of the jerkface Ferro.

"Do you know where he is?" She asked. "How do you know him?"

"We used to be on the same team at Beacon. Team FABB." Ferro replied. "There was me, Aaron, Dane, and Mike." "How do?" Mike said as his name was mentioned. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance." Dane rumbled.

(Four of them...and I guess five if Ferro counts...five of them— and none are even trying to extinguish this? Aria was going to help, but I'm not sure anymore....) Joshua thought with a bit of irritation. Regardless, he headed to the flames as quickly as possible. The flames were spreading, and it didn't take very long to get to a start. Nervous of any possible nearby Grimm creature, Joshua began to extinguish the nearby flame, culling the Dust of the fire himself while also using dirt and water to douse it. Occasionally, he would pull the air out of the flames. Just as he grew more confident in his progress with the fire, a loud, screeching caw echoed through the forest....

Dane and Mike tensed as they heard a screeching sound echo through the air. "Nevermore." said Dane. Mike looked at his brother. "Cannon shot, go!" Dane extended his right arm until it was pointing at the Nevermore, which had flown into view overhead. Then Mike leaped up and exactly aligned his body with Dane's weapon. Dane fired his rockets as Mike released a sonic burst, sending the Bullet streaking toward the Nevermore. Mike kept himself on course, then at the last second held his arms by his side and released another burst. His head got a yellow glowing outline around it, and he smashed straight through the Nevermore's body. As it was falling, he made another burst that sent it falling onto the fire, extinguishing a large part of it. He alighted next to Joshua. "Always glad to kill two birds with one stone, pun intended." he said with a grin. "I appreciate your helping to put out the fire."

"Th-thanks...." Joshua mumbled quietly to Mike. He didn't seem to be someone like Ferro, so Joshua grew no dislike for Mike but found his entrance a bit awkward. The Nevermore screeched again, likely to call more Grimm. "The other side of this fire's growing still...it'll be pointless to extinguish it only from here...." He murmured again, enhancing himself with auras of water and wind, and in a few seconds, bursting himself ahead directly through the rage of the flames. A single line of the forest was clear, and Joshua stood on the other side of the fire from Mike. Joshua did the same to the flames as before, but this time completely shooting the flames straight to the wings of the Nevermore.

"Yo, Boulder, get over here!" Mike yelled playfully. Dane grunted, then crouched down. Metal plates shifted, and Dane launched himself along the ground toward the fire. His rolling made the ground tremble, and when he was right in front of the fire, he launched himself into the air, uncurling so that all his weapons were pointed down. An orange glow surrounded him, and suddenly he was falling very quickly. With ground-shaking force, Dane slammed on top of the fire. The flames were instantly extinguished by the gale-force air blasted from the point of impact. Dane stood up, retracted his right weapon, and dusted himself off. He gave a "Hmmhp!" of satisfaction. "Fire's out."

Joshua looked directly at the Nevermore as the flames instantaneously died by the acts of Dane. The trees caught within, however, were, as inevitable, charred and dead. Joshua burst himself with wind and water again, but upwards, striking the Nevermore and Joshua landing on it's back. The wings and quills of the Nevermore were doused with the water and rendered less effective for flight. (Ferro's wrong about me...Ferro's wrong about me....) Joshua repeated in his head. Ferro's ignored but rekekbered words now echoed in his mind as he blasted the Nevermore from right atop him. That is one who will never become a huntsman.

Ferro had watched the proceedings from where he stood, but after the fire was put out, he sprang into action. Pushing off the ground, he flew into the air, drawing out his bow at the same time. A single swift shot hit the Nevermore in the eye. It shuddered and was dead, it's body beginning the dissolving process all dead Grimm go through. He landed next to Mike and Dane and gave them fist bumps. "Good to be fighting with you two again. I must say, that was impressive. I can tell you have been practicing." "Ah, Ferro, ever the critic!" Mike said with a laugh. "Too bad Aaron isn't here." said Dane with a slightly crestfallen face. "I'm sure he's doing something better than putting out fires." Mike said, to lift Dane's spirits.

Joshua came off the Nevermore before Ferro got to it, bursting onto the ground ad Ferro gave the last strike to the Nevermore. He landed right as more Grimm came by the Nevermore's call— a pack of Ursa's and Beowolves. (Ferro is pretty strong, but...he still doesn't need to bring me or Aria down like be did...he's arrogant....)

Joshua gave a quick burst of fire to give him momentum as he struck an Ursa and channeled a neon-blue essence of Dust. He shot the Ursa to the ground with wind and fire, then firing the channeled Dust as a stream of lightning, from beneath the Ursa to the sky. He then brought the lightning back down and chained it across the pack, injuring the Ursa's and killing off most Beowolves.

"Boulder and Bullet, go!" Mike yelled. He blasted himself forward, got behind an Ursa, then released another blast, propelling him to another Ursa, to which he did the same thing. The blasts sent the Ursas spiraling backwards, straight toward Dane. As each one came, Dane raised his massive weapons and performed smashing uppercuts to each and every Ursa. Before they reached the ground, each Ursa had an arrow through one of its eyes. Only three remained.

Joshua brought a shockwave of his lightning below the ground, soon portruding as electrical pillars near the remaining creatures of Grimm. He then blasted himself to an Ursa, again with the momentum of a fire blast, landing on it's back and freezing the water, blood, and other fluids within the body of the Ursa. Spines of the liquids shot through it's body, killing it. As his pinnacles of electricity discharged, Joshua used what was left to shock both Ursa's until they began to dissolve in death.

"Wooo!" Mike cheered. "Bravo! Good fight!" Dane gave another satisfied grunt. Ferro observed Joshua from behind his mask, then turned to Aria and the pyro-twins. "That is how you give Ursas a smackdown."

"We could have done that! Right Kiiro?!" Akai snapped.

"Ursas are hard Grimm to fight. We would need help to fight them." Kiiro said seriously.

"But...." Akai started.

"I am serious Akai." Kiiro snapped.

"I know full well how to fight for myself!" Aria snapped.

She activated Angel's Ascent. "Just leave the next one to me."

Tired and unsure of what to do or say— perhaps even leave— Joshua just sat down on the ground beside Aria, the only person here he knew to a relative extent. Mike and Dane seemed okay, too. But Ferro was completely disliked, and Joshua still never knew why the two started the fire from right above him. Instead of asking the questions he wanted to, he sat quietly.

Mike retracted his blasters and clapped his hands together. "All in a day's work, hey? Let's head to town. I know a great place where we can get some fried scrambled eggs. Mmm mm!" He started walking through the trees. Dane and Ferro started to follow him, but Dane turned and looked back. "Want to come with?" he asked the younger people.

Aria considered Dane's offer. She kind of liked the two brothers; though she still couldn't stand Ferro. But then again, they all went to school with her brother. Maybe they knew where he was. "Sure, I'll come." She trotted over toward the men. She turned toward the cute boy and her scary sister. "Do you two wanna come?" You're coming too, right Joshua? She asked telepathically.

(Delicious. . .)

(I hate eggs.)

 

Akai nodded, grabbing Kiiro's arm, she pulled him by her side and then started to walk beside Aria, Kiiro's beside his sister. If anyone tried to do anything to the twins, Kiiro and Akai would gladly incinerate them.
