After having helped out at the hotel Richissime and visiting a couple stores, Yui had finally returned home. She kicked off her shoes, and sat down at her desk. She could finally spend her birthday relaxing... It wasn't all that fun having to spend a day as important as her eighteenth birthday working all day, after all. She booted up her computer, but was quickly interrupted by her mother. "Yui, there's someone here to see you!" Her mother told her. Yui stood up and turned to face her mother.

 

"Really? I knew no one would forget today!" She rushed to the door, but was greeted by a woman she'd never met before. "Uh..." She tried to think of something to say. What was this woman doing here?

 

"Oh, so you must be Yui! I'm Serena." The woman introduced herself. "I'm here to give you a request..." She handed Yui a Pokeball and a Pokedex, "As well as a gift."

 

Yui looked at the Pokeball and Pokedex. "Wait, I get these?" She asked, and called out the Pokemon in the Pokeball. She was greeted by an energetic Totodile, which instantly ran around her in circles. Yui laughed, and picked the Pokemon up. "It already likes me! I think I'll name him... Tide!" She held the Pokemon out, and smiled at him.

 

"Uh... There's business involved, too." Serena reminded Yui. "You see... Professor Sycamore has requested that you join four other trainers in a quest to set off around Kalos with the Pokedex. He doesn't care exactly what it is you do during the journey, so long as you complete your Pokedex. He suggested the Pokemon Gym challenge, for example..."

 

"A journey around Kalos...? Sure, especially if I get to go with this little guy!" Yui agreed, grinning widely. She'd never had a birthday gift like this before. She looked to her mother for approval, who nodded.

 

"I was already asked about this. The Professor asked me to keep it a surprise for your birthday." She told her daughter, smiling.

 

"Great! In that case, I'd like you to step outside with me..." Serena led Yui outside, and sent out a Talonflame. Yui stared at it in amazement and Serena climbed aboard it. "Are you coming?" Serena held out her hand for Yui. Yui nodded, and joined Serena atop the Pokemon. The two flew off in the distance on Talonflame.

 

Yui was shocked by how fast the Pokemon traveled. In what seemed like a few seconds, they had already landed in Aquacorde town. "We're here!" Serena told her. She led Yui to a group of picnic tables outside. "This is where Professor Sycamore asked the others to meet us in his letters... He also said that Shauna was sent to Vaniville to get the ones there, and Trevor is heading to find Ludicus..." She muttered to herself. Meanwhile, Yui waited for her new companions... She hoped they'd be somewhere around her age.

(So you're saying we were chosen because Blaxel told Sycamore to choose us? Okay then )

Ruby's mother hummed as she wrapped some sandwiches in a plastic bag,to which Delcatty purred. "No,these are for Empress and Ruby."Ruby's mother insisted as she rubbed the Delcatty's head,to which it whined. Soon enough Empress ran down the stairs and looked up,tilting its head as Ruby walked down,now wearing travel clothes and ready to go. "There you are Ruby."Ruby's mother said as she walked over to Ruby,handing her the sandwich before turning to Ruby's backpack,opening it and checking it around. "Did you packed everything? TM case,spare clothes,some berries,some potions..."She muttered. Ruby simply stared down at her mother's sandwich. When Ruby's mother finally finished,she turned back to her daughter. "I can't believe I'm seeing you go on your first journey!"Ruby's mother said as she cupped her daughter's cheeks. "You're so cute,I'm sure you'll do well."Ruby's mother said as she hugged Ruby,slightly tightening the hug as if regretting to had convinced Ruby to take a journey. However Ruby's mother caught her grip and let go after a few seconds,kissing Ruby's forehead. Ruby whined. "Mom,I'll be fine. Me and Empress got this."Ruby assured as she wiped off any saliva left on her forehead. Ruby's mother smiled. "I know. But before you go."Her mother said as she walked to the bookshelf,taking something from it and something hanging from the wall. She returned to Ruby,handing her the items. "Here,this is a map of Kalos,you will need it in order to know where you're going,and this-"Ruby's mother said before looking down at the old fishing pole. "I used this fishing pole to fish for pokemon to use in contests,your father then used it to fish for pokemon to take pictures! You might want it,or need it in the future. You will have to capture your own food too ya know."Ruby's mother said as she waved the fishing pole infront of Ruby's face. Ruby quickly took it and stuffed it in her backpack,even though its a mystery how the heck it fit. She did the same with the map. "Thanks mom,will use it wisely..."Ruby said as she looked down at Empress and nodded slightly. "Well,I better get going,a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step and I need to take that step like now. Come on Empress!"Ruby said as she gave her mom a wave and then ran to the door,to which Empress followed. Ruby's mother blinked a few times before snapping out of it. "Be careful out there,Ruby! There are dangerous pokemon hiding in every corner!"Ruby's mother said. Ruby picked up her converse from the shoe box and strapped them on. She pressed on the circles on the side of the shoes,to which rollerskate wheels popped out. Ruby picked up Vulpix and opened the door,skating out of the house and down the street,straight to the plaza,heading to the bridge. Ruby's mother stood by the door,yelling out. "CALL ME AS SOON AS YOU GET TO THE NEAREST POKEMON CENTER!!!"She called,only to sigh and stare out worringly. "Be careful."

Yui heard some shouting further into the city, and noticed a girl skating off with a Vulpix. "Looks like you're not the only one starting your journey today..." Serena commented, smiling as she watched the girl skate off. Yui nodded, wondering if her mother had been that worried about her going off on her own...

 

I'm an adult now, and mom knows that. She should know that I'll do fine on my own. Yui reassured herself, and continued waiting for the group from Vaniville to arrive.

Naruto's alarm clock started buzzing really loudly, and he sat up. He rubbed his eyes and looked at the clock's time. It was 2 PM. "HOLY CRAP!! I SET UP THE WRONG TIME! I GOTTA GO!" He ran to his closet and rustled through his clothes and grabbed a red and white jacket, blue pants and his cap with a pokeball logo, put on his backpack and ran down the stairs as fast as he could.

 

Naruto saw his mom in the kitchen and shouted a quick explanation to her. "HIMOMIGOTTAGOIMGONNAGETMYPOKEMONANDIMLATEBYE!!!" He rushed out the door and ran to Sycamore's lab. I can't believe how late i am, i bet everyone's gonna be so annoyed at me when i get there.

 

He saw the other chosen trainers in front of Sho's house and was going too fast so he crashed into Shauna.

 

"Ow, that hurt." He then noticed Shauna on the floor. "Oh my god, are you OK?!?!" He extended his hand to her.

"Ow, that hurt." He then noticed Shauna on the floor. "Oh my god, are you OK?!?!" He extended his hand to her.

As more people appeared, Derik's excitement and nervousness only grew further. He jotted down on the board "Now that the final person is here, can we get our Pokemon now?" He was anxious and wanted to start working hard.

Shauna took Naruto's hand and pulled herself up. "Thanks..." She thanked him and brushed the dirt off of her. "I'm fine, don't worry about it!" She smiled. "So, I take it that you're the last one? By some instinct, Derik picked up the ball with Shinx in it. Just holding the ball felt right. He nodded at this decision and moved out of the way, to allow the others to choose, he then called on his new Pokemon, it yawned and streached itself out, and Derik waved to it, giving it a little headrub, he felt an electric jolt shoot through him, just a little. Derik thought "Electric type, cool! I wonder what it knows..."

Joe walked through the city with Eevee on his shoulder noticing trainers walking by with pokemon he had never seen before Joe gave a grin of excitement to the sight of so many different pokemon as did Eevee Joe looked to Eevee and smirked as the two arrived in front of the city pokemon's center "Your starting to get really excited aren't you" Eevee nodded and smiled as Joe reached towards the small pokemon to scratch him under his chin. As the pair was about to enter the pokemon center they were suddenly knocked back as the door in front of them was forced open quickly hitting both Joe and Eevee aside. Joe fell to the ground with a hard bang and as he recovered he saw a young boy running off in a frantic state Joe stared while rubbing his face "what the heck was that all about the last thing i remember is a loud bang and stars" Joe suddenly begans to scan the area "wait where's Eevee" Joe then looks in the direction to which the boy had just run off to as he did he noticed a small brown object moving fast in the same direction Joe sighed with an unimpressed face "Typical he's running after that guy I really can't take my eyes off Eevee for even a second" quickly getting back up on his feet Joe began to run after Eevee who was running after the rushing boy

"Yes uncle, I did."

 

"Good. Here's your first pokemon, just like promised." And with that Looker pulled out a pokeball. "My friend the professor is sending five other young people out on a journey, starting in Vanville town. Maybe you should meet up with them near the edge of town."

 

Robert opened his pokeball, unleashing a golett.He could barely contain his excitement. "Wow, thanks uncle..." He turned back to face his uncle but he was already gone, so he turned back to his new friend golett. "Well, I guess we should go to meet those other new trainers then." And with that the two of them went off to the southern entrance to Aquacorde Town.

Robert sat at a table outside one of Aquacorde's cafes. He was patiently waiting for his uncle when an old man with a cane walked up.

 

"Good day Robert, how are you doing today?" the old man asked.

 

"I'm doing well, thanks for ask... wait, how do you know my name?" Robert asked, a little confused.

 

"Why, why wouldn't I know the name of my only nephew?" the man asked, a smug look on his face.

Arch instinctively reached out for a Pokeball, and sent out his new starter Pokemon; a Ralts. "Heh...aren't you a cute little fella..." Then Arch reach down and started petting the Ralts, which seemed to enjoy the petting. He then picked up the Ralts and said, "I think I'll name you...Kairu...yeah, that's a good name!"

 

(And all of that sounded somewhat disturbing...uh...)

Joe ran at high speed after Eevee until he found himself outside of the city he had been in only a while ago "Dammit Eevee how far do you plan on chasing this kid" just then Joe heard someone yelling out "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Joe stopped in his tracks as he heard the voice calling out and sighed "Eevee..." Joe continued on running once again until he saw Eevee in the distance and behind Eevee laid a boy flat on the ground with his eyes spinning "Eevee really did you have to hit him with shadow ball "eev" "Uh... what am i going to do with you" as Joe sighed he walked towards the boy on the ground and began kicking him slightly to try and wake him as Joe lightly kicked the boy suddenly jumped up "Who, what, where, when?" Joe and Eevee stared at the boy in complete confusion until the boy suddenly began pointing at eevee "You demon eevee for what you did I'm going to catch you and once i do your going to regret attacking your new trainer" Eevee looked at the boy and yawned as Joe then tapped him on the shoulder slowly the boy turned to face Joe "huh where did you come out of sorry no time to talk i must catch this eevee before he gets the chance to escape" "try and catch him all you want but it wont happen considering that little guy already has a trainer" the boy looked to Joe for a moment until he suddenly yelled out "WWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!" as the boy yelled out Eevee moved up beside Joe as he jumped up onto his shoulder "Sorry man but this little fella is my Eevee I've had him since the time he was still an egg" "Wait wait wait wait so your saying your the trainer of this aggressive little demon" a dreading look filled Joes face "Do you really have to call him a demon?" "well then in that case i challenge you to a battle am uh... actually whats your name" "Joe" "owe right well then Joe i the great pokemon master Nelson challenge you to a one on one pokemon battle" "Uh ya sure what ever i guess i guess me and eevee need to stretch our legs after our flight what ya think eevee you up for this" "EEVEE!!" the small pokemon cried out ready to battle as he jumped from Joe's shoulder and down in front of him ready to battle nelson any time "Alright Nelson you have a battle show me what you got" "You want it you got it" Nelson moved back from Joe and eevee giving enough space for a medium sized battle field nelson took out a single pokeball then throwing it high into the air Nelson called out "Come on out Chespin!" as Nelsons pokemon arrived onto the battle field Joe stared for a moment but then smirked "Ha a pokemon we never went up agains eevee this is going to be fun" 

Naruto looked at the pokeballs and immediately chose Charmander. "I like the element of Fire alot, so i feel like Charmander would be my best pokemon to choose! Im gonna name you FIRAGA!" Naruto then jumped into the air with his fist raised high. "I CANT BELIEVE I FINALLY AM STARTING MY JOURNEY TODAY!" Naruto then took his pokedex aswell. "Ok then, so are we waiting for someone or can we head to the lab?"

Naruto noticed Derik scribbling "Believe it?" On the wall. "Hey uh, whats that for? If i didnt know any better, i'd think you were making a reference to something." Naruto laughed a bit.

Ruby felt as Empress wrapped its tails around her neck and held onto her shoulder to not fall. According to what her mother had told her,Empress was the smallest out of the pack of Vulpix that the professor had,not fully reaching the usual 2 feet tall alignment. But Ruby didn't cared about that at all,infect she loved it,considering Empress was adorable! Yes maybe there would be a disadvantage or two when it came to Pokemon battle but who cared,they would be alright and everything would be fun and fine-"WHA!"Ruby shrieked as the skates tripped on a bump on the bridge,having Ruby fall face first against the brick flooring. Yup,there was the clumsyness. Empress fell down as well,rolling on her back before jumping onto her feet. "Ow..."Ruby muttered as she groaned. Empress quickly hurried over to her trainer,who looked up and rubbed her nose. "Ow ow ow!"She whined as she could feel the small trickle of blood falling down her nostrils. Empress seemed to freak out as she started to squeak and lick the blood off Ruby's nose. "Oi oi Empress! Calm down! Just reopened the wound ya know,still sensitive from when I got the door slammed on my face last week."Ruby said with a calm expression as she wiped off the blood and saliva,quickly pulling out a bandage from her pocket. "Never leave home without them ya know."Ruby said with a smirk as she unwrapped it and got it over her nose. "There we go,just need to be more careful from now on."Ruby said with a slight smile as she pressed the buttons on her shoes,the shoes retrieving the skating wheels before sitting up,picking Vulpix in her arms. "How about we just take it easy and walk? Besides,I don't think the outdoors and dirt is really a place for skates."Ruby said as Vulpix squealed and jumped inside of Ruby's hoodie,sticking her head out to look around. Ruby smiled as she got her hands in her pockets. "Comfortable?"Ruby smiled real big as she glanced over to the side,seeing a bunch of young trainers with their pokemon,all in one big group. The mixed emotions within the group,their smiling faces and excited cheers and laughter. Ruby bit her bottom lip before turning away from the city. "...I hate humans..."She muttered to herself as she walked across the bridge.

Yui looked over at the boy who had just walked over to her. "Heh... Yeah, I'm one of them!" She showed the boy her Pokedex. "I'm Yui. Who are you?" She asked.

Shauna took Naruto's hand and pulled herself up. "Thanks..." She thanked him and brushed the dirt off of her. "I'm fine, don't worry about it!" She smiled. "So, I take it that you're the last one? Perfect!"

 

"Yeah! I have four Pokemon with me right now, and a Pokedex for each of you..." She handed a Pokedex to each one of the new trainers, and offered the Pokemon. "Go ahead, choose one! I have a Shinx, a Ralts,  Charmander, and a Bulbasaur." She informed the three. "Choose whichever one you'd like!"

(Xiro still has to choose his starter. )

"So, that leaves me." He took the last Pokeball. He opened it, and out popped a Bulbasaur. Sho patted its head, which it seemed to like. "Heh, you're a cute little guy."

He then said to Shauna, "Unless we have any other business here, I think we should head out."

 

(Since I suck at coming up with names, especially for Pokemon, would anyone mind giving me an idea or two for what to name Bulbasaur? )
