I found a shiny in X by pure luck.  It just appeared out of nowhere so I caught it.

I got 2 of them around the same time too. They both were Hippopotas. 

I named one Hippo Hop and I named the other Hippy Poppins (aka Mary Poppins).

 

I'll try this one day.

I wish I still had the shiny enthusiasm. RNG abuse killed it for me, but there's still some left as I've had fond memories of working my ass off for shiny flawless Feebas at Mt. Cornet, for example.

 

I'm saying this because I can't bother caring for shinies in XY atm when I'm aiming for perfection.

It's sad that you we need to wait till December to get Pokemon Bank, Y U DO DIS TO US, NINTENDO.......

It's only hopeless if you don't actually know how to chain. 

 

I can get a chain of 40 almost EVERY time in X and Y no matter what. It's easy as hell.
