If there's a topic about this all ready...I'm sorry. I NEED to rant about this. All right, so if you live in the USA, you know Thanksgiving is just around the corner. And  if you know that, you also know that means black friday is coming up too...yay T_T (for you guys who don't know, black friday is just s the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, often regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season (taken right off of wikipedia)...basically it's a day when you can get REALLY good deals on stuff). Anyway, this holiday has never really bothered me.  Until this year, when I saw a several commercials stating that they were starting black friday "early" by opening at 5pm ON THANKSGIVING. WTF? So let's just forget that this is a major holiday in the states...let's just start the deals as quickly as possible right? I am so annoyed about this. Just keep Black Friday ON FRIDAY. Open your doors at midnight, 4 am, whatever, but dear lord, don't open on thanksgiving! It makes me think that in the future, thanksgiving will become an optional holiday and people won't bother to celebrate it just so they can get in on these awesome deals before time runs out! >_< Argh! I find this so irritating.

Probably lol I feel bad for the people who have to work on thanksgiving..

I would like you to keep in mind that this year, Christmas Shopping Season has already started due to a late Thanksgiving. 

It is currently hurting retails as there earnings for Christmas Shopping Season has already begun recording. Many consumers are skeptical and thus not buying anything really this week as they're looking at Black Friday. 

 

Though, I'm disappointed too at the fact that retails and fast food chains are starting to open on Thanksgiving.

I think Jack in the Box is planning on opening. Chipotle is observing Thanksgiving and closing almost all US chained stores. Costco is also closed on Thanksgiving. 

Some stores and retails I know are opening at like 9PM Thanksgiving day to start the Black Friday shopping. It's disappointing. 

 

Though one thing is analysis think opening on Thanksgiving is no different than opening at all sales wise. Retails are forced to get workers to work on the Holiday. Plus who's going to buy on Thanksgiving when you spend time with family and friends? Let's see how it plays out this year. Hopefully retails won't opening next year on Thanksgiving and realize it's not worth it. But we'll see. It can also cause retails next year to all open Thanksgiving

I tell ya, no respect for what the Holidays are supposed to represent.

 

It's becoming less about the people around you, and more about the things around you. This pretty much already happened in the media with Christmas and Halloween (although that was never really a "family" holiday to begin with), so I'm not very surprised that the marketability giant is consuming yet another one.

 

But come on. Even THIS is a bit unnecessary.
