I would like to show my video (or should I say theory) about the connections of Xigbar and the past.

One of the things we would start off on Ven appearing in 358/2 days. Xion was appearing for Xigbar: Ven. Why? We might think that Xigbar knows about the heroes of the past.

 

He stated clearly twice in 2 cutscenes:

 

1) Conversation between Xigbar and Zexion (Kh2FM)...

2) One quote that he says to Sora(KH2): "You don't look like you're half the hero the others were.

 

Also, he says that Xemnas (during the conversation between Xigbar and Zexion) was talking to someone in the "Room of Sleep". He coudn't tell who was it or what they where talking... but there is another cutscene where Xemnas goes to Ansem the Wise's comptuer, enters the Room of Sleep and sits down and watches at Aqua's armor.

 

Now, how would Xigbar know all this? Can he really be Master Xehanort's apprentice?

Ofcourse, you guys might think that Xigbar doesn't have a keyblade... but remember in the special trailer from bbs?

What did Master Xehanort say to Terra? "Those who submit to darkness.... are not qualified to weild a keyblade"

 

There is more yet to discuss...

Xigbar has the same gestures and stuff + he really knows the events of BBS.

 

Braig is no2 in OrgXIII, but we have only seen Xehanort's heartless, so...

Heartless didn't appear till at least a year AFTER bbs. It was all Unbirths.

Braig most likely saw TAV at some point in time, 'specially since

he saw Xion as Ventus at one point in Days

, that just pretty much proved that he has some sort of connection to Ventus at least, if not Terra or Aqua.

 

Only thing i disagree with here is him being the apprentice of Master Xehanort.

He was apprenticed to Ansem, and did not submit to darkness until they created Heartless, therefore would have been using a keyblade until that point, except that the keybladers were all gone before heartless were created.

Plus, Xigbar's weapon would have at least resembled a sword if he had used a keyblade. If he had a keyblade they just pulled guns out of their arses.

 

Other than that, you gave all the info on why he probably knew TAV... i hope he pops up in BBS. O:|

Sounds like a good theory, but I don't think Briag was MX's apprentice. I do think Briag will appear in BBS.

 

I don't think they'll just show that Xigbar knows Ven in Days, and just leave us hanging there. There's gotta be some point to it

1. Lying/Tricking

He was lying and/or trying to trick Terra to think that he was a good guy.

 

Or ...

2. Idiotic old man loses control of what he's done and hero doesn't give a sht considering he had done whatever it was in the first place and beats the crap out of him.

Or along those lines.

Well, I guess I could rely on the 1st option as you well explained about Master Xehanort lying/tricking Terra. But what connection does Xigbar has and those memories that he knows from the past.

 

There should be some scene or dialoge that maybe Xigbar or Braig was part of BBS. That's why I could only relied on Master Xehanort saying those words (maybe false words) to Terra.

That post was made half a year before Birth By Sleep was out, at that time everyone was under the assumption that they didn't exist at that time. There really was nothing to prove that they did before Birth By Sleep was released.

Although the release of new information may have already cleared this question up, Xigbar wasn't an Apprentice to The then Master Xehanort. Xigbar, Briag at the time, was merely working side by side with Master Xehanort to make Terra fall to the darkness for Master Xehanort's benefit. Xigbar knew Terra, Ven and Aqua from his time as his Somebody Briag, and that's why when Xigbar faced off with Xion he saw her as Ventus, because he was in his memories relating to the Keyblade. As for the other things Xigbar knows, it's merely due to his involvement with the then Master Xehanort. Also, if you look closely you can see that the armor and Keyblade that lay in the Room of Sleep belong to Aqua, hence Xemnas reffering to it as a "friend". The other friend he speaks of is Ventus for reasons I won't divulge due to the fact it would spoil the story for others. Hope that cleared some stuff up. And yes there are Heartless in Birth By Sleep, they simply aren't the main enemy or focus of the game. In the cutscene that explains Ven's past you can see Neoshadows summoned by Master Xehanort.
