Camp Freak [An original RP]

Posted

This RP is for OCs (original characters). And it's not KH based, sorry. :<

It's my first attempt at starting something like this; and it's fairly daunting on a board so jam-packed with KH roleplays. I'm really hoping this doesn't get shot down instantly.

[ -- First off;

A few basic ground rules before I even start to get into what this is about.

Please, PLEASE try to keep your spelling and grammar in check. Paste it in Word or something if needbe, just make sure that people can actually read it without a headache. A typo every here and there is no problem- barely spelling a single word right is. Sorry, but it seriously bothers me. I've had years of English teachers slamming grammar and spelling rules into my head, and now any kind of icky writing just... grates. Although I'm a hypocrite and do tend to start sentences with "And". It's not much of a grammar rule, anyway- basic stuff like forgetting full stops and paragraphing is what is just irritating.

One liners are to be used sparingly here, too. Short replies to long posts are kind of heartless. Even if all you can do is "Soandso jumped in the elevator along with Beezlebub", at least try and stretch it all beyond just one line. Like, if you're stuck with a one-liner response... how are they feeeeeeeeeling? What are they thinking?

Also, no serious God-modding or killing other characters unless you ask permission and they THEN ACTUALLY SAY YES. I've been in roleplays before where someone has asked another person of they can kill their character, has had a no in response, and then killed them off anyway. Gah.

[ -- The Concept;

There are monsters in the streets, the stores, everywhere. But they're not rampaging around, killing and causing havoc. In fact, they are relatively accepted. Evolution and mutation has caused the human race to have to grudgingly make way for their new equals. A lot of hatred still exists for the non-humans, and more for the half breeds. So much that scientists studying them have noticed how hard it is for those of us not entirely human, growing up and living around such prejudice. So a small group of them set up a camp, so to say, a sanctuary for the younger generations. And so, they brought in the kids that had been victimised or targeted, asking parents of such creatures to send their kids in, so they could have somewhere to live where they WEREN'T just freaks. Where they could be themselves. Not a lot of them were willing to stay, however... Once you're sent there, you need your parent's consent to leave until you're twenty. And not everyone feels like holding hands and staying in with the den of monsters.

[ -- Character Sheets;

Name: (Uhm, can really be anything.)

Age: (Bearing in mind the RP is set inside the camp and most people there leave at 20.)

What Are You?: (Half-breed, were, etc, etc... Any kind of creature.)

Appearence: (Picture and/or description)

Past: (Anything significant.)

The rest? I think it's better you work on and show during the RP. If you wanna participate, just fill out the sheet.

ryo started to walk again then, after awhile he saw Adrienne then he walked over to her

Zack had always had to play audience to his twin's complaining, when they were kids. He'd gotten re-accustomed to it recently; two months in the close company of an effectively caged in Zane were more than long enough for Zack to be able to shut out the sound of his twin's voice. When he did so, it kind of reduced the angry ranting to a droning... which was surprisingly soothing...

While Zack was dozing off against the tree, Zane tried to walk off, grumbling under his breath as many insults for the camp he could think of. He wandered around aimlessly, considering maybe finding a way to sneak out while the camp directors were busy starting off the day. But then he'd have to leave Zack behind- the older twin could always rationalise and talk Zane out of things. That and Zack was stronger than he was, and would most likely have dragged him back to their so-called sleeping quarters for a cool-down. It WAS ironic- not that Zane found it funny- that the more powerful brother was also the more laid back one; Zack didn't like hurting people, which Zane found pointless.

While he was walking, staring blankly across the camp, he crashed into someone sitting on the floor. Zane swore loudly, losing his balance and falling to his knees with a yell. He glared up at White Rabbit, pushing the dark tendrils of his hair out of his eyes.

"What the hell are you doing in my way?!"

The wolf-boy hopped down from the tree, landing lightly on the ground. He examined the twin's sleeping face for a moment. Had he had a marker pen, he would have at the very least given the guy a funny moustache and glasses. But he didn't. Pouting slightly at losing out on a chance at having some fun, he left the boy sleeping there, walking off with such a bounce in his step he was nearly skipping.

Sebby decided to find somebody to talk to- after all, he'd been there nearly a week and had barely spoken to anybody.

Ron slid softly into the camp, hoping he wouldn't be noticed. This place wasn't as fun as he thought it would be, and now he was stuck here. After finally finding a nice, shady spot, he lay down and curled up tightly, wrapping his tail around himself.

After a few moments Adrienne decided to get up and walk around some more. Might as well look for someone to talk to. She was going to make the best of this experience, so she might as well start trying now.

Sebastian bounded up to Adrienne, grinning cheerily up at her-the picture of childish innocence. He might have been in his teens, but he looked, what, eight? So he didn't see why he couldn't act like a kid.

"You're part fox, aren't'cha?!" he said exitedly, by way of greeting.

Adrienne looked at the boy and smiled when she saw he was part wolf.

"Yes," she answered cheerfully. "And you're part wolf, am I right?"

 • Author

"Uh-huh!" Sebby looked around for a moment. "There's a werewolf guy, but he looks kinda scary so I didn't wanna talk to him that much... You're not scary, though!"

He realised he was babbling, and decided to try and stop it. It could be a bit much sometimes.

"My name's Sebby, by the way- what's yours?"

Out of the corner of his eye, he clocked Roy, curled up in the shade. Maybe Sebby could try and work out if he'd mind being bothered.

"Really? Have you seen maybe another fox? I haven't really met anyone nice, except for you that is. You're the first person to talk to me," Adrienne said. Everyone else she had tried to speak to had given her a cold look like they didn't want to be bothered.

"I'm Adrienne."

 • Author

"People can be really grumpy round here. Everyone's got a weak spot, though, I guess. Someone or somethin' they would open up for."

The little wolf boy tried to think back- of all the faces he'd glimpsed, hiding around and watching, never being part of anything... had any of them been foxes?

Crap. I can't remember. It's hard to get close enough to start with...

"I dunno," he said, glumly, then brightened up, smiling up at her. "But I hear they're gonna try and get some camp activities up for everyone. So we can look out for any other foxes then, right?"

"Well you don't seem grumpy," Adrienne laughed.

"Camp activities? That sounds like fun. Maybe there'll be nicer looking wolves too."

Adrienne was glad she had finally met someone nice. Everyone had been well, grumpy like Sebby said.

Ron opened his eyes and slowly sat up.

"Nyaaaa...how long have I been asleep?" He rubbed his eyes with his hands ((paws?)) and began to stand up.

 • Author

"I'm grumpy when I'm tired, or starving..." Sebby offered, still grinning. "But I'm kinda hungry all the time, so no worries, right? And the activities thing... There's s'posed to be some big hike tomorrow, like a field trip for us for a bit. There was a guy yelling about it before..."

He paled slightly, but didn't make a comment about other wolves. He wasn't going there, at least, not right that morning. Sebby hugged his arms over his stomach as it rumbled, pulling a face. "Argh, sorry," he mumbled, silently cursing his tummy's constant clamour for food.

His ears twitched, and he looked over at Roy, not saying anything but smiling happily at the other boy.

Adrienne noticed noticed that Sebby seemed a little,--distressed--, when she mentioned the other wolves.

Adrienne laugh. "I'm grumpy when ever I'm tired too. And I'm always hungry, btu I try not to complain cuz I get on people's nerves sometimes," she laughed again. "A hike? Ehh I'm not good at that sort of things..."

She saw Sebby look over at someone and saw another boy.

"Hello," she greeted, smiling as well.

"H-hi," Ron said, with a shy smile. "D-do you guys know where the cabins are? I'm new here and..." He trailed off.

 • Author

"Heh, no problem!" Sebby enthused, practically hopping from one foot to the other by that point- he was just happy that his constant trailing around and watching the camp was coming in use at last.

Never mind that everyone who had been there over a night knew where the cabins were.

"You're kind of at the wrong side of the camp, but no worries. If you keep going thataway" - he pointed over, near to where a small column of smoke was drifting up over the trees - "then you'll hit the canteen tent after a while. The cabins are a couple metres to the left of it- pretty hard to miss once you're in the right place."

The White Rabbit woke up. She found that she had fallen asleep when she was drawing her picture of circles. She sat up and yawned for a few seconds before standing up on her feet. After picking up her sketch book and crayons, she began to walk around the area.

 • Author

"HEY!" Zane bellowed, running after the White Rabbit, looking distinctly irritated. He caught up to her, and thrust his hand out, practically into her body. Resting on his palm, though slightly crushed, were two of her crayons.

"I slipped on one of them," he said grumpily.

Meanwhile, Zack snoozed, blissfully unaware that Zane had cleared off. His twin had fallen asleep first the night before- and his snoring had kept Zack awake the whole night...

ryo answered Adrienne

"This place is rather boring, if I don't find something to do soon who knows what will happen?" Marielle said to herself while she walked around trying to find something.

ryo went walking and found marielle again

"What do you think I could be doing in this boring place?" she said turning to him.

Ron smiled warmly at Sebastian. "Thanks. I just got here an hour or two ago, but no one bothered to show me around." He started walking off in the direction of the cabins, his arms swinging cheerfully.

ryo

Adrienne followed Ron.

"So what's your name?" she asked, hoping he was as nice as Sebby had been

((STALKER >A<))

"I-I'm Ron," he said, smiling at her. "What's yours?"
