- SIGHT -

A blue sky and waves, crashing on the beach

A sun that shines high, far beyond my reach

A small, boring world, with no way to be free

These are the things that I used to always see.

Then... I saw black

It beckoned my name

I answered the call

I did not feel shame

But I did feel anger

As the blackness inside

Grew stronger, and soon

Darkness could not hide.

I was a fool

To blindly go against the light

I felt guilty and shamed then

I almost lost my sight.

Then I opened my eyes once more

To see if I could open the door.

I moved beyond my past

To see if I could, at last

Right my wrongs... but then

I could not see beyond.

No light, nor dark

Those paths had been withdrawn

So then I decided

To take the road to dawn.

For a while then, I saw nothing.

Just more black, and nothing else.

I didn't feel like I deserved

to even look at myself.

No one else could see me either.

Just a stranger, a false face

But, soon this lie I called my sight

I began to replace.

In the end, I can see

Just perfectly now

My sight is clear and wide

So a lesson I endow

To my friends, and the others

Who feel that their vision will sink

Always follow your heart

It's closer than you think.

Great Poem..each day I'm starting to like Riku more and more.
