Hey guys, i want to write a rough draft story bible for an animated web series, and i'm wondering how many pages it should be. Im gonna divide the bible into ''chapters''

for example:

- Plot

- Character bios

- The Setting

- Overview (which i will probably write after all of the above)

I need advice on how long each section of the story bible should be

I'd say at least ten pages for plot. But this is based on how in-depth it would get. A basic plot summary could take around 3-5 pages, unless your series is longer. Character bios...that depends on how many characters there are. I would say at least a page or two per character. The setting would probably only take two pages, the same for the overview.

Take what I say with a grain of salt. This all depends on how much material you have to work with.

Long enough to give you what you need.  Different lengths work for different people.  I can't tell you what's an appropriate length for you, because it depends on how long and detailed you want to be with the work.  For instance, you can have ten pages of character bios that are shallow and bare bones because you have, like, twenty characters.  Or you can have ten characters each with a good page or two to themselves.  That's why you should go by content, not page length.

A story should be like a girl's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep the audience interested
