This is my favorite story that I've ever written and I decided to post it here for you all to seeeeeeeee. Please leave any feedback that you have, I really and truly appreciate any words of praise or criticism that I can get!

 

PROLOGUE

 

INT. LABORATORY-?

 

Inside this unlit laboratory sit many dusty and broken objects. The only object that appears to be operational is a lone computer sitting in the far corner of the room. The computer is currently being used by a mysterious cloaked man. The monitor shows what appears to be a series of purple lines all branching from a common point on the left-hand side of the screen. The man removes his right hand from the top of the mouse. He taps the desk a few times and then places his hand back on the mouse. After clicking the mouse a couple times all of the lines, except for one line, disappear from the screen. A few key points, along the line, become highlighted and titled, in this order: “The Fall of Man,” “Lucifer’s Banishment,” “Lucifer’s Defeat At RAGNAROK,” “Volkan’s Birth,” “The Creation of the Five Black Souls,” “The Creation of Haven Island,” “David Grim Learns That Demons Exist,” “Melody’s Mission,” “Melody’s Execution,” “The Black Mist Appears,” “The Prophecy Begins.” The cloaked man clicks once and the titles end over half way down the line at “The Prophecy Begins.” Each of the titles has a green check, underneath it, except for “The Prophecy Begins.” The man’s thick blonde beard, long blonde hair, and malignant smirk can be seen, beneath his hood.

 

EXT. BLACK CASTLE-EVENING

 

An eerie black castle sits on a large island surrounded by lava.

 

INT. ARTEMIS’S ROOM-EVENING

 

In this bedroom there are three children. One is a six year old boy in black shorts and a blue t-shirt. He has somewhat long dark-blonde hair. He is, also, wearing a black headband. His name is ARTEMIS. Another one of the children is a five year old girl with black wavy hair. She is wearing a black shirt and a long red skirt. Her name is ROSE. The last is a four year old made of a black mist. His eyes are white and contain no pupils. His name is NEYON. NEYON’s arms solidify and he pushes ARTEMIS into the side of the bed.

 

ARTEMIS

Come on, knock it off!

 

NEYON dissipates into a cloud of black mist. The mist launches itself behind ARTEMIS, lands on the bed and transforms back into NEYON. He kicks ARTEMIS in the back of the head, knocking him, face-forward, into the ground.

 

NEYON

Ha-ha-ha!

 

ROSE

Neyon, stop it!

 

NEYON

Stop what? We’re just having fun!

 

ARTEMIS

This isn’t my idea of fun!

 

NEYON glares at ARTEMIS. He extends his arm and pulls ARTEMIS’ headband off of his head and puts his arm high in the air so that he can’t reach it.

 

ARTEMIS (CONT.)

(Jumping up and down)

Hey! Stop! Give it back! Dad gave that to me!

 

ROSE

Give it back to him!

 

NEYON

Just use your dark powers! Fly up and get it!

 

ARTEMIS

I can’t! You know that!

 

ARTEMIS becomes quite upset and quickly tries to hide his tears.

 

NEYON

You’re such a pussy!

 

ROSE jumps up on to the bed. She jumps out to the nearby wall and rebounds upward, grabbing the headband and landing safely on the ground.

 

ARTEMIS

Thanks Rose.

 

(ARTEMIS wipes his eyes and puts the headband back on as NEYON retracts his arm.)

 

NEYON

What the hell, Rose?

 

ROSE

You’re such a jerk to him! He’s your brother!

 

NEYON

I doubt it. The devil’s children should have amazing power! He can’t even use dark energy yet and even if he could it’s not like he’d use it to fight anyone! (Neyon turns his head to look at Artemis.) I bet you were adopted.

 

ARTEMIS

(Screams)

Shut up!

 

ROSE

I can’t use my powers either, you know.

 

NEYON

Yeah, but you’re cool.

 

The door opens and two men walk in. One has long horns. He is wearing a gray t-shirt, black jeans and spiked boots. He has long slicked back black hair. He is the devil and his name is GIOVANNI. The other has long horns, slicked back gray hair, and a thin-gray beard. He also has a deep scar running over his left eye. He is wearing a brown t-shirt and camouflage jeans. He is also wearing boots. He is the devil’s brother and his name is SKAR.

 

SKAR

Hey, kids! What’s going on?

 

ROSE

Uncle Skar!

 

NEYON AND ARTEMIS

(Simultaneously)

Hey dad!

 

ARTEMIS wipes his eyes.

 

SKAR

You guys ready to meet him!

 

ROSE

(whines)

I wanted to finally have a sister.

 

NEYON

Yes! I’ve always wanted a brother!

 

ARTEMIS

You already have one.

 

NEYON

What’s that, sis?

 

ARTEMIS

(Screams)

Shut up!

 

GIOVANNI

(Bellows)

Enough! Follow me.

 

GIOVANNI turns and leaves.

 

SKAR

(Mutters)

What crawled up his ass?

 

ROSE giggles. The children follow SKAR out of the room.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

They all crowd around the crib. Sitting on the bed is a beautiful woman wearing a white dress. She has long, curly, black hair. She is smiling. Her name is Katherine and she is GIOVANNI’s wife.

 

ROSE

Awww, he’s so cute!

 

NEYON

Who cares if he’s cute? I can’t wait until he’s old enough to fight!

 

ARTEMIS

You already want him to fight? He’s just a baby!

 

NEYON

Hey, you both have something in common already!

 

ARTEMIS glares at NEYON.

 

GIOVANNI

We’ll see just how powerful he is when his eyes slit.

 

NEYON

Once a devil is born, their eyes slit and their power erupts uncontrollably. The more power that’s released, the more powerful the baby is. I can’t wait to see!

 

The baby’s eyes are closed. After a few seconds his eyes open and his pupils slit. The baby breaks out into a loud scream as tears pour down his cheeks. As this happens a ball of purple energy appears around the baby. The energy erupts outward from the baby. Everyone puts up their arms to shield their faces. Once the energy subsides, they all put their arms down. The baby’s eyes return to normal and he slowly stops crying.

 

GIOVANNI

(Wonders)

Such power! Could the Prophecy really be true?!

 

ROSE

 Wow!

 

ARTEMIS

What’s his name?

 

KATIE

We’ve decided on Kyren.

 

GIOVANNI

Alright… time for bed, kids.

 

NEYON, ROSE, AND ARTEMIS

(Simultaneously)

Awww, c’mon!

 

GIOVANNI

What did I just say?!

 

The three hurry out of the room. KATIE looks at GIOVANNI with a concerned look before following the kids out of the room. GIOVANNI glares at Kyren.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM-NIGHT

 

GIOVANNI is standing over Kyren. His hand glows with dark energy as he begins to raise his arm above his newborn son. The dark energy transforms into a knife that GIOVANNI grasps tightly. The light suddenly turns on and KATIE is seen standing by the archway leading into the room. She looks at GIOVANNI in horror.

 

INT. ARTEMIS’S ROOM

 

ARTEMIS is lying in bed with the lights out. He hears a knock at his door. He gets up and opens the door to find ROSE and NEYON.

 

NEYON

Hey, dad was acting weird earlier. We’re going to go spy on him. Come on!

 

ARTEMIS

…

 

NEYON

Unless you’re too scared?

 

ARTEMIS sighs and then walks past them. ROSE and NEYON turn and follow close behind. ROSE glares at NEYON and hurries after ARTEMIS.

 

ROSE

You don’t have to come with us, you know?

 

ARTEMIS

I know.

 

EXT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

The children walk up to the door and each presses their ears to the door.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

KATIE

Answer me! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!

 

GIOVANNI

I’m going to kill him.

 

KATIE

 What are you talking about? Why… why would you kill your own son!?

 

GIOVANNI

Don’t question me. What I say goes, you got that?

 

KATIE

 No! I don’t think I do get that! You actually believe the Oracle?!......You bastard! You’re that scared of your son that you’d kill him! Then what about Artemis! The prophecy said that he would kill you if Kyren failed! Are you going to kill him too?!

 

GIOVANNI

Of course, I should’ve killed him a long time ago, anyway.

 

EXT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

A horrified look appears on ARTEMIS’ face.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

GIOVANNI

Just like I killed his mother… she was a filthy angel and she got what she deserved.

 

EXT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

ARTEMIS loses his balance and stumbles backwards onto the ground, as a tear trickles down his cheek.

 

ROSE

Artemis!

 

(ARTEMIS scrambles to his feet and runs off. NEYON begins to laugh.)

 

NEYON

What a little pussy!

 

ROSE

What is wrong with you?

 

ROSE runs off after ARTEMIS.

 

NEYON

Whatever, I’m going back to bed.

 

NEYON turns around and walks down the hall. He eventually sees SKAR heading his way.

 

SKAR

Uh, what are you doing out of bed?

 

NEYON

None of your beeswax, old timer.

 

NEYON walks past SKAR, causing SKAR to encase his hand in dark energy, reach down, and grab NEYON’S shoulder.

 

SKAR

I don’t know what your problem is, short-stuff, but next time you can just shove it up your ass.

 

SKAR smiles and pats NEYON on the head. SKAR leaves NEYON and makes his way toward GIOVANNI’S room.

 

INT. CASTLE HALLWAY

 

ROSE runs for a bit while calling out ARTEMIS’ name. She eventually catches up to him. He stops and turns. His face is covered in tears.

 

ROSE

 Artemis! I’m sorry I didn’t tell you! I…

 

ARTEMIS

You knew my mom was an angel?! You knew and you didn’t tell me!

 

ROSE

I knew that it would upset you, so I thought it would be better if you didn’t know! But, it’s okay, because she was my mom, too!

 

ARTEMIS

So, that makes it okay?! How long have you known?!

 

ROSE

I-I heard Uncle Skar and dad talking about it, a few months ago… I guess…

 

Artemis

Months!? How could you not tell me!? Out of everyone in our family, you seemed like the only one who actually cared about me!

 

ROSE

Artemis, I didn’t mean…!

 

ARTEMIS

I don’t want to hear it!

 

ARTEMIS takes off running.

 

ROSE

Artemis!

 

ROSE runs after him. After a little while of running she stops and sees ARTEMIS’ black headband lying, torn, on the ground. She rushes past the headband, hoping not to lose him.

 

ROSE

Artemis, come back!!!!

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

KATIE

 I won’t let you kill him!

 

GIOVANNI

You don’t have a say in the matter!

 

SKAR knocks on the door. GIOVANNI walks through the archway and rounds the corner, quickly opening the door.

 

Giovanni

(Annoyed)

What do you want?!

 

SKAR

(Jokingly)

Oh I’m sorry did I interrupt something? Heh heh heh! Then again… do you guys really want another one? You already have four…

 

Suddenly, an explosion ROARS from the other side of the room. GIOVANNI turns and rushes into the room only to find a large hole in the side of their room. Kyren is now missing from the crib and KATIE is nowhere to be seen. GIOVANNI rushes over to the hole, followed by SKAR. They look out to see KATIE, with vampire wings now attached to her back, flying toward a large green portal at the end of a long bridge above a large pool of lava. She is holding Kyren, tightly. GIOVANNI leaps through the hole in the wall and flies after her.

 

GIOVANNI

(Bellows)

Stop!

 

He unleashes a flurry of dark energy bolts. But, KATIE barrel rolls and dodges each one. Below them, ROSE is chasing ARTEMIS along a narrow bridge protruding from the island supporting the Black Castle.

 

ROSE

(Crying)

Artemis, wait!

 

But, ARTEMIS ignores ROSE’S cries and rushes toward the end of the bridge. At the end of the bridge sits a large green portal. ARTEMIS runs into the portal, instantly disappearing. ROSE stops and stares at the portal for a moment. She turns around and sees KATIE flying toward her. KATIE dives into the large green portal glancing at ROSE, overcome with regret. KATIE rushes through the portal just before GIOVANNI catches her. GIOVANNI is unable to stop in time and once he reaches the portal an invisible wall causes him to bounce backwards. He falls to the ground and slowly gets up. ROSE hurries over and tries to help him up. GIOVANNI looks at Rose and swats her aside, knocking her to the ground.

 

Giovanni

(Furiously)

What the hell are you doing out of bed?!

 

ROSE

(Stuttering)

Artemis, he…

 

Suddenly, a group of demons rush up from the bridge to check on their leader.

 

DEMON #1

Are you okay, Lord Giovanni?! You know you can’t leave Hell, sir!

 

GIOVANNI

I know that, you dumbass! Get your asses through the Gate and find her!!!

 

GIOVANNI quickly rises to his feet.

 

DEMON #1

But, sir, who knows where the gate transported her and who knows where it’ll transport us! We could end up on opposite sides of Earth!

 

GIOVANNI

I don’t care! Just find her and Kyren,

(Bellows)

Immediately!

 

They quickly rush trough the portal, in fear of what might happen should they not follow their orders.

 

EXT. EASTMORE CITY-NIGHT

 

A small amount of purple lightning begins to spark in the air close to the grass on the cliff. After sparking three times, KATIE appears on the cliff, holding Kyren. She looks down at him, breathing heavily. Kyren starts crying.

 

KATIE

Don’t worry, shhh, I’ll keep you safe.

 

She kisses him on the forehead and then turns and walks away from the cliff.

CHAPTER 1:

 

INT. KYREN/DAMEON’S ROOM-MORNING

 

The alarm clock next to the bed says 6:14. The time changes to 6:15 setting off the alarm. A hand reaches out from underneath the covers and fumbles around on the desk trying to turn off the alarm. After a few attempts he finally makes contact with the top of the alarm. A 17 year old short-haired blonde male emerges from underneath the covers of his bed. He is quite thin, with a little bit of muscle tone. He sits up and picks up a glistening silver watch from his nightstand. He stares at it for a moment.

 

VOICE

Dameon! Are you up?

 

Dameon

(Yells)

Yeah, mom!

(mutters)

I’m up.

 

He sets the watch down and gets up.

 

INT. CHIEF’S VILLAGE-MORNING

 

The villagers seem to be starting their day, conversing, gardening, shopping, and going about their routine business. An Indian man steps out the front door of the largest cabin, sitting at the very back of the village. He has long dark hair, which is tied into a pony tail and face paint, outlining his eyes and markings on his cheeks. He is wearing a brown and orange robe. He breathes in a breath of fresh air and smiles at the sight of his people’s happiness. He suddenly hears an odd ringing from within his house and re-enters his house. He walks into the living room and picks up a black and purple device, quickly pressing a button and placing it to his ear.)

 

CHIEF

You’re calling pretty early.

 

SKAR

Yeah, I didn’t go to bed last night.

 

CHIEF

And why not?

 

SKAR

‘Cuz I’m an adult.

 

CHIEF rolls his eyes, but a smile manages to break through despite his annoyance.

 

SKAR

Anyway, it’s the kid’s first day of school and I’d appreciate it if…

 

CHIEF

If I went and kept an eye on things.

 

SKAR

Now I know you can’t read minds, so how in the hell did you…

 

CHIEF

Let’s try to keep things on topic, now why can’t you do this?

 

SKAR

Well, I could…

(Whines)

But you live closer. Come oooooooon, be a pal.

 

CHIEF

Alright, alright. I’ll keep an eye on things.

 

SKAR

Sweet. Now I figure that by now the watch probably doesn’t have more than a couple of days before Kyren’s powers begin to overwhelm it. It could happen today, it could happen tomorrow… more than likely tomorrow, but… just be vigilant.

 

CHIEF

Why don’t you just talk to Katie about this? Why all the secrecy?

 

SKAR

Because she won’t listen to me, she’ll just blow me off and try to move away as soon as possible. Rinse and repeat. We’ll just have to wait. Besides, he’ll be far stronger this way, making our job all the easier.

 

CHIEF

If you say so.

 

SKAR

I did say so. Would you say so?

 

CHIEF

Goodbye.

 

CHIEF hangs up and then sighs, before setting down the communications device and exiting his house, once more.

 

EXT. DAMEON’S BATHROOM

 

The door opens and DAMEON steps out into the hall. He has changed into dark colored jeans, and a black zip-up jacket. His hair is now spiked. He enters his room and puts the watch on, admiring it in the process. He turns around and sighs as he picks up his duffle bag.)

 

INT. KITCHEN

 

(He enters the kitchen where his mom is turned away from him, cooking. The woman turns, revealing that she is Katie.)

 

KATIE

Morning, sweetie!

 

DAMEON

Morning, mom.

 

KATIE

What’d you do to your hair?

 

DAMEON

I spiked it.

 

DAMEON sits down at the table.

 

KATIE

Why? What was wrong with it before?

 

DAMEON

Nothing, I just thought I’d try something new.

 

KATIE

Well, I thought it looked fine before. Not that it doesn’t look fine now, of course.

 

She hands him a plate with eggs, toast, bacon, and hash brown.

 

DAMEON

Thanks.

 

DAMEON takes a bite of his eggs.

 

KATIE

Are you excited?

 

DAMEON

About what?

 

KATIE

School, obviously!

 

DAMEON

What’s there to be excited about? It’s going to be exactly the same as the last 12 schools.

 

KATIE

You don’t know that! This one could be different.

 

DAMEON

Mom, its senior year. Most of the other people there already know each other. Everyone has their friends. There’s no room for me there.

 

KATIE

You’ll just have to make some new friends.

 

DAMEON

What’s different about this school from the other ones? I couldn’t make friends there and I doubt it’ll happen here. I haven’t had a single friend since the fifth grade.

 

KATIE 

Honey, that’s because you stopped trying!

 

DAMEON

What was the point? We moved every year!

 

KATIE

That’s not true! What about when you were seven?

 

DAMEON

Yeah, but we moved twice, when I was nine.

 

DAMEON takes a bite of his food.

 

KATIE

I’m sorry. I know my job forces us to move…and it’s not easy on you…

 

She hands him a glass of orange juice.

 

DAMEON

Mom, I know it’s not your fault. I know that you need this job. Trust me; I appreciate everything you’ve done for me. I just wish that certain parts of my life were different. Is that so wrong?

 

KATIE

No, of course not! There are certain things I’d like to change. But, I remember that had certain things in my life not happened… I might not have the things I’m thankful for today.

 

DAMEON ponders his mother’s words and then returns to eating.

 

KATIE

I understand that you’re angry…

 

DAMEON

(Angrily)

I’m not angry, mom.

(Calmly)

I’m just… I don’t even know…

 

KATIE

It’s okay to be angry, honey. It’s not good to just bottle your anger up inside.

 

DAMEON doesn’t reply. He instead continues to eat his breakfast.

 

INT. KATIE’S CAR

 

KATIE and DAMEON pull up to the school. DAMEON looks up at the school.

 

KATIE

Come on! It’s your first day of your senior year! Things will be fine. At least try to have a good day.

 

DAMEON

Thanks, mom, love you.

 

DAMEON opens the door and starts to get out.

 

KATIE

Are you wearing your watch?

 

DAMEON

Of course.

 

DAMEON pulls up his sleeve to reveal the watch. KATIE smiles as he shuts the door and leaves. She drives off. DAMEON walks up the steps and sighs as he sees all the other students laughing and hanging out with their friends. Meanwhile, CHIEF is standing across the street watching the school. He has changed from his traditional robes into a suit and tie, in an attempt to blend in.

 

INT. EASTMORE HIGH CLASSROOM-MORNING

 

DAMEON walks into his homeroom. People are yelling, laughing, listening to music and sitting on top of the desks. DAMEON walks in and sits down at an empty desk in the back. He slumps back in his seat and looks around, taking in his surroundings. The teacher walks in and everyone slowly sits down in their seats.)

 

MS. PEYTON

Hello, class my name is Ms. Peyton! Let’s try to make this a great semester!

 

DAMEON leans forward and looks down at his desk. Then he glances around at the other students as he rubs his left arm with his right hand.

 

MS. PEYTON
I’m going to call role now. Armstrong? Martin Armstrong?

 

MARTIN

Here.

 

MS. PEYTON

Bueller? Ferris Bueller?

 

INT. EASTMORE CAFETERIA

 

DAMEON walks through the cafeteria to a table with four other students.

 

DAMEON

E-erm…Mind if I sit down?

 

BOY

Why?

 

DAMEON

Never mind.

 

DAMEON subtly shakes his head and walks away. The GIRL sitting next to the BOY slaps his arm playfully, while some of the kids at the table either LAUGH or remain silent.)

 

GIRL

(Mutters)

Why do you have to be such a dick?

 

INT. EASTMORE HIGH GYM

 

DAMEON along with many other students are sitting in the gym. The gym teacher, Coach Reynolds, is standing before them, holding a clipboard.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

All right, my name’s Coach Reynolds. You must come to this class prepared with a set of clothes to change into. This includes a t-shirt, shorts, socks, and tennis shoes. If you don’t bring an acceptable change of clothes, you’ll get a zero for the day. Also, make sure you remove all jewelry, watches, piercings, etc. Any questions?

 

The coach glances at each of the students.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Alrighty then. Hit the locker rooms.

 

Everyone gets up and makes their way to the locker rooms.

 

INT. EASTMORE HIGH LOCKER ROOM

 

DAMEON gets finished changing and takes off his watch. He admires it for a moment. The guy standing next to him looks over and sees the watch.

 

BOY

That’s a pretty sweet watch.

 

Dameon

Thanks… it was a gift from my dad.

 

DAMEON puts the watch in his duffle bag and puts his duffle bag in his locker)

 

EXT. EASTMORE HIGH TRACK

 

The students all line up at the track.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Today, I’m going to have you run a mile. For those of you who don’t know that’s 4 laps. When I blow the whistle, that’s your queue to get your asses moving, got it?

 

COACH REYNOLDS blows the whistle and the students take off. The guy that was standing next to DAMEON in the locker room quickly takes the lead. DAMEON comes up from the back of the crowd and takes off past the guy who was standing next to him in the locker room. The guy looks surprised as he follows close behind Dameon. Dameon and the guy pass the Coach finishing their first lap. While a group is following close behind, the majority of the students are trailing far behind. The Coach looks at his watch to see that only 1 minute and 12 seconds has passed. Chief is tucked away on the school rooftop, barely visible to the students or the coach. The scene jumps to DAMEON’S final lap. DAMEON and the other guy have now put a great distance between them and the rest of the students. DAMEON passes the finish line just before the other student.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Hey, what’s your name kid?

 

DAMEON slows his breathing and uses his shirt to wipe the sweat off his face.

 

DAMEON

Dameon Black, sir.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

I’m the Cross Country and Track Coach here. You ever run for a school team before?

 

DAMEON

Nah… just on my own time.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

You ever thought about it? That guy you beat, Jake Bradley, he’s the fastest guy on the team. I think you’d make a great addition.

 

DAMEON

…Um, sorry sir, but… no thank you.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Why not, kid?

 

DAMEON

I’m not that good, sir.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Of course, you are, kid! I’m standing here telling you right to your face, you’re a good runner! 5 minutes is a hell of a time!

 

DAMEON

Thank you, sir, but I’d rather not.

 

COACH REYNOLDS sighs and shakes his head.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Well, if you change your mind, kid, let me know.

 

DAMEON

Sure thing.

 

COACH REYNOLDS walks off. JAKE looks at Dameon, overcome with jealousy.

 

INT. EASTMORE HIGH GYMNASIUM

 

The students are all playing basketball. JAKE slips away from a practice game and makes his way into the locker room. Along the way he high fives and is greeted by many of the other students. Just before exiting the gym he looks over at DAMEON, seeing that he is focused on playing a lone game of basketball. He opens his locker and pulls a pin out of his backpack. He puts the pin in the lock of DAMEON’S locker, in an attempt to open the locker. He looks around as he, frantically, tries to pick the lock. He finally opens the locker and begins searching through Dameon’s bag. He sets things in DAMEON’S locker aside, such as, a water bottle, his school shoes, and his school clothes. He pulls out DAMEON’S watch and admires it. He puts DAMEON’S stuff back in his locker and is about to close the door, when DAMEON rounds the corner. He sees JAKE, with his hand on DAMEON’S locker door and his watch in JAKE’S other hand.

 

DAMEON

(Nervously)

What the hell do you think you’re doing?! Give me my watch…

 

JAKE pulls the watch away and shoves DAMEON away.

 

DAMEON

(Nervously)

Come on, just give me my watch.

 

The other students start to walk in.

 

JAKE

What are you going to do if I don’t?

 

DAMEON reaches for the watch, but JAKE shoves him away, again. The other students begin to CHEER for a fight. DAMEON looks back at the JEERING students.

 

Dameon

(Angrily)

Just give me my watch!

 

COACH REYNOLDS walks in.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Hey! Hey! What’s going on here?!

 

COACH REYNOLDS pushes his way through the crowd of students and steps in between DAMEON and JAKE.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Well? Someone gonna tell me what the hell’s going on?

 

DAMEON

He stole my watch.

 

JAKE

 No, I didn’t!

 

Dameon

It’s right there in your hand!

 

JAKE

This is my watch!

 

DAMEON

You lying piece of shit!

 

DAMEON lunges at JAKE, but COACH REYNOLDS quickly pulls DAMEON away from him.

 

COACH REYNOLDS

Hey! Back off! Bradley, is that his watch?!

 

JAKE

No, sir, it’s my watch… It was a gift from my dad.

 

JAKE smirks and glances at DAMEON. DAMEON’S hands ignite with a purple energy. He instinctively punches JAKE in the face, knocking him off his feet and into the nearby wall. COACH REYNOLDS grabs DAMEON, attempting to restrain him, but DAMEON furiously lifts COACH REYNOLDS off of the ground and tosses him into a nearby set of lockers. COACH REYNOLDS hits the ground and falls unconscious. Some of the students run out of the locker room. The rest back away in fear, unable to decide what to do. DAMEON notices that JAKE dropped the watch, so he hurries over to pick it up. However, the energy, surrounding Dameon’s hands uncontrollably burns the watch. The watch quickly melts in DAMEON’S hand.

 

Dameon

(Upset)

No…no…no,

(Furiously)

No!

 

DAMEON clenches his fist and his whole body ignites with the purple energy. He yells and emits a burst of dark energy. The energy shatters the top portion of all of the lockers in the room. The students yell in fear and attempt to flee. DAMEON is groaning in pain. As the energy emits, small horns begin to grow on his forehead. After a few seconds, he yells out again releasing a bigger blast, which causes the walls around him to collapse. The students in the gym leap to the floor, trying to find cover. Dameon lets out a long drawn out scream, releasing a high amount of dark energy. The school begins to break apart and the debris lifts from the ground, floating within the field of dark energy. CHIEF leaps off the quickly disappearing roof. He lands on the ground and stares in awe at the immense power that DAMEON is displaying. Some of the students are knocked away and killed by the eruption of power. Some are killed from being hit by soaring objects, some are thrown into objects, and some disintegrate from the sheer force of the energy. The school collapses as DAMEON’S burst of energy only brightens. The energy tears apart nearby buildings and kills innocent civilians just driving about and walking down the street. CHIEF leaps into the sky and tries to fly as fast as he can to the outskirts of the city. The view switches to show the city from the sky. The dark energy can be seen, slowly tearing apart the city. The energy suddenly returns to the center of the city. An eerie calm slowly overtakes the city. Out of nowhere, DAMEON’S scream is heard and the energy bursts forth, decimating the remainder of the city. CHIEF nearly reaches the outskirts, but the energy proves too fast and too strong. It catches up and sends CHIEF spiraling toward the ground. CHIEF crashes into the pavement and lets out a painful groan. DAMEON falls to the ground, unconscious.

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(The view enters Dameon’s mind. Dameon is sitting in a large white room. There is nothing in this room other than the chair that Dameon is sitting on. He looks down at his wrists. They are chained to the chair. He shakes his arms, up and down, in an attempt to break free of the chains. He stops and looks to his right, to see a man painting the nearby white wall, with a paintbrush coated in black paint.)

 

Dameon: Who are you? Where am I?

 

Alter Ego: Calm down, I can only answer one question at a time, you know.

 

(The man stops painting and turns to look at Dameon. He looks exactly like Dameon, aside from his pupils resembling the pupils of a snake and the dark bags, beneath his eyes.)

 

Alter Ego: Confused? Heh, of course you are.

 

Dameon: W-what’s going on here?!

 

Alter Ego: You’re asking me a third question, when I haven’t even answered your first two? You always were so damn selfish.

 

(The man turns around and returns to painting.)

 

Dameon: I’m not selfish! I just want some answers!

 

Alter Ego: Watch the temper, Dameon! You might blow up another city!

 

Dameon: W-what? No, that wasn’t my fault! I don’t even know what happened!

 

Alter Ego: You let your anger get the best of you. That’s what happens when you just bottle it all up. Eventually, the cap pops off, and… KABOOM! Hahahaha!

 

Dameon: I didn’t let my anger get the best of me… I…

 

(The man turns around and pulls a screen out of thin air. The screen floats in front of the man and begins to replay the events after Jake stole Dameon’s watch. Dameon sits, quietly, in the chair, watching the screen. The man tosses the screen toward Dameon, but it disappears into thin air.)

 

Alter Ego: You can’t lie to yourself, Dameon. You act like you’re so much better than everyone else. But, in the end, you’re the same. You feel anger, fear, arrogance, loneliness, hatred. But, you bottle these feelings up and put on some kind of façade, in a desperate attempt to fool everyone else into thinking you’re perfect.

 

Dameon: You don’t know anything about me.

 

Alter Ego: Wrong, Dameon. I know EVERYTHING about you. I am you. I’m all of those feelings you thought you could just throw away. You think that people won’t like you if you show them that you’re afraid, arrogant, or angry? You’re wrong, Dameon.

 

Dameon: What are you talking about?!

 

Alter Ego: Ah, right, back to your questions. You can call me Kyren. Like I said, I am a personification of all of your bottled up, negative feelings. This place is inside of your subconscious, the inner bowels of your mind. I know you didn’t ask, but since I’m you I know you’re going to ask: “What are you doing?” Well, I’m painting, as you should be able to see. You see, what’s really going on here is an internal struggle, between you and me. But, this is how your mind perceives our conflict.

 

Dameon: As you… painting?

 

Kyren: Precisely. You see, when I’m done painting this room black I will obtain complete control over your body. I will become you and you will fade away, trapped in the recesses of your mind for eternity.

 

Dameon: You can’t be serious!

 

Kyren: Well, I am and you only have yourself to blame. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have work to do.

 

(Kyren dips the brush into the can of black paint and returns to painting the wall. Dameon struggles to escape from the chair.)

 

INT. REMAINS OF EASTMORE HIGH

 

(Chief leaps down from the sky and lands next to Dameon’s body. He hoists Dameon’s body over his shoulder and leaps into the sky, flying away.)

CHAPTER 2:

 

 

INT. ROSE’S BEDROOM-MIDDAY

 

(Rose, now 22 years old, is lying on her bed. She has headphones in her ears and her eyes are closed. Someone knocks on her door. Her eyes open and she takes the headphones out of her ear. She shuts off her iPod and gets up. She opens the door to find a woman in a black dress. She has long black hair, pale skin, bright red lips and fangs. She looks about 45, but also has young features.)

 

Rose: Oh, it’s just you. What do you want, Sheila?

 

Sheila: Don’t use that tone with your mother.

 

Rose: You’re not my mom.

 

Sheila: I will be, as soon as your father and I tie the knot. I can’t wait to see the look on your face.

 

Rose: What I meant to say was that you’ll never be my mother, no matter what you do. That clear things up for you?

 

Sheila: You don’t have much say in the matter.

 

Rose: Is this why you came up here? Just to annoy me? Because, let me tell you, its working.

 

Sheila: Good. But, the reason I came up here is to tell you that your father wants you to meet him in the Throne Room.

 

Rose: Fine.

 

(Rose walks past Sheila, bumping into her as she leaves.)

 

INT. BLACK CASTLE THRONE ROOM

 

(Giovanni is sitting on his throne. A hooded demon is standing next to the throne. Giovanni’s right hand has been replaced by a piece of metal with a slit in it. Rose enters through the door, followed by Sheila.)

 

Rose: You wanted to see me?

 

Giovanni: Yes. After all these years, I’ve finally found Kyren and Katherine.

 

Rose: What?!

 

Giovanni: It seems they have been living on Earth, in Eastmore City. I want you to go to Eastmore and bring back Katherine.

 

Rose: What about Kyren?

 

Giovanni: It seems that Kyren has been taken from the city, by Chief. Yet, I gave Chief no orders to do so. I will have Dmitri deal with him. I only ask that you and Sheila search the city and don’t return, without Katherine.

 

Rose: Ugh, do I have to go with her! Can’t I have a different partner?

 

Giovanni: Enough. I don’t want to hear a word out of either of you until you bring me Katherine. She is a traitor to us all and she must be executed.

 

(While Sheila smiles, Rose looks uncomfortable with the idea of bringing Katie to her death.)

 

EXT. LUCIFER’S TEMPLE-MIDDAY

 

(A pale man, wearing a black tuxedo and a cape enters a large temple, beneath a roof of ice. He is followed by a group of demons. He steps inside and stops to look around. He sees, what resembles the inside of a church. There are pews all around and a depiction of a demon, clothed in black, on the back wall. There is a decorated pedestal sitting in front of the mural. The man steps up to the pedestal and reads the inscription on the side: “Hell will rise, with the sacrifice of the dark blood of Lucifer.” The man turns and faces his group.)

 

Man: I want all of you to search the area. Gather up anything useful. I will return to Hell and inform Lord Giovanni of our success.

 

(One of the demons walks up to the man, unsheathes his blade, and then stabs him in the chest.)

 

INT. HELL

 

(The pale man appears, in Hell, next to a massive lake of lava. Many damned souls are seen burning in the lava. The man flies up to the nearby bridge, above the lava. He makes his way to the Black Castle.)

 

INT. BLACK CASTLE THRONE ROOM

 

(Dmitri enters the throne room. Giovanni is sitting on his throne, talking to a cloaked demon known as the Oracle.)

 

Giovanni: Dmitri! I hope you have returned with good news?

 

(Dmitri bows before Giovanni.)

 

Dmitri: Of course, my lord.

 

Giovanni: Rise.

 

(Dmitri stands up.)

 

Giovanni: It’s just as you said Oracle. The temple that Lucifer built, before he was imprisoned in Hell, still stands.

 

Oracle: Yes, my lord, though it has been a long time since I’ve been there.

 

Giovanni: Enough, Oracle I want to know why you think this temple will help me, when you don’t know how it will help me?!

 

Oracle: As I’ve said before, my visions aren’t always clear, my lord. I can assure you, though. This temple is important in saving you from your… untimely death.

 

Giovanni: Dammit, how!? Seventeen years ago, you tell me of a vision, in which I am murdered by Kyren or if Kyren were to fail, Artemis! My own sons, who happen to be nowhere to be found! Now, you tell me that I can live, if I find this temple, yet you don’t tell me how this will help me! I WANT ANSWERS!

 

Dmitri: My lord, I think I have the answers you seek. Before I returned I found a pedestal, within the temple. On this pedestal, was an inscription, which read: “Hell will rise, with the sacrifice of the dark blood of Lucifer.” It sounds to me like it is a ritual in which the blood of Lucifer is sacrificed and, in return, Hell will rise to Earth. If you can move about Earth freely, maybe you will have a higher chance at saving yourself.

 

Giovanni: …Oracle do you know anything about this?

 

Oracle: I can’t say that I do, my lord. Lord Lucifer did not keep me… well informed of his actions.

 

Giovanni: It seems that we won’t know, unless we try. The blood of Lucifer courses through my veins. It also courses through Kyren’s veins. To take the necessary precautions, I will not be using my own blood. Dmitri, Chief has abducted Kyren without my orders. I don’t know what his plans are, but I want you and a group, of your choosing, to go to Chief’s Village and find out what Chief is hiding. Then, I want you to take Kyren to the temple and sacrifice his blood to the pedestal. But, I want you to leave him alive. I will execute him, personally.

 

(Dmitri lets out a cold-blooded smirk.)

 

Dmitri: I have the perfect plan in mind.

When I originally wrote this story I had one of my best irl friends take a look at it and he told me the worst part was how flat the characters were So I began focusing on giving the characters more personality since I had the story down just fine. This is the product of working on the characters.

When you read a novel, people want to read one with interesting characters. I think the character development and character personalities is one of the hardest parts of writing a story. But at the same time one of the most satisfying when you know you've done it successfully. Personally I think it's easier to build the story first and then build the character's personalities around the already existing situations. I think it's hard to write characters because it's hard to step out of your own shoes. A lot of people have trouble thinking outside of their own experiences and it makes you want the characters to react the way YOU would react. But people are different and they would react differently.

CHAPTER 3:

 

INT. CHIEF’S HOUSE-AFTERNOON

 

(Dameon is sleeping on a bed, in a cabin. He is drenched in sweat. He wakes up and slowly sits up, looking around in confusion. He attempts to get up, but stumbles around, breathing heavily and clearly disoriented. He appears to be having trouble walking. He grabs onto nearby objects and supports his weight, as he slowly makes his way to the door. The Indian walks in.)

 

Indian: Whoa! You need to sit down!

 

(He helps Dameon over to the bed and Dameon sits down.)

 

Dameon: Who are you?

 

Indian: You can call me Chief.

 

(Chief grabs a nearby cup and hands it to Dameon.)

 

Chief: Here, have some water.

 

Dameon: Thanks.

 

(Dameon takes a drink of water.)

 

Chief: You need to rest. You’ve used up too much dark energy.

 

(Dameon looks up at Chief, confused.)

 

Dameon: Dark what?

 

Chief: Dark energy. It’s the purple light that came from your body, back in Eastmore City.

 

(Dameon slows his breathing and looks down at the ground. He lets out a quiet gulp and tries to calm down.)

 

Dameon: …Did I really do that? Did I kill all of those people?

 

Chief: Unfortunately……yes.

 

(Dameon’s eyes tear up a bit.)

 

Dameon: I-I didn’t mean it. I don’t even know how I……

 

Chief: I know. It was caused by the sudden release of your dark energy. It’s been bottled up for 17 years and you don’t know how to control it. Luckily, as of now, you are calm and your energy has been drained from your body. But, your body is weak from the loss of dark energy. Think of it like losing too much blood. You’ll need to rest. If you strain your body, you could kill yourself.

 

(Dameon looks up at Chief.)

 

Dameon: But, why do I have it? What the hell is wrong with me?!

 

Chief: Nothing is wrong with you, Dameon…

 

Dameon: How do you know my name?

 

Chief: I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you anything more than I already have.

 

Dameon: Why? I just killed thousands of people! You don’t think I deserve to know why?

 

Chief: You do. But, I’m not the person to tell you. I was ordered by someone to bring you here. He will arrive tomorrow morning and… he will explain everything.

 

Dameon: Why can’t you?

 

Chief: I’m sorry, but it’s not my place.

 

Dameon: What about my mom? She should be okay, we live outside of the city, but she’s going to be worried about me.

 

Chief: It’s alright. She’ll be here tomorrow, as well.

 

(Dameon looks at Chief, confused.)

 

INT. KATHERINE’S LIVING ROOM-AFTERNOON

 

(The TV is on and Katie is asleep on the couch. She opens her eyes and sits up slowly. She stretches and then looks at the clock. The clock reads 6:37.)

 

Katie: Shit! Dameon’s still at school!

 

(She jumps up and runs out of the room. A news report about the destruction of Eastmore City is broadcasting.)

 

Reporter: Eastmore City was decimated today, by what is believed to be a mass terrorist bombing, with over 8,000 lives lost. There are currently no known survivors. State officials are not sure what has caused this catastrophe.

 

INT. KATIE’S CAR

 

(Katie hops in her car and begins driving down the road.)

 

EXT. KATIE’S CAR

 

(She is driving down a long road leading to the city. She comes up to the city and sees the debris and a roadblock.

 

Katie: Oh my god!

 

(She stops just before the blockade. There are two cops standing at the blockade and one of them strolls over to Katie’s vehicle. Katie rushes out of her car.)

 

Officer: Ma’am, I’m sorry, but the city has been quarantined…

 

Katie: Officer, what happened?! My son goes to school here! I’m here to pick him up!

 

Officer: …I’m sorry, ma’am, but you’ll have to return home for now. We’re under an investigation at the moment…

 

Katie: Tell me what’s going on!

 

(A dark aura slowly rises from Katie. Out of nowhere, a dark energy blast hits the cop still standing by the blockade. The remaining cop turns around and pulls out his gun. However, he is too late and he is struck and killed by another dark energy blast. The cop falls and Katie sees Sheila and Rose leap down from the sky.)

 

Sheila: Honey, you need to learn to control your energy better. It makes finding you a breeze.

 

Katie: Sheila?!

 

Sheila: Aw, you remember me! How sweet!
 

(Katie’s body ignites with dark energy and she shoots Sheila with a dark energy blast. Sheila is sent flying through a nearby tree.)

 

Rose: You really should’ve seen that coming.

 

(Katie leaps over and kicks Sheila in the stomach.)

 

Katie: What did you do with my son?!

 

(Rose shoots Katie with a blast of white energy. Katie is sent spiraling over Sheila. Sheila gets up. Katie quickly gets up and retaliates by shooting a dark blast at Rose. Rose protects herself with a holy energy barrier.)

 

Katie: …R-Rose?!

 

(Sheila rushes over and lands a swift uppercut to Katie’s chin. Katie does a back flip and lands safely on her feet. Sheila rushes over and attempts to knock Katie off balance by kicking her feet out from under her. Katie lands on her right foot and stomps down on Sheila’s attacking leg with her left leg. Katie backhands Sheila with dark energy surrounding her hand. Sheila falls to the ground and Katie turns to Rose to see a wave of holy energy headed right for her. Katie erects a dark barrier. The holy energy disappears and Katie eliminates the barrier. Rose puts her hands to the ground and her hands glow with holy energy. Katie looks down to see a circle of holy energy below her. Katie leaps back and a burst of holy energy rises from the ground. Katie dodges more and more bursts. Sheila slowly gets up, quickly overcome with fury. After dodging a few more, Rose creates a circle behind Katie forcing her to dodge into it. Katie quickly somersaults to the right, barely dodging her surprise attack. Sheila charges dark energy into her fingertips and rushes up behind Katie. She slashes Katie’s back, drawing blood. Katie whips around and kicks Sheila in the side of her face with a dark energy kick. Sheila slams into another nearby tree. Rose rushes up and charges her elbow with holy energy. She rams her elbow into Katie’s extended leg. Katie’s leg is pumped full of holy lightning. Rose charges up a holy blast, but Katie reacts quickly and puts up a dark barrier causing the blast to backfire on Rose. Rose is pushed away from Katie and Katie quickly drops to her injured knee. She is breathing, heavily.)

 

Katie: Rose, stop! Just tell me where my son is!

 

Rose: You tell me! You’re the one who took him from us! You abandoned us!

 

(Tears drops from Rose’s eyes.)

 

Rose: I’m sorry, but what you did is unforgivable!

 

(Rose’s body ignites with a holy aura. Dark Energy swirls around her holy aura. She charges up holy energy in her left hand and then dark energy in her right. Rose extends her left arm and then her right. The energies converge and she releases a bolt of dark and holy energy at Katie. Katie begins to transform into a vampire as the massive orb of energy is released. However, the blast is stopped before it even gets halfway to Katie. Katie stops transforming and reverts to her human form. The energy was stopped by an older gray haired man, with his back turned to Katie. He is wearing a button-up collared t-shirt and jeans. Interestingly enough, the man stopped the blast with his bare hand. The man reaches into his pocket and pulls out a cigar. He lights the cigar with dark energy, released from his thumb. He puts the cigar to his mouth.)

 

Rose: U-Uncle Skar?!

 

(Interestingly, his horns are missing from his forehead.)

 

Skar: You’ve grown to be pretty strong! That took both hands!

 

(He pulls the cigar away and blows out the smoke.)

 

Skar: Katie, I must say that for being out of the game for 17 years, you’re still quite the adversary. Taking on two opponents at a time all by yourself? You’ve still got it!

 

(Sheila gets up and walks toward them. Skar looks over at Sheila.)

 

Skar: Well, she’s not much of a threat, but whatever.

 

Sheila: Dammit! What are you doing here?!

 

Skar: Heh, so get this; I’m out and about when I see this massive city, just torn to pieces! Took me completely by surprise…

 

(He takes a puff of his cigar.)

 

Sheila: Enough! You’re still exactly the same as I remember. You’re still telling the same terrible jokes.

 

Skar: …Bitch.

 

Rose: What are you doing here?! Dad said that you died 7 years ago!

 

Skar: Hahahahahaha!

 

Rose: Stop laughing! I thought you were dead!

 

(Tears roll down Rose’s eyes.)

 

Skar: I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing at your father. He always did have a problem with telling the truth.

 

Sheila: He has to keep up appearances, of course. He can’t let everyone know that he banished his good-for-nothing brother.

 

Rose: Banished?! You knew, but he wouldn’t even tell his own daughter!

 

Sheila: Of course, I knew. I’m his fiancé, you ignorant little bitch.

 

(Rose clenches her fists and grits her teeth. She suddenly releases a blast of holy energy aimed directly at Sheila. Sheila blocks it with a shield of dark energy.)

 

Sheila: Dammit, Rose! Don’t be so stupid!

 

Rose: Shut up!

 

(Rose releases a volley of holy energy blasts at Sheila. Sheila leaps away and protects herself with a shield of dark energy. The volley breaks through the shield and Sheila is knocked to the ground by one of the bolts. Sheila slowly gets up.)

 

Sheila: You would betray your own family!

 

(Sheila envelops herself with a large amount of dark energy.)

 

Rose: I’m the one who’s been betrayed!

 

(She releases a dark energy ray at Rose. Skar strolls up and stands in the way of the beam. Skar sticks out one hand and stops the ray, with minimal effort. Sheila adds more energy making the ray bigger. Skar rolls his eyes.)

 

Skar: Alright, enough!

 

(Skar pushes the ray back at Sheila with a burst of his own dark energy. Sheila is knocked off her feet and she falls to the ground. Skar releases a massive torrent of dark energy at Sheila, incinerating her body. Sheila shrieks in pain, as Skar puts his cigar to his mouth and takes a puff. He blows the smoke out and smiles.)

 

Skar: I’ve wanted to do that for a long time!

 

(Rose runs over and hugs Skar.)

 

Rose: I still can’t believe that you’re alive!

 

(Rose and Skar release each other.)

 

Rose: Dad said that you killed yourself, after…

 

(Skar puts his arm around Rose and puts his cigar to his mouth.)

 

Skar: Hey, it’s alright! I’m fine. It’s good to see you, though!

 

(Skar takes a puff of his cigar.)

 

Katie: Where is Dameon?!

 

(Skar pulls the cigar away from his mouth and blows out the smoke.)

 

Skar: It’s alright, I arranged for Chief to take him back to his village.

 

Katie: Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!

 

(Katie breaks down crying and hugs Skar.)

 

Skar: Seems I’m pretty popular, today! Alright, we can’t afford to waste anymore time.

 

(Katie releases Skar.)

 

Skar: Rose, I’m assuming you’re okay with helping us?

 

Rose: With what? What are you planning on doing, exactly?

 

Skar: Rose your father wants to kill Kyren. The Oracle told your father that Kyren would grow up to murder him and your father’s paranoia is corrupting him. He needs to be stopped.

 

Rose: How do you plan on stopping him?

 

Skar: Since I’ve been banished, it’s impossible for me enter the castle, so there’s no way that I can stop him myself. Instead, I will train Kyren and have him take him down.

 

Rose: Take him down? You’re not going to kill him are you?!

 

Skar: No, of course not! …Kyren will.

 

(Skar puts the cigar to his lips and takes a puff.)

 

Katie: Excuse me! There’s no way I’m letting my son go near that psychopath!

 

(Skar pulls the cigar away and breathes out a small cloud of smoke.)

 

Skar: Hey, you married that psychopath. What does that say about you?

 

Katie: Dammit, Skar! This isn’t a time for jokes! This is my son’s life we’re talking about!

 

Skar: We’ll work the details out later! For now, we need to make sure Dameon’s safe.

 

Rose: Who’s Dameon?

 

Skar: It’s Kyren.

 

(Rose looks confused.)

 

Skar: I’ll explain later, dammit! We need to get going! Are you in or out?

 

(Skar tosses the remainder of the cigar on the ground and steps on it. Rose stops and thinks for a moment.)

 

Rose: I’ll help you save… Dameon, but I won’t help you kill my father.

 

Chief: Fair enough. Anyway, I want you two to head straight to Katie’s house. I’ll go get Dameon and bring him…

 

Katie: No, I’m going with you!

 

Skar: Nah, too dangerous. I’m already taking a risk by hiding Dameon there. Just do as I say and I’ll handle getting Dameon to my place.

CHAPTER 4:

 

INT. CHIEF’S HOUSE  

 

(Dameon is sleeping on the bed, in Chief’s cabin. He appears to be having a nightmare.)

 

INT. EASTMORE CITY

 

(Dameon is having a nightmare about the destruction of Eastmore City. He hears Kyren’s sadistic laughter, while he kneels before the burning city, horrified by what he has done.)

 

Dameon: No, no! Please stop! I didn’t mean it!

 

(Dameon closes his eyes as tears race down his cheeks.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(The city transforms into the white room within Dameon’s mind. He opens his eyes to see that Kyren has finished painting the wall in front of him and has begun on the wall to his left.)

 

Kyren: Whew! This is hard work!

 

(Dameon remains quiet as Kyren continues to paint.)

 

Kyren: You’re awfully quiet.

 

Dameon: What do you want me to say? Nothing I say matters, anyway.

 

(Kyren turns around and throws the paint brush at Dameon, hitting him in the eye.)

 

Dameon: Aaahh! Dammit!

 

Kyren: You always did give up, way too easily. You gave up trying to make friends; you didn’t even try when Coach Reynolds asked you to join the track team and now you’re giving up on yourself. What is your problem?

 

Dameon: Why are you asking me? I thought you knew everything there is to know about me?!

 

Kyren: I do. But, it doesn’t seem that you know anything about yourself. Giving up on yourself is the worst thing you could do.

 

Dameon: Why do you even care? This just makes your job easier, anyway.

 

Kyren: With your attitude, my job’s been easy right from the start.

 

(Kyren sticks his hand out and the paintbrush soars through the air, back to Kyren. He returns to painting.)

 

INT. CHIEF’S HOUSE-NIGHT

 

(Dameon wakes up. He looks around, amidst the darkness. He hears voices from outside the cabin. He sits up and just as he looks out the nearby window, a blast of dark energy smashes through the wall. Dameon drops on his back, dodging the blast. He sits back up and sees hordes of demons battling against the villagers, outside. Dmitri walks in to the room and smiles before bowing.)

 

Dmitri: Lord Kyren, I apologize for waking you.

 

(Dameon quickly rises and backs away.)

 

Dameon: Who are you?!

 

Dmitri: I will answer any questions you have, later. For now we need to get out of here.

 

Dameon: I don’t even know you and you expect me to follow you!

 

Dmitri: Lord Kyren, I’m on your side.

 

Dameon: Why do you keep calling me that? My name is Dameon.

 

EXT. CHIEF’S HOUSE

 

(Outside, Chief is rushing toward his house, with a staff in hand. However, a large humanoid demon leaps into Chief’s path.)

 

Demon General: You’re not going anywhere, pal!

 

(Chief thrusts his staff into the ground and erects a dark barrier. He releases a flurry of dark energy blasts from the top of the staff. The demon rushes at Chief and cuts through the onslaught of dark energy, with his blade. He reaches Chief and lets out a massive roar, so powerful, that it tears down Chief’s barrier of dark energy. Chief creates a blade at the end of his staff, made out of dark energy, and quickly stabs the general in the center of his chest.)

 

INT. CHIEF’S HOUSE

 

Dmitri: I apologize; this must all be so sudden. But, your name is Kyren. It was the name given to you by your father.

 

Dameon: My father? You knew my father?

 

(Dmitri steps closer to Dameon.)

 

Dmitri: No, my dear boy, I know your father.

 

Dameon: Wait… are you telling me… my father’s alive?

 

Dmitri: Yes, my lord. I work for your father. I’m here to take you to him. Chief was watching over you, until I got here to escort you back to the palace.

 

Dameon: Palace?! Just who the hell is my father?

 

Dmitri: Your father is the devil. Giovanni, the ruler of Hell…

 

Dameon: …The devil? I can’t believe this….

 

(Dameon sits back down on the bed.)

 

Dameon: You can’t be serious.

 

Dmitri: I understand that this is a lot to take in all at once. But, we have to get going. Those creatures (Dmitri points outside) are after you. They are a rebel group working against your father. If we leave now, they will realize your aren’t here and they will leave the village alone.

 

Dameon: …Alright.

 

(He stands up.)

 

Dameon: I want to meet my father.

 

Dmitri: Excellent, then we must get moving at once. You are probably unaware of this, but you can fly.

 

Dameon: Really?

 

Dmitri: Yes, trust me, it’s really quite simple. Just follow my lead.

 

(Dmitri blasts a hole in the roof with his dark energy. He then leaps through the hole and soars away. Dameon hesitantly follows.)

 

EXT. CHIEF’S HOUSE

 

(Chief pulls his staff out of the general’s chest and sees Dameon and Dmitri fly off into the distance.)

 

Chief: NOOOOOOOO!!!!

 

(Chief leaps into the air and flies after them.)

 

Chief: DAMEON!!! STOOOOOPPPP!!!!!

 

(The demon general gets up and races after Chief, tackling him to the ground. They hit the ground and Chief stumbles backwards, while the general clutches his wounded chest. The general attempts to rush at Chief. But, Chief hits him in the face with a blast of dark energy. The general stumbles back and grabs his face, in pain. Chief leaps at the general with his staff/blade ready. The general, instinctively, swats Chief away. Chief crashes into a nearby wall and falls to the ground. As he attempts to get up the general thrusts his blade into Chief’s back, dealing the final blow. Chief falls back to the ground, unable to get up.)

 

Demon General: You get what you deserve, traitor.

 

(The general walks away and the battle soon comes to an end as the small group of villagers proves to be no match against the prepared army of demons.)

 

INT. CHIEF’S VILLAGE-AFTER MIDNIGHT

 

(By now the demons have left and the bodies of the defeated villagers litter the ground of the village. Skar leaps down from the sky and looks around in horror.)

 

Skar: Dammit!

 

(Skar immediately flies away.)

Dmitri: Your father is the devil. Giovanni, the ruler of Hell…

 

Dameon: …The devil? I can’t believe this….

 

 

Shit just got real ...LOLOLOL

CHAPTER 5:

 

EXT. LUCIFER’S TEMPLE-DAWN

 

(Dmitri and Dameon land in front of the temple. Dmitri quickly makes his way to the entrance. Dameon follows behind as he takes in his surroundings.)

 

Dameon: What are we doing here?

 

Dmitri: This is the entrance to Hell.

 

(Dmitri walks up to the pedestal and inspects it for a moment.)

 

Dmitri: Give me your hand, my lord.

 

(Dameon sticks out his hand. Dmitri’s fingernail ignites with dark energy and he uses it to slice the palm of Dameon’s hand. Dameon yanks his hand away.)

 

Dameon: Aaahh! What the hell was that for?!

 

Dmitri: Trust me, my lord. Your blood is needed for you to enter Hell. Place your hand on the top of the pedestal.

 

(Dameon steps in front of the pedestal and places his hand on top. His blood expands and fills the hole in the top of the pedestal. The pedestal glows with dark energy and the temple begins to shake. Dameon pulls his hand away and looks around in confusion.)

 

Dameon: What’s going on?!

 

Dmitri: Hehehahahaha! You will see, soon enough!

 

(The temple walls crumble around them. The snow outside melts and is replaced by a barren wasteland. Black walls burst from the ground around the remains of the temple. The Black Castle rises from the ground. The inside of what used to be the temple transforms into the foyer of the castle. The ground and the walls stop shaking. The double doors, at the top of the stairs, creak open. Giovanni steps out from behind the doors, to greet them. Dmitri bows before Giovanni.)

 

Dmitri: Greetings, my lord.

 

(Dameon’s face lights up with excitement.)

 

Dameon: D-dad?

 

Giovanni: So, it seems that your plan worked, Dmitri. You have yet to fail me.

 

Dmitri: Thank you, my lord. Your words are most appreciated.

 

Giovanni: Then it would seem that I have no more use for the boy.

 

(Dameon’s smile quickly disappears from his face.)

 

Giovanni: Take him to the dungeons. I will arrange for his execution, as soon as possible.

 

(Giovanni turns to leave as Dmitri grabs Dameon’s arms and folds them behind his back.)

 

Dameon: Execution?! But…dad, wait! DAD!!!

 

(Tears roll down Dameon’s cheeks as Dmitri forces him toward the side doors in the foyer.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Dameon is once again sitting in the chair in the center of the room. Kyren has stopped painting and is leaning against one of the dried black walls. Two of the walls have now been painted black.)

 

Kyren: Well? Are you going to do anything?

 

Dameon: What could I possibly do?

 

(Kyren glares at Dameon. Kyren’s fist ignites with dark energy as he rushes toward Dameon. He punches Dameon in the face, drawing blood. He continues to punch Dameon, 5 more times. Dameon yells out in pain, unable to do anything to defend himself.)

 

Kyren: That’s what you could do!

 

(Kyren turns away from Dameon.)

 

 

Kyren: Dammit, you are so pathetic!

 

(Kyren turns back to Dameon and slings a dark energy blast in his face.)

 

Dameon: Ggaaaaaaahhhh!!! What the hell is your problem?! Why do you give a shit what happens to me, anyway?!

 

Kyren: If you die, I die asshole! You need to stand up for yourself! They just used you and now they’re going to just toss you aside, because you’re worthless! Make a damn decision for once! For once in your life don’t just sit there and take all of the shit that everyone just throws at you!

 

(Kyren waits for a response. But, Dameon just sits there breathing heavily.)

 

Kyren: If you’re not going to do something, then I will!

 

(Kyren grabs hold of Dameon’s head. The room becomes blurry and they both yell out in pain.)

 

 

INT. THE BLACK CASTLE DUNGEONS

 

(Dmitri is leading Dameon down a dark corridor beneath the castle. Out of nowhere, Dameon screams in agony and drops to the ground.)

 

Dmitri: What the hell are you doing?!

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Kyren is now sitting in the chair and Dameon is standing in front of him. Dameon tries to slow his breathing as he realizes that he is no longer trapped in the chair.)

 

Dameon: What happened?

 

Kyren: I’m in control now. You weren’t doing anything, so I’ll handle it.

 

Dameon: Give me back my body!

 

(Dameon reaches for the chains that are binding Kyren to the chair, but Kyren just kicks Dameon, causing him to stumble backwards.)

 

Kyren: Calm down! You’ll get your body back! I already told you I won’t have full control until the room has been painted black. This is only temporary.

 

(Dameon looks around and sees the bucket of black paint sitting next to the 3^rd wall. He hurries over to the bucket and picks up the paint brush.)

 

Kyren: What’re you doing?!

 

 (He dips it into the bucket and the paint turns white. He smiles and begins to paint over the black wall.)

 

Kyren: Hey! Knock it off, you piece of shit!

 

INT. THE BLACK CASTLE DUNGEONS

 

(Kyren stops screaming and slows his breathing.)

 

Dmitri: Get the hell up.

 

(Dmitri reaches for Kyren’s shoulder, while Kyren’s fist charges with dark energy. He turns and uppercuts him, sending him crashing through the ceiling. Dmitri bursts through the floor of the foyer.)

 

INT. THE BLACK CASTLE THRONE ROOM

 

(Giovanni is sitting at his throne speaking with the Oracle.)

 

Giovanni: I’ve finally captured Kyren…

 

(A loud boom is heard from within the foyer.)

 

Giovanni: What was that?

 

(Giovanni quickly rises and rushes toward the door.)

 

INT. THE BLACK CASTLE FOYER

 

(Dmitri gets up, still caught in a daze. Kyren leaps up through the hole in the floor and flies at Dmitri. Before Dmitri can react Kyren kicks him in the face, pushing him through the front entrance of the castle.)

 

INT. KATHERINE’S HOUSE-LATE NIGHT/EARLY MORNING

 

(Katie is pacing in her living room while Rose is sitting on the couch.)

 

Katie: I can’t believe he expects me to just sit here and wait, while my son is in danger!

 

Rose: Technically, you’re not sitting, you’re pacing.

 

(Katie stops and looks at Rose.)

 

Katie: Sorry, I’m just really nervous and frustrated!

 

(Katie sits down on the couch.)

 

Rose: It’s okay! Just calm down! You know you can trust Uncle Skar!

 

Katie: Yeah, I guess you’re right.

 

(Katie sighs and flings her head back.)

 

Katie: I feel so helpless!

 

Rose: I know. But, complaining about it isn’t going to make Uncle Skar get here any faster.

 

(They both sit in silence, for a moment.)

 

Rose: I still can’t believe it though.

 

Katie: What?

 

Rose: That dad told everyone that Uncle Skar was dead, but he told that bitch the truth!

 

(Katie chuckles.)

 

Rose: What?

 

Katie: You tell me to stop complaining about my problems and then start complaining about yours!

 

(They both laugh.)

 

Rose: I didn’t mean it like that! I was trying to get you to stop worrying!

 

Katie: Well, it worked. Keep talking.

 

Rose: I just don’t understand what dad sees in her. She’s an ugly, conniving, two-faced whore!

 

(Katie bursts out laughing.)

 

Rose: What now?

 

Katie: It’s just funny hearing you say those things, when I still see you as a five year old girl.

 

(Rose smiles and looks away.)

 

Katie: You’ve grown up. You’re mother would’ve been very proud.

 

(Rose’s smile widens and she blushes a bit.)

 

Rose: Thank you. You know you’re the closest thing to a mom I’ve got.

 

Katie: Really? Come on! I bet Sheila’s a great mom!

 

(They both laugh.)

 

Rose: You know it hurt… when you left. I wasn’t the only one who missed you. Neyon and dad, they were never the same after you left.

 

Katie: I’m sorry, Rose. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you. I should’ve been. I acted on impulse and… I did what I thought was right.

 

Rose: It’s okay. I wasn’t trying to upset you. I forgive you. I know that you were only trying to protect Dameon. I just missed you, is all. I needed a mom and…

 

(Rose gets choked up and has trouble finishing her sentence. They hear a door, in the other room, shut. Skar quickly enters the room.)

 

Skar: C’mon, we’ve got to go!

 

Katie: Where’s Dameon?

 

Skar: He’s gone. Giovanni’s eradicated Chief’s village and killed all of the villagers.

 

(Katie’s face is stricken with horror.)

 

Skar: But, I think I know where he is. I’ve been keeping as close an eye as I can on what Giovanni’s been up to and it seems he’s been searching for a temple built in the North Pole. This temple, using Lucifer’s blood, will raise Hell to Earth. He most likely, sent someone to escort Dameon to the temple and sacrifice his blood. But, if I know my brother he will have left Dameon alive. He’ll want to kill him, himself. We should still have time, but we have to go now!

 

(Katie rushes past Skar. Skar follows behind and Rose reluctantly follows.)

 

EXT. THE BLACK CASTLE-DAWN

 

(Dmitri gets up and sees Kyren walking toward him from the castle entrance.)

 

Dmitri: I guess I should’ve expected that kind of power… from Lord Giovanni’s son.

 

Kyren: My power has nothing to do with my so-called father! But I will tell you this… you have yet to see the full extent of MY POWER!

 

(Kyren surges with a burst of dark energy.)

 

Dmitri: Release!

 

(Dmitri releases a wave of dark energy. Kyren flinches as the energy envelops him.)

 

Dmitri: Then I too will show you the extent of my power!
