This is my favorite story that I've ever written and I decided to post it here for you all to seeeeeeeee. Please leave any feedback that you have, I really and truly appreciate any words of praise or criticism that I can get!

 

PROLOGUE

 

INT. LABORATORY-?

 

Inside this unlit laboratory sit many dusty and broken objects. The only object that appears to be operational is a lone computer sitting in the far corner of the room. The computer is currently being used by a mysterious cloaked man. The monitor shows what appears to be a series of purple lines all branching from a common point on the left-hand side of the screen. The man removes his right hand from the top of the mouse. He taps the desk a few times and then places his hand back on the mouse. After clicking the mouse a couple times all of the lines, except for one line, disappear from the screen. A few key points, along the line, become highlighted and titled, in this order: “The Fall of Man,” “Lucifer’s Banishment,” “Lucifer’s Defeat At RAGNAROK,” “Volkan’s Birth,” “The Creation of the Five Black Souls,” “The Creation of Haven Island,” “David Grim Learns That Demons Exist,” “Melody’s Mission,” “Melody’s Execution,” “The Black Mist Appears,” “The Prophecy Begins.” The cloaked man clicks once and the titles end over half way down the line at “The Prophecy Begins.” Each of the titles has a green check, underneath it, except for “The Prophecy Begins.” The man’s thick blonde beard, long blonde hair, and malignant smirk can be seen, beneath his hood.

 

EXT. BLACK CASTLE-EVENING

 

An eerie black castle sits on a large island surrounded by lava.

 

INT. ARTEMIS’S ROOM-EVENING

 

In this bedroom there are three children. One is a six year old boy in black shorts and a blue t-shirt. He has somewhat long dark-blonde hair. He is, also, wearing a black headband. His name is ARTEMIS. Another one of the children is a five year old girl with black wavy hair. She is wearing a black shirt and a long red skirt. Her name is ROSE. The last is a four year old made of a black mist. His eyes are white and contain no pupils. His name is NEYON. NEYON’s arms solidify and he pushes ARTEMIS into the side of the bed.

 

ARTEMIS

Come on, knock it off!

 

NEYON dissipates into a cloud of black mist. The mist launches itself behind ARTEMIS, lands on the bed and transforms back into NEYON. He kicks ARTEMIS in the back of the head, knocking him, face-forward, into the ground.

 

NEYON

Ha-ha-ha!

 

ROSE

Neyon, stop it!

 

NEYON

Stop what? We’re just having fun!

 

ARTEMIS

This isn’t my idea of fun!

 

NEYON glares at ARTEMIS. He extends his arm and pulls ARTEMIS’ headband off of his head and puts his arm high in the air so that he can’t reach it.

 

ARTEMIS (CONT.)

(Jumping up and down)

Hey! Stop! Give it back! Dad gave that to me!

 

ROSE

Give it back to him!

 

NEYON

Just use your dark powers! Fly up and get it!

 

ARTEMIS

I can’t! You know that!

 

ARTEMIS becomes quite upset and quickly tries to hide his tears.

 

NEYON

You’re such a pussy!

 

ROSE jumps up on to the bed. She jumps out to the nearby wall and rebounds upward, grabbing the headband and landing safely on the ground.

 

ARTEMIS

Thanks Rose.

 

(ARTEMIS wipes his eyes and puts the headband back on as NEYON retracts his arm.)

 

NEYON

What the hell, Rose?

 

ROSE

You’re such a jerk to him! He’s your brother!

 

NEYON

I doubt it. The devil’s children should have amazing power! He can’t even use dark energy yet and even if he could it’s not like he’d use it to fight anyone! (Neyon turns his head to look at Artemis.) I bet you were adopted.

 

ARTEMIS

(Screams)

Shut up!

 

ROSE

I can’t use my powers either, you know.

 

NEYON

Yeah, but you’re cool.

 

The door opens and two men walk in. One has long horns. He is wearing a gray t-shirt, black jeans and spiked boots. He has long slicked back black hair. He is the devil and his name is GIOVANNI. The other has long horns, slicked back gray hair, and a thin-gray beard. He also has a deep scar running over his left eye. He is wearing a brown t-shirt and camouflage jeans. He is also wearing boots. He is the devil’s brother and his name is SKAR.

 

SKAR

Hey, kids! What’s going on?

 

ROSE

Uncle Skar!

 

NEYON AND ARTEMIS

(Simultaneously)

Hey dad!

 

ARTEMIS wipes his eyes.

 

SKAR

You guys ready to meet him!

 

ROSE

(whines)

I wanted to finally have a sister.

 

NEYON

Yes! I’ve always wanted a brother!

 

ARTEMIS

You already have one.

 

NEYON

What’s that, sis?

 

ARTEMIS

(Screams)

Shut up!

 

GIOVANNI

(Bellows)

Enough! Follow me.

 

GIOVANNI turns and leaves.

 

SKAR

(Mutters)

What crawled up his ass?

 

ROSE giggles. The children follow SKAR out of the room.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

They all crowd around the crib. Sitting on the bed is a beautiful woman wearing a white dress. She has long, curly, black hair. She is smiling. Her name is Katherine and she is GIOVANNI’s wife.

 

ROSE

Awww, he’s so cute!

 

NEYON

Who cares if he’s cute? I can’t wait until he’s old enough to fight!

 

ARTEMIS

You already want him to fight? He’s just a baby!

 

NEYON

Hey, you both have something in common already!

 

ARTEMIS glares at NEYON.

 

GIOVANNI

We’ll see just how powerful he is when his eyes slit.

 

NEYON

Once a devil is born, their eyes slit and their power erupts uncontrollably. The more power that’s released, the more powerful the baby is. I can’t wait to see!

 

The baby’s eyes are closed. After a few seconds his eyes open and his pupils slit. The baby breaks out into a loud scream as tears pour down his cheeks. As this happens a ball of purple energy appears around the baby. The energy erupts outward from the baby. Everyone puts up their arms to shield their faces. Once the energy subsides, they all put their arms down. The baby’s eyes return to normal and he slowly stops crying.

 

GIOVANNI

(Wonders)

Such power! Could the Prophecy really be true?!

 

ROSE

 Wow!

 

ARTEMIS

What’s his name?

 

KATIE

We’ve decided on Kyren.

 

GIOVANNI

Alright… time for bed, kids.

 

NEYON, ROSE, AND ARTEMIS

(Simultaneously)

Awww, c’mon!

 

GIOVANNI

What did I just say?!

 

The three hurry out of the room. KATIE looks at GIOVANNI with a concerned look before following the kids out of the room. GIOVANNI glares at Kyren.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM-NIGHT

 

GIOVANNI is standing over Kyren. His hand glows with dark energy as he begins to raise his arm above his newborn son. The dark energy transforms into a knife that GIOVANNI grasps tightly. The light suddenly turns on and KATIE is seen standing by the archway leading into the room. She looks at GIOVANNI in horror.

 

INT. ARTEMIS’S ROOM

 

ARTEMIS is lying in bed with the lights out. He hears a knock at his door. He gets up and opens the door to find ROSE and NEYON.

 

NEYON

Hey, dad was acting weird earlier. We’re going to go spy on him. Come on!

 

ARTEMIS

…

 

NEYON

Unless you’re too scared?

 

ARTEMIS sighs and then walks past them. ROSE and NEYON turn and follow close behind. ROSE glares at NEYON and hurries after ARTEMIS.

 

ROSE

You don’t have to come with us, you know?

 

ARTEMIS

I know.

 

EXT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

The children walk up to the door and each presses their ears to the door.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

KATIE

Answer me! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!

 

GIOVANNI

I’m going to kill him.

 

KATIE

 What are you talking about? Why… why would you kill your own son!?

 

GIOVANNI

Don’t question me. What I say goes, you got that?

 

KATIE

 No! I don’t think I do get that! You actually believe the Oracle?!......You bastard! You’re that scared of your son that you’d kill him! Then what about Artemis! The prophecy said that he would kill you if Kyren failed! Are you going to kill him too?!

 

GIOVANNI

Of course, I should’ve killed him a long time ago, anyway.

 

EXT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

A horrified look appears on ARTEMIS’ face.

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

GIOVANNI

Just like I killed his mother… she was a filthy angel and she got what she deserved.

 

EXT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

ARTEMIS loses his balance and stumbles backwards onto the ground, as a tear trickles down his cheek.

 

ROSE

Artemis!

 

(ARTEMIS scrambles to his feet and runs off. NEYON begins to laugh.)

 

NEYON

What a little pussy!

 

ROSE

What is wrong with you?

 

ROSE runs off after ARTEMIS.

 

NEYON

Whatever, I’m going back to bed.

 

NEYON turns around and walks down the hall. He eventually sees SKAR heading his way.

 

SKAR

Uh, what are you doing out of bed?

 

NEYON

None of your beeswax, old timer.

 

NEYON walks past SKAR, causing SKAR to encase his hand in dark energy, reach down, and grab NEYON’S shoulder.

 

SKAR

I don’t know what your problem is, short-stuff, but next time you can just shove it up your ass.

 

SKAR smiles and pats NEYON on the head. SKAR leaves NEYON and makes his way toward GIOVANNI’S room.

 

INT. CASTLE HALLWAY

 

ROSE runs for a bit while calling out ARTEMIS’ name. She eventually catches up to him. He stops and turns. His face is covered in tears.

 

ROSE

 Artemis! I’m sorry I didn’t tell you! I…

 

ARTEMIS

You knew my mom was an angel?! You knew and you didn’t tell me!

 

ROSE

I knew that it would upset you, so I thought it would be better if you didn’t know! But, it’s okay, because she was my mom, too!

 

ARTEMIS

So, that makes it okay?! How long have you known?!

 

ROSE

I-I heard Uncle Skar and dad talking about it, a few months ago… I guess…

 

Artemis

Months!? How could you not tell me!? Out of everyone in our family, you seemed like the only one who actually cared about me!

 

ROSE

Artemis, I didn’t mean…!

 

ARTEMIS

I don’t want to hear it!

 

ARTEMIS takes off running.

 

ROSE

Artemis!

 

ROSE runs after him. After a little while of running she stops and sees ARTEMIS’ black headband lying, torn, on the ground. She rushes past the headband, hoping not to lose him.

 

ROSE

Artemis, come back!!!!

 

INT. GIOVANNI’S ROOM

 

KATIE

 I won’t let you kill him!

 

GIOVANNI

You don’t have a say in the matter!

 

SKAR knocks on the door. GIOVANNI walks through the archway and rounds the corner, quickly opening the door.

 

Giovanni

(Annoyed)

What do you want?!

 

SKAR

(Jokingly)

Oh I’m sorry did I interrupt something? Heh heh heh! Then again… do you guys really want another one? You already have four…

 

Suddenly, an explosion ROARS from the other side of the room. GIOVANNI turns and rushes into the room only to find a large hole in the side of their room. Kyren is now missing from the crib and KATIE is nowhere to be seen. GIOVANNI rushes over to the hole, followed by SKAR. They look out to see KATIE, with vampire wings now attached to her back, flying toward a large green portal at the end of a long bridge above a large pool of lava. She is holding Kyren, tightly. GIOVANNI leaps through the hole in the wall and flies after her.

 

GIOVANNI

(Bellows)

Stop!

 

He unleashes a flurry of dark energy bolts. But, KATIE barrel rolls and dodges each one. Below them, ROSE is chasing ARTEMIS along a narrow bridge protruding from the island supporting the Black Castle.

 

ROSE

(Crying)

Artemis, wait!

 

But, ARTEMIS ignores ROSE’S cries and rushes toward the end of the bridge. At the end of the bridge sits a large green portal. ARTEMIS runs into the portal, instantly disappearing. ROSE stops and stares at the portal for a moment. She turns around and sees KATIE flying toward her. KATIE dives into the large green portal glancing at ROSE, overcome with regret. KATIE rushes through the portal just before GIOVANNI catches her. GIOVANNI is unable to stop in time and once he reaches the portal an invisible wall causes him to bounce backwards. He falls to the ground and slowly gets up. ROSE hurries over and tries to help him up. GIOVANNI looks at Rose and swats her aside, knocking her to the ground.

 

Giovanni

(Furiously)

What the hell are you doing out of bed?!

 

ROSE

(Stuttering)

Artemis, he…

 

Suddenly, a group of demons rush up from the bridge to check on their leader.

 

DEMON #1

Are you okay, Lord Giovanni?! You know you can’t leave Hell, sir!

 

GIOVANNI

I know that, you dumbass! Get your asses through the Gate and find her!!!

 

GIOVANNI quickly rises to his feet.

 

DEMON #1

But, sir, who knows where the gate transported her and who knows where it’ll transport us! We could end up on opposite sides of Earth!

 

GIOVANNI

I don’t care! Just find her and Kyren,

(Bellows)

Immediately!

 

They quickly rush trough the portal, in fear of what might happen should they not follow their orders.

 

EXT. EASTMORE CITY-NIGHT

 

A small amount of purple lightning begins to spark in the air close to the grass on the cliff. After sparking three times, KATIE appears on the cliff, holding Kyren. She looks down at him, breathing heavily. Kyren starts crying.

 

KATIE

Don’t worry, shhh, I’ll keep you safe.

 

She kisses him on the forehead and then turns and walks away from the cliff.

CHAPTER 6:

 

(Dmitri raises his hand and emits a blast of dark lightning at Kyren. Kyren creates a thin blade made of dark energy and uses it to deflect the lightning. Dmitri sends stream after stream of dark lightning at Kyren. Kyren struggles to deflect the powerful energy. Dmitri rushes in behind his lightning and catches Kyren off guard. He covers his hand in dark lightning and jabs Kyren in the chest, causing him to hack blood. Dmitri kicks Kyren across the face knocking him to the right. Dmitri rushes past Kyren and manages to catch him by his hair, in mid-air.)

 

Dmitri: Let’s see what kind of power you truly possess.

 

(Dmitri sinks his fangs into Kyren’s neck, drawing out his dark energy. Dmitri drains Kyren’s energy, quickly empowering himself. Dmitri tosses Kyren aside and then makes his way toward the castle.)

 

INT. THE BLACK CASTLE

 

(Giovanni is hurrying down the stairs. He bumps into Sheila at the bottom.)

 

Sheila: Kyren’s broke out, but Dmitri’s handling it.

 

Giovanni: Dammit! He had better not fail me!

 

Sheila: He hasn’t before. You need to calm down; all this stress is bad for you.

 

(Sheila puts her arms around Giovanni and smiles. Giovanni pushes her away, overcome with anger.)

 

Giovanni: DAMMIT! He’s here! Not now!

 

Sheila: What’s wrong?

 

Giovanni: Skar! He’s headed this way; I can sense his dark energy! Rose and Katherine are with him!

 

Sheila: Just calm down, honey! I’ll go deal with them! Skar can’t set foot on Hell’s territory! It’s okay.

 

Giovanni: You? Deal with them? You failed me last time! What makes now any different!?

 

Sheila: I’ll take Bethany with me. I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to take down Skar, but I won’t return until Katie and Rose are dead.

 

Giovanni: …You had better not fail me this time.

 

(Sheila kisses Giovanni and hurries away.)

 

EXT. BLACK CASTLE-DAWN

 

(Dmitri is walking toward the castle. Out of nowhere his back is hit by a blast of dark energy. He spins in the air and lands on his feet, dazed. Kyren rushes up and punches him in the face. Dmitri does a back flip, barely landing on his feet. Kyren rushes in and attempts to punch him again, but Dmitri dodges. Kyren kicks, but Dmitri leaps over his leg. Dmitri tries to punch Kyren in the face, but Kyren lets out a burst of dark energy that causes Dmitri to stumble back. Kyren lands an uppercut to Dmitri’s chin knocking him to the ground. Dmitri struggles to get up.)

 

Dmitri: How are you still standing?! I drained you of your dark energy?!

 

Kyren: If you think that little bit of dark energy you took was all I had, then you’ve sorely underestimated me.

 

(Kyren launches a beam of dark energy, from his left hand. Dmitri raises a shield of dark energy, blocking the beam. Dmitri quickly stands up, just in time for his shield to be broken by Kyren’s beam. Dmitri counters with his own beam of dark energy. Kyren adds a stream of lightning to his beam, which makes its way to Dmitri, electrocuting him. Dmitri’s beam dissipates and Kyren’s beam hits Dmitri knocking him away. Dmitri tries to get up, but Kyren walks over and stomps on his head, crushing the ground beneath Dmitri’s face. Kyren takes a step back and stomps on Dmitri’s back multiple times. Dark energy bursts from Kyren’s foot amplifying the force of his stomps.)

 

Kyren: You’re finished…

 

(Kyren looks up to see Giovanni peering out the window at the top of the castle.)

 

Kyren: …AND YOU’RE NEXT!

 

(Dmitri suddenly surges with dark energy. Kyren turns to face Dmitri, but the sudden surge knocks Kyren away. Dmitri slowly gets up as a horrific transformation begins to take place. Dmitri begins to grow rapidly and his clothes tear away. His skin is replaced with thick black and gray fur. Wings tear through his back and his teeth sharpen. He lets out a deafening roar.)

 

Dmitri: NOT SO FAST! YOU STILL HAVE ME TO DEAL WITH!

 

(Dmitri leaps at Kyren, pinning him to the ground. He viciously bites his neck again and when he finishes he swats him into the side of the castle, cracking the base.)

 

Giovanni: WATCH IT, DMITRI! DON’T YOU PUT ANOTHER SCRATCH ON MY CASTLE!

 

(Dmitri looks up at Giovanni and lowers his head.)

 

Dmitri: MY APOLOGIES, MY LORD! IT WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN!

 

(Kyren rushes in, out of nowhere, and elbows Dmitri in the stomach. Then he punches him in the jaw, shattering his jaw and each of his teeth.)

 

Kyren: Now let’s see how you take my power without your precious firetrucking teeth!

 

(Dmitri quickly retaliates and swats at Kyren. Kyren puts up his arm easily blocking the attack. Dmitri’s claws dig in to Kyren’s arm. Kyren winces, but doesn’t falter. He quickly charges his free hand with dark energy. He slices off Dmitri’s arm and punches him in the chest. Dmitri clutches his missing arm. Kyren looks at Dmitri with rage in his eyes. Blood is dripping from his forehead and lips. His shirt and pants are torn. He removes his jacket and tosses it aside. Kyren puts up his arms and taunts Dmitri.)

 

Kyren: Show me what you got!

 

(Dmitri roars and charges up dark energy in his mouth. However, Kyren disappears in a flash, appearing behind Dmitri. He slices one of his wings off with his dark energy and grabs a hold of the other wing. He puts his foot on Dmitri’s back and uses the leverage to tear off the other one. Dmitri drops on one knee, out of pain. He attempts to turn to retaliate, but Kyren kicks him in the face and then slices his chest open. Then he kicks him in the chest knocking him through the base of the castle. He looks up at Giovanni, smirking.)

 

Kyren: SORRY, ABOUT THE CASTLE, DAD! ...IT LOOKS PRETTY BAD FROM DOWN HERE! YOU BETTER COME CHECK IT OUT!

 

(Giovanni angrily flies down, headed straight for Kyren. He unsheathes his blade from the metal piece attached to his arm. Kyren drops on his back and thrusts his legs into the air, narrowly dodging the sword thrust. He catches himself with his hands and grabs the blade with his feet, flinging Giovanni into the ground behind him. Giovanni’s blade goes into the ground and Kyren lands on his feet. He quickly turns and uppercuts Giovanni in the chest. Giovanni sheathes his blade and does a flip easily landing on his feet. He turns and unsheathes his blade and cuts Kyren across his cheek. Kyren stumbles away and then Giovanni hits him in the face with a blast of dark energy. Kyren falls to the ground and struggles to get up. Giovanni picks him up by his hair and knees him in the stomach.)

 

Giovanni: You miserable brat! How dare you put even one scratch on my castle!

 

(He continues to knee him in the stomach. Over and over, he continues the beating. Kyren hacks blood and screams out in pain.)

 

Giovanni: How could I have ever believed that you could kill me?! You disgusting excuse for a demon!

 

Kyren: Agggraagggagraaahhhh! SHUT UP!!!!!

 

(Kyren unleashes a burst of dark energy that knocks Giovanni back. Kyren leaps at Giovanni and kicks him in the head, knocking him on his back and crushing the ground beneath him. Kyren drops down and punches him in the face, but only once. Giovanni grabs his fist before he can get a second one in and easily pulls him to the ground. He uses the leverage to pull himself up and unleashes a blast of dark energy at Kyren. Kyren lies on the ground, unable to move.)

 

Giovanni: I can’t believe I have to deal with this! If that worthless bitch hadn’t taken you, I would’ve been done with this headache a long time ago.

 

(Kyren’s eyes fill with rage.)

 

Kyren: Worthless bitch?! Headache?! That’s all we are to you!?!? …You selfish bastard!

 

(Kyren’s body ignites with dark energy. Giovanni tries to stomp on his chest, but Kyren catches his foot and releases a shockwave of dark energy from his hand. Giovanni stumbles back. He tries to walk back toward Kyren, but bounces off of a field of dark energy surrounding Kyren.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Dameon is painting the walls white, while Kyren sits in the chair. Kyren begins to yell in anger. Dameon turns around, confused by his sudden outburst. Kyren’s arms grow bigger and break the chains, binding him to the chair. His shirt and the bottom of his pants tear away. His eyes glow with a black colored energy, instead of purple and his horns and hair grow longer. He gets up and roars, knocking over the paint cans. The paint turns black and stains the floors. The new monstrous Kyren sets his sights on Dameon and rushes at him. Dameon, uncontrollably, falls through the floor. Kyren runs into the wall and starts pounding on it, falling further into a mad rage.)

 

EXT. BLACK CASTLE

 

(Giovanni backs away from Dameon and stares in fear at the monstrosity that once was his son.)

Dmitri: How are you still standing?! I drained you of your dark energy?!

 

Kyren: If you think that little bit of dark energy you took was all I had, then you’ve sorely underestimated me.

 

(Kyren launches a beam of dark energy, from his left hand. Dmitri raises a shield of dark energy, blocking the beam. Dmitri quickly stands up, just in time for his shield to be broken by Kyren’s beam. Dmitri counters with his own beam of dark energy. Kyren adds a stream of lightning to his beam, which makes its way to Dmitri, electrocuting him. Dmitri’s beam dissipates and Kyren’s beam hits Dmitri knocking him away. Dmitri tries to get up, but Kyren walks over and stomps on his head, crushing the ground beneath Dmitri’s face. Kyren takes a step back and stomps on Dmitri’s back multiple times. Dark energy bursts from Kyren’s foot amplifying the force of his stomps.)

 

Kyren: You’re finished…

 

(Kyren looks up to see Giovanni peering out the window at the top of the castle.)

 

Kyren: …AND YOU’RE NEXT!

 

(Dmitri suddenly surges with dark energy. Kyren turns to face Dmitri, but the sudden surge knocks Kyren away. Dmitri slowly gets up as a horrific transformation begins to take place. Dmitri begins to grow rapidly and his clothes tear away. His skin is replaced with thick black and gray fur. Wings tear through his back and his teeth sharpen. He lets out a deafening roar.)

 

Dmitri: NOT SO FAST! YOU STILL HAVE ME TO DEAL WITH!

 

(Dmitri leaps at Kyren, pinning him to the ground. He viciously bites his neck again and when he finishes he swats him into the side of the castle, cracking the base.)

 

Giovanni: WATCH IT, DMITRI! DON’T YOU PUT ANOTHER SCRATCH ON MY CASTLE!

 

(Dmitri looks up at Giovanni and lowers his head.)

 

Dmitri: MY APOLOGIES, MY LORD! IT WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN!

 

(Kyren rushes in, out of nowhere, and elbows Dmitri in the stomach. Then he punches him in the jaw, shattering his jaw and each of his teeth.)

 

Kyren: Now let’s see how you take my power without your precious firetrucking teeth!

 

(Dmitri quickly retaliates and swats at Kyren. Kyren puts up his arm easily blocking the attack. Dmitri’s claws dig in to Kyren’s arm. Kyren winces, but doesn’t falter. He quickly charges his free hand with dark energy. He slices off Dmitri’s arm and punches him in the chest. Dmitri clutches his missing arm. Kyren looks at Dmitri with rage in his eyes. Blood is dripping from his forehead and lips. His shirt and pants are torn. He removes his jacket and tosses it aside. Kyren puts up his arms and taunts Dmitri.)

 

Kyren: Show me what you got!

 

(Dmitri roars and charges up dark energy in his mouth. However, Kyren disappears in a flash, appearing behind Dmitri. He slices one of his wings off with his dark energy and grabs a hold of the other wing. He puts his foot on Dmitri’s back and uses the leverage to tear off the other one. Dmitri drops on one knee, out of pain. He attempts to turn to retaliate, but Kyren kicks him in the face and then slices his chest open. Then he kicks him in the chest knocking him through the base of the castle. He looks up at Giovanni, smirking.)

 

Kyren: SORRY, ABOUT THE CASTLE, DAD! ...IT LOOKS PRETTY BAD FROM DOWN HERE! YOU BETTER COME CHECK IT OUT!

 

(Giovanni angrily flies down, headed straight for Kyren. He unsheathes his blade from the metal piece attached to his arm. Kyren drops on his back and thrusts his legs into the air, narrowly dodging the sword thrust. He catches himself with his hands and grabs the blade with his feet, flinging Giovanni into the ground behind him. Giovanni’s blade goes into the ground and Kyren lands on his feet. He quickly turns and uppercuts Giovanni in the chest. Giovanni sheathes his blade and does a flip easily landing on his feet. He turns and unsheathes his blade and cuts Kyren across his cheek. Kyren stumbles away and then Giovanni hits him in the face with a blast of dark energy. Kyren falls to the ground and struggles to get up. Giovanni picks him up by his hair and knees him in the stomach.)

 

Giovanni: You miserable brat! How dare you put even one scratch on my castle!

 

(He continues to knee him in the stomach. Over and over, he continues the beating. Kyren hacks blood and screams out in pain.)

 

Giovanni: How could I have ever believed that you could kill me?! You disgusting excuse for a demon!

 

Kyren: Agggraagggagraaahhhh! SHUT UP!!!!!

 

(Kyren unleashes a burst of dark energy that knocks Giovanni back. Kyren leaps at Giovanni and kicks him in the head, knocking him on his back and crushing the ground beneath him. Kyren drops down and punches him in the face, but only once. Giovanni grabs his fist before he can get a second one in and easily pulls him to the ground. He uses the leverage to pull himself up and unleashes a blast of dark energy at Kyren. Kyren lies on the ground, unable to move.)

 

Giovanni: I can’t believe I have to deal with this! If that worthless bitch hadn’t taken you, I would’ve been done with this headache a long time ago.

 

(Kyren’s eyes fill with rage.)

 

Kyren: Worthless bitch?! Headache?! That’s all we are to you!?!? …You selfish bastard!

 

(Kyren’s body ignites with dark energy. Giovanni tries to stomp on his chest, but Kyren catches his foot and releases a shockwave of dark energy from his hand. Giovanni stumbles back. He tries to walk back toward Kyren, but bounces off of a field of dark energy surrounding Kyren.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Dameon is painting the walls white, while Kyren sits in the chair. Kyren begins to yell in anger. Dameon turns around, confused by his sudden outburst. Kyren’s arms grow bigger and break the chains, binding him to the chair. His shirt and the bottom of his pants tear away. His eyes glow with a black colored energy, instead of purple and his horns and hair grow longer. He gets up and roars, knocking over the paint cans. The paint turns black and stains the floors. The new monstrous Kyren sets his sights on Dameon and rushes at him. Dameon, uncontrollably, falls through the floor. Kyren runs into the wall and starts pounding on it, falling further into a mad rage.)

 

EXT. BLACK CASTLE

 

(Giovanni backs away from Dameon and stares in fear at the monstrosity that once was his son.)

CHAPTER 7: 

 

EXT. HELL’S NEW TERRITORY

 

(Skar, Rose, and Katie are soaring through the sky. As they press on they look down to see that the ice is melting and they are now flying above a barren wasteland. Skar looks confused.)

 

Skar: We’re too late! We’ve just crossed into Hell’s Territory!

 

Katie: How is that possible?! You can’t enter Hell!

 

Skar: I’ll let you know when I figure that out!

 

(A dark object appears in the distance.)

 

Katie: What is that?!

 

Rose: Dammit… it’s Bethany!

 

(The object gets closer and reveals itself to be a massive dragon. Sheila is riding on its head.)

 

Skar: Get out of the way!

 

(Rose and Katie fly to the right and left, respectively. Skar rises above the dragon and hits Sheila with a blast of dark energy, knocking her off of the dragon’s head. Sheila catches herself, midair, and flies directly at Katie. Sheila tries to punch Katie in the face, but she dives below her and kicks her in the back of the head. Katie quickly makes a dive for the ground. Sheila chases after her. Rose flies in behind Sheila and releases a beam of holy energy into her back. Sheila plummets to the ground, but erects a barrier of dark energy around her in order to stop her fall. She turns and lets out a beam of dark energy to combat Rose’s holy beam. Katie runs up from Sheila’s left and tries to cut her side with dark energy. Sheila kicks her arm away and dives to the side. Rose’s holy energy hits the ground knocking Sheila and Katie away. Out of nowhere Bethany crashes into the ground near Sheila. Skar descends and lands in front of her.)

 

Skar: I’m going to go ahead to make sure Dameon’s alright. Katie, you come with me. Rose…

 

(He turns to look at Rose and smiles.)

 

Skar: She’s all yours.

 

(Rose smiles and cracks her knuckles. Skar and Katie leap over Sheila and fly away. Sheila turns and tries to chase after them, but Rose plunges the knife on the end of her whip into Sheila’s back. She pumps her full of holy lightning and then yanks her in, for a close range assault. Rose slams her into the ground. She jumps over to Sheila and punches her in the stomach with a fist full of holy energy. She proceeds to punch Sheila multiple times in the face.)

 

Rose: You stupid bitch! Words can’t describe how much I despise you! Everything about you makes me sick to my stomach!

 

(Rose slowly calms down and gets up off of Sheila’s lifeless body. She backs away and turns around. Sheila’s eyes open and she slowly gets up.)

 

Sheila: Get back here, you disobedient brat.

 

(Rose turns to face Sheila.)

 

Rose: I’m glad you got back up. It gives me the chance to make sure I bury you, once and for all.

 

Sheila: You have no right to talk to me like that!

 

Rose: Don’t say it! Don’t you dare say it! You are not my mother! You’re just a greedy slut, who thinks she can manipulate my father!

 

(Sheila transforms into a brown vampire, similar to Dmitri’s transformation. She flies into the sky and Rose follows her. Rose rushes in from behind and slices her back with holy energy. Sheila turns and swats Rose out of the sky. Rose catches herself and tries to fly back up, but Sheila grabs her and flings her into the ground. Rose crashes into the ground, but quickly gets up and does a back flip as Sheila tries to stomp on her. Rose glows with an aura consisting of dark energy and holy energy.)

 

Rose: I don’t have the time to deal with any more of your bullshit!

 

(Rose releases a burst of dark and holy energy that forces Sheila onto her knees. The sheer force puts a tremendous amount of pressure on Sheila. Rose’s skin turns pale and her clothes are replaced with a long black dress. Black angel wings burst from her back and her eyes disappear from their sockets. Blood drips from the empty sockets and horns appear on her forehead. Her nails grow an extra inch or two and her chain whip disintegrates. The energy dies down and Sheila slowly gets off of her knees.)

 

Sheila: When did you become able to activate your Devil Form?!

 

Rose: You shouldn’t be surprised. You don’t know anything about me.

 

(Rose’s voice echoes as she speaks. The feathers on her wings break off and flutter around her body.)

 

Rose: You know nothing about me, because you are not my mother. You’re nothing more than an annoying little smudge in my life. But, after today I won’t ever have to deal with you again.

 

(Rose extends her arm and her feathers race towards Sheila, who still has trouble moving under the effects of Rose’s released energy. The feathers slice Sheila all over her body. She drops to her knees and changes back into her normal state. She begins to cry tears of blood. Rose steps closer to Sheila.)

 

Sheila: Stay back! Don’t come near me!

 

(Sheila stumbles and attempts to run away, but a feather slices one of her legs off. She falls flat on her face. She lifts her head up and tries to get up. Rose’s chain whip reappears in her hands and she flings it at Sheila wrapping it around her throat.)

 

Sheila: P-p-please spare me!

 

Rose: I’m surprised you can make jokes at a time like this.

 

(Rose tugs on the whip and the knife on the end decapitates her. Rose changes back into her normal state and quickly flies away, intending to meet up with Skar and Katie.)

 

EXT. THE BLACK CASTLE

 

(The dark energy surrounding Devil Dameon slowly dies down. Giovanni stands paralyzed with fear.)

 

Giovanni: I have to run! I have to get as far from here as possible!

 

(Just as quick as Giovanni turns, Devil Dameon proves to be far faster, rushing in just behind him. He picks Giovanni up by his head, with one massive hand. Devil Dameon slams Giovanni’s face into the ground and then drags him along the ground. After dragging him around for a while, he picks him up over his head and turns, to slam him into the ground. He punches Giovanni with a fist charged with new pitch black dark energy. Dameon picks him up and flings him far into the sky. He opens his mouth wide and releases a highly concentrated beam of pitch black dark energy. The beam hits Giovanni, forcing out a blood curdling scream. The beam ends and Giovanni falls to the ground heavily injured. Skar and Katie descend from the sky and land on a nearby cliff.)

 

Katie: Is that… Dameon?!

 

Skar: I think so. It would appear that he’s activated his Devil Form. Not only that, but his dark energy! It’s ascended to Nightmare Energy!

 

Katie: We have to do something!

 

Skar: No, let’s wait a second. If you’d take a moment to watch, you’d see that Dameon is easily in control of this fight. Giovanni could be finished off here and now. Once he’s killed Giovanni then I’ll intervene.

 

Katie: Skar, are you kidding me?! You’re going to let those two kill each other?!

 

Skar: Dammit Katie, this could be it. I might not even have to train Dameon! This could be the best chance we have to stop him!

 

Katie: Don’t you lie to me! You don’t want to stop him, you want to kill him! You’re using Dameon for your own personal revenge!

 

Skar: He needs to be stopped, now! He is corrupt and if we don’t stop him now… things will only get worse.

 

(Skar looks back at the fight, while Katie stares at him in silence. Dameon rushes at Giovanni, who is barely standing. Giovanni unsheathes his blade and stabs Dameon in the chest. Dameon slugs Giovanni in the face, so hard, that Giovanni’s blade rips from his arm and remains stuck in Dameon’s chest. Dameon looks at his chest and rips the blade out, tossing it aside. Nightmare energy surrounds his wound and it quickly closes up. Giovanni hits the ground and Dameon continues to pulverize Giovanni’s already broken body. Out of nowhere, Rose descends from the sky and rushes toward the conflict.)

 

Skar: Shit! ROSE! GET OUT OF THERE, NOW! ROOOOOOOSSSSSEEE!!!!

 

(Skar leaps off of the cliff and flies toward them.)

 

Rose: Dameon! You have to stop right now! Snap out of it!

 

(Rose blasts him in the back of the head with a bolt of holy energy. Dameon turns around and slugs Rose, knocking her into the side of the stairs leading to the castle doors. Rose hits the ground and falls unconscious. Dameon turns to see Giovanni getting up. He punches Giovanni sending him crashing through the base of the castle. Skar lands on Dameon’s back and puts his spear in front of Dameon’s horns. He charges his spear full of dark energy and then yanks it toward himself. The energy breaks off Dameon’s horns. Dameon falls to the ground and Skar jumps off. Dameon transforms back into his normal state, but is missing his smaller horns. Skar leaves Dameon’s body and rushes for the hole in the base of the castle. Giovanni sees Skar running toward him and freaks out, trying to get up and run. Skar hits an invisible wall around the castle and bounces away. He slams his fists into the wall, angrily.)
 

Skar: Count your blessings, you piece of shit!

 

(Skar hurries back to Dameon and hoists him over his shoulder. Katie picks up Rose and does the same. They fly away from the castle, in order to return another day.)

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Dameon is once again chained to the chair in the center of the room. Kyren has returned to painting the walls.)

 

Dameon: You had no right to take over my body.

 

Kyren: I have every right… it’s my body. Besides, that asshole got what he deserved.

 

Dameon: Shut up! That’s my father you’re talking about!

 

(Kyren turns to face Dameon.)

 

Kyren: Our father! He’s my father too. But unlike you I’m facing reality! He doesn’t care about us, Dameon! If I hadn’t taken action, you’d be dead! He’d have killed you and wouldn’t have thought twice about it!

 

(Dameon sits silently.)

 

Kyren: You’re weak. But, I’m not. I’ll handle this. He won’t know what hit him.

 

(Kyren turns and continues painting.)

 

INT. HIDDEN CAVE-LATE AFTERNOON

 

(Dameon is lying asleep on the floor of a cave. He has gauze on his forehead. He wakes up and looks around, confused. He sees Rose sitting nearby, leaning against the wall. She has a makeshift sling on one of her arms.)

 

Rose: Hey, you’re finally awake.

 

(She slowly gets up and walks over to a nearby table. She picks up an apple and then walks over to Dameon. She holds out the apple.)

 

Rose: You hungry?

 

(Dameon hesitantly takes the apple.)

 

Dameon: Thank you.

 

(She sits down nearby and chews on an apple of her own. Dameon looks at the apple and then lowers his hand, opting not to take a bite just yet.)

 

Dameon: Um, who… are you?

 

Rose: My name’s Rose.

 

(She puts out her hand and he hesitantly shakes it.)

 

Rose: …I’m your sister.

 

(Rose takes a bite of her apple and releases his hand. Dameon looks at her in disbelief and confusion. Skar and Katie walk into the cave.)

 

Katie: Dameon!

 

(Katie runs over to Dameon and wraps her arms around him. Skar smiles and walks up behind her.)

 

Skar: Alright, Katie, give him some breathing room.

 

(Katie releases him and slowly backs away.)

 

Skar: How you feeling?

 

Dameon: I’m okay, a little dizzy.

 

Skar: That’s to be expected. You used up a lot of dark energy. Your body is running on empty.

 

(Dameon looks at Skar in confusion.)

 

Skar: I imagine you’re confused.

 

Dameon: …Kind of.

 

Skar: Well, to start my name’s Skar and I’m your uncle…. on your dad’s side of the family. As you’ve seen your father’s got a lot of issues and he needs to be stopped. Now, I can’t get anywhere near him since I’m banished from the castle. Between the remaining three of you, you have the most potential. I’m going to train you to take down Giovanni.

 

Dameon: Take him down? You’re going to train me to kill my father; your brother?!

 

Skar: Yeah, you got the gist of it.

 

Dameon: No. No, I won’t do it.

 

Skar: Dameon, I understand it’s…

 

(Dameon drops the apple and quickly stands up.)

 

Dameon: No, you obviously don’t understand! I don’t want these powers anyway so there’s no way I’m going to use them.

 

Skar: Why don’t you want your powers? They’re a part of what makes you… you.

 

Dameon: I destroyed an entire city with this power! If that’s a part of what makes me who I am… then I don’t want to be me. It’s not power, it’s just a curse. Thanks for stopping me from killing my dad, but I don’t need your help anymore.

 

Skar: Thanks for stopping you?! I would’ve let you kill the rotten bastard, but your sister got in the way! You broke her arm with those powers!

 

Rose: Uncle Skar, stop!

 

Dameon: That’s exactly why I don’t want to use them!

 

Skar: Dameon, if you don’t get them under control then it could happen again.

 

Dameon: My name’s not Dameon, so stop calling me that.

 

Skar: No, your name is Dameon. That’s the name that was given to you by your mother! The only one of your parents that actually cared about you! Stop defending that piece of shit!

 

Dameon: That piece of shit you’re talking about is my father!

 

Skar: Yeah, the same father that wasn’t there for you for a single damn moment of your life!

 

(Skar points at Katie.)

 

Skar: She was there! She cared about you! Your “father” only cares about himself! He lied to your sister; he betrayed you and your mother! The second the Oracle told him about the prophecy you were dead to him.

 

Dameon: What prophecy?

 

Skar: The Oracle told him that you were destined to grow up to murder him and take over Hell.

 

Dameon: No wonder he wants me dead then! He’s scared for his damn life!

 

Skar: Are you kidding me?!

 

Dameon: What would you do, if you were in his position, huh?!

 

Skar: What would I do?!

 

Dameon: Yeah!

 

Skar: I WOULD DIE, BEFORE I LAY A HAND ON MY SON!

 

(Dameon stands there at a loss for words. Skar’s breathing becomes irregular, unable to contain his anger. Dameon looks away and after a few moments of silence, he storms past Skar and bolts out of the cave.)

 

Katie: Dameon!

 

(Skar grabs Katie’s shoulder. Skar sighs.)

 

Skar: Stay here. This is my mess to clean up.

 

(Skar walks out of the cave and Katie sits down next to Rose. Rose puts her arm around Katie.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Skar walks out of the cave and sees Dameon sitting near the edge. He sighs and slowly walks up, sitting down next to him. They sit for a moment, in silence. Skar pulls out two cigars and lights one with his dark energy. He takes a puff and then looks at Dameon. He holds the unlit one out.)

 

Skar: Want one?

 

Dameon: I’m not even old enough to smoke.

 

Skar: Hahahaha, by human laws. Smoke doesn’t affect our lungs, like humans.

 

Dameon: …Why do you smoke?

 

Skar: I didn’t always smoke. Shortly after I was banished from Hell, I took it up. The smell and taste… it reminds me of home.

 

Dameon: Why did he banish you?

 

(Skar puts the cigar to his lips and takes a moment to think. He takes a puff and lowers the cigar.)

 

Skar: You know I was a father, once upon a time.

 

Dameon: You were a father?

 

Skar: Yeah… unfortunately I am no longer a father… His name was Wraith. He was a good kid. He was a real fighter, too. They called him Hell’s greatest warrior, back in the day. But, one day he went out on a mission… and he never came back. But, here’s the thing… he wasn’t killed by an enemy. He was killed by one of his own comrades. You might wonder why one of his own comrades would want to kill him. Even though they were on a mission, together, his partner had been assigned a second mission. He was ordered, by my brother, to kill Wraith at the most opportune moment during their mission. Giovanni feared my son. My son was far more powerful than he could imagine. So, he killed him. Giovanni lied and told everyone that Wraith had been killed in combat. But, I knew. I knew the truth. So, I confronted him. That bastard told me right to my face that he gave the order to have my son killed. So, I attacked him. Everything went black and I fell into a blind fury. I ended up cutting off his hand. But, he had me restrained and then banished. Hahaha… He kills my son and then banished me from my own home. Some firetrucking brother…

 

(Skar takes a puff of his cigar and shakes his head.)

 

Dameon: So then you want revenge?

 

Skar: I do. But, since I can’t get to him, there’s nothing I can do about it. He fears me too much to come out of his castle and risk me getting a hold of him.

 

Dameon: So, you’re just using me to get your revenge?

 

(Skar blows out the cigar smoke and sighs.)

 

Skar: …A little. But, it’s also because you don’t deserve the bullshit he put you through. If anyone deserves to knock him out, it’s you.

 

(Skar puts the cigar to his lips and takes a puff. They sit for a moment and enjoy the view below the cliff. Day eventually turns to night. Dameon gets up and walks back toward the cave. He stops and stands turned away from Skar.)

 

Dameon: Uncle Skar?

 

Skar: Yeah, Dameon.

 

Dameon: Thanks.

 

Skar: Any time, kid.

 

(Dameon makes his way back to the cave.)

Skar: Well, to start my name’s Skar and I’m your uncle…. on your dad’s side of the family. As you’ve seen your father’s got a lot of issues and he needs to be stopped. Now, I can’t get anywhere near him since I’m banished from the castle. Between the remaining three of you, you have the most potential. I’m going to train you to take down Giovanni.

 

Dameon: Take him down? You’re going to train me to kill my father; your brother?!

 

Skar: Yeah, you got the gist of it.

 

Dameon: No. No, I won’t do it.

 

Skar: Dameon, I understand it’s…

 

(Dameon drops the apple and quickly stands up.)

 

Dameon: No, you obviously don’t understand! I don’t want these powers anyway so there’s no way I’m going to use them.

 

Skar: Why don’t you want your powers? They’re a part of what makes you… you.

 

Dameon: I destroyed an entire city with this power! If that’s a part of what makes me who I am… then I don’t want to be me. It’s not power, it’s just a curse. Thanks for stopping me from killing my dad, but I don’t need your help anymore.

 

Skar: Thanks for stopping you?! I would’ve let you kill the rotten bastard, but your sister got in the way! You broke her arm with those powers!

 

Rose: Uncle Skar, stop!

 

Dameon: That’s exactly why I don’t want to use them!

 

Skar: Dameon, if you don’t get them under control then it could happen again.

 

Dameon: My name’s not Dameon, so stop calling me that.

 

Skar: No, your name is Dameon. That’s the name that was given to you by your mother! The only one of your parents that actually cared about you! Stop defending that piece of shit!

 

Dameon: That piece of shit you’re talking about is my father!

 

Skar: Yeah, the same father that wasn’t there for you for a single damn moment of your life!

 

(Skar points at Katie.)

 

Skar: She was there! She cared about you! Your “father” only cares about himself! He lied to your sister; he betrayed you and your mother! The second the Oracle told him about the prophecy you were dead to him.

 

Dameon: What prophecy?

 

Skar: The Oracle told him that you were destined to grow up to murder him and take over Hell.

 

Dameon: No wonder he wants me dead then! He’s scared for his damn life!

 

Skar: Are you kidding me?!

 

Dameon: What would you do, if you were in his position, huh?!

 

Skar: What would I do?!

 

Dameon: Yeah!

 

Skar: I WOULD DIE, BEFORE I LAY A HAND ON MY SON!

 

(Dameon stands there at a loss for words. Skar’s breathing becomes irregular, unable to contain his anger. Dameon looks away and after a few moments of silence, he storms past Skar and bolts out of the cave.)

 

Katie: Dameon!

 

(Skar grabs Katie’s shoulder. Skar sighs.)

 

Skar: Stay here. This is my mess to clean up.

 

(Skar walks out of the cave and Katie sits down next to Rose. Rose puts her arm around Katie.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Skar walks out of the cave and sees Dameon sitting near the edge. He sighs and slowly walks up, sitting down next to him. They sit for a moment, in silence. Skar pulls out two cigars and lights one with his dark energy. He takes a puff and then looks at Dameon. He holds the unlit one out.)

 

Skar: Want one?

 

Dameon: I’m not even old enough to smoke.

 

Skar: Hahahaha, by human laws. Smoke doesn’t affect our lungs, like humans.

 

Dameon: …Why do you smoke?

 

Skar: I didn’t always smoke. Shortly after I was banished from Hell, I took it up. The smell and taste… it reminds me of home.

 

Dameon: Why did he banish you?

 

(Skar puts the cigar to his lips and takes a moment to think. He takes a puff and lowers the cigar.)

 

Skar: You know I was a father, once upon a time.

 

Dameon: You were a father?

 

Skar: Yeah… unfortunately I am no longer a father… His name was Wraith. He was a good kid. He was a real fighter, too. They called him Hell’s greatest warrior, back in the day. But, one day he went out on a mission… and he never came back. But, here’s the thing… he wasn’t killed by an enemy. He was killed by one of his own comrades. You might wonder why one of his own comrades would want to kill him. Even though they were on a mission, together, his partner had been assigned a second mission. He was ordered, by my brother, to kill Wraith at the most opportune moment during their mission. Giovanni feared my son. My son was far more powerful than he could imagine. So, he killed him. Giovanni lied and told everyone that Wraith had been killed in combat. But, I knew. I knew the truth. So, I confronted him. That bastard told me right to my face that he gave the order to have my son killed. So, I attacked him. Everything went black and I fell into a blind fury. I ended up cutting off his hand. But, he had me restrained and then banished. Hahaha… He kills my son and then banished me from my own home. Some firetrucking brother…

 

(Skar takes a puff of his cigar and shakes his head.)

 

Dameon: So then you want revenge?

 

Skar: I do. But, since I can’t get to him, there’s nothing I can do about it. He fears me too much to come out of his castle and risk me getting a hold of him.

 

Dameon: So, you’re just using me to get your revenge?

 

(Skar blows out the cigar smoke and sighs.)

 

Skar: …A little. But, it’s also because you don’t deserve the bullshit he put you through. If anyone deserves to knock him out, it’s you.

 

(Skar puts the cigar to his lips and takes a puff. They sit for a moment and enjoy the view below the cliff. Day eventually turns to night. Dameon gets up and walks back toward the cave. He stops and stands turned away from Skar.)

 

Dameon: Uncle Skar?

 

Skar: Yeah, Dameon.

 

Dameon: Thanks.

 

Skar: Any time, kid.

 

(Dameon makes his way back to the cave.)

CHAPTER 9: 

 

 

INT. BLACK CASTLE THRONE ROOM-MIDDAY

 

(Giovanni, who appears to have recovered from his wounds, is sitting on his throne. The Oracle is standing before him.)

 

Oracle: I’m pleased to see that you have recovered from your battle with Kyren. If I may ask my lord, now that you have reached Earth, what are your plans?

 

Giovanni: Unfortunately, Hell’s territory has yet to span the globe. I can only tread on Hell’s soil.

 

Oracle: If Hell continues to expand at its current rate, we will reach the outskirts of civilization in less than two months. I suspect that Earth will become Hell in approximately six months. What do you plan to do when this happens?

 

Giovanni: Why do you keep asking me?! You’re the one who told me that reaching the temple would save me from my “fate!” I found the goddamn temple, so I assumed that raising Hell was of some importance! Stop asking me what to do and start telling me what I need to do!

 

Oracle: Kehehehehehehehe, you call yourself the ruler of Hell and yet you can’t even make your own decisions.

 

(Giovanni glares at the Oracle.)

 

Oracle: …Fine. I think you’ll be very interested to hear what I have to say. Once, Hell’s territory crosses onto the mainland, Heaven’s army will, no doubt, intervene. Within these two months you must bring your army up to Earth. It will not be an easy fight. Heaven has a formidable army and your army may take a heavy loss. But if you and your army could manage to defeat the forces of Heaven…

 

Giovanni: …Then I could take the place of God himself!

 

Oracle: I can see that you like the sound of that. I thought you might, keheheheheh.

 

Giovanni: It would be quite the feat to finish what Lucifer once began. Unfortunately, because of the change in territory my brother is able to step on Hell’s soil, once more. However, he cannot enter the castle. If I leave this castle, I run the risk of Skar ruining the whole damn thing.

 

Oracle: Yes, Skar is a very intimidating opponent. But, he is not undefeatable. I’m sure you could talk a “certain” angel into handling him.

 

(Giovanni seems to have a clear understanding of whom the Oracle is talking about. He stands up from the throne and steps over to the window. He gazes out at the land, pondering the conversation. The Oracle glides over to Giovanni, peering over his shoulder.)

 

Oracle: As you know, Kyren no longer has his horns. His Devil Form is no longer a threat. The only one standing in the way of your rise to power is Skar. Skar will be gone and Heaven, Earth and Hell… will be in the palm of your hand. Just imagine the day in which you will look out this very window to see Hell’s greatest warriors and Heaven’s greatest warriors all bowing down… to you.

 

(Giovanni smiles at the thought of such power. Suddenly, the demon general that killed Chief enters the room. He walks to the center of the room and bows, as Giovanni and the Oracle turn to greet him.)

 

Giovanni: Ah! Samuel just the man I wanted to see.

 

Samuel: I have come bearing ill news, my lord.

 

Giovanni: Rise.

 

(Samuel stands straight up with his arms at his side.)

 

Samuel: I am sorry to inform you that we found Lady Sheila’s corpse on the outskirts of Hell.

 

Giovanni: Erm, yes that is quite tragic. But, we have more important matters to discuss. I want you to return to Hell and…

 

Samuel: I’m sorry, my lord, but did you hear me correct? Lady Sheila is dead and you don’t seem to care.

 

(Giovanni knocks Samuel away with a blast of dark energy. Samuel sits up, as Giovanni walks toward him. Giovanni grabs him by his collar and brings him up to his feet.)

 

Giovanni: Let me make this very clear. Don’t you EVER INTERRUPT ME! I am your superior and you have no right to speak, unless spoken to! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!

 

Samuel: Yes, my lord. I apologize for my disrespect.

 

(Giovanni releases Samuel and turns away. Samuel chokes up, overcome with fear.)

 

Giovanni: As I was saying, I have decided to wage war against the denizens of Heaven and Earth. I want you to return to Hell and begin escorting the army to Earth. You will make round trips and bring at least 150 demons at a time. I want you to start with the demons that are closest to the entrance of Hell. You will make your way back to the Soul Pit. Neyon and Clarice should be the last warriors you return with. Do I make myself clear?

 

Samuel: …Yes, my lord.

 

Giovanni: Excellent. You are dismissed.

 

(Samuel bows and leaves the throne room, unhappy with Giovanni’s decision.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-DAWN

 

(Dameon, Skar, Rose and Katie are all standing outside of the cave.)

 

Katie: Only a month?!

 

Skar: Unfortunately, yes. If Hell continues to expand at this rate, then it will reach the mainland in less than two months. If that happens then Heaven’s army will get involved, in order to stop the chaos it will cause amongst the humans. We have to finish him before that happens. Luckily, it seems that with Hell’s rising the rules of my banishment have been altered. I am now allowed on Hell’s territory, but I still can’t enter the Black Castle. This means that Giovanni shouldn’t be so quick to leave his castle. We’ll have to confront him from within the castle.

 

Dameon: What about the people here on Earth? What happens if they find out about Hell?

 

Skar: Anybody that enters the territory of Hell won’t be able to withstand the atmosphere. Their bodies will burn up the second they step foot inside. No one will be able to get word out to anyone else.

 

Dameon: But, what about them? Innocent people are going to just set foot inside without knowing and then they’re gone? Isn’t there anything we can do to stop that?

 

Skar: We already are doing something. Unfortunately there will be a few people that will die, but the best thing you can do is just train. In a month we’ll go to the Black Castle and we’ll end this. Let’s get started.

 

(Dameon follows Skar out of the cave. Skar runs off into the woods, with Dameon following close behind.)

 

Skar: Now, as we run there are a few things we need to talk about. When you go into battle with someone, you need to know what kind of advantages your opponent has over you, as well as what advantages you hold over your opponent. Unfortunately, by removing your horns I put you at a disadvantage.

 

Dameon: How’s that?

 

Skar: In order for you to activate and retain your Devil Form, you must have your horns. So, in order to stop you I had to remove your horns. But, a demon’s horns are important to their strength. Without your horns your dark energy will be less powerful. Another disadvantage is that Giovanni is a very experienced fighter. You only have a short amount of time to reach his level.

 

Dameon: Not to interrupt, but do I have any advantages?

 

Skar: Not that I know of.

 

(Skar looks back at Dameon, while still running. He smiles and starts laughing.)

 

Skar: All the more reason to pick up the pace!

 

(Skar picks up the pace, leaving Dameon behind. Dameon rushes to catch up. Dameon is sprinting through the forest, desperately trying to keep up. He sees Skar in the distance. Dameon dodges the random trees and leaps over bushes, chasing after him.)

 

Dameon: Wait up!

 

(Skar stops and uproots a tree with his bare hands. He steps aside and waits a moment. Dameon is sprinting at full speed, when Skar swings the tree out in his path. Dameon collides with the tree and crashes to the ground, out of breath.)

 

Skar: Hahahaha! You got to have a better reaction time then that, kiddo!

 

(Skar runs off, enjoying the nature around him. He suddenly sees Dameon whiz right past him. Skar, amazed at Dameon’s speed, continues to chase after him. Skar soon catches up, running a few steps behind. Dameon’s face is dripping with sweat. Skar lines himself up right next to Dameon.)

 

Skar: You thought you could just blow me away, did you?!

 

Dameon: You act like we’ve crossed the finish line!

 

Skar: I didn’t know there was one!

 

Dameon: Then when do we stop?!

 

(In the distance, they see the edge of a cliff. Skar stops at the cliff and puts his hand out, stopping Dameon. Below the cliff is a river running through the woods. The river leads to a lake with a waterfall, depositing water into it.)

 

Skar: We’ll fly to the bottom of the cliff and run alongside the water. Then once we reach that boulder next to the lake we’ll fly up to the top of the waterfall. First one to the top wins?

 

Dameon: Sounds good, to me!

 

(Skar and Dameon immediately leap off the cliff. They hit the ground and take off at full speed along the river. Skar is on the left side of the river and Dameon is on the right. They are in line with each other; neither one ahead of the other. They reach the lake and leap into the sky. Skar looks over and sees Dameon slowly passing him. He releases a blast of dark energy at the cliff, above Dameon. The cliff bursts and the debris falls on Dameon. He dodges the larger boulders, but gets cut up from some of the smaller ones. The dust blinds him and some of the debris hits him, knocking him into the lake. He swims to the shore and looks up to see Skar sitting at the top of the cliff, lighting a cigar. Dameon flies up to the top of the cliff. He sits down next to Skar and takes a drink from the river.)

 

Skar: That was a close one!

 

Dameon: Yeah, I’d have won if you hadn’t cheated.

 

(They both laugh.)

 

Skar: Hey, I never said you couldn’t knock me out of the sky! Besides, Giovanni… he’ll cheat. He’ll do whatever it takes to win and you need to be prepared for that. But, if it makes you feel any better, I see that you do have an advantage.

 

Dameon: Yeah? What’s that?

 

Skar: He’s not going to be able to hit you. You’re too damn fast!

 

(Skar laughs in disbelief at Dameon’s speed and takes another puff from his cigar.)

CHAPTER 10: 

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-MORNING

 

Skar: Now that you’ve warmed up and we’ve worked on your stamina, we need to work on your strength.

 

(Skar uproots a tree from the ground.)

 

Dameon: What’s that for?

 

Skar: You’re going to bench press it. Don’t use your dark energy, either. You’ll need it for later.

 

Dameon: Are you kidding me?! I can’t lift that!

 

Skar: Dameon, you seem to forget that you aren’t bound by human limits. Even without using your dark energy or having prior training, you should have no problem doing at least… 200 reps.

 

Dameon: 200?! You’re insane!

 

(Skar flings the tree at Dameon, pinning him to the ground.)

 

Dameon: Ooofff!

 

Skar: Get to it! We don’t have time to waste!

 

(Dameon slows his breathing and then pushes the tree at an arm’s length above his body. He lowers it and then repeats.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Dameon and Skar are facing each other from across the clearing.)

 

Skar: Alright, now I’m going to sling orbs of dark energy at you. I want you to use your own dark energy to block the blast. But, the thing is that if you use too much unnecessary dark energy then you may not have any left when you need it later. So, you need to sense out my energy, as I throw it at you, and then adjust your dark energy to match it. I will lower and heighten the amount of dark energy I release so only use the necessary amount of dark energy needed to protect yourself. You can block it, deflect it, whatever. Just so long as you don’t dodge or take the hit. Confused?

 

Dameon: Uh, yeah.

 

Skar: I figured. It sounds like a lot to remember, but it’ll become second nature with practice. You ready?

 

Dameon: Yeah.

 

(Skar holds out his hand. His hand pulses with dark energy. Skar releases a blast and Dameon instinctively puts up a shield of dark energy. The energy dissipates and Skar releases another one. This time Dameon’s shield falters a bit.)

 

Skar: Not bad, but you probably should’ve used a little more. If I had followed up with another one, your shield would’ve collapsed and that would’ve been the end of that.

 

(Skar releases another one and the energy emanating from the shield destroys it before it even reaches it.)

 

Skar: You used too much! You need to concentrate!

 

Dameon: I’m trying!

 

(Skar releases a flurry of dark bolts. Dameon’s shield fails and two of the blasts make it through. Dameon hits the ground and coughs in pain.)

 

Skar: Get up and do it again.

 

(Dameon stands up, frustrated with his performance.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-EVENING

 

Skar: This will be the last training of the day. I want you to practice firing your dark energy into concentrated attacks. Dark energy is an extension of our souls. We simply shape it into whatever we want.

 

(Skar creates a blade out of dark energy. The blade disappears and he creates a group of shuriken in between his fingers. They disappear and he creates a spear, an axe, a hammer, a dagger, and a bow and arrow.)

 

Skar: Those are just a few examples of shaping your energy into weapons. Your energy can also be shaped into long-range bolts and beams.

 

(Skar releases a blast of dark energy followed by a dark beam. He then releases a stream of dark lightning.)

 

Skar: Because dark energy is basically an extension of our very beings, we can release it from any point of our body.

 

(Skar releases a ray of dark energy from both of his eyes, a beam from the base of his foot, and a blast from his mouth. He lifts his arm and releases a beam of dark energy from his armpit. Then he lifts his leg and farts out a bolt of dark energy. Dameon and Skar laugh.)

 

Skar: That was a bit over the top, but you get my point.

 

Dameon: Yeah.

 

Skar: Alright, so I want you to just practice shaping your dark energy. Try to find the right balance between power and control.

 

(Skar walks into the cave, leaving Dameon. Dameon stands there unsure of himself. He holds out his hand and it ignites with dark energy. He releases it, but it disappears a few feet away. He tries again, but it doesn’t go much further. He throws his arms up, in annoyance. He continues to try, but with no luck.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-DAWN

 

(Skar and Dameon exit the cave. Dameon yawns and rubs his eyes.)

 

Skar: Wake up, kiddo!

 

(Skar smacks Dameon’s shoulder, causing him to flinch and clutch his shoulder in pain.)

 

Skar: Hahahaha, I see you’re sore from training. Get used to it, because you’ll be sore everyday for the rest of the month. Yesterday, we ran about 2 miles. Today, we’re running 5.

 

Dameon: You know I can’t stop my dad if you’re training kills me first.

 

Skar: If you have the energy to make jokes then you have the energy to train! Let’s get to it!

 

(Skar and Dameon run into the woods. Skar stays a good distance ahead of Dameon, trying to push Dameon to run harder. This only seems to frustrate Dameon.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Dameon is benching the tree, but this time Skar is sitting on top of the tree. Dameon seems to be struggling to lift the tree.)

 

Skar: Come on, you haven’t even met yesterday’s count! You need to improve, each and every day!

 

(Dameon pushes harder, but to no avail. He drops the tree on his chest. Skar gets up and lifts the tree off of Dameon with one hand. Skar shakes his head and sighs as he tosses the tree aside. Dameon remains on the ground with his arms outstretched against the dirt.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Dameon puts up a shield to block Skar’s attacks, but the shield breaks and Dameon takes a hit. Dameon slowly gets up and tries again. But, he only gets the same results.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-NIGHTTIME

 

(Dameon is practicing wielding his dark energy, with Skar sitting nearby. Dameon releases a beam that burns a nearby tree.)

 

Skar: Dameon, take a break for a second.

 

(Dameon is sweating and breathing heavily. He walks over and Skar hands him a bottle of water.)

 

Skar: Why aren’t you trying?

 

Dameon: What do you mean?

 

Skar: You aren’t trying. I want you to tell me why.

 

Dameon: Don’t tell me I’m not trying! I’m busting my ass out here!

 

Skar: Busting your ass? You’ve been releasing dark energy for the last nine hours. I know that you have a lot, but not that much. You’ve been releasing that much, because you aren’t using much of it. Listen to me, kiddo. Dark energy is like a muscle. As you use it, it breaks down and grows stronger. But, if you aren’t pushing it to its limits you aren’t getting anywhere. You’re wasting your time and mine.

 

Dameon: Oh, so now I’m just wasting your time?!

 

(Skar stands up and gets in Dameon’s face.)

 

Skar: Don’t go taking out your frustration on me! Whether you like it or not, I’m one of the few people that are actually here for you. So, show me a little respect! Now get back over there and actually give it all you have.

 

(Dameon, angrily, walks back over and Skar sits down. Dameon releases a flurry of dark energy bolts into the distance, but they all fade a few feet away.)

 

Dameon: Dammit!

 

INT. WOODS-DAWN

 

(Skar is running through the woods, when he turns to see that Dameon is nowhere in sight. He rolls his eyes and turns around. He runs back and soon finds Dameon, walking.)

 

Skar: What’s the problem?

 

Dameon: I’m exhausted.

 

Skar: Dameon, you need to get your ass in gear! We have three weeks!

 

Dameon: I know, alright! Get off my back; I’m trying as hard as I can!

 

Skar: That’s the problem, Dameon! You’re not trying as hard as you can! You’re getting frustrated and you’re just giving up!

 

Dameon: I didn’t give up! I’m out here, aren’t I?!

 

Skar: Yeah, but that’s all you are! You’re just out here!

 

(Dameon turns around and storms off. Skar follows him.)

 

Skar: Oh, now you suddenly have enough energy to rush back to the cave, huh!

 

Dameon: I’m not doing your stupid training! Get someone else to be your guinea pig!

 

Skar: Excuse me?! You think I’m just using you?!

 

Dameon: Of course you are! You can’t kill my dad by yourself so you’re forcing me to do it for you!

 

Skar: No one’s forcing you to do anything! Your father needs to be taken down! He’s hurt more people than just me!

 

Dameon: Yeah, well there’s no way I’ll be ready to take him on in a month! Why don’t you get Rose to do it?

 

Skar: You would put that burden on your own sister?!

 

Dameon: Why not?! You threw it on me!

 

(Skar stops chasing Dameon and stands there at a loss for words. Dameon continues on, heading back to the cave. Dameon eventually reaches the cave, storming in.)

 

Katie: Where’s Skar?

 

Dameon: Don’t ask me, I couldn’t care less.

 

(Dameon sits down on the cavern floor to rest. Katie leaves the cave. Rose walks over and sits down next to Dameon, as he takes off his shoes.)

 

Rose: Are you okay?

 

Dameon: No, I’m not okay. He’s putting way too much pressure on me.

 

Rose: Do you mind hearing what I think?

 

Dameon: …No, go ahead.

 

Rose: I think that the only who’s putting too much pressure on you, is yourself. When you don’t succeed, right away, I’ve noticed that you begin to put yourself down. You need to relax and remember that you’re new at this.

 

(Dameon looks down and thinks about his sisters words.)

 

Dameon: …Can I ask you something?

 

Rose: Of course.

 

Dameon: What do you think would happen if I gave up? Would it matter, if I just stood by and did nothing?

 

Rose: Well, if you didn’t stop dad, then I guess that eventually Heaven would come down to Earth and stop him, instead.

 

Dameon: Then you’re saying it wouldn’t matter if I quit?

 

Rose: I didn’t say that. If Heaven came down to Earth to send Hell back, I doubt that dad would give up without a fight. He would force Hell’s army to fight Heaven’s army and Earth would become one big battle ground. Then the humans would get caught up in the battle and would, most likely, be killed. There would be casualties on both sides of the war and the world would be consumed by chaos.

 

(She looks at Dameon, who is now more confused than ever before.)

 

Rose: But, that doesn’t mean I want our dad to die, either. I’d like to talk some sense in to him, as difficult as that might be.

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Katie is walking toward the woods, when she sees Skar coming out from behind the trees.)

 

Katie: What happened?

 

Skar: This is your fault, you know.

 

Katie: What are you talking about?

 

Skar: You hugged him too much.

 

Katie: So, you’re saying I shouldn’t have hugged him?

 

Skar: That’s exactly what I’m saying! You should have spanked him when he talked back and lights out by 8:30!

 

Katie: What the hell are you babbling about?

 

Skar: I don’t even know, anymore! He’s got me so damn angry! Just, don’t worry about it. I’ll be back later, I’ve got shit to do.

 

(Skar leaps into the sky and flies off.)

CHAPTER 11:

 

EXT. BLACK CASTLE-MIDDAY

 

(A small settlement, still in progress, has been built behind the Black Castle. Chief and his villagers are all standing behind the castle, with their arms and legs chained together. Beside each and every villager is a demon. Chief is kneeling at the front of the group, with Samuel standing before him. Many demons are gathered around, waiting for the execution.

 

Samuel: We are gathered here today to witness the execution of Chief and the members of his tribe. They are charged with treachery and the kidnapping of Lord Giovanni’s son, Kyren.

 

(Giovanni is watching the execution from the safety of his throne room. Samuel steps forward and kneels to look Chief in the eyes. Chief looks up to reveal that his face has been brutally beaten.)

 

Samuel: Why? Why would you betray your own brethren?

 

Chief: I… I am n-not the one… who has betrayed you. He h-has… deceived us all. He m-murdered his own… nephew! He banished Lord Skar!

 

(Chief coughs blood, with no strength left to speak. Samuel looks at Chief in confusion.)

 

Giovanni: SAMUEL! HURRY IT ALONG!

 

(Samuel, hesitantly, stands up and draws his blade. The other demons all follow his lead and draw their weapons.)

 

Samuel: Lord Skar committed suicide years ago. How dare you speak ill of his name!

 

(Samuel decapitates Chief. The other demons follow and execute the villagers. Samuel and the demons release dark energy from the palms of their hands, incinerating the bodies. The audience disperses and makes their way to the nearby town that is being built. Skar is standing atop the nearby cliff, watching helplessly. He turns around and flies away.)

 

INT. HIDDEN CAVE-EVENING

 

(Dameon and Rose are asleep on the cavern floor. Katie is sitting at the table, unable to sleep. Skar walks in and sits down at the table. He clasps his hands over his face, resting his elbows on the table.)

 

Katie: You were gone for a while. Are you okay?

 

(Skar takes his hands off of his face.)

 

Skar: No, I’m not okay. Chief and the villagers are all dead. Giovanni ordered their execution.

 

(Katie’s eyes widen and she puts her hand over her mouth.)

 

Skar: I felt so helpless. He helped me even after Giovanni banished me and I didn’t do a damn thing to help him.

 

(Tears rolls down Skar’s cheeks. He covers his face in embarrassment. Dameon lies awake on the floor with tears in his eyes, as well.)

 

INT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Skar wakes up and rubs his eyes. He yawns and then stretches. He stands up and cracks his back. He picks up a nearby water bottle and takes a drink. He looks over at Dameon’s cot, but Dameon isn’t there. He hurries out of the cave and looks around, frantically. Dameon sprints up from the woods, drenched in sweat.)

 

Dameon: Morning!

 

Skar: …Morning.

 

Dameon: You ready to start?

 

(Dameon walks past Skar and picks up a nearby bottle of water. He opens it and begins to chug the water.)

 

Skar: It seems you already have.

 

(Skar sets the water bottle down on a nearby boulder.)

 

Dameon: I couldn’t sleep, so I figured I’d get a little warm up in.

 

Skar: You realize that doesn’t get you out of our warm-up run, right?

 

Dameon: I was hoping it wouldn’t.

 

(Dameon and Skar smile at each other. They hurry into the woods.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Skar and Dameon sprint up to the cave.)

 

Dameon: Whew! I was pretty close that time!

 

(Dameon picks up two water bottles. He hands Skar one and drinks from the other.)

 

Skar: I really ought a quit smoking!

 

(Skar chugs down his water. Dameon sets down his water and hurries over to the uprooted tree, lying nearby.)

 

Skar: Take a break, kiddo.

 

Dameon: Nah, I’m fine.

 

Skar: No, seriously. Even the strongest warriors need to stop and take a break.

 

(Dameon turns around and looks at Skar for a moment. He drops the tree and walks over, sitting down next to Skar.)

 

Skar: I have some bad news… Chief is… he died. He was executed for helping us.

 

Dameon: Yeah… I know. I heard you and mom talking about it last night.

 

Skar: You were awake? Is that why you decided to start training again?

 

Dameon: That’s part of it. It just helped me realize that I was being selfish. Chief gave his life to help us. He knew that dad needed to be stopped and he did what he knew was right. If I don’t finish this then a lot of people are going to get hurt. Their death would be my fault, just as much as it would be my dad’s.

 

Skar: Well said. You’ve got a good head on your shoulders, kiddo.

 

Dameon: Before we get back to training, I wanted to know if you would tell me a little about Chief. He helped me… and I knew nothing about him.

 

Skar: Well, I’ll tell you what I know. Chief had been serving Hell ever since he was born. You see back when Lucifer, the archangel, had been cast out of Heaven, he had amassed an army of angels to combat Heaven. But, not only did his army consist of fallen angels it consisted of fallen men. Chief’s father was the leader of the village you stayed in. He feared God and craved power. So he made a deal with Lucifer. In return for power, he and his people would serve Hell for the rest of eternity. They were granted dark energy and immortality. They began to age like demons and could only be killed in battle. Eventually, Chief’s father died in Ragnarok, the Great War between Heaven and Hell. Chief assumed control over what was left of his village and has been serving Hell ever since. But, he was a much better man than his father. When he found out the truth about my banishment he could not believe the lies Giovanni spread to his people. So he secretly decided to help me overthrow Giovanni.

 

Dameon: Wow, he didn’t even have a choice in how he wanted to live his life. His father had already made that decision for him.

 

Skar: Yeah, but Chief never seemed to let that get to him. He lived each and every day… with a smile on his face.

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-EVENING

 

(Dameon is slinging dark energy bolts into the air. He is drenched in sweat, but doesn’t stop. He turns and kicks the air, releasing a burst of dark energy from his foot.)

 

Skar: Alright, Dameon. You’ve done very well today. You can come on in and hit the sack.

 

Dameon: If it’s alright, huff, huff, I’d like to keep training.

 

Skar: If you think you’ve still got the energy then go right ahead. But let me warn you that when a demon dies on Earth then they go to Hell and if they die in Hell then they go to a place called the Other Realm. However, if you use up all of your dark energy and try to force out more of it, your soul will be ripped apart. If your soul has been destroyed then you won’t go anywhere. You’ll just cease to exist.

 

Dameon: …I think I’ll be fine, but I won’t be out here too much longer.

 

(Skar smiles at Dameon.)

 

Skar: Alright, I’m going to turn in early, so I’ll see you in the morning.

 

Dameon: See you.

 

INT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Skar is sound asleep in his bed, when he hears a massive explosion. His eyes bolt open and he sits up. He hurries outside to see Dameon kneeling next to the edge of the nearby cliff.)

 

Skar: Dameon! What was that noise?!

 

(Skar hurries over and looks out over the cliff. There is a massive dark energy filled crater below the cliff, approximately a mile wide and 50 feet deep.)

 

Skar: What happened?!

 

Dameon: I-I did it…

 

(Dameon drops on his stomach and passes out. Skar looks at Dameon in amazement.)

 

Skar: You did this…

 

INT. HIDDEN CAVE-MORNING

 

(Dameon wakes up on his bed, inside the cave. He slowly sits up and clutches his head, in pain.)

 

Skar: Hey, you’re finally awake!

 

Dameon: Yeah, what time is it?

 

Skar: Don’t worry about it, we aren’t training today.

 

Dameon: Why not?

 

Skar: Try to stand up.

 

(Dameon looks confused, but follows Skar’s suggestion. Dameon slowly tries to stand up. He gets about halfway up and flops over.)

 

Skar: That’s why.

 

(Skar helps Dameon up and guides him back to his cot.)

 

Dameon: What the hell’s wrong with my legs?!

 

Skar: Hahahaha! Don’t worry about it. It happens every time.

 

Dameon: Every time?

 

Skar: You remember how the other day I told you that you would die, if you used up all of your dark energy? Well, that’s because dark energy is vital for a demon to survive. Last night you used up too much of your dark energy and you passed out. Well, now your body is running on close to empty and is reacting to this loss of energy. You’ll be dizzy for a while and you won’t be able to stand for the rest of the day.

 

Dameon: Dammit!

 

Skar: Just be careful the next time you’re training. You need to work hard, but if you overwork yourself, you’ll have to suffer the consequences. I’ve got to say though; I’m quite impressed. That crater you made outside takes quite a bit of power! You were able to generate that much energy, even at the end of a hard day of training. I was a little worried about you facing Giovanni when we started training, but I don’t think I have anything to worry about anymore.

 

(Skar picks up a water bottle and hands it to Dameon.)

 

Dameon: Thank. That means a lot coming from you.

 

Skar: Don’t thank me, thank your mother. She’s part of the reason you have so much power.

 

Dameon: Really?

 

Skar: Yep. You see, dark energy is a very destructive force. Alternatively, holy energy is a very concentrated and focused force. For the last seventeen years of your life, your mother has kept you powers sealed away. When a demon has their energy sealed, it sits unused and concentrates upon itself. It slowly gains that extra aspect that makes holy energy special and becomes far more powerful than before.

 

Dameon: Then wouldn’t it have been easier to have just sealed my energy for the next month?

 

Skar: It would have made your dark energy become much more powerful. But, at the same time you wouldn’t be able to use and become familiar with it. This month of training will benefit you far more than had we sealed it. You know it’s actually pretty funny. Around the time that you started kindergarten, your power had grown to be too powerful for your mother to keep it sealed on her own.

 

Dameon: That young?

 

Skar: Hahahaha, yeah. At the time I was still living in Hell. I had found out where you and your mom were hiding, but I didn’t tell Giovanni. I had been helping out your mom here and there and she told me that you were becoming too powerful for her to keep your power under control. So, I gave her a watch with a seal cast on it that would keep your power sealed when you wore it. She gave it to you as a present and said you never took it off.

 

Dameon: That makes sense! That’s why my power surfaced at school. So then that watch wasn’t really a present from my dad?

 

Skar: No.

 

Dameon: She was right. I wore that watch as much as I could. Just thinking that my dad had left me something before he died made it worth so much to me. What’s weird is that even now, I know it’s not from him and it still means so much to me… because now I know who it’s really from.

 

(Skar smiles at Dameon’s words of appreciation.)

 

INT. LIMBO-?

 

(Giovanni is standing in a distorted wasteland overlooking a river. In front of him is a demon who is wearing a long black torn cloak. The demon removes his hood to reveal that he is a living skeleton.)

 

Death: What are you doing here, Giovanni?

 

Giovanni: I apologize for my intrusion, Gabriel.

 

Gabriel: You know that my name is no longer Gabriel! I am Death, but a mere shell of my former self.

 

Giovanni: My apologies. I just wanted to inquire about getting your help with exterminating a certain individual.

 

Death: I have felt the wrath of God once before and I do not intend to feel it again.

 

Giovanni: You will not have to, my friend.

 

Death: What makes you so sure?!

 

Giovanni: I am planning a war against Heaven. If I win you won’t ever have to deal with that so-called God ever again.

 

Death: What makes you so sure you could confront the power of God, if you need MY help to kill someone?

 

Giovanni: I am not denying that this will be a difficult battle, but I am confident in the strength of my army.

 

Death: So was Lucifer! He tricked us all into following the same foolish path you are about to walk! Do you not see what that brought him?! What it brought his followers?! I now suffer because of his treachery!

 

Giovanni: But, you will not have to suffer any longer.

I know how much you detest serving in Limbo. If you will help me with this war, when I become the new God, I will release you from here. You will be free once more. I will also return you to your original form. You will once again be known as… Gabriel.

 

Death: Why should I trust you?!

 

Giovanni: Lucifer may not have won against Heaven’s army, but I will not repeat his mistakes. He had a small group of broken followers. My army is much larger and more powerful than his.

 

Death: Hahahaha! You obviously do not know the kind of power Lucifer possessed. I doubt your entire army could even come close to the power that Lucifer, alone, possessed.

 

Giovanni: Perhaps. But, Heaven’s army has grown weak. They have enjoyed the fruits of peace for many years. My army has been under constant torture and hardship. My warriors have grown stronger than you could imagine. For instance, do you remember my boy, Neyon?

 

Death: …Of course. How could I forget?

 

Giovanni: He has grown to be one of Hell’s greatest warriors. I’m confident that he, alone, could crush the entirety of Heaven’s army.

 

Death: Such arrogance may lead to your downfall, Giovanni!

 

Giovanni: Neyon has an advantage that will greatly benefit my army, in this coming war.

 

Death: What might that be?

 

Giovanni: He is… immortal.

 

Death: How is such a thing possible?!

 

Giovanni: He is made of a black mist. This mist is a potent substance that cannot be touched without holy or dark energy. Even, then it cannot be destroyed. He is, in essence, immortal. However he is my trump card and I do not intend to have him brought to Earth until after the war has begun.

 

Death: …You have piqued my interests, Giovanni. Tell me then… who would you like me to kill?

 

Giovanni: You remember my brother, Skar?

 

Death: Of course. I could never forget such an infuriating person!

 

Giovanni: Good. I want you to kill him.

 

Death: Hahahaha! It would be my pleasure!

CHAPTER 12:

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-MIDDAY

 

Dameon: We only have about a week until my training’s over and I haven’t actually learned how to fight? Don’t you think that’ll be important?

 

Skar: No, because Giovanni doesn’t know how to fight either. All you need to be able to do is dodge his attacks and counter him and if you can’t do that then survive his attacks. So, what we’ve been focusing on is your speed, strength, and endurance. Those are the three things you’ll need the most when you fight him. Luckily, your strengths are your speed and your large amount of dark energy. You should be able to outlast Giovanni in a drawn out battle. Giovanni has the advantage in strength. He may not be very intelligent or quick, but he can hit pretty hard.

 

Dameon: If he can hit pretty hard then don’t you think I should work on playing keep away?

 

Skar: Huh?

 

Dameon: Shouldn’t I play keep away? You know, fight him from far away. Hit him at long range?

 

Skar: Giovanni will force you to fight up close, because that is what he’s good at. So you’ll need to learn to beat him at his own game. Besides, you’ll most likely be fighting him within his castle. You won’t have much room to fight him from far away. Alright, breaks over back to training.

 

(Dameon gets into push-up position. Skar sets the tree on Dameon’s back. He climbs up on Dameon’s back and sits down on the trees. Dameon’s body glows with dark energy as he performs one push up after the other. The scenes cycle through Dameon’s daily training exercises. He races Skar through the woods and leaves him in the dust. He deflects and blocks each and every one of Skar’s dark bolts in rapid succession. At the end, Dameon is practicing with his dark energy and shows improvement and speed in his movements and strength.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Skar and Dameon are sitting at the table which has been moved outside of the cave. They are laughing and appear to be having a good time.)

 

Skar: Tomorrow we’ll be on our way to the Black Castle. Are you sure you’re ready?

 

Dameon: I guess it doesn’t really matter whether or not I’m ready. A lot of people are depending on me. But… I will admit that I am pretty nervous.

 

Skar: Yeah, that’s to be expected.

 

Dameon: Uncle Skar?

 

Skar: Yeah, kiddo.

 

Dameon: I wanted to thank you. I never thought very highly of myself. I just didn’t think that my life had any real meaning or impact. No one, other than mom of course, ever seemed to care. But, you… you never gave up on me. I could tell that you really cared. Recently, I’ve started thinking a lot higher of myself.

 

(A tear starts to roll down Dameon’s cheek. He quickly rubs it away and stands up.)

 

Dameon: Uh, I’m going to go hit the sack. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate all you’ve done for me. This last month… it’s been the best time of my life.

 

(Dameon walks back into the cave. Skar stays seated at the table and after a moment of staring at the table… he smiles.)

 

INT. HIDDEN CAVE-MIDNIGHT

 

(Dameon and Rose are asleep on the floor.)

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE

 

(Skar and Katie are sitting at the table. There is a lit candle sitting on the table.)

 

Skar: So, tomorrow’s the big day.

 

Katie: …I’m scared.

 

Skar: You shouldn’t be. He’ll be fine.

 

Katie: Can you guarantee that? Are you 100% sure that my son will walk out of there alive?

 

Skar: …No. But, I have faith in him. I’ve seen him progress this past month and it’s astonishing how powerful he’s become.

 

Katie: You’re insane if you think one month can compare to Giovanni’s lifetime of experience!

 

Skar: I do think that. I’ve known my brother my whole life. I helped train him. I’ve known Dameon for a month and I have confidence that Giovanni won’t stand a chance.

 

Katie: But, does he have confidence in himself? You believe in him, but he’s about to face his father! Do you think he can go through with that?! You weren’t there when he would cry himself to sleep, asking me “Why don’t I have a daddy?” You weren’t there! And neither was Giovanni!

 

(Katie puts her hands over her face. Skar gets up and sits down in the chair next to her. He puts his hand on her shoulder and she wraps her arms around him. Skar’s face fills with pain, as he pats her on the back.)

 

Katie: He doesn’t deserve this! He shouldn’t have to do this!

 

Skar: …I know.

 

EXT. HIDDEN CAVE-MIDDAY

 

(Dameon, Rose, Skar and Katie walk out from the cave. They take a moment to look at their surroundings. Skar walks over to Dameon.)

 

Skar: Hey, do you mind stepping over here for a second? I want to talk to you.

 

Dameon: Yeah, sure.

 

(They step away from Katie and Rose and sit down on a boulder.)

 

Skar: I wanted to ask you, if you’re okay with going through with this?

 

Dameon: Don’t you think this is a little late…

 

Skar: No. It’s not too late. If you don’t want to do this, I don’t want to force you. This is a heavy burden and you shouldn’t be forced to carry it.

 

Dameon: This is my burden and I will carry it. I didn’t spend the last month working my ass off to give up. Thanks for your concern, though.

 

(Dameon hops up and walks back over to Katie and Rose.)

 

EXT. OUTSKIRTS OF HELL

 

(Dameon, Rose, Skar and Katie are flying over the ocean, when they notice that the color is starting to turn red.)

 

Skar: HELL’S TERRITORY IS ALREADY MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE OCEAN!!!!!

 

(Dameon speeds up, to the surprise of the rest of the team. They speed up to keep up with him.)

 

INT. HELL

 

(Death is relaxing next to a palm tree. He suddenly notices the team’s dark energy making its way toward him. He quickly stands up and stares into the sky. He sees the four soar past him and leaps into the air to give chase.)

 

Skar: WE’RE ALMOST THERE!

 

(Skar looks back and sees Death, giving chase.)

 

Skar: LOOKS LIKE WE’VE GOT COMPANY!

 

(They all look back and see Death. Death speeds up and tries to stab his scythe into Skar’s back. Skar rolls onto his back and kicks the scythe away. He quickly hits Death in the face with a bolt of dark energy. Death spirals to the ground. Skar and the others descend to the ground to deal with the current threat. Death rises to his feet, as if nothing had happened.)

 

Skar: We’re not getting anywhere, until we take him down. Dameon and Rose; I want you two to go on ahead. You guys deal with Giovanni. Katie and I will handle this one.

 

(Dameon nods his head and turns to leave. Skar grabs his shoulder, stopping him.)

 

Skar: Remember, what I told you Dameon. If your power isn’t strong enough to take down Giovanni, you need to release. You won’t be able to access all of your power at all times. Some of it is locked away.

 

(Dameon smiles at Skar’s words.)

 

Dameon: Don’t worry, I can handle this.

 

(Dameon and Rose leap into the sky and fly away.)

 

Death: Hahahaha! You expect that runt to take down Giovanni! You’re judgment must be slipping, you old cod!

 

Skar: Old? Come one, you’re older than I am!

 

(Death leaps at Skar, with his scythe ready. Skar ducks and then punches Death in the stomach. Death’s bones split and he falls to the ground.)

 

Skar: Get up! We both know you’re fine!

 

(Death’s bones reattach themselves and he slowly rises, towering over Skar.)

 

Death: You are much more powerful than I remember.

 

Skar: Thank you! You’re, uh…uglier than I remember. Kind of decrepit and…

 

Death: I still see that you’re quite the “comedian.”

 

Skar: Are we done reminiscing, yet?

 

(Death glares at Skar and tries to slice him with his scythe. Skar ducks to dodge the lethal blow. Death quickly turns his scythe and tries to catch Skar off guard, but Skar merely leaps over the scythe. Skar flies over Death’s head and lands behind him. He crushes the side of Death’s face with the back of his hand. Then he smashes his back with his foot. Skar jumps into the air and brings the heel of his foot down upon Death’s skull. He continues the assault breaking down Death’s body. Death’s bones lie on the ground, broken apart. The bones lift from the ground and hit Skar. They slice up his body and reassemble behind him. Death readies his scythe and goes to attack Skar.)

 

Skar: Release!

 

(A burst of dark energy emanates from Skar’s body. Death collapses to the ground, as if the Earth’s gravity had multiplied 10 fold. He struggles to get up, but seems to be pinned to the ground by the sheer force of Skar’s released energy. Skar looks over to see that Katie is also pinned to the ground.)

 

Skar: Hold on, Katie! I’ll make this quick!

 

(Skar looks back at Death and holds out his hand. His hand charges with dark energy.)

 

Death: Such power! You were nowhere near this powerful, last I saw you!

 

Skar: A lot’s changed since then, pal.

 

(Skar releases a massive bolt of dark energy, which incinerates Death and the ground beneath him. The released dark energy surrounding Skar dies down and he slumps to the ground. Katie, slowly gets up, covered in a cold sweat. She runs over and helps Skar up.)

 

Skar: Releasing my energy sure does take a lot out of me! We’d better hurry up and catch up to the children.

 

(Skar and Katie leap into the sky and fly away.)

 

Katie: I THOUGHT YOU SAID WE WERE GOING TO HANDLE HIM?! YOU DID ALL THE WORK!

 

Skar: YOU COULD’VE JUMPED IN AT ANY TIME… JUST SAYING.

CHAPTER 13: 

 

EXT. THE BLACK CASTLE

 

(Rose and Dameon are standing at the foot of the castle, staring up to the top.)

 

Rose: He’s usually at the top, in his throne room. Dameon… I’m not sure how I feel about taking on our father.

 

Dameon: Don’t worry. I just want to talk to him. If that doesn’t work then I’ll handle it. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. But, I promise you. I won’t kill him.

 

(Rose smiles at Dameon’s words. They both leap up and ascend to the throne room. They enter through the window and see Giovanni, sitting on his throne.)

 

EXT. THE BLACK CASTLE

 

(Skar and Katie land at the foot of the castle. Soon after they land a group of demons, led by Samuel, leap down from the sky. Samuel sees Katie and Skar and is consumed by confusion.)

 

Samuel: Lord Skar?! You’re alive?!

 

Skar: Samuel! It’s been a long time, buddy!

 

(Skar reaches out and shakes Samuel’s hand. He locks the handshake and tries to be cool, bumping his fist and adding extra shit to the handshake.)

 

Skar: It’s what the human kids do, yo! I like that word, yo!

 

(The demons behind Samuel murmur with excitement and confusion.)

 

Samuel: I don’t understand. Lord Giovanni told us that you were dead. He said that you had committed suicide!

 

Skar: I’m sorry to tell you that my brother hasn’t been very honest with you all. He banished me, when I found out that he was behind the death of my son.

 

Samuel: Lord Giovanni ordered Wraith to be killed?! I can’t believe this. I killed Chief and all he tried to do was tell me the truth. …He plans to wage war against God. He wants to rule over Heaven, Hell, and Earth. I had my doubts about following him through this, but now I don’t want to serve him at all. He lied to us, he betrayed us, and now he’s using us. What do we do Lord Skar?

 

Skar: You won’t have to do anything. It’s already being taken care of.

 

INT. BLACK CASTLE THRONE ROOM

 

(Giovanni stands up from his throne.)

 

Giovanni: Rose…how could you betray me?

 

Rose: I haven’t betrayed you!

 

Giovanni: And you! You dare come here, without your horns! You expect to defeat me without your horns!

 

Dameon: Dad, we’re not here to fight with you.

 

(Giovanni glares at Dameon.)

 

Giovanni: You are no son, of mine. You actually thought you could even come close to my power, without even having your horns! I will show you what it means to insult me!

 

(Giovanni removes his shirt and lays it on his throne.)

 

Dameon: I’m just here to talk! Fighting won’t solve anything!

 

(Giovanni ignores his son and launches himself at Dameon, with his fist ready. In an instant, Giovanni is in their faces. Dameon crushes Giovanni’s face against his knee. He backhands Giovanni’s face, sending him soaring across the room. Dameon rushes toward Giovanni.)

 

Rose: He reacted so quickly! Dad was here in an instant, but Dameon just knocked him away, like it was nothing!

 

(Giovanni slides across the ground, but catches his balance.)

 

Dameon: I’m trying to talk to you!

 

(Giovanni tries to punch Dameon, but Dameon does a couple of back flips and leaps up to the wall on the far side of the room. Giovanni leaps at the wall in an attempt to punch Dameon. Dameon does a back flip, up the wall, dodging his punch. Giovanni’s fist smashes through the wall and gets stuck. He tries to pull it out, as Dameon falls from the wall. Giovanni’s hand ignites with dark energy in order to try and remove his hand from the wall, but he’s not quick enough to get out of the wall before Dameon reaches him. On Dameon’s way to the ground, he grabs Giovanni’s ponytail and yanks him from the wall. He slams Giovanni into the ground, crushing the floor beneath him. Dameon leaps at Giovanni, but he puts up a shield to block Dameon. Dameon bounces off of the dark energy sphere and Giovanni gets up and punches Dameon in the face, busting his lip. Dameon dodges his next punch and uses his speed to get behind Giovanni. He jumps and rebounds off of Giovanni’s back. Still in mid-air he unleashes a flurry of needles made of dark energy at Giovanni’s back. Giovanni slumps onto one knee, in pain. He fights through the pain and gets up, rushing Dameon, who is now descending to the ground. Rose quickly flings her chain knife into Giovanni’s back and pumps his body full of holy lightning. Dameon hits the ground and leaps away, putting some distance between himself and Giovanni. He puts out his hand and adds in his dark lightning. Giovanni is paralyzed in pain, from the combined attack.)

 

Giovanni: Re…lease!

 

(A burst of dark energy emits from Giovanni’s body. Rose collapses on one knee and her holy lightning disappears. Dameon breaks out in a cold sweat, but stands tall still pumping Giovanni full of dark lightning. Giovanni’s back flexes, releasing dark energy, to force Rose’s knife out of his back. He rushes toward Dameon, despite the dark lightning hitting his body. Dameon stops his assault and makes a break for the wall behind him. He runs up the wall and leaps off of it. He turns in mid-air and thrusts his heel into Giovanni’s head. He spins in the air and kicks Giovanni in the side of the face. Dameon lands on the ground and swings his foot up and kicks Giovanni in the chest causing him to stumble back and crash through the wall. After, he hits the wall he rebounds and stumbles back toward Dameon. Dameon punches him in the face, drawing blood from Giovanni’s cheek and Dameon’s knuckles. Dameon lets loose a flurry of punches to Giovanni’s chest and stomach, pushing him closer and closer to the edge of the castle. Giovanni’s chest bruises up and Dameon busts his chest open in multiple spots, drawing blood. Giovanni’s feet reach the edge of the castle and he struggles to not fall out. Dameon rears back his fist and charges it full of dark energy. Giovanni takes advantage of this moment of hesitation and swings his foot up, kicking Dameon in the chest. Time seems to stop as Giovanni charges dark energy into his foot. He releases the energy, causing a large explosion of dark energy to surround Dameon. Dameon flies out of the smoke and dust, with his shirt nearly torn apart and a few holes in his shorts. In an instant, Giovanni rushes over and grabs Dameon’s face.)

 

Giovanni: YOU DARE BREAK MY CASTLE!

 

(Giovanni thrusts Dameon into the ground, sending him falling down to the lowest floor of the castle.)

 

Giovanni: That little brat had me in such a rage… now I have to fix the goddamn floor! I’ll kill him!

 

(Rose plunges her chain knife into his back and swings him around, slamming him into the ground. Giovanni falls to the ground floor of the castle. He looks across the room to see Dameon, surging with dark energy. Dameon rushes at Giovanni. Giovanni unsheathes his blade and launches it like a harpoon from his arm. Dameon spins and dodges the blade. As he runs toward Giovanni he charges dark energy into the tips of his fingers and slices the chain linking his blade to his arm in half. He continues to run toward Giovanni. Giovanni, already tired and beaten from the battle, attempts to punch Dameon. Dameon slides underneath his punch and circles around behind him. He kicks him in the back launching him through the roof. Dameon immediately leaps through the hole in the roof to continue the battle. When he gets up to the throne room, Giovanni launches a surprise attack and tries to stab Dameon with a blade, made of dark energy. However, Rose jumps in the way and is stabbed in the stomach. Blood runs from Rose’s mouth.)

 

Dameon: No! Rose!

 

(Giovanni flings Rose aside and rushes at Dameon.)

 

Giovanni: Look at what you’ve done to my castle!

 

(Dameon is horrified by Giovanni’s words.)

 

Dameon: Your castle?! YOUR CASTLE?! You just stabbed your own daughter and all you can think about is your castle?!

 

(Dameon dodges Giovanni’s blade and grabs his arm, throwing him down the hole in the ground. Dameon leaps down the hole. As he is dropping, Giovanni slings bolts of dark energy at Dameon. Dameon blocks them with his arms. Dameon thinks about the people that Giovanni’s hurt: Chief, Rose, Katie and Skar. Tears escape Dameon’s eyes as he charges dark energy into his fist.)

 

Dameon: I DON’T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR GODDAMN CASTLE!

 

(Giovanni stops and floats just above the ground of his castle. Dameon rears his fist back and punches Giovanni in the stomach. Giovanni crashes to the ground and all of Dameon’s charged up dark energy releases. The energy explodes outward, tearing apart the castle. Skar, Katie, Samuel and the other demons all leap away and defend themselves from the explosion.)

 

Samuel: What the hell’s going on in there?!

 

Katie: What happened?!

 

Skar: I don’t know! I can’t see a damn thing!

 

(They look up to see Rose falling to the ground. Katie flies up and catches her, bringing her to the ground. Rose sits and attempts to heal her wound with her holy energy. The smoke clears and Dameon is standing over Giovanni’s beaten body.)

 

Samuel: Who… is that?!

 

Skar: That would be Giovanni’s son, Kyren. But, you can call him Dameon.

 

Dameon: Now that I finally have your attention…

 

Giovanni: You stupid child! You actually think you’ve defeated me!

 

(Giovanni’s body surges with dark energy.)

 

Skar: NO! DAMEON YOU HAVE TO BREAK HIS HORNS, NOW!

 

(Dameon quickly reaches for Giovanni’s horns, but Giovanni unleashes a burst of dark energy, knocking Dameon away. Giovanni rises and begins a horrific transformation. His body grows to insane heights. He grows wings and his skin turns a grayish-black. His pupils roll into the back of his head and his legs sink into the ground. His teeth sharpen and his ears point at the top. His hair disappears and is replaced by fire. He looks down upon Dameon and lets out a furious and defeaning roar.)

 

Katie: DAMEON! RUN!

 

(Rose coughs blood as she continues to heal.)

 

Rose: Katie, stop. If you run in there, you’ll only get yourself killed. Dameon knows what he’s doing. He hasn’t even released, yet.

 

Katie: He defeated Giovanni, without releasing?!

 

(Devil Giovanni raises his hand above his head. He brings his hand down, in an attempt to crush Dameon. Dameon erects a dark sphere barrier, deflecting Devil Giovanni’s hand. He continues to try and break through Dameon’s shield. Each time, Dameon’s barrier flickers and seems to get weaker.)

 

Dameon: AAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHH! RELEASE!

The suspense!  Great job!

CHAPTER 14:  

 

(Devil Giovanni rears his arm back and tries to attack the shield once more. But, the massive release of Dameon’s dark energy slows him down. Devil Giovanni, eventually, brings his hand down against Dameon’s buffed up barrier. Dameon unleashes dark energy through the shield, which slices up Devil Giovanni’s arm. Devil Giovanni pulls his hand back, in pain. Dameon leaps into the air and creates a blade made of dark energy. He attempts to slice his horns off, but Devil Giovanni erects a barrier around his horns, protecting himself from Dameon. Dameon flies around Devil Giovanni’s body and hits him with flurries of dark energy bolts. Devil Giovanni attempts to swat at Dameon, but keeps missing. Dameon dodges, dives and rolls out of the way of his attacks. He rushes at the flickering barrier around Devil Giovanni’s horns and punches it. The barrier nearly fades, but Devil Giovanni adds more dark energy to the barrier. Dameon flies by his face and cuts his cheek open. Devil Giovanni, instinctively swats his face, in pain. Dameon lands on his shoulder and stabs it, then turns and slices the side of his neck. The barrier flickers, as Devil Giovanni’s attention is averted to his injuries. Dameon continues to fly around Devil Giovanni and cut him up, little by little. Devil Giovanni slows down, from the continuous assault. Dameon quickly takes advantage of this and flies up to his horns. He punches the flickering barrier, shattering it. He adds more dark energy to his blade, increasing its size and hacks through the base of Devil Giovanni’s horns. Devil Giovanni’s body begins to fade. Giovanni appears, floating in the air, where Devil Giovanni’s chest once was. He crashes to the ground, almost completely depleted of energy. He lays on the ground for a moment, but only a moment. He turns on his stomach and presses his hands to the ground. He slowly lifts his body off the ground and cries out in pain. He puts one knee on the ground, supporting his body. He puts the other knee on the ground, and breathes heavily. He slowly lifts his left leg and places his foot on the ground. He coughs blood and then steps up on his right foot. He stands up, but his arms hang at his side, limp. He lifts his head, only for Dameon to swoop in and land a crushing blow to his face. Giovanni falls on his back, defeated. Dameon tumbles to the ground, but manages to barely catch his balance and land on his left leg, after a few rolls. Dameon slows his breathing and walks over to Giovanni’s barely conscious body. He sits down next to his father and sighs.)

 

Dameon: I didn’t want it to come to this…

 

(Dameon looks away from his father and takes a moment to collect his thoughts.)

 

Dameon: I was 5 years old and it was my first day of kindergarten. I was so excited… but, you wouldn’t know that. I looked around at all the other kids and noticed that they had a mom, just like me. But, there was someone else there with them… a dad. I didn’t understand, so I asked one of the other kids: “Who’s that?” He said: “That’s my dad! Don’t you have one?” So, I asked my mom: “What’s a dad… and why don’t I have one?” I didn’t see it then, but she was at a loss for words. I mean, what do you tell your son, when he asks a question like that? So, she told me that not every kid, had a dad and to not worry, because I had her and she loved me. When I was older she told me that you had died, of a heart attack, before I was born. She lied… she lied to protect me from you. To protect me from my own father!

 

(Dameon pauses for a moment, in order to calm down.)

 

Dameon: I just wanted you there. Why weren’t you there?

 

(Giovanni stays silent.)

 

Dameon: I asked you a question… Answer me!

 

Giovanni: You’re pathetic. If you want to call me your father, at least show some pride or honor. Family and friends… you don’t need them. They only betray you. You’ve already defeated me. Just kill me and let’s be done with this.

 

Dameon: I used to call you my father but not anymore.

 

(Dameon stands up and points at Skar.)

 

Dameon: That’s a father. He is a father! You… I don’t know what you are… and I guess I never will.

 

(Dameon turns and walks away from Giovanni.)

 

Giovanni: Where are you going?!

 

(Dameon ignores Giovanni and continues to make his way toward Skar.)

 

Giovanni: You arrogant little firetruck! You dare humiliate me… and then show me mercy!

 

(Giovanni flexes his arms. Dark energy flickers around his legs. His legs ignite with dark energy. He slowly rises, using his dark energy to replace his broken bones. Giovanni holds out his arm and his hand glows with dark energy.)

 

Skar: Dameon, look out!

 

(Dameon turns only to be knocked away by Giovanni’s dark energy bolt. Katie quickly gets up and runs toward Giovanni and Dameon.)

 

Katie: Dameon!

 

(Giovanni turns and releases an extended hand, made of dark energy, from his arm. The hand grabs Katie’s throat and begins to choke the life out of her. He pulls her toward himself.)

 

Giovanni: THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!

 

Dameon: NOOOOO!!!

 

(Dameon releases a flurry of dark energy bolts at Giovanni, but Giovanni musters up enough dark energy to barely block them with a barrier.)

 

Dameon: PUT HER DOWN!!!!

 

(Samuel charges his blade full of dark energy and releases it, cutting Giovanni’s arm off. Giovanni’s dark energy disappears and Katie falls to the ground, gasping for air. Samuel runs over and helps Katie up. Giovanni turns to face Dameon, who is running full speed, at Giovanni. Giovanni slings a dark energy bolt at Dameon, but Dameon just runs into it and instead of slowing down, he speeds up.)

 

Giovanni: Stay back!

 

(Giovanni stumbles back, but in an instant Dameon tackles him to the ground and lets loose a flurry of punches to Giovanni’s face. Dameon cries in rage, as he pummels his father to death. Dark energy pours out of Dameon’s body, uncontrollably. Skar presses his hands to the invisible barrier around the castle grounds. Suddenly, Skar’s hands phase through the barrier. Skar looks at his hands, in confusion.)

 

Skar: Dameon! Stop, he’s dead!

 

(Dameon ignores Skar and continues his assault on Giovanni’s lifeless body.)

 

Skar: It’s over, Dameon! STOP!

 

(Skar rushes toward Dameon. He reaches Dameon and puts his hand on Dameon’s shoulder. Dameon’s body releases a burst of dark energy, which knocks Skar away. Skar rushes at Dameon and picks him up, flinging him into a remaining piece of the castle.)

 

Skar: What the hell’s your problem?!

 

(Dameon gets up and looks at Skar. Skar sees that Dameon’s eyeballs have been replaced with dark energy.)

 

Kyren: You’re my problem! Each and every one of you! But you won’t be for much longer…

 

DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Dameon is asleep, floating in a dark abyss. Suddenly, he wakes up and looks around, confused. He hears Kyren’s voice.)

 

Kyren: You don’t need any of them, you know. They only use you and lie to you. All you need is yourself.

 

(Kyren steps out of the darkness and faces Dameon.)

 

Kyren: Don’t worry, though. I’ll take care of them.

 

Dameon: If you really are me, then you would know I don’t want that.

 

Kyren: Stop, lying to yourself. Your father hated you, your mother lied to you, your uncle used you, and Rose… she betrayed her own father. What makes you think she won’t do the same to you? All of those demons out there, they worked for your father. Do you think that they will accept you? You killed their leader. In the end, you have no one and need no one.

 

INT. BLACK CASTLE REMAINS

 

(Skar creates a dark energy spear and gets into a battle stance.)

 

Katie: Skar!

 

(Skar looks at Katie.)

 

Skar: Don’t worry, Katie.

 

(Skar turns to look at Kyren.)

 

Skar: I thought you were stronger than this. How could you let yourself be consumed by hatred?

 

Kyren: It’s your fault. You forced this burden on me.

 

Skar: I didn’t force you to do anything. You made this choice all on your own.

 

Kyren: Stop lying! You know I only did this, for you! You used my “daddy” issues against me! You’ve been manipulating me, for your own personal gain! But, not anymore!

 

(The dark energy surrounding Kyren launches itself, seemingly on its own accord, at Skar. Skar deflects it with his spear.)

 

Skar: I didn’t use you for anything. I care about you, as if you were my own son! You should know that!

 

(Kyren’s face fills with rage. He leaps at Skar and clashes his dark blade with Skar’s spear.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSIOUS

 

Kyren: Why don’t you understand, that I’m the only one on your side?! I’m the only one that’s been there, every step of the way!

 

Dameon: No. Mom and Skar, they’ve always been there. I was just too blind to see it. I won’t allow myself to continue making that mistake.

 

(Dameon creates a dark blade and points it toward Kyren. Kyren’s eyes widen, at Dameon’s threat. He creates a dark blade of his own. They leap at each other and clash. Dameon backs off, as Kyren pursues the offensive. Dameon deflects his blade and knocks Kyren away, with a bolt of dark energy. Kyren disappears into the darkness and reappears behind Dameon. Dameon reacts and turns to continue his clash with Kyren.)

 

INT. BLACK CASTLE REMAINS

 

(Skar blocks a sword swipe from Kyren. Kyren tries to circle Skar, but Skar just turns and blocks.)

 

Kyren: You know you aren’t going to get anywhere simply by blocking!

 

Skar: I’m not trying to get anywhere. I won’t attack you.

 

(Kyren is surprised by Skar’s response. But, he quickly resumes his assault. He releases a wave of dark energy, from his blade, which pushes Skar away. Kyren leaps at Skar and knocks away his spear. Kyren cuts Skar across the cheek, but instead of taking the opportunity to strike back at Kyren, he tucks and rolls away.

 

Kyren: You just missed the perfect opportunity to strike me down you know.

 

(Kyren points his blade at Skar.)

 

Kyren: I won’t leave another opening.

 

Skar: I hope not. Otherwise I failed to properly train you.

 

Kyren: Enough with the jokes, old man!

 

(Kyren swings his blade at Skar. But, Skar merely steps to the side and does a back flip. Kyren’s blade disappears and he rushes at Skar. His hand ignites with dark lightning and he attempts to plunge it into Skar’s chest. Skar does a somersault and then grabs Kyren’s outstretched hand, thrusting it into the ground. Kyren’s hand gets stuck in the ground. Skar leaps away, putting some distance between them. Kyren becomes infuriated and releases a massive burst of dark energy from his hand, destroying the ground beneath him.)

 

Skar: Snap out of it, Dameon!

 

Kyren: My name is Kyren! Stop trying to deny who I am!

 

Skar: Who are you?! Answer me that!

 

Kyren: I’m Kyren, a vicious blood-thirsty monster! I’m a murderer! I decimated an entire city, along with its inhabitants! I fell prey to all of the people I believed cared about me! That’s who I am!

 

Skar: No! You’re Dameon, a fierce and courageous warrior! You’re honorable, kind, strong, and intelligent! You fought to help save the millions that your father would have sacrificed! You fought to avenge the many people, your father hurt! You did all of that despite what you were afraid attacking your father might do to you!

 

(Kyren clutches his head, in pain. Kyren yells out in anger, surrounding himself in a terrifying shroud of dark energy. He leaps at Skar, ready to continue his assault.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Kyren punches Dameon in the chest and attempts to cut him with his blade. Dameon grabs the blade with his bare hand, gashing his palm. He punches Kyren in the face. Kyren drops his blade and stumbles back. But, he quickly retaliates with a kick to Dameon’s side. Dameon stumbles sideways, clutching his hip. Kyren recreates his blade and thrusts his sword, downward, at Dameon. Dameon puts up a dark barrier, halting the attack. Kyren fades into the abyss and appears within the barrier, facing Dameon. He head butts Dameon, busting open Dameon’s skull. Dameon clutches his head in pain. Kyren lunges at Dameon and stabs him through in the abdomen. Dameon halts, unable to move.)

 

INT. HELL

 

(Kyren goes to punch Skar, but Skar blocks the attack with his bare hand. Kyren’s dark energy releases from his fist and surrounds the two warriors. Skar uses his dark energy to brush Kyren’s energy, aside. Skar holds Kyren’s fist, trying to keep him still for as long as possible.)

 

Skar: DAMEON, YOU NEED TO STOP THIS!

 

Kyren: MY NAME IS KYREN!!!

 

(Kyren knocks Skar away with a powerful burst of dark energy, emanating from every pore of his body.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Kyren attempts to pull out his blade, but is unable to do so. He inspects the blade and sees that Dameon’s dark energy is holding onto his blade, stopping him from pulling it out. He tries to let go of the blade, but Dameon has forced his dark energy through the blade and wrapped it around Kyren’s hand. Kyren looks down and sees that hands, made of dark energy are coming out of Dameon’s legs and are wrapping themselves around Kyren’s feet. Dameon charges dark energy into his fingertips and quickly slits Kyren’s throat. Kyren slowly begins to fade into the abyss.)

 

Kyren: Why? I was only trying to help. I was… the only one who truly cared.

 

(Kyren reappears, slumped over on his knees just a few steps away.)

CHAPTER 15:

 

INT. HELL

 

(Dameon falls unconscious and Skar catches him. He sets him down, gently. Katie runs over and Samuel and another demon help Rose up who has, for the most part, healed her wound.)

 

INT. DAMEON’S SUBCONSCIOUS

 

(Dameon walks over to Kyren, clutching his wound. Kyren looks up at Dameon.)

 

Kyren: You took that attack on purpose.

 

Dameon: It was the easiest way to get you to hold still. I had to take one for the team.

 

Kyren: For the team? Hah. You can’t possibly be referring to us. You cast me aside a long time ago. You tried to act like you were perfect. You tried to lead everyone to believe you were so modest, quiet, and understanding; all such admirable qualities. But, in the process you denied who you really were; an arrogant, angry, and selfish person.

 

Dameon: You’re right. I thought that if I did all of those things I could fill the hole in my heart. I could make friends and become someone that I thought I wanted to be. But, why can’t I be both? Why can’t I be modest, quiet and understanding but also turn my arrogance into confidence, my anger into focus, and my selfishness into love? Love for myself and the ones who care about me. I can’t change the past, but I can still change myself. I can be both of us.

 

(Kyren begins to fade into the abyss. Dameon reaches out his hand and takes Kyren’s hand.)

 

Dameon: I’m sorry. I shouldn’t deny who I am.

 

(Dameon and Kyren disappear in an explosion of dark energy that rips the very fabric of Dameon’s mind. The black walls surrounding Dameon’s subconscious burst, which reveal the original white room. The room is now filled with broken black pieces of paint, floating in the air.)

 

INT. HELL

 

Skar: When Dameon’s dark energy surfaced over a month ago, his body couldn’t handle it and created an alter ego to help deal with it. It would seem that Dameon won the internal struggle with his alternate self. But, his subconscious is broken and he probably won’t remember anything after his dark energy was unsealed. He should only remember bits and pieces, at best.

 

(Katie stares at Dameon for a moment.)

 

Katie: Skar, we’re leaving.

 

Skar: What are you talking about?

 

Katie: I’m taking him and we’re leaving.

 

Skar: Calm down, Katie. Where are you going?

 

Katie: I’m sorry… but I’m not going to tell you. Dameon and I are leaving; we’re staying here on Earth. I don’t want him living in Hell. I can’t see him like this!

 

Skar: Katie, taking him will only make it worse! You can’t go on protecting him forever!

 

Katie: I will for as long as I can.

 

Skar: Katie, Hell needs him.

 

Katie: Hell’s survived long before Dameon got here and it’ll continue just fine on its own, he and I were just fine on Earth and we’ll continue to stay that way.

 

Skar: …Fine, you want to play Earth rules. The boy’s considered an adult at 18. I’ll find you in a year and I’m telling him the truth, whether you like it or not. He’ll decide what he wants to do.

 

Katie: Don’t worry, you won’t find us.

 

Skar: I did before… I can do it again.

 

(Katie picks Dameon up and flies away.)

 

Samuel: Lord Skar, where are they going?

 

Skar: …I don’t know.

 

(Snow begins to fall from the sky. Skar and the demons look up in confusion.)

 

Skar: It would seem that Hell is back where it should be.

 

(Skar walks over to Giovanni’s dead body.)

 

Skar: …I hope you are at peace now, brother. I really do.

 

(The Oracle is sitting up on the nearby cliff, watching the demons standing in the snow. The hooded man, from the beginning of the story walks up from behind the Oracle.)

 

Hooded Man: I have returned Hell to its rightful place. Everything is going as planned.

 

Oracle: Is it now? I wouldn’t know.

 

Hooded Man: As it will stay.

 

Oracle: Will you at least tell me how much longer until we are done planning?

 

Hooded Man: Twenty years.

 

Oracle: Twenty more years?! I’ve been waiting for the past 12,000! You expect me to continue like this for another 20!

 

Hooded Man: Hah, you’re complaining about 12,000 years?! Try being imprisoned in a tiny room for 30,000 years!!! No food! No water! Nothing but myself!

 

(The Oracle sits silently.)

 

Hooded Man: You will do as I tell you and without complaint. For the next year, you will continue to tell minor prophecies, which I will relay to you. They will all come true. One year from now you will tell Skar that the Holy Warrior will kill Kyren.

 

Oracle: This prophecy… will it come true?

 

Hooded Man: …That will depend on Kyren.

 

INT. KATIE’S HOME-MORNING

 

(Dameon is lying in his bed, asleep. Katie knocks on the door, slowly waking him up.)

 

Dameon: Come on in.

 

Katie: Hey! You’re finally awake!

 

(Katie wraps her arms around Dameon.)

 

Dameon: Uh, yeah… I feel like I’ve been out for a while.

 

Katie: You have… its October 3^rd.

 

(Dameon looks confused.)

 

Dameon: Oc-October 3^rd?! You’re kidding, right?! What happened to the last month?!

 

Katie: …You were in a coma.

 

Dameon: A coma?! W-what the hell happened?!

 

Katie: You were at school and a group of bombs went off throughout the city. One of the explosions sent you flying through a window.

 

Dameon: Bombs?! …Holy shit?!

 

Katie: Yeah, they still haven’t figured out who did it. Unfortunately, there weren’t a lot of survivors. It took them a while to even find any survivors, including you. You can actually feel where they had to sew your head shut.

 

(Katie points at Dameon’s forehead and he reaches up and feels the stitching. The stitching is in a spot on his forehead that Giovanni had broken open, during their fight.)

 

(Katie wraps her arms around Dameon.)

 

Katie: I’m just glad you’re okay!

 

(Katie lets go of him and stands up.)

 

Katie: I have a surprise!

 

(Katie pulls a watch out of her pocket and hands it to Dameon.)

 

Dameon: My watch!

 

(Dameon puts the watch on, as an uncontrollable grin plasters his face.)

 

Katie: I have something to tell you, that I don’t think you’ll like.

 

Dameon: What’s that?

 

Katie: Well because of the destruction, we’re going to have to move again.

 

Dameon: …Cool. That just means a fresh start.

 

(Dameon smiles and his mom kisses him on his forehead. She gets up and leaves the room. Dameon stays in his bed, for a moment, admiring his watch.)

 

INT. KATIE’S HOME-MORNING

 

(Dameon walks down stairs with two suitcases in tow. He stops as he walks by a mirror near the front door. He sets down the suitcases and looks at himself, in confusion. He slowly lifts his arms, flexing. Katie walks into the room and becomes a bit nervous.)

 

Katie: What’s up?

 

Dameon: Oh, hey… Do I seem a bit more… fit?

 

Katie: Not really. You were always in pretty good shape.

Dameon: Eh, not this much, though.

 

Katie: Maybe you’re just growing into your body. You are almost a man, you know.

 

Dameon: Yeah, yeah, yeah… I guess you’re right.

 

(Dameon takes one last look in the mirror and then gathers up the suitcases.)

 

EXT. KATIE’S HOME-MORNING

 

(Dameon is loading his suitcases into the back of the car. He suddenly clutches his head in pain. Flashes of his battle with Giovanni rush through his mind, along with his month of training with Skar. Katie is bringing more out from the house, as they prepare to move.)

 

Katie: You alright?

 

(Dameon lets go of his head.)

 

Dameon: Uh, yeah. I’m just a little tired, is all. …You know, I was thinking about joining Track, once the season starts.

 

Katie: Really?

 

(Katie smiles at her son’s newfound charisma.)

 

Katie: Better start training.

 

Dameon: It’s not for a while, I’ll be fine.

 

(They both laugh as they get in the car and drive off.)

 

INT. THE WHITE CASTLE

 

(A long-haired man in a white robe is leaning up against the wall of a completely white hallway. His hair is dark and he has a hardened look on his face. His hair is pushed off of his face and runs all the way down to the middle of his back. The large double doors, nearby, open up. A man in a similar robe, steps out from behind the doors. He has long dirty blonde colored hair, tied into a pony-tail.)

 

Long-haired man: Jason, what did our Lord say?

 

Jason: I told him that Giovanni and the Angel of Death had been defeated by Kyren and that Hell had returned to its rightful place. He remains adamant about uniting Heaven and Hell. He wants us to give Dameon a year to enjoy Earth and then he wants us to escort him here, so that he may speak with him.

 

(They walk down the hallway.)

 

Long-haired man: Why doesn’t he get it?! We shouldn’t have to unite with the demons. They are beneath us. Does he forget that they betrayed him?!

 

Jason: I agree with you, Volkan. But, our Lord’s word is law and we mustn’t argue. Though, I am afraid that I may lose my temper when I finally meet face to face with Kyren.

 

Volkan: Are you not sure you will be able to contain yourself in the presence of your brother… Artemis?

 

(Jason stops and puts his hand in front of Volkan, halting him.)

 

Jason: Let’s make something clear, Volkan. My name is Jason. You are never to call me by that name. He is my HALF-brother. I cast that half aside a long time ago. The only bond we have is a bond of hatred for his kind. Also, the sooner you realize that I am your superior, the better off you’ll be. Do you understand me?

 

Volkan: …Yes, Master Jason. I give you my sincerest apologies.

 

(Volkan sneers at Jason, much to his annoyance.)

 

EXT. THE WHITE CASTLE

 

(Jason and Volkan exit the castle and make their way down the steps.)

 

Jason: Where is Renegade? He was to meet us here for training.

 

Volkan: He is no doubt lazing about.

 

Jason: As he always is. Shall we get started without him?

 

Volkan: We always do.

 

(The camera pans out to show an overview of a beautiful city at the foot of the castle. Angels and griffins can be seen flying and roaming throughout the city.)
